Went back a second time with family. Phenomenal experience again. The waiters and waitress were very attentive and we had a blast with family from out of town. We love the class of the restaurant while not upholding a strict attire. The place is perfect for both casual and upscale fine dining.Grabbed some of our prior dishes but also got the crab cakes (amazing), olive wagyu (melts in your mouth), and the omakase (includes three speciality rolls). We loved everything from the esthetic presentation of the omakase to the sparklers. Very sad the family did not get to experience the chicken fried lobster since it was out this time. Once again, Prime 131 knocks it out of the park. $3k in food was worth every moment for the family. Lupe did a great job like our last waitress and Shawn the GM was great as always. We plan to be back to try out the KBBQ. Vibe and ambiance was on point! Highly recommended. Thank you for serving us!

This is a beautiful restaurant built out of an old door factory, and the interior designer pays due homage to the building's history. You can dine indoors or on the porch. We chose the latter, as the interior is quite loud, and you can't have a conversation without yelling. The staff is among the most professional, knowledgeable, and hospitable that I have ever interacted with. Our waiter, John, was perfect--good-humored, well informed, and accommodating. He always knew exactly when to show up at the table, a skill that only the best waitstaff possess. The front personnel were also top-notch.The drinks were made exactly as ordered. My dining companion is very exacting about the details of his martinis, and the bartender nailed it perfectly. For appetizers we split a sushi roll, one of the more reasonably-priced items on the menu. It was delicious, as was the Scottish salmon crudo, which melted in my mouth. There is only one negative about Prime 131, which unfortunately is a big one, and I have to dock it a star. I ordered the 12 oz American New York Striploin steak, medium rare. While the sear and seasoning were perfect, the meat was overdone, dry, tough, and gristly. This was just not up to the quality expected of a $76 steak. In fact, just a few weeks ago, I grilled a $12 NY strip from a local supermarket, and it was far better. If my order was representative, Prime 131 is not competitive with high-end Houston steak houses. Of course, it's not reasonable to condemn an entire kitchen for what just could have been a bad outlier, but steaks are so expensive that I won't be taking the risk of ordering steak here again. I'll stick with the seafood, which is unparalleled.

We had a wonderful dinner. Well then why just 4 stars, you ask? Solely on the reason that the steak my husband ordered (bone-in filet) was charred beyond even a Pittsburgh char (which he did not ask for, he just wanted a medium rare steak). It was quite rare inside, and the outside was cancer-causing charred like crazy! There were definitely some spots of awesomeness, but the severe char was beyond appetizing. It just didn't seem anywhere close to being medium rare. Seems like their ovens or skillets are extremely hot! The interior is very nice. Industrial chic, dark and moody. Location was most definitely off the beaten path and quite disarming, considering how cool this restaurant is. Everything else we ordered and ate was delicious--especially the clam chowder and chicken fried lobster! I would order those 2 dishes again! Service was great and drinks are delicious!

Located in a revamp industrial part of Timbergrove area. Good location to me because I live nearby. Parking was an ease. There is $8 valet but I opted to self-park which was complimentary. I didn't have a reservation for a Sunday night. So I was a walk in but was greeted and seated at a table for one (me!) mood was overall romantic and upscale. I like the vibe, you can see the kitchen and fire from the stoves working.I order for my main, the bone-in short rib. It was giving very much The Flintstones but it was GOOD. Very tender and flavorful. However, I was disappointed in the size of the loaded mashed potatoes for the price. The size was very personal which would be good for only one person, in my opinion. I wanted leftovers but the only thing that I had leftover was the short rib. There is a dessert menu that is separate. I got the Basque cheesecake! It was yummy! Wasn't super dense, rich nor too sweet. It came with a nice presentation too. My server was great too with helping my selections and giving recommendation.

