This place is a new favorite for me after only one visit. I don't know if there are many shops in Philly focused just on Katsu, but I'm glad there is at least one! I got the chicken katsu, and it was so delicious. The servers were attentive and polite. The atmosphere when you walk in is just so great, and you really get the sense that you're in for a great experience as soon as you walk in. The

It's hard for me to believe that this place is so highly rated. This review hurts to write because: (1) It takes time to write reviews, (2) I want Korean restaurants to succeed, and (3) Katsu is one of my favorite dishes. But when I tell you the food was bad, it was bad. The katsu is dry & flavorless, they only give one banchan (side dish), and the rest of it is just as disappointing. To charge this much money for something so subpar is hard for me to understand. To my fellow Koreans, go to Upper Darby H Mart and get the kimchi donkatsu.. it's miles better. To the owners, please improve the katsu, give more banchan, and charge less. I hope this place succeeds, but I need to make sure they know about my experience here. Hoping for improvements although I don't know if I'll be back lol

Everything is very good in portions! My husband and I were both full after the appetizers. The place was very homey and cozy, it was like you walked into someone's home, and I haven't had that feeling for a while. It's a neighborhood restaurant. We ordered the Steamed Pork Dumpling and Shrimp Tempura. Shrimp tempura was our favorite, crispy and delightful. The tartar sauce wasn't heavy, refreshing and nicely done. We also ordered the Cheese Katsu, it's nice and we couldn't finish it as we were both full. We both will come back for their other dishes, such as Fish Katsu and Soba. It also come with complimentary corn soup and coffee :)

This restaurant is great for their katsu options! My boyfriend and I ordered the Cheese Katsu and Korean BBQ Short Ribs. Both entrees came with crab potato salad, a side salad, and a scoop of purple rice. The katsu was perfectly crisp and filled with the right amount of mozzarella. The Korean bbq short ribs were not as great as the ones I've had from other restaurants, but the plating was great! It was still tasty. Overall, this place is definitely great for katsu options and their fried appetizers! The ambience of this restaurant is homey, cozy and cutely decorated. Service is kind and attentive. Reasonable pricing as well.

Went here with a few friends for lunch and this place is so good! The interior of the restaurant is very cute, I felt like I was in a cooking mama game lol. Very homey and warm. They gave us free green tea and there was self serve coffee as well. Also came with a free chowder-type soup. Nice touch! What I ordered: Steamed Beef Dumplings: 5/5Very delicate skin but so good. The beef meat inside was very flavorful and melts in your mouth, and has a slight smoky flavor. Very good steamed dumplings. Comes with a sauce too.Katsu Chicken 4.5/5HUGEEE portion of chicken, you can tell from the photo. The chicken was flattened thin but very moist, the crust was crispy and fresh. The curry sauce that came with it tasted homemade, had a sweet apple-y taste to it and was slightly sour. Not a super savory type of curry that I normally expect but still good. The side potato salad is great, the rice portion can be a bit small for some people but I personally didn't mind it. And the salad and fruit on the side was a nice touch to the heavy meal. The presentation of the dish I found very cute as well lol.Overall a nice place. Has a simple menu and a homemade feel which adds to the charm. I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in the mood for katsu!

Was hankering for a good meal and came to katsu guys for lunch but came out with a FEAST. Food is great and clean tasting (none of that old oil bs taste) with such a homey staff. Felt like I was eating at my grandmother place. Philly has been lacking a good katsu place and finally glad we have one!

Small little place tucked into the plaza. The inside is very rustic and cozy. Love the decor and the placemats and cups fit very well with the surrounding decor. It seems like a family business and the employees are very nice! The food starts off with a cream soup. Very good start to a meal. It's light and creamy, goes down very easily. The cheese katsu was pretty good. The katsu sauce was a bit on the lighter side of flavor. It was ok. The cheese katsu was great but needs a bit more flavor. Some salt is needed. Its super satisfying biting through the crunchy skin into a flavor of cheese. Wonderfully fried. It's wonderful that they have a diverse plate of veggies some fruit and rice. The shrimp tempura was nicely fried as well! The Korean short ribs has decent flavor to them, but them were less like short ribs. The flavor is a bit too sweet. The meat was off the bone. Would have been great if it was traditional short ribs with the flavor and some char to it.Overall a pretty good place that could become amazing with some improvement to flavor. Certainly looking forward to their growth.

This was a pretty great place. As it's name suggests, this place serves mostly Katsu dishes (deep fried meats). And they're pretty good at what they do! I ordered the Cheese Katsu which was a deep fried pork cutlet stuffed with cheese. It had more than I expected which is a GREAT thing. Not only was the serving size of the cutlet huge, it came with rice, mashed potatoes, salad, and soup?! Needless to say I was full and satisfied by the end of the meal. All the food was delicious. Really loved the pork cutlet and the gravy that came with it.My only suggestion to the place might be to add a little more variety with the Katsu sauces. The gravy was great don't get me wrong, but more choices would be better. Like maybe curry, Katsu sauce, maybe a sweet and sour sauce. But other than that, I am a fan of this spot.

Cute little mom and pop shop. The decors is homey and staff are friendly. The menu is quite small, mainly katsus and a few appetizers. However if you're going to a place called "Katsu Guys" its pretty safe to assume you're going to order some kind of katsu. Got a chicken katsu and a pork katsu. Both were great, crispy and golden. Not greasy at all. I just wish they drizzled a little bit more of that katsu sauce because it is so good. Sweet and tangy.Would love to come again.

For lunch, I had the pork katsu. It was extremely crisp yet I could still taste the pork. It comes with corn soup, tasty but a very small portion, corn, cabbage, apple slices and a fruit salad which has a cut chili pepper. Add hot tea, and the meal is both very good and a bargain.
