Pink's Cold Treats

I didn't care for my water ice, but I am giving them four stars, because it is only due to personal preference. I was SO excited to try this, because shaved ice is one of my favorite things in the world. I was expecting something similar to a sno-cone, but this was more syrupy and think. The texture was okay, but I was not a big fan of the flavor.I ordered a strawberry-kiwi and it just wasn't great. Again, this is just due to personal preference. Other people clearly love these. Definitely give it a try to see what you think. This could be your next favorite thing :).

Finally got to try another water ice vendor in the city! On a scorching hot day, the mango water ice hit the spot. My husband got a beef hot dog and enjoyed it as well as a blueberry water ice. The water ice is on par with Rita's. Don't expect bits of fruit like you get at Pop's. But you'll get an icy treat that is sure to please on a hot summer day in the city. There were several people working in the truck, so they had an efficient system so that folks weren't waiting long at all. Bonus points for having soft pretzels and pizza pretzels on offer as well. (It was just too hot for me to eat anything but frozen treats the day I visited them.)

I stumbled across Pink's cold treats mobile truck while my family visited Logan Square on a Sunday afternoon. The truck was too cool looking not to stop! They had a variety of water ice flavors. I thought it was great to see there were a few young adults working. We were greeted with smiles and high energy. The water ice was delicious and the servings were plentiful! Before leaving we had a chance to meet the owner and her energy aligned with the cheerful and cool look of her truck!! I found this gem at Smith's Playground. This water ice is delicious!! The owner and staff were so pleasant and patient. I sensed we were in for a treat when I noticed everyone was in line... the pizza pretzel made it worth the wait! Can't wait to run into this truck again!!
