Wow. What a great spot right in the heart of Chapel Hill. Chips and salsa was wonderful and the service attentive. The star of my day was the tortilla soup and carnitas platter. You could taste the "grill" on the chicken in the soup and the broth was equally lip smacking. The fall apart carnitas was delicious in the warm tortillas served with it.I recommend this place without hesitation.

This place is my new favorite place Chapel Hill! The decor is fun, the margarita towers are a plenty, and they have taco platters.... Yes, platters! The staff is beyond friendly! The bartender doted on us the entire time! She makes a wicked mojito!

The decor and ambiance in Que Chula is unmatched! The restaurant is so beautiful and they even have a large outdoor patio too.We really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. You can tell the salsa is homemade!I got the gringa quesadilla which included pork, oaxaca cheese and pineapple, so unique! I also got rice as my side and it was the best Mexican rice I've ever had! Perfectly cooked, so soft and fluffy. My husband got the wet burrito and absolutely loved it. The chicken was well cooked and the burrito was quite literally swimming in delicious queso. My only con for this restaurant is the price. We spent $50 on just a causal lunch, although the portion sizes are generous it was just a bit pricier than what I expected. I would definitely go back to try out the margaritas, their drink menu looked quite extensive!

Great outdoor patio. Nice indoor area. Service was OK. They have a late brunch menu on weekends. Ordered the Chiliquielles which had corn chips, 2 eggs, pappas bravado and some sauces. A nice meal.

We picked Que Chula because of the attractive outdoor patio looked like it was calling our name. Funny....it was!!We were sat and greeted and everyone was so nice. I love when a server approaches and you know instantly you are in good hands. She recommended her favorites both drinks and entrees. We took her up on her recommendations and we're not disappointed. One slight set back a couple of items came out cool not hot, that wasn't enough to lower the 5 star review.I never went inside so I can't comment on the interior but we were impressed with the food and service!!

The al pastor tacos were probably one of the most flavorless tacos I've ever tried. The pork had barely any salt or seasoning, and many pieces were hard and chewy that I had to spit out. I got a side salad which was tasty, but had too much dressing on it. The only good thing was the complimentary chips and salsa. The ambience and decor is quite nice, but I wouldn't want to come back.

High expectations shut down by questionable packaging decisions. Everyone likes a good taco from time to time. I was recommended to visit Que Chulla due to many recommendations from the community. Since I had some DoorDash credits handy I decided to opt in for delivery. Items ordered:- Chimi Changa- Chula Pescado tacos- Tres Leches sliceNot sure if my order was rushed, lack of care of person packing the order, inappropriate containers not suitable for takeout or all of the above. Pescado tacos arrived like they were in a dryer on high spin. Filling everywhere, taco shells saturated with amount of sauce. Protein was very dense, dry and didn't really taste like anything. It was also cold. I would recommend using take out containers with dividers. That way individual components don't end up mushed together. Dressing, sauces and other condiments should be in a separate container to by assembled at the time of feast. Soft tacos should be wrapped in tin foil to preserve shape and texture. I won't review Chimi Changas since those were missing from my order for some reason. Tres Leches cake while flavorful again was not packed in a right container. Tall slices of cake require tall container (bow towards Cheesecake Factory for doing it right). Flat container result in squashing the desert. Attaching for reference picture taken from the business (for dine in experience) vs what arrived. Only saving grace was flavor of the slaw, plantains and cake. Nonetheless I'll be revisiting this place in the coming months for both dine in and take out/delivery experience to check how things are. Until then 2 stars.

The service was great! We were immediately brought to a table with the preference of inside or outside. The wait wasn't too long and we were always checked on. I got the quesabirria, which was decent. There were huge chunks of fat so some bites I took felt like I was eating tortilla and fat but the other parts of it were really good. I would come here again but I would probably get something else.

So far, I haven't dined in at this restaurant. My first time trying it, I was in a bit of a hurry, and I ordered a chicken chimichanga to go. I was a bit skeptical at first since I had heard mixed reviews about the place. An employee came to help me very promptly and took my order and offered to let me take a seat inside. The chairs are comfortable and I really like how colorful it is inside. There's just so much to look at!My food came out pretty quickly (about 10-15 minutes) end it was hot and packed well with chips, salsa, and plastic silverware. I got back home, had open it up and it was still hot! That chimichanga was almost life-changing as it was my first time experiencing some authentic Mexican flavors outside of the local burrito place on Franklin Street. it really tastes like home. The chimichanga was packed with flavor and can serve as two meals for me, since the portion is pretty large.

Was met and seated immediately, Sam was our server and he was most attentive. I had carnitas which were awesome, and my husband had quesabirrias and thought they were delicious. 4th of July in Chapel Hill pretty quiet, even with empty streets, the ambiance of this place made us feel like we were special. Will definitely do this again
