"After finishing a nice 2.5 mile loop hike at Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, Jim, Erin, Gayle and I drove into Cave Creek and enjoyed a very pleasant outdoor lunch at the somewhat ecclectic Grotto Cafe. We found it on Yelp and were not disappointed! The Grotto Cafe system works by ordering your food and beverage at a counter and then having it delivered at your table, either inside or outside. As it was such a nice day, we found a nice shaded outdoor area and relaxed while watching the lunch crowd go by. We did have to guard our chairs as we all didn't sit down at once. I had a Cuban and a beer (pictured), while I lost track of what the other choices were as I was in deep concentration over my most delicious sandwich. We all were quite pleased with our selections and promised to return if we were ever in the area again."

"This under the radar coffee shop is fantastic. The space is fantastic for working on your laptop or socializing. The spot is just on the side off Grand Ave. and feels cool and modern. The space is bright and lined with cool photographs and art. There is ample seating to either sit alone or with others. The staff here is great. Every time I have gone the baristas have been very friendly and helpful. I've told them what kind of drink I'm feeling like and they point me towards something very, very flavorful that hits the spot. I recommend the bizou. This coffee drink has a hint of honey in it that makes your standard iced coffee even better. The chai is also great and easily beats out any that I've had at other cafes. The signage isn't super clear on the building so be sure to look out for the pop up sign on the sidewalk. The spot is to the left of Bacanora a few doors down. Parking is pretty easy around the cafe with street parking and a big lot between Grand and 15th."
"Great lil hidden gem. Came across Lunch Tome Cafe when I was looking for food near my new job. I've tried breakfast sandwiches as well as lunch and both are delish. My coworkers are even hooked now. They knew nothing about this place until I found it. We have now made it a point to grab breakfast or lunch here a few times a month. Very good spot"
"Is it the best bakery in Phoenix as several articles have highlighted? I don't quiet think so, but it is a good one. Ordered the following things (in order of best to least): bacon and egg + chicken pot pie mini pies, strawberry croissant (vegan), almond croissant. I definitely recommend the first three, but the almond croissant I've had better. Big plus to staff who was super friendly. Definitely would try one of their other locations to see if there's anything different."
"Was in the area and had to swing by and check it out! This place did not disappoint, I had the mazapan latte and it was super delicious! I wish I had a crepe because others around me had one and it looked yummy. Looking forward to coming back and getting one and trying a new latte flavor. The two ladies working were super sweet and knew both English and Spanish."
"Delicious coffee. The bagels are always so fresh. The staff is patient, there are a lot of choices..... today I got the breakfast bagel with bacon (you can get ham, Canadian bacon, fried bologna, omg the list is so long, basically whatever you'd want on a breakfast bagel they got it! We also got a Happy Wrap- turkey and avocado. It was ok (lots of avocado) I love avocado but it was a little too much The cannoli was soooo good. Oh and the Greek pasta salad. It came with a small side.... It was THE BEST! I actually went back in and got a 1lb container to take with me to work. Outside and indoor seating."
"I love how one Yelper Sabine T wrote," this stunning cafe comes to our desert from another desert around the world (the UYE)." This is a coffee shop established in the UAE since 2018, and cool to have this here in Phoenix! Tonight, after yoga class, I needed to catch up on some work and I was in Tempe. This coffee shop came up in my searches as closing late and this has been a place on my list to visit, so I popped in around 7pm.The place is very close to ASU and in a shopping plaza with lots of other stores. Ample parking available in shared lot. The place is very inviting and spacious. It's probably one of the most diverse places I have been here in Phoenix. Lots of students too and many studying. I love the ambiance here, lots of cool lights and decorations (including sculpture monkeys hanging off ropes with lights). And the music they played was poppy, happy music, almost identical to my own play list. The workers here are very friendly and helpful. The woman that took my order was very sweet. I wanted to try the karak chai and she gave me a sample of it. It's a bit like Indian chai with lots of spices and not sweet at all. I loved it!I also tried the Dubai chocolate as I saw lots on social media about it. For close to $9, I think next time I'll pass. It's kind of a novelty and curiosity got to me haha. It's pistachio flavored and it's really good, but you have to consume it immediately as it will melt. I didnt know that, so by time I wanted to eat more of it, it had mostly melted on my plate! When it's melted, it tastes a bit like a pistachio flavored Nutella.I enjoyed getting work done here and I sat at a high top seat facing the parking lot as there were outlets available there. The coffee shop has good traffic in and out, was clean and just a great atmosphere to work. And it's open until midnight on weeknights and 1am on weekends! I'll definitely be back again! Great addition near ASU campus!"
