Pop's Pitt Bar BQ

Not bad at all! I was in search of a tasty potato, and I came to the right place. The parking lot is a bit torn up, but thankfully there was room to park on the side of the road. The employees were super friendly, and the fact that everything is outdoors is nice. It felt good to sip on my sweet tea with the sun hitting my back. I will definitely be back, and I may even try something else next time. The meat on my potato was super yummy and had lots of flavor.

This was my first time ordering from this place. I read all the reviews and I figured I'd try for myself. I ordered the Stuffed Potato with chopped beef. Normally when eating at a BBQ place a Baked Potato is what I get. Honestly, it was ok the meat tasted like Fajita meat. The potato was a little hard and needed to be cooked a little longer also the potatoe had no flavor meaning they didn't even add salt on the outside of the potato so when baking or boiling the salt would make its way to the inside of the potato. The service was great very nice friendly. When placing my order they did tell me 4 people were ahead of me so I timed it and when I arrived my food was ready. I would try something else, but the Stuffed Potato I would not get again.

This is the way barbecue should be served. In an old shack, walk up window and order your barbecue. The brisket was hot and moist and a nice smoke. Ribs fell off the bone.

We got a family dinner for $45, Good deal. It comes with 1lb sausage, 1lb brisket and 1 whole chicken but unfortunately they where out so they subbed it for chopped beef. Also come with potato salad( has onions) beans and bbq sauce. Everything was great. The meat had a nice smoky flavor, very tender and hardly any fat. The sides where also very good. Bbq sauce was a sweet sauce. The staff where very friendly.

If you're looking for some authentic delicious barbecue search no more! Pops Pitt bar bq blew every bbq place I've ever tried out of the water! The fresh sliced brisket prepared right before your very eyes. The food here boasts with rich flavors of the south (in my opinion) they have a delicious baked potato, chopped beef sandwich, to die for sausage...and the list goes on. Anything you order from the menu is absolutely outstanding! You can't go wrong at this lovely little bbq stop. I'm just mad I didn't find it sooner lol there's also a cute/friendly little grey cat outside who wanders the property. Say hello to him he's super sweet!

This place is very traditional and simple so is the taste and originality of the Texas. We ordered the two meats and 2 side dishes. The brisket is very tasty and the BBQ sauce. I would recommend the place to everyone who wants to eat a great and original BBQ.

I've been searching for a long time............And my search is now over. Great BBQ. Great price for the portions received. Local.It's outdoors and you order at the counter. The owners are running it, and are very friendly. There's even a cat hanging out looking for some tasty scrap. Parking lot is small, but you can park on the road. Sit underneath the shade tree and crack open an ice cold Dr. Pepper while you wait. It's worth it. The locals know it too. It was 100 degrees that day, and the only people there were us and the locals picking up their lunch. We ordered the brown bag special which consisted of a chopped or sliced beef BBQ sandwich. Absolutely delicious. I haven't had a BBQ this good in years. We also ordered their meal for two for later. Sliced brisket, potato salad, and beans. In the spirit of old school BBQ, they give you good portions for your money. The potato salad is more mustard based. But their sauce....it's perfection. Not some silly "coffee" nonsense or "fushion" that so many of my millennial brothers and sisters seem to adore. No this sauce is pure Texas BBQ sauce. BBQ near (-ish) in the Houston area is VERY hit or miss. People, especially younger people, will talk about these amazing new BBQ places in the city only to arrive to some makeshift garage or food truck that sells craft beer and owners who fancy themselves as the next Franklin BBQ. They skin you alive for lackluster, dried out brisket, but it's presented on a metal plate and then they'll do the ole "spin around the iPad" move. Pops Pit BBQ is the antithesis of city BBQ. It's delicious. It's generous. And it's the real deal. It's the type of establishment that put Texas BBQ on the map. It's also the my new go-to moving forward. Do yourself and favor. Eat here.

We stop by this place every time we are on our way out of town. The food is great and service is so friendly.
