Disappointing. Our service was fine but the ambiance was awful. The table next to use watched videos on their phone loudly and the servers never said a thing to them. Another table facetimed loudly with their phones. When we pointed that out, they did nothing about it and just turned up the music in the restaurant. Once they left, the music returned to normal volume. It was very strange. Our food was very hit or miss. The croque monsieur appetizer bites were good. The roast chicken was good but the cauliflower that came with it was barely cooked, it was essentially raw. My crispy salmon was so incredibly oily, not from the salmon but from how it was cooked (pan seared? deep fried?), but the ratatouille was very good. The bread pudding came out in a hot skillet, but the bread pudding itself was cold. Generally, we were disappointed in the food and would definitely not be back. I also wonder how long this place will be around. On a Saturday night, the place was never more than maybe 60% full.

Visited this place for dinner. Nice ambiance good service. However, the food is hitting on nothing. I ordered the fish and it was bland and unseasoned. The side dishes also were not well seasoned and left alot to be desired. My beverage was tasty though. I ordered a espresso martini and they did a great job. But unfortunately the food was not good and I will not be back. My friends that were with me at dinner also did not find the food to be desirable.

The hubs and I stopped by for a random Tuesday dinner date as I've had this spot bookmarked for quite some time. I made a reso on Open Table and away we went. Did I like it? yes, no, maybe so. (I'm torn) Did I love it like I wanted to for a repeat visit and adding it atop my favorite H-town French cuisine spots? unfortunately not. Yeahs: The ambiance is nice. French bread service (yum).Steak tartare is good. Servers were friendly and extraordinarily attentive to water refills.Pastries were beautiful and flaky.French onion soup was good, and a very solid start, but unfortunately the PS21 ride got bumpy after that. Truffles were chocolatey delicious. That flambé apple tatin dessert grew on us and the accompanying ice cream (gave an egg nog custard-ish vibe) was my favorite part. Mehs: The lobster bisque, while plentiful, is not that great and super heavy on the sherry. The duck Wellington was a bit under inside in spots, very chewy, and bland overall. More salt needed and sides were ok. The flavors didn't blow me away, and that's super rare in my French dining experience. Overall-- the starters and finishers were the stars of the show, I guess. So all's well that ends well, I guess. Not sure exactly what to think on this spot, really, and that's not like me at all. We spend a pretty penny to dine, and the hubs needed a snack later so ... that's that on that.

I love French food and was excited to try this new casual-ish bistro. We came with friends and ordered a variety of dishes to share. Nothing truly blew my tastebuds away, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the moules frites. That was a good portion for the price point. The bouillabaisse was a generous portion, too, but was a bit of a miss in terms of flavor. Not very punchy. The server removed our wine glasses before we had the chance to look at the wine list... odd. I ordered a cocktail instead and thoroughly enjoy my Botanist gin and tonic! Most likely would not return as there are other places to try and I wasn't amazed by the food. PS their happy hour prices are only valid at the bar.

The food was underwhelmingly below average, and sometimes even cold. My risotto pretty undercooked and none of the presentation would be considered upscale. My friend and I visited for lunch during a slower service and while the food service was fine, the valet service was atrocious. We stood outside for 20-30 minutes waiting on the valet to play jigsaw with the cars in the lot out front. This type of wait is completely unacceptable for people who have to return today jobs. At one point the restaurant manager even came out to move his car. If they have a known parking capacity issue, employees should be parking somewhere else.

