"Synopsis: Reminds me of delis back home in New York; great feel, kind folks, amazing sandwiches. Girlfriend and I are vacationing in the Phoenix area and wanted sandwiches while we visited the Botanical Garden and Zoo. We found this place while looking through recommendations. It's your traditional convenience store with a deli attached to it. The guys working the market were incredibly nice. We placed our orders quickly, pastrami sandwich and a club. Didn't do any sides but we did grab some unique chips and fountain drinks. Our sandwiches were done in about 5 minutes and were well worth the wait. We were thrilled with our stop at the 56th Street Deli. Between the food, the service, and the selection it was a great choice for our sandwich fix. 5 Deli Fresh Stars out of 5!"
"Huge enough but not as super Walmart but you get almost every thing you would like to buy. They have some good quality products unlike walmart. Although little costly. Checkout is pain sometimes due to very few self checkout kiosk."
"This grocery store is near my parents house. I would normally called it a "bodega" like we do back where I'm from back East. It's got that feel to it. I've stopped by several times over the past 8 years for a water or soda or something like that. Never for a fuller grocery list. Yesterday I needed to get a few more things, since the kids were spending the weekend with my parents and they needed junk food LoL. I found everything I needed. Poptarts. OJ. Cookies. Chips. Candy. And a few other things to balance out the junk. It worked out pretty good."
"Guilty PleasuresIf you're familiar with Whole Foods, it's your typical store. If you have never been to one, it's an organic, all natural grocery store with lots of fresh and healthy prepared foods. I know the prices at Whole Foods can seem a tad high at times, but so are the options. Honestly, I like to just wander around the store and imagine the possibilities. The prepared food is as good if not better then many restraunts, especially when it comes to the deserts. In addition to delicious deserts, there is a large fresh salad bar, healthy prepared foods, coffee, cheese counter, fresh juice bar, and wonderful fresh meats and seafood. There are so many choices and each and everyone is so good. This location has nice seating as we were there for a quick lunch (in addition to wandering the grocery store). The staff are friendly, accomdating, and the store is clean. What more could you want in a grocery store?"
"This place is confirmed halal and the owners are muslims too. We had two whole chicken and beef kabobs. I guess this is one of the best chicken i have ever had. Taste perfectly, it really deserves 10 stars . I think half-chicken is enough unless if you are really hungry. I also tried the beef kabobs. I don't think it was very good, taste fine. That day they didn't cook the authentic Iraqi kabob well. I will order it next time i go there. The store is small and the prices of the restaurant is very reasonable and acceptable. I would definitely come again!"
"I love the pizza here and I can't wait to come back and try some of the other pizza options. I shared a margherita pizza and it was perfectly cooked, just crispy enough to hold its own weight. One pizza would be too much for one person unless you were really determined to house a whole pie.Stopped by the bakery on the way out to try a cookie and an oatmeal bar. They have a lot of enticing options including gelato and a cafe."
"I've been an Aldi shopper since the 90s in Chicago. They've always had great food selections for affordable prices. I'd have to say that there are some items that taste better than the big name brands. You definitely can feed a large family for a fraction of what you'd spend at other grocery stores. The staff has always been helpful and the stores are clean and well stocked. I also love their wine!! Winking owl is the best!"
"BYOB and BYOQ! That's bring your own bags and bring your own quarter for a cart. The quarter is refunded once you return the cart. It was highly recommended that I take a trip to Aldi for their deals. Ok I am game. When I walked in, the first great deal was a large carton of strawberries for $1.09! Score! If you do the grocery shopping you will know your prices. Most items are good deals but not all so watch the prices. I even checked one item on my shopping app as I was unfamiliar with the price. Indeed the Aldi price was better. It is a small store with the basics. Don't expect to find specialty items here? Just good deals. If you forget your bags you may purchase them in the store. As an option wheel your cart to the car, unload and return the cart. I didn't purchase a lot and what I did buy was a good bargain. It was a well worth trip plus there is an abundance of shopping in the many plazas out that way."
"An extra star for the prices here.We love visiting here whenever we are in that area. In fast we almost go every time we visit that side of the town. The reason being they have some really good fast and is vert reasonable too, Few seating tables and even the store but we usually get the seat to sit and eat. I would highly recommend this place for the taste. Don't expect ambiance though."
