Salt Tacos y Tequila - SanTan

First time here, came with friends who had actually come for their first time the day before! We all had to come back and try it for ourselves! So glad we did...Wife had the margarita flight, which is amazing in itself! She liked them all but loved the skinny one best. You don't get to pick the ones to try, it comes with a selection of four different ones. The flight she got included The Skinny, Raspberry Hibiscus, Salt Paloma and I can't remember the other one but it's in the picture.I ordered Chips and Salsa and it was funny because I was the only one to eat them and the server split the cost with everyone at the table...good thing they love me and I didn't have to fork over .84 to pay each one back! The salsa is good, not spicy but had good flavor and the chips were light and salty.I ordered the Chilaquiles with Carnitas and when it arrived, oh my gosh! It was more than enough for two or three or even four people! It's huge and I could only get through about a quarter of it! It was so good although...they use a red sauce and I'm more a green sauce kinda girl. The meat was cooked well and was juicy and flavorful. The sauce was good, maybe a bit thick but had good flavor and wasn't too spicy. I'm a whimp when it comes to spice and I handled it just fine. Wife had Carnitas tacos which comes with three tacos, well dressed with pickled onions and queso and green salsa. She said they were delicious. One friend ordered the chicken & waffles, which she said was good. The chicken was fried perfectly and and waffle was crisp. The downfall for her was the rosemary butter that is on the waffle. You really need to like rosemary to enjoy this flavor with the chicken and waffle...odd combination. The syrup was good, had a strong orange flavor to it. Note to self...get the potato tacos next time! Got to taste from a friend and they are wonderful! The potatoes are seasoned so well and the tacos come with a yummy cilantro-lime sour cream. We sat outside on the patio and it was noisy between the people and music but overall a great experience! It was fun to watch as other orders came to tables to see all of the spectacular dishes they create. Another visit (or several!) for sure!

My friends and I decided to try Salt on June 27, 2024, on a very hot afternoon, for lunch. None of us had been there and loved the decor. We sat at a huge table for 3 of us, and ordered a cocktail each. The 3 stars are really for the cocktails because they were so incredible and deserved 5 stars. Their bartender that afternoon was a true artist and we told her as much. Perfection!!However, the food was not so great. I had the Vampire quesadilla which came swimming in cheese and grease, for $22.50. The consommé had little to no flavor and was mostly grease. There was little shredded beef and was thick with gummy cheese.The quesadilla was so greasy that the tortilla was gummy. On top of it, it gave me a stomach ache and I was in the bathroom the rest of the afternoon.My friends liked their taco salad and chicken tacos so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. My lunch was expensive and not much flavor. Drinks for the win!Sorry but I won't be back unless only having drinks.

Being a late night person, I love places that have reverse happy hour with discounted drinks and food. This Salt Tacos y Tequila location is located at SanTan Village in Gilbert. A group of us were in the area and came here for late night food and drinks. Even for a weekday, the atmosphere here was lively. Salt Tacos serves traditional Mexican food with a modern twist. They are most known for their handcrafted margaritas and for having 150 different types of tequila. Reverse happy hour (8pm - Close) has discounted food including half off select appetizers and $20 almost bottomless margaritas, mimosas, palomas and Bloody Marys with purchase of food. Salt Tacos also has a special menu for Taco Tuesdays and brunch. We got the Macho Nacho which ended up being a beast of an appetizer and way more food than we could handle. I do love the Dia De Los Muertos decorations everywhere. Cool place to hang out if you are looking for some late night eats.

Eh just okay, it's way too loud in there and not great. Would I come back I may e for happy hour. Serbia's good. They do t have egg whites, that's a negative for me!

This place was so great and fun atmosphere!We came in here during black Friday shopping for a bite and they were hoping and the service was spot on!

Salt Tacos y Tequila is a modern style Mexican cuisine and it's the 2nd location to open up in the Valley. The first location was in Glendale.We came in a while back to see a celebrity DJ perform that was suppose to arrive at 10 AM and ended up not showing up until after 1:30 PM! That was a little disappointing to be honest. Anyway, while killing time; started with their expresso martini and it was excellent. Then ordered their chicken wings which was a mistake cause they were not good. Very woody tasting (freezer burn & bone) dry & small. Would not order them again. Entertainment was great and worth the wait as my son was invited to interact with the host. I'm wanting to go back in the future to try their main menu in a more relaxed atmosphere and maybe try the appetizer nacho 'cause those looked really bomb! Service and staff were spot on with their accommodations to such a large crowd for the venue they hosted. If you are a huge fan of tequila 150 different types of it plus many margs! Shoot, I really want to give 4 stars but I think 3 is more honest. I understand this establishment is a little 'fancier' but I just hating paying for chips and salsa at a mexican restaurant. The few dollars is not a big deal, it's just not my fave. Our server was adorable. Maybe not in a rush but honestly that was nice bc sometimes I feel like they are racing to get you out for their next table. He made sure we enjoyed our time. And the place is super cute. And I'm not sure what nights but they did have a dj there when we were there so it's a pretty vibey, fun restaurant. I got the cheese enchiladas with both red & green sauce. The rice was really good & the beans were pretty ok ((kinda dry)). My husband loved their carne asada burrito. Our party also ordered a chimichanga and the taco salad and they liked it. Honestly, if someone wants us to meet there I would but it's not first on our radar. But if you do go check out their nachos!! They looked amazing!!

We finally decided to check this place out & were not disappointed! Sucks that you have to pay for chips but whatever. They were pretty good. Me and hubby both got the vampire tacos (similar to barilla) and they were great! I had a house marg, it was ok but super small and he had a beer. We'll be back - Ashley was a great server! We saw some nachos walk by and they were big enough for an entire family!

Group of 8 - 4 adults and 4 kids dined for lunch and we were promptly seated and given enough space for all of the kids which was a plus.Our waiter was good, very attentive and accommodating to our requests. Kids enjoyed their food and the coloring. Drinks were decent, food was okay, maybe we just picked the wrong items. Will give it another shot at another time.

My partner and I love coming here for the food, margaritas, and ambiance. Tonight, our server was Tony and he was amazing! He was friendly, prompt, checked on us, brought us a box without us asking, was timely with our check--it made our night! I love it when the food and service is awesome!
