Portofino West Ristorante Italiano

Our first time here. I read the reviews prior. Clean, quiet and excellent service. It's as fine of an authentic Italian Ristorante as we have found in Surprise. Chianti wine, house brushcetta, simple green salad served nicely on a chilled plate. The husband had the portobello ravioli and I had the beef canelloni. Both were tender, well seasoned and delicious. Was this the finest meal we have ever had? No. But it was a good meal at a decent price with excellent service. We will definitely be back with friends! Give it a try!

My wife and I went here Saturday night for date night we ordered fried calamari it was excellent I had veal parmigiana made perfect my wife had veal Marsala she loved it we split tiramisu everything was excellent definitely will be coming back old school Italian made the way it's supposed to be.

We booked the back room for a Surprise Party for my husband, invited about 30 guests.The proprietors of Portofino West, are always so upbeat and accommodating.. allowed us in the room ahead of time to decorate it to the hilt. The service is always superb, and our server did a fantastic job of overseeing the entire group. Whenever we have a special event we know we can always count on PORTOFINO's to do an outstanding job.This is our NO.1, SHOWCASE restaurant!!!

One of the better Italian restaurants in the Sun Cities area. Excellent service and food, coupled with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu pricing on appetizers and entrees is moderately high, but the restaurant frequently runs promotional coupons and also offers early dining opportunities for substantial savings. I am a number one fan of their traditional spaghetti gravy. My sister and I took advantage of the buy-one-entree-get-one-half-off coupon. We both ordered their cannelloni. I don't think there is anything on their menu that I wouldn't equally enjoy. Best to make reservations if you intend to dine after 5 p.m.

Me and my husband live close by and have been wanting to come try this spot. I am so happy we did. It started off with complimentary brucetta very fresh, and the bread was soft. Then we got zuchinni, which was nice and thick, lightly coated. Then, we had a tomato basil soup made in house. I had the Lasagna my noodles were al dente had the crisp and the flavor was delish. My husband had the veal Parmigiano he loved it. For dessert, we had this deliciousness. I do not recall what, but the flavor was raspberry they buy locally, which I love. The service was amazing, the staff was great. The ambiance was cozy, clean, and perfect.

My oh my, absolutely delicious!! Date night with my sweetheart... white table cloth with soft opera in the background.Every single server, hostess and the atmosphere was delightful!Chicken Marsala over pasta, my husband said he would have ordered a second plate if he wasn't being good! (Trying to loose weight) "Special off menu" Salmon Florentino over pasta... very filling I could not finish and happy to take the leftovers home!Dessert was shared and a perfect ending of our date night!

Ignore any negative reviews about this restaurant. Some people don't know what excellent Italian cooking is about. The staff are all warm and friendly! Ignore bad comments about staff. There are no cooks that will prepare better dishes. Our first visit and everything we ate was perfect. We also ordered more to take home. This will be our only Italian restaurant we will go to from this day forward. Ambiance is not important. Experience is. Laid back casual with older decor. Who cares the food is so delicious take your time relax and be glad you found this restaurant. You possibly might find one as good but will never find a cook that is better. Finally found the best and will not look for any other Italian restaurant. Relaxing music friendly service great eggplant dishes and excellent veal parmigiana and mozzarella sticks and sauce. The food here is heavenly. If you go anywhere else you made a very bad decision. If you think the negative comments are true then you don't have a clue what this family owned restaurant is about. It's not fancy! The food was heavenly perfect as was the evening 5 PM RESERVATION. My compliments to the chef. Live long and prosper. Birthdays and holidays this is the place to come and enjoy authentic old school Italian cooking. Wow !

Its true, if u want modern ambiance go to scottsdale.If u want a good italian meal from a local restaurant, check out portofino's.We are lucky to have them in sun city west, a nice change from all the chain restaurants

We just had a wonderful 85th birthday celebration at Portofino's with 20 guests. The event could not have gone smoother and the food could not have tasted any better. The staff took such good care of us.Thank You Portofino's!
