Dominic's Bistro Italiano

So my friend and I drove from downtown phoenix to try this restaurant on the 10th of May. It was very busy however there was no one manning the host station and we stood there a while. Several waiters and waitresses walked by, there were employees at the bar who saw us. No one came over. I finally flagged down a waiter who eventually got a hostess however the hostess immediately greeted an older couple who had just walked in. It was just so rude and disappointing. My friend and I left and got Thai. It was such a horrible customer service experience. Please have your host and hostess man their station. It is literally the first impression a customer has of your restaurant.

I lived in this area for years and never heard of this place ??? It's a little small but very nice. Has a small bar area as well. We were very lucky to get a table as most people waited about an hour to be seated. The bread was really good and I ordered oil for the bread. That was so yummy. I guess the owner doesn't just make good food but he gets out and sings as well. Lol. I definitely. Like this place. Food is pretty good and prices are affordable. Just get her early or be ready to wait.

Friends invited us to join them for dinner on a Tuesday for dinner. Lots of Sun City folks filled the room. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. One of the owners came by to welcome us as first timers to this establishment. The menu was extensive and prices were moderate. I was able to order the lunch sized lasagna, which was good. My spouse had the antipasto salad. It was a generous portion and was very good- plenty for two people. Karaoke starts at 5:30 pm on Tuesdays. We had a fun time listening to the regulars. The crowd lessened at around 7 pm, which enabled us to stick around a try out a couple of songs. Nice, family owned place where the staff knows the patrons by name, as well as their favorite drinks and dishes.

Step back in time to a 50s Italian restaurant with checkered tablecloths and photographs of movie stars and relax. It's a welcome switch from all the fast paced and almost clinical decor found in so many eateries. The lunch specials are reasonably priced since they start out with some warm bread made on site, followed with a little salad or cup of soup. One friend had the personal pizza and ordered mushroom and peppers for an upcharge, but they were very skimpy with them. The other friend's lasagna was so small a piece it did not come close to filling the little dish. My calzone was very disappointing which was surprising since it was so lovely to look it, but the dough was so tough I could not pick it up to bite into it nor could I get the knife to saw through it. I lifted the top to find a wet interior with lumps of hard ricotta not spread evenly throughout and hardly any mozzarella. My upcharge for mushrooms netted me 5 1/2 pieces. We all agreed they make a good sauce and a unique Italian dressing that seemed a bit like a happy marriage between Catalina and Italian. The server was harried and wound up spilling a glass of water which may have been prevented had she slowed down and not kept reaching across us to serve and pour. Why would you reach across my right to pour and serve the person to my left? Like I said, she was obviously stressed having to take care of the lunch crowd and the kitchen was very slow. I think the oven was taking its time to heat up to proper temp since we arrived shortly after 11 a.m. which might have explained both the tough calzone and the close to 40 min wait time which seemed longer since it took a while to get our bread. This seems to be a popular place with faithful regulars, so maybe it was just an off day since I can't imagine they could keep regulars based on my experience.

We had one of the absolute best nights with my family here. The atmosphere, food, and energy in this restaurant is unbeatable! The lasagna and homemade Italian dressing is a show stopper. The live music and dancing was the cherry on top. Awesome place and owners!!!

Tracy is the best, ambiance and food were great.Music at 7Love this place!Get here early on Friday nights.If you use a credit card they tack on an additional 3.5% for Surcharge (credit card fee). I thought that was pretty cheesy but they will take cash or debit card with no fee tacked on!

Hidden little gem! Super cute restaurant with live entertainment (at least the night we were there). Food was great, tried the fettuccini along with the meatballs and lasagna (we opted for family style so we could try more than one item) all were tasty! It's a little older crowd but a fun crowd who enjoyed dancing while one of the owners sang. Definitely worth trying!!

We had a great time at Dominic's. The live music and dancing, fabulous food and service, you are treated like family here. A no rush kind of place.

Love it!!I was greatest by a very nice lady who sat us at a 4top table.We were treated by Vicki who was so sweet and goodStarted with fried green beans. Excellent, nice and crispy..My friend had the meatball sandwich. she said it was excellent. The sandwich comes with Fries. I had the manacotti was so good . I had the lunch portion and it was the right amount.. Vicki brought us some bread and it was very good.The restaurant had a good crowd ,The ladies room is so cute and very clean.
