Wife and I decided to check out Plov House after hearing many good things about it. Plov House is a small 9-table 24-hour place but was brightly lit and appeared clean with white tablecloths and plastic covers. Single page menus on the table, and customers were constantly in and out. Surprisingly, every customer coming in was a young male, some singles but most in groups. There's a couple of large refrigerators full of food in containers ready to go. After some language barrier ordering, we ended up pointing to what we wanted on the menu. I tell you EVERYONE who came in ordered Plov and bread. We did, too. Along with the assorted kebabs, lagman soup, and two Samsas. The soup was tomato based with homemade long noodles, beef, celery, peppers, onions, carrots, and celery. Had to alternate between a fork and spoon to eat it. The bread was extra tasty and was great to dip in the soup. The kebabs were fresh, very tender, and came with onion and some pickled hot peppers. My wife liked her samsa but I was getting full and took mine home. But the star of the night was the Plov with the most tender and flavor filled slow cooked rice with lamb, beef, carrots, and onions. I could see why most come in and just order it for however many were in their party. It's that good. Best I've had so maybe as others mentioned it was a fresher batch made. With two bottle Cokes and a wonderful pot of black tea, our meal came to $77 including tax and a small upcharge for credit card payment. Tip was left in cash. I will say that the prices on the bill were slightly higher than what was listed on the menu so be mindful of this. For instance, menu Plov is $14.99 but bill Plov is $16.19. Menu tea is $1.99 but bill tea is $2.15.You have to know that when most of the customers are holding court in their language enjoying their food in a constant stream, that Plov House is doing something right. The service was quite friendly. Highly recommended.

This place was featured in the Inquirer so I felt a big need to check out. They are located deep in the northeast Philly. They serve Uzbekistani food and are open 24/7. It is very small but it was still crowded with people drinking tea even at 10 at night. They have some of their food pre packed which was pretty good for me since I just wanted take out. I had the Manti which was basically lamb dumplings. The dumplings taste amazing but definitely didn't like the gamey taste of lamb. While this wasn't my favorite place in the world, I think it might be due to not being accustomed to Eastern European food so I can't give it a low rating. It is definitely worth the experience especially if you have never tried Eastern European food.

Had super high hopes given the reviews. Tried to order over the phone but the employees do not speak English, so your best bet is to order online. Started with the manti, which was fairly good but rather standard flavoring. Hard to eat as typical dumplings so you'll have to cut them up. The nhakut soup was fine, probably wouldn't order again. The plov rice is what everyone gets and was delicious, especially with the yogurt sauce for the meat. We ordered bread as that seemed popular but that was left out of the delivery (didn't realize until I got home, so check your order!). Overall worth trying and an interesting combo of flavors specifically for the meat of the plov rice. After seeing the decor probably wouldn't have chosen to eat in.

Amazing Plov, brings me back to homeland. I see people complain about the refrigerated part. See, you need to understand that they have fresh plov sometimes and sometimes they don't. It's a 24/7 restaurant so it's easier to manage that way. The taste is amazing regardless, it's a bit pricey sure but the plov is very meaty. The sense of community at this place is very welcoming, even if you're not Uzbek you can feel it. Rahmot!

Small restaurant with big fridges of food that you can take home or sit down, order, and eat. The service was okay. I really liked their tea in their cute tea pot and cups. Plov was really good. Meat was a little dry but still not bad. Samsa and beef kebab was good as well. The beef kebab was so smoky!! Will be back! I wish there was music in here though.

Interesting place inside a plaza. The interior is sort of small. With a huge fridge full of food next to the front desk.We got one serving of plov and it said there was beef and lamb inside it. As far as I know if you get something to go you're getting a nice refrigerated meal in a container for about $16 after taxes. So we decided to give it a try.The beef is tender with some pieces and others seemed over cooked and charred making it very tough. You get a decent amount of food though. The rice was nicely seasoned. The edible pieces of meat has decent flavor, nothing special. On top of that it didn't seem to have any lamb in the container just beef. All in all I wish I could recommend this place but the combination of having to self microwave your own meal and a $16 price tag makes it hard to. Pieces of over cooked charred meat and what seems to be a lack of lamb makes it hard for me to give a good review.

Great and halal and fresh food all day long. Clean service. I would recommend this place for 24/7 servings. I would recommend this to everyone in the area, and the travelers too.