"7 years since the last review. I did not ever live here yet!Hillside Spot has consistently been the best place to eat for us over the last 7 years! We have tried almost everything on the menu and have not found one thing wrong, or lacking in any way with any of the meals we were served. My favorite is the 50/50. I like to get a sandwich or salad with whatever soup they are serving that month. Again have always been impressed with whatever the soup is and adding a salad or sandwich to the makes it just the right amount of food. I am diabetic and my hubby is pre-diabetic, so the most wonderful thing for us is that we can order great-tasting food and not worry about our blood sugars getting out of control. Yes, we try to stay away from fries, chips, etc but Hillside offers fruit or salad as great alternative sides to choose from. Although their fries are delicious, we will share them once in a while. Choices! That is what we love most about Hillside Spot.Service is always good. I like that they hover on the periphery and are not interrupting with questions, but are there when needed. Finally the beer list. The beer selection is very good. Hubby likes to have one once in a while and the selection is great. Even have Wren House!"
"I used to take trips to California to visit friend's and to also swing by 85! I am loving all the asian places in the 99 Ranch plaza. I always fill up my tray with the Hot Dog Cheese bread. Warm it up and it tastes even better! My go to drink is the Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea. But their seasonal drinks are always a hit. Recently loving the Taro Lavender Latte and the Matcha Mango Latte. They're so sweet and refreshing! Download the app and sign up for the rewards!"
"Wow wow wow!!!The spinach and goat cheese quiche was amazing. Best quiche I've ever had. Light and fluffy and plenty of goat cheese and spinach. Perfect balance of flavors. The side of hash browns is perfectly crispy and buttery. Again spot on. The side salad dressing was delicious and freshThe crab eggs benedict is also very delicious. The English muffin was crispy and well toasted and the crab flavor was delicious. The hollandaise sauce I loved. Compliment the crab perfectly. The coffees were also good. The Americano and cappuccino. The Apple Normandy tart was amazing as well. Flaky and buttery crust and cherry flavor and apples? So so good!!! Service was excellent. Dog friendly patio.Best breakfast we have had in Scottsdale so far!!"

This was my first visit to the Grotto, it is very popular, and therefore busy! The patio is dog friendly which I love, they even have special treats in the mailbox for your furry friends! The food came out fast, I had a BLT, the bacon was cooked perfectly, tomatoes were ripe, and the lettuce crisp! It was delicious! Hubby had the Cuban sandwich, he really enjoyed it as well! I subbed the chips for sweet potato fries, they tasted house made, and were some of the best I've had! Service was attentive, even though they were busy, nothing was overlooked.

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon really chill easy street parking.Love the vibe and aesthetic of this place - very unique. I'm not the biggest coffee drinker so asked for a recommendation. The barista was very friendly and walked us through what we liked etc. we settled on the shakerato and a Lumio matcha latte. Don't really remember how he broke it down but they were both amazing. Coffee was fruity and strong but not overbearing, and the latte was complex with orange blossom honey and high quality matcha. Both drinks were 10/10 and $13 for both of them.Highly recommend this nice vibe, great drinks.

What a cute little bakery this is!!And the food is good here! My partner wanted to check this place out and we were both really happy with this visit! And we'll be back often!Guy at the counter was super friendly and nice! We ordered a few mini pies (all chorizo and egg) and they were just delicious! Well made and definitely hit the spot! This place makes English/New Zealand style pies and really yummy! And a lot of mini options, which I love! There a few tables outdoors also, so next time, we'll bring the pup! Check this place out! Really yummy pies of all kinds!

Gratitude. Grateful to find this sweet spot after my 5K this morning. Grateful for the time and effort, put into the decoration and layout of the restaurant . Grateful for the outstanding customer service. Grateful for the cleanliness. Grateful for the creativity and care put into my two amazing crêpes. Grateful for the talent of the musicians that were playing there this morning. I had the Nutella crêpe which has bananas, strawberries, Nutella and whipped cream, as well as the spinach crêpe, which also has ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, drizzled with a yummy and slightly spicy sauce. Both crêpes were so good, and I highly recommend this place to everyone!

