Been here many times and every time their food is excellent. You can tell they have pride in the food they serve and it's great. I'm gonna keep coming back for sure and I recommend it to anyone who wants great Hispanic food.

I really wanted to like this place. They served me tacos with old, dry, tiny bits of meat (at least a day old, heated again meat. The pupusas were underwhelming in flavor and size. I am aware I showed up right at 11 am when they open but no one showed up until 11:15 and instead of making something fresh gave me flavorless, reheated food. No thanks!

After growing up in Texas and then moving to NC, I struggled to find even decent Latin food. Stopped in one day to check out the restaurants and absolutely loved it. Food is great and Claudia is hospitable and kind. I bring my friends here regularly and we keep coming back. Highly recommend!

Pupuseria y Taqueria Orellana is AWESOME! The shop is located in a strip mall, and it kind of looks abandoned from the outside. Do not be turned off by this though, and the food inside is incredible. My wife and I are huge fans of pupusas, and this place really hit the spot. They also have authentic carne asada tacos. I wish I took a picture of the tacos, but I was so excited when they were ready that I scarfed them down immediately. If you read my reviews of Mexican restaurants, you will know I am VERY picky when it comes to tacos. These are the best tacos I've had in North Carolina and it almost makes me feel like I am back in Mexico. The service was a little slow as we were the only ones in the restaurant, but the food was so good I couldn't remove a star.

I really wanted to like this location. I ordered pork and cheese pupusas. They were hot and the filling was flavorful, but it tasted very oily. I love pupusas, but these were not my favorite.

I do have a guilty pleasure on Latino food. And I think I almost spot every single Latino spot in Durham. And I have to tell you that this place is the closest Salvadorian food I have had in the States. The main dish is pupusa and they have two choices for you to choose. I personally prefer the pork pupusa because cheese one is salty for me ( I am a sweet person, average savory is equivalent to too savory). In addition, they have side like frita(fries) ets for you to choose. I also has mexican soda, tasting so much better than coca cola ( I don't wanna write coke cuz coke is short for ...) The bomb of this store is actually the cabbage! Well seasoned and balanced with a little bit spicy in it. So far the best! One thing of this store is that it is really far from downtown Durham and it is close to Eno river. So maybe you'd love to eat pupusa for picnic at the river?! Oh, for the payment part they accept master card as well as visa with a minimum of 6 dollars.

This is my new favorite Pupuseria in the Triangle. Pupusa's sometimes taste of bland cornmeal, but not here - the cheese ones I got were great, really complex flavor. Their Pupusa-kraut is great, too.Asada taco's were also very good. It's pretty divey, just how I like it. Turnaround is a bit slow. It's also on the far north end of Roxboro Road, be warned.

Consider the pupusa - could it be the perfect food? They're thick, hand-made corn tortillas, stuffed with meat and cheese, or better yet, cheese alone. I stopped by the Pupuseria y Taqueria Orellana for lunch today and sampled one of each. La Orellana is a pretty good drive from the center of town, but well worth it. It's a combination tienda and (very) mini-restaurant; they have a small selection of groceries, lots of cold drinks, and about nine restaurant tables inside. The menu is short and consists primarily of two varieties of pupusas, some tacos, a carne asada torta, fajitas, and yuca frita con chicharron (fried yuca and pork), as well as a selection of sides - fried plantains, french fries, etc. My two pupusas came with cole slaw and salsa, the traditional accompaniments. They were hot, cheesy, and very filling (what more could you want?). Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to sample anything else on the menu. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend stopping in for a quick meal.

Another Five Star Meal!I've been back two more times since my original review in January. It would have been more often but I dropped by on the weekend when the shop was closed and the food truck was downtown. The last time I went I had the Carne Asada meal that came with rice, beans and a side salad. It was so very good that today I had the Tortas de Carne Asada (which was a sandwich) and a Tamalas de Elote Fritos (a fried cornmeal thing that looked like an eggroll). Both were absolutely delicious.I believe that the next time I go I'll start working my way through their Tacos. There is some seriously good eatin' here!
