Picco Pizza & Ice Cream

We came for the pizza and ice cream but I would come back for the burrata! The cheese melts in your mouth with the perfect sweet jam to complement it. The biscuit is wonderful on it own - crispy on the outside, airy and filled with a good herbal flavor. The pizza was also delicious. Good bread, good toppings, good char. We loved the outdoor space which was conducive to an active 1.5 year old. Our waiter was wonderful, timely and attentive.

I'm shocked I've never reviewed PICCO before since I've been going here pretty much since it opened (although honestly it took me a while to figure out that PICCO stood for "pizza and ice cream company".) Outstanding thin crust charred pizzas, small bites like meatballs and wings, salads and my favorite the mac & cheese (with sausage and mushrooms, please) is simply amazing comfort food, Add a great wine and beer list and of course ice cream (which is some of the best around) in a modern sleek space with lots of outdoor seating and this is a total affordable neighbor institution.if you remember Bertucci's (especially the old south end one behind Back Bay station) it's like an elevated Bertucci's

Overall pretty mediocre experience, mostly due to service. Felt like the restaurant was very understaffed despite it being half empty on a Monday night. We waited forever to order and ultimately it was the host who took our order, however then we never had refills of our waters or were checked in on and it was difficult to get our waitress to stop by so we could ask for the bill. From a food perspective, we did enjoy the corn chowder and the mac and cheese had a nice blend of cheeses for flavoring. Pizza was fine, a step up from most pizza chains probably but otherwise not too impressive. If anything, the food I would come back for is the ice cream. Scoops are pretty typically priced for the area and can be ordered at the counter for take out (pints also available). I tried the passionfruit and it had a nice flavor and texture.

This place has everything you want in a casual restaurant great service relaxed atmosphere (music included) homemade everything and delicious everything. Come try it thank me later.

We took subway to this place from Seaport because of a Dave Portnoy pizza review, getting off at the Back Bay stop and walking another 8-10 minutes or so.Both of the chicken wings were gluten free so we got both, and really enjoyed them. Wife had the Carnitas taco, also Gluten Free, because she couldnt have the pizza we were getting and didnt want a Gluten Free pizza option because nobody has said much good about it. She thought the taco was good and actually 1 taco was quite large.The pizza was solid. Nice crunch like we like it. One edge took some good fire, and was over done a bit, but we still ate and enjoyed it. I think some sort of garlic butter dipping sauce would be a great thing to offer, as the crust itself didnt have alot going for it outside of a nice crunch.

I went with a small group of friends. The place had a bar, a couple of high tables for two and booths for a larger group in the back. The place served thin crust pizzas and ice cream. I was able to customize my pizza and got mozzarella and mushroom which was very good! My favorite dish was the baked Mac and cheese. I definitely would go again and try the ice cream. Lastly the service was fast and the staff were very helpful with the menu.

Went to Boston's famous "Southie" neighborhood to check out a pizza place that is a local favorite. Picco Pizza is a restaurant that has a small menu, limited space and a ton of heart. The brick oven style pie we ordered was absolutely terrific and I could not find a single thing wrong with it. The crust is so light yet chewy it reminded me of sourdough bread. Prior to that we started with an amazing salad that had mangos, peanuts and avocado with chili peppers. We could not leave without trying their famous homemade ice cream and I was not disappointed in it either. I chose chocolate malt and passion fruit ice cream with whipped cream. Heaven!!!

This place is so good! If you are looking for crispy thin pizza, this is the place to go! Would make a super cute date spot or just a fun girls night: pizza + wine + homemade ice cream! There is street parking available but it can be hard to find, so plan accordingly. The service was great and it's not too loud in there were you could easily hold nice conversation with whoever you go with. The wine selection isn't lengthy, but the cab we got was honestly very good. Note: Not photographed was the sundried tomato pesto, roasted vegetables & smoke mozzarella. Both were delicious! Also not photographed was the home made ice cream! I had the coffee + chocolate chip which was superb!

picco is one of those spots where i was like "oh yeah i should go there" considering it is always busy and in my neighborhood. the concept is awesome as it's great to see pizzas being made in an open-air kitchen. got seated right away, and service was very attentive and direct. prices are very good, especially for boston. the small pizza is perfect for two people to share, and being able to mix and match half of the pizzas is great. corn, potato, and chorizo pizza was yummy, as was the alsatian. ended our meal with the vanilla ice cream with peanut butter chips and chocolate chips, which was good but not mind blowing. overall a good experience but nothing "popped". would go back!

Great pizza! So delicious. I have been there many times over the past 13 years and will continue to go!