"I think I postponed stopping in here mostly because I was somewhat in disbelief about it actually existing as has been previously described. But sure enough one hectic holiday afternoon when I have a report due and all my usual go to spots are bustling I decided in a bit of desperation to be brave and bold and venture in. Omgsh there it is! They really do have a little corner market back here! From the main road it just looks like a typical apartment complex and now that I've been here it does appear to be managed by the apartments as a type of amenities piece of the renter community but it's entirely open to the public as well. Good thing! It's a cute little place and clearly marked from the outside (once you pull into the apartments) and is adjacent to the community pool which I suspect makes it nice and busy during the summer. Walking in is similar to any gas and mini grocery market with hot coffee (Starbucks even) and lots of snacks, drinks, quick hot bites, staple grocery items and also a decent selection of beer and wine. Further back is an area with tables, tv and a sofa overlooking the outdoor area. The music is mellow and at a good volume to be pleasant and in the background rather than dominating the atmosphere. It's possible to have an inside voice conversation here and quite a nice change to feeling calmer as opposed to the excitement that was happening at the nearby shopping center I was Just at when I spotted Santa Claus strolling into a hallmark store where I was dropping some packages. The tables at this little hotspot however were very very sticky and even my boots were sticking to the floor. I always dread troubling busy staff with requests like this but the mess was truly unworkable. I was relieved that the counter worker was courteous and helpful in amending the situation. It's nice that the sitting area is decorated for Christmas and plug-in spots are readily available. Today this place was a very welcome change despite some room for improvement in terms of its readiness. I'm sure I'll be back again.Update* later on I ordered chicken tacos keeping my expectations aligned with past experiences of food in mini market convenience store type places, I was pleasantly surprised! Three for $5 yummy street tacos appeared with good flavor and fresh onion, lime and cilantro garnish. Now I'm convinced that I'll simply stop in for tacos even when I'm not looking for a place to settle in and get stuff done. Good to know!"
"My usual Fry's did not have what I was looking for. I thought I would drive down the road to another larger Fry's. I saw a staff person who use to work at my typical Fry's. We waved and had some pleasantries. I found what I was looking for and they had an abundance of the item. Ok I'm happy now. The extra effort was worth it.Shared parking lot and WiFi."
"This is my new favorite place to shop and get a yummy meal. Everything you need is at this store if you like Latino food and culture. My boyfriend recently showed me this spot and it's only about a 10-14 minutes drive from both our homes. The bakery has so many fresh, colorful pastries and desserts. The deli has great options for a quick snack or walk over to the bar area where they have a small restaurant style to-go (or sit at the tables) and get a taco, burrito, or combo meal. Get ready to find all your childhood favorite snacks!Staff were super nice, although I stood at the bakery station for a solid 5-7 minutes without the gal acknowledging I was there or needed anything as she helped several others around me so I pretty abruptly had to ask, "may I please get a dessert or two?" Overall, positive experience and will be back."

Been coming here for nearly 30 years. Used to be called In and Out before the burger chain moved to the valley. The sandwiches always hit the spot. The staff is friendly and helpful!

Awesome customer service here from Adam & crew. I was at the self checkout but still the staff here is helpful & amazing. I love coming to Fry's & ringing up my entire order before entering my loyalty number for the savings - I always get a kick out of seeing the price drop. Anyhow take care Fry's Guys - Until next time.

Snobby staff! I have never been made to feel so dumb for asking a question. It was not even a dumb question, I swear. Even lots of the customers seemed to be looking down their noses at me like I was some kind of interloper. I won't go here again., it felt very uncomfortable.

Best fresh hummus in town. They seem to be renovating. I hope they haven't closed. Their hummus would hit the spot right now!

LGO or La Grande Orange is actually a group of restaurants, most of which are consistent and delicious. I love their hot pressed tuna sandwich and their stacked turkey sandwich. These are available up to 5pm. They do have deli offerings after 5pm. They also have one of the best bakeries in the metro Phoenix area. After 5pm, they switch over to their sourdough pizza, which if you like that style of pizza is fabulous! I'm partial to their mushroom pizza. The other restaurant they own is Chelsea's Kitchen which is very close to LGO. Parking can be challenging at all their locations, largely because of the robust clientele. At LGO, they have a drive up area to pick up to go orders which is very helpful. The staff is also excellent!Simply stated, it's tough to go wrong there, or any of their restaurants!