I absolutely love DJs bagels. Whenever I need my bagel fix I will go there for one of their bagel sandwiches at breakfast time or their coffee. Their bagels are always fresh and crispy. It's always extremely busy. The tables are always packed. They do have some chairs outside and the parking lot is full. Their salads are delicious and their cream cheese which is freshly made is also thick and creamy. Staff is attentive and they get your order ready quickly. You're able to sit down and have a cuppa coffee and a chat with whomever you may be with. Very casual breakfast brunch lunch place.

What a great addition to Tempe's coffee scene! I've had the chance to visit Shaghf Cafe a few times now and it's such a unique coffee meet up.A little ducked off of the Main Street of Apache in a strip mall, this cozy spot has the sweetest baristas. The service is always great and they have so many selections I can't wait to try more. I've still yet to try any of their food items but they look so delish! It's aesthetic, it's cute, it's delicious, and it's got culture. What more could you ask for in a coffee shop!

"Delicious breakfast! Party of two seated immediately on a busy weekend morning. We both absolutely loved our breakfast of the double crunch breakfast tacos, and breakfast sandwich and my son loved his coffee drink. Service was very quick and friendly. Bathrooms were clean. What More could you ask for? Would definitely come again"
"The service here was very amiable. I tried out their Monterey club and kale tonic. First off, the kale tonic was way too sweet. I expected it to taste more like kale. But it tasted like apple juice with sugar and a hint of kale in it. The Monterey Club was delicious. The food is pretty good, but not mind-blowing. My whole order came out to $19.09 (including tax and tip)."
"Very nice restaurant with a comfortable feel. It's an indoor outdoor place. Comfortable inside and bar that leads to a tree covered outside patio. The staff was on point and our waitress was always there when we needed her. Parking is limited but they do have free valet. It's busy around noon but clears out after 1:30 on weekdays. The food was excellent. We had the green chile burger, the Hawaiian blackened swordfish, Caesar salad, and chicken tortilla soup. All were excellent. The swordfish got rave reviews. Excellent fresh cuisine in a comfortable upscale environment to hangout or impress friends."
"I saw this place on ticktock and well because I love coffee I gave it a try. First the place is big they have plenty of sitting space inside out in the front and out in the back. Looks like they allow pets a saw a costumer with his pet. There was a little of multi tasking from the staff and that can create a some confusion. We had to make two transactions as there was staff changing tasks. I did not got to try any pastries as they didn't look very fresh. I would give this place another try just to try another coffee. I tried la Guerita and it was a good coffee. My husband as usual improvised and got an americano with a scoop of vanilla ice cream."
"What a delightful place. It's a happy space with great service. Food is homemade and tasty. Full line of Starbucks drinks for your morning coffee stop. Best part is their training program helps people learn a skill and get a job, and proceeds go to UMOMs services."
"Loved the vibe. Very cute and cozy space with friendly chatter from staff and diners alike.Loved that they offer a half portion of the eggs Benedicts as I sometimes have trouble finishing meals. Very tasty!"
"This place is outstanding. I am a UPX employee, and you have to be one or know one (hint hint) to have access....but man, you want access haha. They offer so many food stations, from healthy eats (yes please) to a make-your-own-pizza area. My favorite combo is when I hit up the Salad bar and fill up on salmon and greens combos, along with a nice warm fresh soup. They make four soups EACH day! Another good option is either a healthy bean burger or their fresh fish of the day...yes they have a number of fish options! They have to feed a lot of people, so its a lot of options to go around. Its amazing that they have such a healthy push at the cafe. I work across the street where they have a horrific greasy fast food joint. Sadly most people on this side prefer the burgers they push out...ick. But at this Rev Cafe they push a lot of healthier options on everyone, especially as you walk in. As a health-nut, this is fantastic in my eyes, I wish you saw it more in general. It might give people the chance to see the "lighter side" of life and cooking. If you have a friend who works at UPX, and you happen to want to meet up for lunch, you will find something to eat, for a relatively low price made with high quality ingredients right here!"
