Came here for lunch. Small place, just a standing table inside and 2 outdoor ones. Tacos are ordered in a set of 3 and can't mix types. I tried their al pastor. It's not the type of place that has all sauces or sides to add taco. Everything included cilantro, onion, large pepper and a side of hot sauce (not actually hot). The portion was quite large and filling. Wasn't the tastiest al pastor tacos I had in city but not bad overall.

Although close to south Philly barbacoa, this place has incredibly authentic Mexican food with great variety. My SO and I love to come here for tortas (which are delicious!). They also have tacos, burritos and an extensive menu with a variety of protein options which I appreciate

Last night was our first time checking out Prima Pizza Taqueria Mexicana and I can't believe it took us so long to discover this place. They do not have a website, so we called in our taco orders using old menu pictures uploaded to Yelp.Like many taco places, the tacos come in threes and cost about $12 per order. They do not have guacamole and chips, but for authentic and delicious tacos this good, you want to make room for more tacos and eat chips and guacamole another day.Of course, I had to get my lengua tacos, which were good and more flavorful than Los Gallos'. The Surtida, which consisted of lengua, chicharron, pig ear and tripe, was something new we haven't seen before, and had to get. The Surtida did not disappoint and is something we'll be getting more of. The Campechanos is a mix of carnitas, asada, and chorizo, which I expected to be really good, but it was just okay. All the meat components seemed to be overpowered by the chorizo, and all I could taste was chorizo. We'll definitely be back to try their other offerings. Also, they are cash only so make sure to bring cash!

Our forever go to on late night snacks (opens till 4AM), and sometimes board day night :) Remember to call and order in advance as it might take them a while to prepare. I usually go for their lengua or Surtida taco/ burrito. My boy always goes for their Al pastor taco/ burrito. ONE WORD! DELICIOUSSSSSS~

This place has one of the best lengua tacos I've had in Philly and they're pretty consistent (I've only had one incident when the food was overly salty). They don't mess around with heat either. I usually love whole, grilled Jalapeños but I can't handle the heat from the ones from here. Be prepared to sweat and possibly cry. I'm not even exaggerating, I literally had tears running down my face. The sauces have a lot of heat too, which I love. I haven't tried anything else other than the lengua tacos so I can't comment on the rest of the menu but the tacos are a 5/5 in my books.

This review is for the birria tacos that has become a culinary trend recently. After you place your order you have to wait outside. There's a sign in Spanish for this procedure. I'm glad I know Spanish. The beef is on the border line of being chewy but still enjoyable. The flavor is bland. The consommé has some shredded beef in it.

OHHH WOW this place is SO GOOD. Loved the lengua tacos and carne enchilada burrito! The lengua was so soft and flavorful. My order also came with a jalapeño and some spring onions. The burrito was super tasty as well. The rice was well-seasoned, which I felt really elevated the flavor! The food is a bit on the oily side, but I think that's kind of expected. One thing though: the prices are not very transparent because the numbers are covered over on the menu and it's hard to find the current values online. Our order was a little more expensive than I expected, which isn't a problem usually but something to keep in mind because it's cash only. Don't want to be a few bucks short of a delicious meal!Overall, we loved the food here! Definitely a hole-in-the-wall vibe. We will be back :)

Very small restaurant but great food! The birria tacos are delicious and so is the sauce it comes with. However, had I not had the most perfect sauce back in Los Angeles, I would've hands down called this it. It's just missing such a small I-dont-know-what to make it elevated. The tongue tacos had the taste buds visible on them, which made my fiancé wince a little as he doesn't prefer that in tongue. But it was still flavorful to him.The horchata was delicious! The carne asada tacos were a bit chewy as another reviewer said, so I'm not sure I would order it again. The price is a bit steep for 2 orders of birria tacos, 6 other types of tacos in total, and a horchata. I expected the price to maybe 40? It came out to $55. Just a warning! Would return again and only order the birria tacos and horchata.

I have to update my previous review on this. Tacos are delicious there's no question about that. I came back since I haven't been here in a long time. I noticed that menu is hanging on the wall but prices are scratched off. Not a problem, whatever. How much could tacos be? $13 for 3 tacos. Now I go to a lot of Mexican restaurants. From nice sit down ones to little joints like this and even at a nice sit down restaurant you don't pay that much for tacos. I go to plenty and it's usually $3 max per taco. So I felt a little ripped off. Ask for prices before buying. I think they just say a random numbers.