The prices are great. The employees are friendly, there's quite a vast selection. However, I would not go out of my way to shop here. It just looks like a warehouse inside. I don't find the store to be particularly inviting or welcoming.

ALDI - Here. I remember being excited that this chain was coming to AZ a few years ago, as it was one of our go-to spots back in Michigan. Can't forget their innovative quarter-cart system! We visited this location on a Saturday and it's a bit tucked away in the shopping center next to Home Goods. We decided not to get a cart because we weren't planning on buying anything, but of course we ending up picking a few things due to the fair prices. I'm always carrying reusable bags so I was ready at the register. Be sure to bring your own or buy some there (I think?) another location had boxes but I didn't notice that here. They have quite a few self-checkout machines which I personally prefer.Overall, large store, wide aisles, good selection and competitive prices on some but not all items. Would return! And possibly test out their cart system for old times' sake.
Visit Restaurant Page"This place is awesome! Got some really good bargains. I think for every $6 you spend you get a free loaf of bread. Found all kinds of good snacks such as Boston cream honey buns, Moon Pies, cream horns, powdered donuts, fruit pies, and snack cakes. They have really good rolls, buns, and a variety of breads such as potato bread, brioche bread, and butter bread to name a few. The employee working here was very friendly too. I intend to come back soon!"
"So glad we stopped here today. Parking lot was pretty full when we arrived and the amazing smell of chicken on the outside grills drew me even more in. Once inside it was even better! The location is large with so many great selections I didn't know where to look first. However that quickly changes when my eyes met the huge salsa bar that includes fresh guacamole, ceviche and so much more. There are two different sized containers that you can fill to take home. They also offer multiple different meal deals you can order and tables outside to enjoy. We filled two with, habanero salsa, and pico de Gallo . Then made my way over to the baked goods while my husband picked up a few pounds of meat to grill tonight for dinner. Before we walked out of the door we also picked ip a few of their drink options. It was so hard not to pick up anything else, but I know we'll be back to try so many more things. The store was clean, outside well kept as well. Service was friendly and great music playing while we shopped. Great pricing and let me tell you the second I got home and broke out the guacamole it was freaking delicious! The salsa was way too hot for me, but my husbands and boys loved it. Time for carne Asada and some chicken. Tacos for day! Yum!"
"I was first introduced to AJ's on the eve of my mother's birthday. I was chatting with a friend about my need to find a birthday cake for my dear mother. Particularly, a German chocolate cake. She quickly recommended AJ's bakery, and added on some tidbits that they have great pizza and iced tea. Lacking logic, I decided to pop by AJ's that very day during what I presume is their busiest time--noon. The bakery doubles as a coffee and tea shop, so it was a bit hectic for a first timer. However, the clerk that assisted me was very friendly and made sure to package up my mother's birthday cake (yes, a German chocolate cake!) with great care. The cake was exceptional. My mother is a bit of a German chocolate cake snob, and she agreed that it was one of the best (if not the best) that she has had. AJ's bakery also had a variety of fun candles, so I bought some of those as well to top off her cake. Overall, this was a pretty great experience and I will definitely be back to AJ's soon!"
"We have been shopping at this AJ's, both when we lived here and whenever we in town for a visit. The prices are typical AJ's, which are somewhat full. But, it's still the only place in the Valley where I can pickup some specialty items. They stock Peter Lugar's steak sauce (yep), Gold's Horseradish, Desert Gardens mixes and dips, aged balsamic vinegars, along with several Münchner bräuhaus Weißbiers. Today AJ's is still owned by Basha's, so several of these items can be purchased there. But it's limited and some items are not always in stock. NorCal based Raley's Supermarkets purchased Bashas' a few years ago and promising to keep the formats and store names the same, they even kept Edward Basha III as president. Nice. Btw, the employees are all very nice and will go of their way to help find what you are looking for."
