I have history with Steve's Krazy Sub. I grew up about 2 miles East of this place and started hitting it up at least weekly by 11th grade for lunch (back in 1992...I'm getting old.) After trying a few different sandwich options, I found that I enjoyed the hot Poor Boy with everything on it the most. I fell in love with that sandwich and even asked my parents to cater the 4 foot or so version of it for my High School graduation. Then I went off to Tucson for college and moved to Tempe in 2000 and completely forgot to return to Steve's to say hi and get a tasty Poor Boy. Flash forward to 2020 and my parents still live in the same house and I decided to stop in to see if the Poor Boy was still exceptionally tasty. Hot Damn, it is still as excellent as it was back in 1992. The combination of oil, mustard and mayonnaise on the sandwich satisfies my taste buds like few other sandwiches are able to do. I wish I could provide feedback on their other sandwiches, but I can't pull myself away from the hot Poor Boy. The staff told me Steve retired and his family runs it now. They're all friendly and it makes me a little sentimental, knowing that Steve's is still in great hands.Go try the hot Poor Boy and hell, try any other sandwich. I doubt you'll be disappointed. *Tip*They offer a lunch special with the sandwich. If you're a Potato Salad fan, opt for it instead of the chips. Also, the Diet Dr Pepper from the soda fountain was heavenly in 1992 and it still is in 2020!

I think prices have made them out less meat. I get their super meaty one and it just a few slices total. It's $12 sandwich, Haley no meat. Very unfortunate

This is my most favorite sub place, for a normal sub. Super fast, convenient and always taste fresh and delicious. The prices are perfect too. This place is always super clean and the staff is very friendly and pleasant. We live in Scottsdale, so it's a little ways in Mesa, but totally worth it. I recommend this sub shop over anywhere else for a flavorful and decent price sub.

It's either Steve's or Ned's. I am a Steve stan. Neds bread is sweet, too sweet, and it takes away from the rest of the sandwich. Love Steve's. From the sandwiches to the sweet kiddos who work there. Great place.

Not a bad place, but it's not in the best commercial center in Phoenix and it feels a bit run down when you arrive and enter. People are friendly, parking is good.The roast beef is almost a home run since it's made the way I like it. Really nice slices of beef, shredded lettuce, mayo, mustard, and tomatoes. Nice balance to everything. But...the bread was on the dry side and it made me wonder how good the sandwich could have been with fresher bread. I had a couple of bites of bliss but mostly disappointment in the end. I'll probably give the place another try and hope the bread issue was an outlier. If the bread is consistently good I can imagine myself eating here quite a bit.

I've been a customer of Ned's for YEARS and was never disappointed. It was always made the same. Now DoorDash delivers from Steve's and I've placed my last order. White bread was dry, bacon wasn't crisp and there were NO condiments on my sandwich. I ordered mayo, vinegar and oil and the bread was bone dry. It's the exact same scenario for my past 3 orders. I'm so disappointed with this. I miss Ned!!
