Pi-Hi Cafe

Totally unassuming. Totally delicious.Order a shawarma pizza, and thank me later. Also make sure to get the spicy hummus. It's worth the extra 50 cents. The pita was really toasty hot and soft and the hummus was really something. This place is in a strip mall but don't let that put you off. They are putting out some really banging food. The staff all seemed really nice. And it's neat that you get to see right into the pizza oven. I don't have much more to say about this place other than I would order from here weekly if I could.

Came back after some months had past. Everything was still the same and still delicious. I decided to give the falafel plate another chance and this time flavor was so much better. We also tried the chicken shawarma. It was juicy and full of flavor. The service is still a little slow, but food is totally worth it.

I actually really loved this place because of how consistent the food was. I recently went and noticed things have changed. I'm assuming they are under new ownership with the menu additions. However, when I received my food it looked questionable. The hummus was so dry and not blended (normally it's smooth and delicious) the rice was a little off and def. Not the same as before. The salad didn't taste the same and the meat was just ok. This was a great place I'm hoping things become more consistent.

I used to live a block from Pi-Hi, always seeing it as a reliable takeout option when I didn't want to cook or was too lazy to hop in the car after a long day. It was never the best Mediterranean food I've ever had, but always serviceable, above average at a great cost. Now that we're a little further away, I don't go as often. After my last two experiences, I'm not sure I'll go again. This time I had the Veggie Sampler platter, which is supposed to come with falafel, pita, hummus, babaganoush, salad, rice, and stuffed grape leaves. To start, there was no rice. Also, whoever put the platter together threw the pita in on top of the salad, making it soggy and just about inedible. They used to individually wrap it in tin foil, and carefully separate things out - not anymore. The tahini sauce came with a plastic lid that wasn't sealed on tight, leading to a fairly large mess. The grape leaves were great, though I wish there were more than too. But. hummus was average at absolute best, I might have been better off grabbing a tub across the street at Mariano's. The babaganoush was off as well, and salad was drenched in cream (or was that my unsealed tahini?). The falafels. You can't mess up a falafel, right? Yes. Yes you can. These were like brittle hockey pucks, as if they were made yesterday and reheated out of the fridge. One off night, hey it happens. But, this is the third below average experience in a row, and probably the worst dining experience I've had in years. A real shame, because this used to be a routine favorite.

Not the quality of food I would expect from a Mediterranean restaurant. Maybe their pizza is better but I will not be returning to find out.

Quaint little place across from Lane Tech High school and a local spot for the students. I ambled in one day to pick up dinner and saw they were reasonably priced. I got the falafel sandwich and a eggplant and falafel sandwich for my husband, which he said was very tasty. The service was decent, no complaints and the food is fresh. Worth a visit.

Pi-Hi Cafe has great selection of Mediterranean food at affordable prices. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from Mediterranean pizza, pitas, salads, and vegetarian selection. We've ordered here a few times and the Mediterranean Pizza Pi is a favorite. It's crispy, delicious, and love the addition of shawarma on a pizza. I usually also order falafel as a side but not the biggest fan of the Tahini sauce. This is near Lane-Tech High school where they have specials specifically for students. The service is always prompt, we've always been able to pickup our order in less than 30 minutes. I recommend online ordering, it's fast and seamless.

New owners. Very tasty and great prices. I am a traditionalist when it comes to Italian pizza but gave the Mediterranean chicken shawarma pizza a try. Glad I did because it was very good. I also love that they have a lot of lunch specials to help out the kids at Lane Tech High School.

I placed my order over the phone for pick up and the staff was extremely friendly . When I came in to pick it up the shop is really small but has a few tables to sit at if you're planning to eat in. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza, hummus, and falafel . The pizza was interesting ! Definitely had a gyro taste to it. The crust was cooked well and I'm sure the other pizzas are good as well. The pizza was enough for two people and we probably could have done without the falafel in order to satisfy our hunger.The hummus and falafel are your typical dishes , flavored well- nothing special . Definitely a good bang for your buck and worth going to !

Great food. Very nice people working here. When you walk in and see all those testimonials they pin on the wall, believe them.