"Beautiful amazing steaks. I love shopping their floral department as well as produce. First visit to this location. Fast friendly check out. They have some unique food items, gifts, and decore I love coming here. They have a nice alcoholic beverage area as well. The desserts are a big hit and I always pick up a macadamia nut white chocolate cookie or two from the bin for my hubby. Delicious sushi and hot food always on display ready for you to pick your faves and take it to go. They have a nice patio area if you would like to sit and relax."
"My gf stopped in Masale Walla looking for Paneer, we used to go to another Indian grocer but they closed recently, so we decided to try a new spot! When she arrived she was greeted immediately and offered assistance. We both love Indian food but aren't thoroughly educated on all the options! The employee there was super helpful! She made great suggestions and helped my gf find everything she was looking for. We got some standard items and even some new ones to try! Her overall experience was great and the items we purchased were delicious! We will definitely be back!"
"The best local kosher deli in Phoenix. Love the fresh foods. Also the hotdogs: Sabretts,Nathan's,Hebrew National,,Vienna Neef,NY knishes, fresh foods. Zack the son is great, dad & mom."
"This place has good pizzas and subway sandwiches. Last time we were here, we stopped and grabbed some sandwiches and deli food which was good. Food is pretty cheap here for big sandwiches. I got some chips with them, and we sat inside on a nice warm day to chill off. Pretty nice size place with lots of meats and cheeses and bread to take home and make your own sandwiches too. Nice people and great place. We will be back again."
"Just picked up our 1st CURBSIDE PICKUP,..It was very quick, and no overdoing our shopping as we tend to do!Thanks so much, to our Curbside Delivery guy -- **TONY** -who had made it so easy, and was just so nice and helpful,..SO MUCH QUICKER & EASIER than doing it ourselves!!!!Definitely a great first experience, and we will be shopping this way - again and again!A few other employees that we would also like to make sure to get shoutouts to:- Shelby in the deli, - Princely at checkout,- Rene at checkout,And so many others at this location, whom are always so friendly and doing an awesome job,- and kudos also, to the very nice manager Rick!Management is what makes happy employees,..and all of them make happy customers here!!"
"I've been coming to this Safeway for 9 years now! Wow! It's not far from where I live and the employees are always friendly and helpful. They have some brands I don't see elsewhere so that's helpful. The fruit is always fresh My dealings today took me over to the bakery section as they have slices wrapped to go and various goodies I love to ogle. I was greeted by Danielle with a smile and ordered a cake today for pickup later this week. The store is always well organized and well stocked and I highly recommend shopping there. Easy in and out most days!"
"Stopped by on Sunday to pick up dinner. Have to say that Ben at the meat counter went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed. Great service. Highly recommend."
"I shop every Asian market in the valley often and by far this place has the best prices by far.Its not as big as Mekong or Lee Lees but it makes up in the amount of money you save here plus they has the 10% off on top of it Lots of selections in Indonesian food nice vegetables fresh food they are getting fryers and other amenities so make sure if you want to save money its worth the trip no matter where you live in the valley Myself I come all the way from South Mountain"
"I needed a little chilled item to drink after shopping. Their floral area always brightens up my day. Gorgeous florals here. I stopped to look at their summer display. Not as impressive as past events yet still nice. I found some cold green tea beverage to enjoy. No sweets today. Shared parking lot and WiFi here."
"This morning I met one of my most favoritefriend and brother Monty. I am a Baby Christian and I am being Discipled by Monty. He asks me Questions about my past , he calls me his Jewish Brother. He Had a huge breakfast spread of two large pancakes. 4 pieces of bacon, 2 Sunny Side Up Eggs and Hash Browns . I was offered A PancakeAnd two pieces of bacon. This is good to die for!I had an order of Steel Case Oat Meal in a Large Bowl with pieces of Banana, a box of raisins and a bowl of brown sugar . I also ordered coffeeWhich came with it's own carafe . Our congenial waitress gleefully came back with 2% Milk.Oh, did I mention that throughout the store are well preserved antiques . Gasoline Pumps From the 20's and 30's when Gasoline sold for .20c or .30c a Gallon. Both Monty and I are Members of Highlands Church which is just across the road a ways. For a Unique Approach to pray and hear the Word of Jesus ; stop by on Sunday either at 9:00 am , I am a greeter then or 10:30our Second Service. My life has changed in so many positive waysSince I joined Highlands Church..."