"I've been here twice and wish I give more than five stars as I tend not to be a breakfast gal. The food was fantastic, the service was spot on. Michelle was our server and she was amazing! Bonus Good coffee. If your looking for a great breakfast this is the place."
"I met one of my friends here for work. It is located a little bit out there West of Phoenix. Looks like an industrial area but the people who work out there need to eat too. Many people have posted pictures of the menu but I zoomed in on a couple interesting sandwiches ASU Sundevil pastrami and USC Trojan pastrami (see photo), both are likely good but I was there for breakfast so I got the chorizo omelet which was very tasty with good flavor. Not too spicy but very good.Good option if you happen to be in the area. The staff was very friendly as well."
"My husband and I both had Cafe de Bangkok bookmarked for quite some time and finally got the opportunity to stop by for dinner. We had gone in the late afternoon, around 4:30pm on a Saturday. As expected, they weren't very busy but had more people comeing in as it grew closer to 5pm.Our sever made some recommendations from their menu; we went with the Yellow Curry with chicken (mild / medium), Guay Teaw Nam Tok (hot), and roti bread. The curry was nice and thick with a good amount to chicken and potatoes, it also had really good flavor. I typically don't like much spice but agreed with the recommended mild/medium spice level as it added a nice kick. My husband really enjoyed the noodle soup. It had a nice broth that had a good balance of spiciness and tartness, it came with a nice filling amount of noodles and pork/meatballs.Overall, we were very satisfied with our food. Their menu consists of a lot of the traditional items you'd expect to see at a Thai restaurant but they have some that I've never heard of before as well. I'm looking forward to returning to dine here again!"
"I don't live near here, but wanted to find out what the buzz about this San Diego chain was all about. This Phoenix location is the first in Arizona for Better Buzz Coffee. I came here not too long after their opening when the lines were still a little crazy. I feel that they were efficient in moving the line as best as they could. Better Buzz Coffee serves a variety of handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks, teas, cold brews, smoothies, pastries and grilled sandwiches. The location has a drive-thru or you can sit and enjoy your drink inside. They have a lot of merchandise like hats, shirts and mugs, They also sell their coffee products to make at home. Better Buzz Coffee offers canned energy drink flavors called Buzz Energy. I was intrigued by their Moroccan Spice and Horchata Lattes, but opt for their classic Best Drink Ever. I wouldn't call it the best, but I did my first drink from here. I read that they are opening a location in the East Valley (close to home) and look forward to trying new flavors there."
"Great atmosphere great beers and great music! Def recommend stopping by here if you are up in cave creek"
"This rating is for breakfast only. Busy AJ and East Mesa favorite located on the North side of Apache Trail.Parking is largely an unmarked dirt lot on the east side of the building with a few paved Handicap spaces. Atmosphere is dated country kitchen with a fair sized dining area with tables. Unfortunately this place is crazy busy for good reason so expect 30+ minutes waits during peak hours.Group and large parties can reserve the party room in the rear. This area is staffed separately including bar service which is where our Red Friday's group used to meet. Menu is breakfast, lunch and dinner with all day breakfast. My pick and their patrons favorite is the Biscuits and Gravy. An order is all I can eat. Service is friendly and I've never seen servers hustling like here.Despite a long wait in the main dining area my score is for service and excellent country breakfast!$$"
"This place has been on my bookmark list forever. Decided to check this one off the list and drive from the east valley. Upon pulling in, it's in a plaza, and the shop isn't marked with great signage, but look for the patio seating outside. Also, with the long drive, the restrooms are locked, and you'll need to ask for the key. It's either side of the Mexican food restaurant or their bakery that will have the key. If not, the employee said you can wait outside for the key to come out from another person. Seems like they need to have a key for both sides and not share it between the two concepts. I ordered the dirty matcha and the strawberry lemonade. Both were pretty good and not too overpowered with sweetness. Pairing the drinks with desserts, the pop tart is more like a struddle with light layers of puff pasty. It's definitely worth getting this one again! The Concha was really good, too, and honestly, it was my first time trying one since I've had my dairy allergy 20+ years ago. Very light and bread-like with not too sweet icing. The chocolate sea salt cookie was okay, not my favorite. Thicker and denser but had a good hit of salt with each bite. It's worth a shot. Give them a try!"
