Diane and I stopped here for lunch on the way from Laughlin to Tucson. Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Potato Skins were good choices for apps. Then I had a very good and big medium rare as ordered Cheeseburger with French Fries. This place just exudes flavors of the Wild West. Portraits of Wild Bill Hickock and sureshot gunslingers like Billy the Kid and Annie Oakley adorn the walls; a lifesize sculpture of a horse is situated just outside the front of the restaurant; and black and white Westerns play continuously on TV screens mounted overhead. Music heard while we ate included a sung rendition of "Home on the Range" and Willie Nelson's version of "You Were Always on My Mind." We received fine and friendly service by Rosa.

Iconic restaurant with great western decorations. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good solid food. I had a steak salad. Steak cooked exactly as I asked. Yummy mix of veggies, steak and blue cheese crumbles.Husband had a burger. He said it was average, bun a little dry, great local beer selection,

From the highway, this place looks pretty touristy and even a bit cheesy. We stopped in and had lunch on a Sunday. My impression could not have been more wrong. This restaurant has real friendly people and real good food. I saw what looked like a lot of locals enjoying a meal. The bar is good size and appears fully stocked with modest hooch. Our bartender, Sally, was friendly and gave us ample attention. I had a Steak Salad. It came with 6oz of sirloin( a little under seasoned) and lots of blue cheese crumbles. The dressing was unremarkable. I am betting it is not house made. The greens were fresh and crispy. Black olives are a nice extra touch. My wife enjoyed her salad with chicken, too. I thought the pricing, service, and food were darn good. Give it a try when you get a chance.

The empty parking lot should have been my first clue but we ventured in anyway. The waitress who was very pleasant and nice bright out the dinner rolls they were literally rock hard. I thought we were being punked or something. I mean they literally made noise when you hit them on the table. That was all I needed to see we ended up going for somewhere else. Sorry guys. First impressions matter.

Very nice big place with very cool decor! The western vibe is on point and had some pretty unique pictures and chandeliers. The food was good and the service was friendly and very attentive. We had the prime rib which they seem to serve every night and was just okay.. We also got a shrimp cocktail appetizer and the shrimp were very large and fresh! Would visit again when back in the area but next time maybe try one of their burgers.

Great local spot for solid grub.I had the patty melt, which was outstanding. The lactose intolerant human with me, however, had the tortilla soup which was cream based. Normally tortilla soup is broth based if they're going to have a cream based version that's fine just give people a heads up. Also note to reviewer "Jerry L" they don't put honey cinnamon butter on their bread because that's absolutely disgusting. They're not catering to 10 year olds. Grow up weirdo.

I originally tried Cowboy Cookin' about 15 years ago or so when I was a volunteer at the nearby Desert Caballeros Western Museum. It was ok then, nothing to write home about. Since that time the restaurant has gone through about two ownerships - the last one coming on board about 2 years ago or so.So there was a bit of wondering and trepidation when we decided to stop there for dinner this evening. Boy, were we surprised - and pleasantly so.First off, the Old West motif won me over even before our food arrived. The usual images of Western heroes, Wyatt, Buffalo Bill, Billy the Kid - and a pretty neat endorsement of the restaurant by Jeff Bridges too! Cowboy gear and the Western movies shown caught our attention as well.Well, that's all well and good, but I'm sure you're going to ask about the food, right?Simply put, Cowboy Cookin' is a WINNER.Me and Mom ordered the Chili. I have been looking for great Chili in Arizona - (Wickenburg used to have a "mom and pop" little place ironically almost across the street from Cowboy Cookin' that had great Chili but sadly they closed down even before the first Cowboy Cookin' arrived on the scene). Cowboy Cookin' s Chili is chock full of tasty Beef and Beans in a Chili sauce that was JUST RIGHT - thankfully mild but with a slight kick at the end of every bite. My mother, who cannot take things too spicy, ate every bit of her's and enjoyed it immensely.(I would go back there for the Chili alone) But wait, there's more.I also had the Prime Rib French dip - ample shaved prime rib beef smothered with mild horseradish and served with a tasty Au Jus. Also a winner. Couldn't eat it all, so it will be my lunch tomorrow. And topped everything off with a humongous slice of carrot cake. Portions are big at Cowboy Cookin' but very good and quite reasonable, especially if you are paying cash.|Throughout it all, our Waitress - wish I had got her name - was very attentive, very friendly and quite professional.Ambience (Old Western), Service, Food . . .all great at Cowboy Cookin'.There are plenty of great eateries in Wickenburg, the Onery Hog, Hassayampa Smokehouse Bar-B-Q, and Rancho Bar 7 come to mind. You can certainly add Cowboy Cookin' to the list of great Wickenburg MUST DINE EATS. ( Thinking Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Prime Rib next time - but will always go with the Chili!)

Food was boring and tasteless but ample. Service was ok. Ambiance...if you like really old, really sad country music, this place is for you. Probably not a good time to be there-2:30. The one waitress came across as condescending and bothered. Just a depressing atmosphere. They charge 4% extra if you don't pay in cash. Maybe it's better at night.
