I used to come here all the time but lately it's turned into a dive. Last night my boyfriend took me there to celebrate a special day. The language barrier with our server made it impossible to communicate. He was a kind man, but he was extremely slow with service. He rang us up for an expensive shrimp dinner that we didn't order and when my boyfriend pointed out that we didn't order it and our bill should be adjusted, he took the bill and then proceeded to bring it back unchanged. Then my boyfriend just gave him the card to check us out while I visited the ladies room. The stalls were so filthy, I've seen cleaner gas station restrooms. Repulsed, I just went back to the table while we waited an additional 30 minutes for our waiter to run the card, for the meal we were overpaying for. Never again. I will not ever return. What a nightmare.

Worst Indian restaurant I have ever dinned at. But I wouldn't call it dining. Had to send the food back twice and still could not eat it. Charged $44 (my half of the bill) for a meal I could not eat. Should have been comped the meal, but no. Expensive for unbeatable food. Do yourself a favor and eat any place else!Amviance? There was none. Service: sucked.

This place is my favorite Indian restaurant in Phoenix. They have delicious white meat chicken Tikka Masala, I really like their sauce. They do tend to run on the spicier side so I always get mild. Their portion sizes are on the small size but its a decent meal for one and I prefer quality over quantity. I have learned to always get my food to go. This is because the in person service is so slow, expect to be there for two hours even if there are only three other parties in the restaurant. The garlic gnann is good and the vegetable korma curry is a nice supplementation to the Tikka masala main dish.

It was a Saturday evening and we wanted a nice Indian place to celebrate a friend's birthday. Came here and saw it was totally deserted even on a Saturday when rest of the Scottsdale is lively even at midnight. Ordered some Veg Samosas, Shahi Paneer, Chana Masala, Dal Tadka and some assorted breads. The service was quick and the staff was very warm and friendly. The samosas and the Dal Tadka were nice, fresh and tasty but everything else was below par. The curries lacked taste and texture and the roti was too hard to chew. The place lacked cleanliness, the restrooms had dead cockroaches lying on the floor - can only hope the kitchen is clean but I doubt! Just because of the bad hygiene I won't recommend or visit this place again!

This restaurant hits all the right notes with an array of Indian curries. The butter chicken, garlic naans, and dal makhani are absolute must-tries. I have particularly enjoyed the themed cocktails. What sets this place apart is its attention to detail. Instead of the usual Bollywood beats, the ambience embraces elegance with classical tunes softly playing in the background. It creates a serene and sophisticated atmosphere that elevates the entire dining experience. But it's not just the food and ambience that shine here--the service is exceptional too. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to provide recommendations or answer any questions you may have. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor made us feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout our visit. Speaking of ambience, the restaurant's decor is tastefully done, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that adds a touch of coziness.

This Jewel was our go to Indian restaurant which served impeccable food for years. I can't remember a time when any other Indian restaurant could compare except perhaps L'Etoile De Kashmir in Paris which is comparable. I was happy that this restaurant survived the pandemic and knew that prices would be higher because of runaway inflation. But good food is costly now a days. We ordered a chicken biryani which tasted different than before. Fewer spices were used and the texture of the rice was different. Not bad but not like before. We also had chicken vindaloo ,a spicy dish. I asked for it spicier than usual. When it came it was not spicy at all and the flavors were not like before. With the vindaloo came white basmati rice and in tasting it I discovered the issue with the Biryani. The basmati rice which is usually fragrant and delicious tasted almost like regular rice; no fragrance with broken pieces. It was indeed basmati but basmati comes in various quaiities. Aged basmati is one of the best but this was clearly this was not it. The change is rice is a cost cutting measure but it was not a good idea.We enjoyed the roti and the freshly made papadum. After this meal, I will not be making the trek to this restaurant. It has become quite average and average restaurants are a dime a dozen.

Best Indian Restaurant in downtown Old Town Scottsdale. Food full of delicious flavors but could be spicier. Service was excellent friendly and fast. Very quiet relaxing environment but would be nice to have some soft playing tradition Indian music in the background.
