Carniceria Sonora

It's good. It's not finger licking good but it's close to my house and I needed to throw a barbecue fast. The chorizo was just okay but the marinated chicken was pretty tasty. I spent $200 on 10lbs of ranchera, 5lbs of chicken, 2lbs of chorizo. We also got already made rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa and some chicharrón lonja. Three sodas, some limes, tortillas and avocado. They don't carry ice either so keep that in mind. Overall, the meat was okay. Will I go back? Yeah. Will I recommend? Probably not. I've found places that has their meat much fresher.

First time today to make carne asada. I wish I came a day sooner so I could have let it sit and marinate, but still delicious. The carne asada was totally worth it. The marinade with onion and oranges gave it a great flavor. Also bought tortillas Sonora- very tasty. I also want to try other items- the bistec pollo looked so good. I will keep coming back.

It was a nice little place that had everything I needed. I was assisted by their friendly staff and their salsas were delicious!

Horrible horrible, siendo de Sonora esta ha sido la peor carne que he comido. La carne estaba vieja, compramos (ranchera) o sea arrachera y estaba asquerosa y olía a viejo. Que lástima porque era la primera vez que íbamos y definitivamente será la última. Las tortillas estaban asquerosas y viejas. Aparte de malo, caro y sucio. Horrible! Being from Sonora this has been the worse meat I've eaten. It was old and it smelled like it was old and bad. What a shame first and last time shopping there. Tortillas were old too and didn't taste fresh. Horrible experience and will never go back there again. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pésima calidad, la carne arrachera estaba cara y vieja. Se nota que no tienen producto nuevo y no están al tanto de la caducidad de las cosas. Primera y última vez. Bad quality, the meat was old and we had toThrow it away. The product they sell there is not new and they're not paying attention to their product. Bad and expensive. First time and last time being there.

Very good quality meats, deli, salsa bar, and choice of cuts. There's also a ready to go bar if you want the food prepared and ready to eat-highly satisfying! I've been coming here over a decade now & I won't go anywhere else. Service is ok, not the best but I'm not there to have conversations with ppl. I'm just in and out, since it can be pretty busy. If you are looking for carneceria, I recommend this spot!

Carne Asada does not disappoint. We decided to let the steak marinade overnight. Hubby grilled it medium rare. It was tender and flavorful. It was tangy, we grilled the onions separately. It had the perfect amount of spice and salt.Because of the Yelp reviews, I went back this afternoon. Sadly, they sold out of guacamole. I did pick up salsa verde and pick de gallo. Both were good with our carne asada nachos. We will be back. Next time on Saturday morning so we won't miss the guacamole.Tip: The price of the carne asada is now $7.99/lb. The butcher went into the locker, cut the flank steak fresh, poured the marinade in a bag, added the meat, and everything is super fresh!

Meat is always fresh and everything they sell tastes good! They sell Birrea and it's my new fav. Thing to buy every week. All their salsas are always fresh. And they also have other things you need to make dinner any day of the week. This is one of the only good things Peoria has to offer because everything else is lacking. The employees are always nice and helpful. Nothing bad about this Carniceria.

I just left this place this morning. Wanted to purchase tortillas and the first two packages I picked up had mold. The other packs expired today, so I passed. Wanted to make chicken carnitas and Carne Asada. Requested 2 lbs of chicken and 2 lbs of Carne Asada. No Carne Asada out front, so he had to go in back to retrieve. No price posted for the Cane Asada. He put in 2.8 lbs instead of 2 lbs requested. Come on, you couldn't get closer to 2 lbs? No excuse to upsell that much. I'll never come to the Carniceria again.

Had some good candy, no meat selection, chicharron was bad flavored and old. Close early when convenient.