"Go here for their samosas and kachori. It is just $1 each and tastes so good. It is an Indian store with a restaurant at the back as well. We usually go here for snack items including sweets. Never tried food in their restaurant but prices are so damn reasonably here for everything. I would highly recommend this place. Don't expect a very welcoming greeting from the uncle at the counter but they are nice people. The store is small and very congested, however, they have so many things to be considered."
"Transplanted NY'er here. I've complained for 20 years about not having a good deli in AZ. That changed today! This place took me back to Long Island. The sandwich was perfect. Fresh and they didn't skimp on the meat. Bread was on point. Great selection and you can custom order whatever you want. Staff is extremely Friendly and gracious. We tried to tip them by asking where the tip jar was and they said " you coming in was our tip"! A+++... must try. I'll be a regular!"
"This is no H-Mart but has tested time and other Asian markets. They make their own kimchi and tons of Korean appetizers. They have all your Korean basics and have a catering menu for big parties. They also have a lot of other home made items for sale."
"Salsa at a place called a milk depot? Sure why not?! Add to that the convenience of drive thru ordering and I was sold on trying this place out. They have all your basic convenience store items in addition to the freshly made salsa and also have slush puppies which sounds intriguing if you want something cool on a hot day. The salsa comes in a 16 oz or 32 oz size, in your choice of mild, hot, or ghost pepper. Varieties are original red, green, and a chunky pico de gallo. I opted for a red and green in mild. I also got a container of sour cream. The total for the three items was a little over $10 which was perfect since there is no surcharge for using credit card if your total is $10 or more. Out of the two salsas I greatly preferred the red more. The green had a very strong acidic, almost bitter quality to it that was too much for me. My husband said about the red "I want to eat this salsa every week until I die." If that isn't a testament to tastiness I don't know what is!The sour cream brand was Shamrock and it was a little under $3.50.Service was very friendly. The mild salsas were good heat-wise. There was just enough heat to keep it interesting flavor wise. As for freshness, based on the expiration date I think the red salsa I got was made that same day, and the green the day before."
"This is huge grocery shop for Indian condominium and groceries. You get everything here. One stop shop for Indian folks in valley. Only problem is the location at-least for us. Far from home and not worth visiting. Other options like Asiana and Lotus market are near and serves the purpose for us."
"Safeway in shopping center at corner of N. 7th st. and Thunderbird. There's ample parking with a large lot. The staff is friendly and professional. A bonus is a nice Starbucks counter inside with its own lounge chair seating and open until 8pm.Recommended."
"I LOVE SPROUTS! Been shopping at the Bell location in Surpeise since ope ing day. This will be our new home location. I am so excited as this location is huge and sexy! Right in a shopping center with many of my favorite stores yet to come. Opening day they are busy. Install the app if you haven't already, create a count and sign in to get your 20% off today! Organized clean, fresh and awesome customer service from the time we walked in all the way through checkout! We found purple sweet potatoes, our girl's favorite yogurt, Brussel speouts for dinner tonight and organic carrots. I will be back later! Welcome Sprouts we are so glad to have to closer!"
"Check in. Great value here.Great Service Came in Early and food is well stocked and Fresh.Awesome choices Organic or Regular Produce"
"Who knew that there was a middle eastern mecca right down the street. I now know where to get my goat, bulgur, egyptian yogurt and oh so much more. Owned by a cute little lady who dreams of expanding and growing her own arabian kingdom , she was fun to talk to and find about her plans for her "corner". I loved checking out the grains and beans, I bet I could make an awesome bean soup with some of these treasures. I am sure I will be back for red lentils. I also was jazzed to find a 4lb bag of split peas for only 2.00 ...screaming deal. Anybody know what to do with pressed apricot ? It was inexpensive and seemed "cool" but not sure how to use it. They also had interesting spices , grains and ,taa daa ,various filo doughs and puffed pastry ...something I have had to go out of my way to buy before. I wished they had fresh produce but oh well. I am very curious about the new restaurant next door to be called Ali Baba's . I am sure it will be an adventure too."
