I enjoyed my dinner so much at this location that I hope King's Fish House back home ( San Diego) can measure up. This was my first time at the King's Fish House franchise and I was highly impressed, my waitress and hostess were so bubbly, I instantly became optimistic about the restaurant.I'm glad to write that the food matched the energy.Everything on the menu looked so appetizing,it was hard to narrow it down. For apps, I had the clam chowder and shrimp taquitos. The clam chowder was tasty. The shrimp taquitos were the only disappointment during this entire dinner , they fell flat but the presentation was gorgeous. For the main course, me and my partner had the macadamia crusted halibut and Parmesan crusted sand dabs . The fish tasted fresh and was accompanied lovely by the delicious crust and sauces and our sides were cooked to perfection. I'm sad I was too full to even attempt at dessert.I highly recommend giving this place a try.The restaurant is quite spacious, decorated beautifully and the bathrooms were spacious and very clean, now that's a bonus, we don't see often , even in the fancier restaurants.Once again, the food is delicious and to be paired with a bubbly and professional staff is really the cherry on top! Give this place a try! :)

Food good, service great, price ok and ambiance ok. We had a late lunch/early dinner at King's on Saturday. 4:30pm was an odd time so restaurant was mostly empty but people started coming in as we got to 5/5:30pm. Menu has good options so we chose the Shrimp Bucatini pasta, Wild Mexican Jumbo Shrimps with a side of mashed potatoes and sweet corn and the Balckened Wild Ono fish sandwich. We also ordered grilled artichoke for starters and just water for drinks. The grilled artichoke were ok. We ordered them without realizing that those were not artichoke "hearts" so there was barely anything to eat. The dipping sauce was so good. If those were artichoke hearts, this would have been a hit! Two of the three dishes were good, the fish sandwich and the grilled shrimp. The Bucatini pasta dish did not work for us. The flavors were somewhat off and the dish had seasoning that gave it a grainy texture. Even though it sounded good "on paper", it didn't taste the way we expected it to. Service was friendly and attentive. Jill did a great job! Ambience was not our favorite. Dark colors and felt a little dated. The restaurant however was clean, including the bathrooms. Prices are slightly on the higher side considering the portion size. For the three dishes and appetizer without the tip, $100.

Always a pleasant experience! When thinking of seafood near Tempe, think King's! From a warm welcome at the host station, to the fresh bread and butter served at the table, you feel truly welcomed. A daily menu updates you on the fresh seafood available that day, as well as refreshing drinks to be had. Nice selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. The environment is classy-coastal getaway. Old-school traditional. The fish on the wall are eye-catching and educational. But the oysters and seafood truly steal the show. Service is attentive, fast, and timely. If you happen to be there for a business lunch, let them know if it's a casual or timed lunch. Service will adjust accordingly. Our favorites include the Chilean Sea Bass, oysters, anything on the dessert menu! You can't go wrong!

My favorite lunch spot in Tempe!!! I love coming here after I've been shopping at Tempe marketplace! The food is always delicious and service is 10/10. I love the costal theme the restaurant has and their crispy calamari is my go to order every time! I wasn't crazy about their chowder as it really wasn't chowder imo but more of a broth but otherwise 10/10 food!! Their wild ono sandwich is to die for!

Ordered fish and chips, fish is fresh and well battered. Not too grassy like many, and the fries are great. The coleslaw was ok for me, nees more flavor. Great service. The manager came by and asked how's the meal was. The ambiance is a typical seafood house with dark woods.

Overall, King's Fish House in Tempe is very mediocre. The good: The restaurant is large so we got a table right away (definitely didn't need our reservation). The serve complimentary warm sourdough bread and butter upon being seated. The Miso Yaki Wild Chilean Sea Bass was amazing and they even split the dish so my mom and I could share the entree. If you're contemplating a dessert, get the butter cake!! It was warm, salty, buttery, sweet and delicious. The sushi we ordered was delicious, especially the crispy leeks on top! The bad: The crispy calamari appetizer was fishy. Whenever we see calamari on an appetizer menu, we typically order it so we've had our fare share of good and bad calamari. This was one of the worst we've had -- good calamari isn't fishy so steer clear and don't order this. The grilled asparagus wasn't cooked long enough and too crunchy. The organic rainbow carrots were cut evenly causing some to be cooked perfectly and others to be very undercooked and crunchy. Overall, I'm glad we tried it, but I think King's Fish House is overrated and not worth the price.

Food was delicious, service was great. Being from the PNW and having fished in Alaska, I am somewhat of a seafood 'snob'. Being in the middle of a desert, I never expect truly great seafood, but Kings never disappoints. Always fresh and delicious. If your idea of good seafood is the usual dish and chips found around the valley, then stay away, but if you want truly great seafood, then this is your place.
