The food and service was great and reminded me of home in Chicago. Parking is not great unless the motel leaves you alone and allows you to park anywhere. I will be back for sure especially for the Dutch apple pancake.

I'm going to have to give this place a strong 1 star.Let me say it took me the whole day to think about this genuinely because my visit today to the Original Pancake House reminded me of eating at a restaurant during segregation. Let me set the scene for you all.. I am a light complexion of brown and my husband has more melanin then I do. We were greeted by Lani at the front which tried to seat us right away at a table I politely asked Lani would it be okay if we sat at a booth we were told it might be a 10 min wait and peoplelooked as if they were finishing up. My husband was okay with sitting at a table but that wasn't were I was most comfortable the restaurant had a nice booth next to the window where I noticed a couple was grabbing there things to leave. We let out waitress Marina (Middle aged non white woman) know once they left was it okay if we sat at their booth she said yes that's perfect she already knew we weren't comfortable at the table they had seated us at. Marina then told Connie (General/District Manager an old white woman) once the couple left her table 28 would move to the booth Connie then says "NO I got these people waiting for tables a group of 4" Then comes to our table and says "Your going to sit right there it's "better" for "2 people" being I work in the food industry I understood her logic. As Marina took our order Connie is staring and hovering over our Waitress listening to everything we ordered as soon as we finished Connie begins to tell us grab your stuff and she grabs our drinks and moves them to the booth in the back next to the kitchen...Again I was still okay at this time I understood her logic because I work in the food industry... This is where Ms. Connie lost me... my husband points out that She felt that and Older White Couple had the right to be able to have a window booth that she previously said that we couldn't sit there because it's for a party of 4 when it was just a (older white) couple that left and made the booth available...once he noticed what Connie had done he looks at Connie and she says "OH SHIT".....My husband is not a confrontational person and neither am I so when Lani asked how everything went when checking out we didn't even want to say anything because it would just be a mess of our word against Connie's and she couldn't care less how our experience went and don't get me wrong the food was good but if you want to feel like we are still segregated please by all means eat there..Marina tried her hardest to make OUR FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE BETTER after CONNIE RUINED IT but honestly how can you get better after that Connie honestly made me and my husband feel how our ancestors felt when they were putting in all the hard work for African Americans to have the same rights as White people and it's really sad Connie still has the mindset she never even came back to check on us after she moved us to the back of the restaurant...If that doesn't sound like a blast from the past in segregation...I would be lying and say the sky is red...

Solid 3. My introduction to the Original Pancake House was years ago near Milwaukee. This one did not meet that standard. Parking is limited. The wait was fine to be seated. We waited a very long time for our food, and one item was forgotten until we reminded the waitress that we ordered a cinnamon roll when food started to come out. She hadn't been back to the table for us to remind her before. Food didn't come out at the same time for the two of us in the party. There was a 5 minute delay between my food and my brother's meal, and his came out in a couple of deliveries. The cinnamon roll is compared to happiness in their flyer for it. Meh. I wouldn't order it again. It was very soft, not like a typical cinnamon roll texture. The frosting was too cream cheesy for my taste. My croissant sandwich -- it was fine, but the waitress wasn't sure that I would be able to substitute bacon for the ham that is in the description. She was very concerned that would not be possible, and she had to talk to her boss. That just seemed like an odd statement to me instead of, "I'll check." I regret not getting the French toast or crepes. Maybe my food experience would have been better. Overall, there are better breakfast joints in Phoenix. They do offer real maple syrup. That is a big plus.

Dare I say these are the best pancakes in the WORLD?! Cause OMG they were incredible! TOPH is an easy to miss old school style diner in Old Town Scottsdale. We were immediately greeted and invited to sit at the bar as they were pretty busy, even on a Thursday mid-morning. Our server was very friendly and offered suggestions before we settled on the cheese and ham omelette and corned beef hash with 2 eggs. Both plates automatically came with buttermilk pancakes (YUM!). I don't normally order pancakes but I cleaned my plate. Breakfast was good but the pancakes were the star of the show!So if you find yourself in the area and want to try the best pancakes in the WORLD, stop by The Original Pancake House. You won't be disappointed!

The Original Pancake House is a nostalgic institution offering delicious homemade breakfast. Love the peacock blue booths and clean environment. Service was promoted and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. They were very helpful offering suggestions. Loved chatting with Connie and Ron, the owner. Can see they have many regulars and head a lady who moved away but came back today to eat. Enjoyed listening and seeing the community spirit. We ordered the mushroom omelette, spinach omelette (comes with 3 buttermilk pancakes or for a few dollars can upgrade to special pancakes) and blueberry pancakes with a side of bacons. The omelette was so fluffy. Ron told us they beat the eggs in a blender and then bake it in the oven for at least 20 minutes. One of the best omelettes I've ever had and con compared it to top hotel restaurant quality. The mushroom sauce with sherry was great and added another level to the omelette. The buttermilk pancakes were light and fluffy and didn't have that baking soda after taste. Really enjoyed my breakfast and hoping to come back before the end of my vacation in Scottsdale.

There's a reason the word "pancake" is in their name. Omg the pancakes are amazing. Coffee was great too. Love the atmosphere, service was wonderful, we'll be going back often.

You know you're in for something good when the line is out the door and the local you strike up a chat with tells you this is a favorite place. Hawaiian pancakes? Yes please! Eggs Michael, their version of Eggs Benedict: potato pancakes, poached eggs, delicious sauce! Corn beef hash was yummy. Our server was fabulous! Bright and colorful setting wakes you up just like coffee. The wait only 15 minutes. The line never stopped! A new favorite stop in Scottsdale!

Went her for breakfast on Saturday, August 3, 2024. The food was very cold. pancakes, waffles and eggs. They ran out of hash browns at 10am so we ordered the potatoes which were cold and old. We sent the food back and when they brought the potatoes back they were still cold but the kitchen didn't seem to care. I will never come here again. But the waitress was very nice and tried to help, but it's the management and kitchen that are the problem.

A little taken back by a few things about this place. First...easy to locate and a really nice staff! The food was ok, however, come on people ...the whole EGG THING is getting out of control!!! I ordered the pancake meal which was $12.95, $ 1 for egg whites and another$1.00 for eggs. You read that correctly!!! REALLY!!! My Friend ordered a Strawberry waffle which cost $12.95 for 1 waffle with Strawberries, and cool whip, no sides but, because waffles are MADE WITH eggs there's another$2.00 charge! It's not that $1.00, is a lot but, it's the principle of it all!!! This is out of hand honestly!!! Anyway, it's outdated inside with small booths and tables but food is ok so if you're ok paying for anything made with eggs (not included in the price) then, yes it's a go otherwise, Choose your egg battles elsewhere