Prime 131 is a major HIGHLIGHT on my 33rd birthday! I'm usually skeptical on trying out newer restaurants that don't have many reviews, especially when they're expensive but eating here has opened my food mind. Based on the reasons I just stated I wouldn't have chosen this place but I was taken here and I'm SO glad I was! To start off with the area is low-key so it's easy to get to. They offer valet but also have some accessible free parking spaces. I saw the beef images outside so knew it was a steakhouse but was pleasantly surprised to find their quality sushi menu as well.I bring up sushi but prior to going here I had never tried any raw sushi and had been skeptical of trying it since I had a tuna tartar elsewhere that I couldn't stomach to finish. I think it was a whirlwind of the quality presentation at the sushi bar, them having A5 steak (I'll get to that later) and it being my birthday that made me adventurous enough to try the raw sushi. I'm extremely glad that I did! The person that I was with also tried raw sushi for the first time and it wasn't for them but I believe that's just the idea of raw sushi didn't agree with her. I went with the 5 piece Chef's Selection of Nigiri and after sharing 1, I enjoyed the rest. I forget exactly which pieces were included. I personally did request a soy sauce for dipping but the sushi was good either way.I love a good bread to start a meal and the Parker House Rolls were a delight. I went with the Chicken Fried Lobster for an appetizer. Again the person with me didn't enjoy it but I loved it. The lobster pieces were well seasoned themselves but the sauces (3 I believe) worked really well with it and together gave a well rounded tang to it. I personally prefer not to have alcohol with my dinner but due to the somewhat limited non-alcoholic beverages they have (they do have a number of mocktails) I decided to do a French 75 as I am typically a drinker of gin.Now to be honest I love mac and cheese and I'll probably order it 9/10 times at most places. I can honestly say that I am beyond glad that I tried it here as well. Not because it was just a flavorful Mac and Cheese but because it was done in an inventively new way for me. It was large pasta shells Stuffed with Ricotta Cheese. This was my first time having ricotta in a mac and cheese and it came together pleasantly. I'm unsure what all other cheeses were in the dish, but there was also a foam over the top that help make the dish light yet decadent. The Spinach Gratin was no slouch as well. The ricotta stuffed mac and cheese was my favorite of the two, but I would struggle to try another option the next time I come because they were both delicious.I'm sure that the fact that they offer A5 Japanese Wagyu was a significant reason this place was chosen for me. I had never tried it prior to coming here but it was definitely on my bucket list. As soon as I saw it, I basically knew that I had to at least try it. They also offer American and Australian wagyu as well as USDA prime, but not many places offer A5 Japanese wagyu.I will say that reading is fundamental lol. Looking at the menu, I wondered why the A5 Japanese wagyu prices were lower than the American and Australian wagyu since I know it is of a higher quality in price. I just assumed that they were smaller Cuts and so you would just be getting less me at per price. I went with Kagawa Prefecture Olive Beef Tenderloin. The person with me was also going to get A5 until they notice that the a five beef was priced per ounce and had a 4 oz minimum, so she instead ordered a lower cost cut of steak. I didn't realize this until after I had fully ordered. Again I enjoyed my A5 steak but she wasn't a fan of it. By the way I did get mine cooked medium. We had the prime 131 steak sauce, yakiniku sauce, and ponzu garlic butter sauce to go with the steaks. They were all cool but weren't needed with the steaks. For dessert, I ordered the Basque Cheesecake because I wanted something light and it came with a smoke presentation. Had I known that I would also have been receiving a complimentary birthday dessert as well I likely would not have ordered the extra. I'm not sure what the complimentary dessert was but it was cool. I can't say that the cheesecake was better. The cheesecake also had an almond Our waiter was helpful and regularly kept coming to the table to check on our order. The bus boy with him (I'm not sure if that's the right word) clearly had a sense of being new but was fairly kind and helpful as well. One of my only complaints would probably be that the waiter did bring me chopsticks that had about an inch of the tip of one of them broken but he did swiftly replace it once I asked for a replacement. The inside of the restaurant is pretty chill personally the decor didn't stand out but I did really enjoy the open kitchen with the fires they use. I extremely enjoyed the dining experience and crave the next time I get to enjoy it!

The ambiance and mood is this place is pretty amazing. They have the open kitchen so you can smell all the fresh herbs grilling. The steak and grilled lobster were very flavorful and tender. Definitely a finer dining experience you should checkout.

While looking for a new place to dine, we came across this new restaurant..loved it! We will return! Here are our thoughts:Atmosphere:Stepping into Prime 131, guests are enveloped in an ambiance that exudes elegance and sophistication. The tasteful decor and warm lighting create the perfect backdrop for a nice dining experience.Cuisine:Hubby had the the NY strip steak and he was delighted! He felt it was a culinary masterpiece, however he felt that pairing this dish with a sweet potato would have elevated the overall dining experience. I ordered the marinated baby chicken and it was well seasoned, unfortunately it fell short in texture, making it a bit dry.Service:The service at Prime 131 is a tale of two experiences. At the bar, Alex provided exceptional service, delivering drinks with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. However, at the table, there was room for improvement. Our waiter seemed to lack attention to detail, forgetting some items and exhibiting a need for additional polish in his service approach. While these shortcomings were noticeable, they did not overshadow the overall dining experience, thanks to the efforts of the attentive bar staff. Additionally, we appreciated the manager's proactive approach in seeking our feedback as we left, showing a commitment to improving the guest experience.Highlights:Despite the slight disappointment with the marinated baby chicken, the NY strip steak remains a highlight, boasting exceptional flavor and succulence. Imagining it paired with a sweet potato only enhances its appeal. Sipping and old fashion added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. We will absolutely return!

Our attendant Lupe' was amazing. Not only did he prepare our meal in our presence, but he also educated us on the variety of wagyu beef. This was me and my husband's second time coming. We absolutely love the food, the service, and the ambiance is beautiful.

We had the best experience here!!! We came early for dinner and the menu is pretty big. We ordered a little of everything from different sections on the menu. We started off with the mini crab cakes, the hamachi crudo, and I got the shrimp tempura roll since I can't eat anything raw at the moment. All of them were excellent! I was pleasantly surprised by the shrimp tempura roll. It was really fresh and the flavors were on point. For our entrees, we for the Australian wagyu strip steak and the lobster. Both were cooked perfectly and I can't recommend these enough! For dessert, we got the deconstructed key lime pie which I wasn't a fan of. Our waiter ended up getting us the blood orange sorbet which was much better. I would say dessert was the only thing we didn't enjoy. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. The restaurant looks bigger than it actually is from the outside. Def recommend checking them out!

We had a great time. The service was amazing. Deja was great; she made recommendations, was attentive, was friendly, and added to the experience. The place isn't cheap but is not overly expensive. The dinosaur bone marrow, spiced edamame, and lobster were so good. The stuffed mac and cheese is reason enough to go back, and I will.