My friends and I had a wonderful dinner here.We took advantage of their Houston Restaurant Week menu, and it was a great opportunity to try out this new place for us.I had the tarte flambee, the bouillabaisse, and the floating island for dessert. The table next to us ordered a tarte flambee also, and it smelled so good, leading me to ordering one for myself. I loved the caramelized onions in it. The bouillabaisse was super flavorful and comforting. The floating island was both light and rich at the same time, and the vanilla creme anglaise was so luxurious. We also tried their Paris cocktail which featured a tiny macaron - so cute! It had a very pleasant lemon flavor. Service was very attentive, and we never had empty water glasses. Chef Philippe also personally came out to greet us at the end of our meal, which we thought was such a nice touch. Would return!PS. "free" valet parking only

Tens across the board. I have honestly never been this satisfied with a dining experience before. The staff were very friendly and very helpful (shoutout to our waiter, Daniel, who never let our water glasses be less than half way full). The restaurant is a well decorated and intimate. It's modern but doesn't feel like it's trying too hard. The food... god bless. My compliments to the chef. Everything we had that night was absolutely delicious. Surprisingly, a stand out for us was the Sardine dip. Scrumptious. I unfortunately don't live in Houston so I'll be trying my best to replicate it at home, haha. We were also lucky enough to receive 2 free desserts! And they were all soooooo tasty. I would have to say my favorite was the bread pudding, but that's more of a bias thing cause trust me, all the desserts were delectable. I'll be raving about the place forever and can't wait to recommend it to friends. Note: I went with a party of 4. The roasted chicken we ordered was for one person. The food was MORE than enough, we were VERY stuffed at the end of the night.

Went to PS21 for a friend's birthday dinner. We were a party of 12 with reservations and we were seated in a semi-private room.Appetizers: for the table, 3 appetizers were ordered - escargots, croque monsieur bites, trio of dips. Would pass on the dips. The croquet monsieur bites were average. I didn't get to try the escargot but it was paired with a potato. Overall, would pass on the appetizers.Drink: polynésie. One of their featured cocktails, which includes plantation pineapple, creme de coco, piña sorbet, and champagne. I was hoping more for a piña colada taste, however the champagne made it more dry.Entree: Duck breast Wellington. Most of the party ordered this and it was pretty filling. The duck was moist and tender, well accompanied by the potatoes and mushrooms, however not as outstanding as I wanted it to be. I always appreciate a well prepared duck and this was just ok for the price point.Dessert: raspberry meringue. Shared this with a friend who is gluten free. This was just a great ending to the meal. Not too sweet. Preferred this over the chocolate cake that they gave to my friend. 10/10 would recommend.Service: Quick and attentive servers. Always kept our waters filled. The chef, Philippe Schmit, took the time to come out and greet our party towards the end. That was very appreciated.Ambiance: dimly lit, but great if you're looking for an intimate vibe. Definitely want to dress up a little to dine here, don't be too casual. Music was low, which was great since we didn't have to yell to each other.Parking: valet only, however complimentary. Attempted to tip by card/virtually but the valet kindly declined.Would I come back? I would, but only if invited to. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Overall, I would give 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4.

It's not often I am this underwhelmed by a dining experience. To start, our waiter forgot where he was and said welcome to (insert wrong restaurant name here). The ambiance in the restaurant feels very old and drafty...not at all what you'd expect at a French restaurant nor any restaurant in this area. The food we were served was also quite bland, lacking in appropriate French flavor and lacking in skill. The menu was also all over the place, we were served chips and queso as an appetizer (why?), the soufflés were below average for a restaurant claiming to focus on it, and the wine selection was disappointing. The worst part of this experience is that you pay River Oaks prices for a Hobby Airport experience. This is the type of restaurant you submit to Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares.

We wanted so badly to like this restaurant. Went here on Mother's Day. They had a specified menu for the day, which was fine. It's not a large establishment, but it's big enough. The servers were friendly but the service was incredibly slow and seemed disorganized, which should have been much quicker with a specified menu. We had been there almost 1 hr and still did not have our Appetizers!! At one point the waiter brought one person in our party of 5 their app, and had another app we did not order. We informed them and the took the unordered app away and returned a couple mins later, apologized and took the delivered app away and brought it to the correct table. I think this is no-no in the restaurant biz because it had been on our table a couple minutes. Although the food looked nice, it was bland, lacked taste and unimpressive. Very long waits between the app, entree and desert. It was about 2.75 hrs for us to finish. Much too long for a smaller restaurant. Unfortunately, we will not return.