"We placed an order for takeout and something was all out; the owner called me immediately and let me know so my order wouldn't be delayed. Then, I picked up the order and when I got back to the office, she called to say she left something off by accident. I went back to pick it up and she was SUPER apologetic and gave me a drink of my choice on the house. Even with the little hiccups in the order, she made it right and honestly the food was great! Will absolutely continue to patron."
""Avocado, what makes you think you're so holy? You're gonna be guacamole before too long. " (Weird Al, parody of "Desperado") Much like my own inner circle, this cafe is quirky, welcoming, and comfortable to hang out with. It also provides a cool respite for those melting in the scorching Arizonan summer heat (It's a dry heat, they said!)Thirsty and exhausted from our walk, my girlfriend and I stumbled across Inner Circle where we cooled down with an iced tea and the most heavenly blended cherry mocha. It was neither overly sweet, nor did it have an unpleasant artificial aftertaste. It's not on the main menu, but ask for it!While loafing with our drinks, we decided we needed toast--a pre-lunch snack, or "snunch", if you will! My friend ordered the Avocado Toast, topped with tomatoes, cucumber, and sprouts, while I ordered the Nutella/Banana Toast. Both were smallish, tasty portions with thin toast, fitting the bill nicely. Eclectic art on the walls combined with conversation piece coffee mugs that instructed one to "Do epic $*!t" and "Let that $*!t go" served up humorous entertainment during our meal. Properly refueled, we left on our merry way, keeping in mind our new motto: Do epic $*!t, let that $*!t go, and come here with your inner circle."
"Saw this place on Instagram had to go visit!Extremely cute and quaint local owned shop.So many options of bagel, spreads, and sandwiches. My wife got the cinnamon raisin bagel with butter and cinnamon sugar. I tried the French Toast Bagel. Highly recommend trying absolutely delicious."
"Scottsdale Bible Church, located at Shea and 76th Street, is a large beautiful campus with a great cafe! Park and then follow the palm tree lined walkway to the cute cafe. It's a roomy space offering quick service breakfast and lunch. (Online, I see that they have a cafe at their Fountain Hills and North Ridge locations as well, but the menus are limited and only open on Sunday mornings.)My breakfast sandwich was yummy! It was ham, egg, cheese, and chipotle sauce on a brioche bun. I had an infused red bull, but they have a full coffee bar. They also offer salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, and kid's small plates. There are plenty of tables inside and out. The cafe is also a bookstore with plenty of faith-based reading. I don't know what it looks like the rest of the year but there are beautiful displays of holiday items to shop lining the cafe. I've said it before, but churches have great cafes. Added bonus: there are always some great discussions going on around you"
"Driftwood is so cute and quiet. The neighborhood is exactly the same! Clean, quiet, down the street from the shop is a community center, behind the shop is a completely shaded play area with tables and chairs to lounge while the kids play. The area is almost complete fenced in which was my favorite part of the location. Haha the seasonal coffees are very creative. I tried, "The Remix" and to my delighted surprise, there were real peanuts in the bottom. The pastries are from a local bakery and very flavorful. Jacob, from Mystic Coffee in Gilbert is one of the roasters at this shop and then it made sense why the coffee itself was so good. Haha The handcrafted drinks take a little longer than your average coffee shop but will not disappoint."
"Met up with my dear friend for some chat and food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Service was awesome, food was awesome, and love it! The Oink Cafe French Toast was the best French toast ever! She even offered us beverages to take with us! The sausage patties were good, scrambled eggs, I added an extra egg."
"When I say it's a cozy place I mean that in a very good way. You walk in and are instantly greeted and feel welcomed. A great staff that's super friendly (taught one how to 2-step last night) and they made us feel like we had been coming there forever. Great selection of drinks and food. Can't wait to come back again very soon!"
"I know I should have ordered breakfast, but I'm always searching for the perfect reuben. I didn't find it this time around, but Biscuit's version isn't too bad. The sauerkraut was pretty mellow and the thousand island dressing was ok. The bread had a good crunch to it, but was pretty oily. The corned beef was tender and only a smidge dry. The onion rings were ok, nothing really remarkable about them. All that aside, the staff is really nice and I'll be back to check out the breakfast items."
