"** November 2021 Visit **After a severely disappointing breakfast burrito I decided to give this meat shop/convenience store a shot since it was close by. It's a very humble store, but the butcher had a good selection of meats to choose from. It seemed that Spanish was the primary language and the butcher spoke very limited English, so we asked the cashier if she could help us with our order. My friend and I decided on a carne asada burrito with rice, onions, cilantro, and salsa. It was fresh, the tortilla had a nice char and was very filling. If you want authentic Mexican food this is a good spot!"
"Was recommend Block & Apron by a friend and we finally made it a priority to check out. We are bummed we didn't visit sooner! My wife and I stopped in to pick up some meat for the week and spoke with the general manager, Paul. Paul gave us an overview of all their products and even some other local products they carry (honey, sauces, dips, salsa, chips, etc.). They have quite the selection of meats and what we loved is the grass fed and finished selection. Fun fact: They just started carrying beef that is grass fed and carrot finished (meat is supposed to be a little sweeter). Looking forward to making this a regular spot for our family's proteins!"
"Great service, family owned, always fresh and consistent quality. We love the Chicken but also grab the carne and other items while there. We drive from Maricopa!! Can't wait until the location 1.5 miles from my house opens soon!! Remember Alli G because I'll be there weekly!!"
"Good carneceria little pricey but good. I wish the chicharones didn't have nipples though."
"This is a great family owned butcher shop. The owner Jason is a great guy and the rest of the employees are very help full. So far I bought a Peking Duck, Picanha, Korean style ribs that he threw in some marinade, and some Rib Eyes. All the prices are very fair. I love their Garlic Jalapeño Meat Duster and have used it on poultry, pork, and beef. Everything has been great."
"Friendly Staff, Delicious Carne Asada and so much moreHappy to say I have a new go to spot for those times I don't want to cook. All I have to do is head over to Hacienda Navarro an order some Asada for taco nightThere is nothing better then a good carnicería, and Hacienda Navarro is just that place. The quality and prices can't be beat and the grocery section has exactly what you will need to prepare that perfect mealGreat customer service, affordable prices, and high quality products. We'll definitely be repeat coustomers"
"This is my spot for carne asada when I want to make my boyfriends week and prepare taco stand on the bbq. I called up a friend one Saturday when the craving hit, and asked him where the best spot to buy carne asada in Arcadia was. The entire kitchen staff at the Vig told him Los Pinos, so I thought it must be so. Then I went, and I knew it was so. I haven't shopped anywhere else, but I have tried other friends and by comparison I don't think the meat is as good quality. I buy my whole fiesta here, from the cheese (for taco stand Rocky Point style it's all about the Queso Chihuahua), guac when I'm lazy, hot sauce and salsa from the refrigerated case, and they also have a warm trunk of freshly made tortillas, and limes and cilantro in the small produce section. They are so nice here, even though I took French in college and high school when I should have taken Spanish. I have become such a regular here that they recognize me, and last time asked me why I never bring my kids with me. Lol. Do you allow dogs on a leash?"
"This place is awesome. Anything you could want, they have. It's perfect for every meal. Breakfast lunch or dinner. We love this place!! It's got amazing food amazing service and amazing atmosphere. Try everything because you will not be disappointed by anything. I love the attention you get from everyone plus the perfect flavors in every bite. You have to try it I highly recommend it!!!!"
"Carne Asada does not disappoint. We decided to let the steak marinade overnight. Hubby grilled it medium rare. It was tender and flavorful. It was tangy, we grilled the onions separately. It had the perfect amount of spice and salt.Because of the Yelp reviews, I went back this afternoon. Sadly, they sold out of guacamole. I did pick up salsa verde and pick de gallo. Both were good with our carne asada nachos. We will be back. Next time on Saturday morning so we won't miss the guacamole.Tip: The price of the carne asada is now $7.99/lb. The butcher went into the locker, cut the flank steak fresh, poured the marinade in a bag, added the meat, and everything is super fresh!"
"my favorite carniceria for Mexican chips & candy from Mexico! they are pricey but worth it especially if you have a craving. clean store & friendly staff. have yet to try their chicharrones, plan to next time."
"If you're looking for all things Mexican, they got it. Tacos burritos marinated meats bread candies etc"

I stopped into this carniceria on a daily basis when I stayed nearby. At first I came in to stock up on some iced tea but then had to have some calabaza empanadas. I'm giving this place 5 stars because of the meat. I buy a large quantity of meat to make tamales and this carniceria had quality at a good price. They also have a good selection of cheese. The ready made food looked delicious but the only thing I had were the beans and they had excellent flavor.

I randomly saw the sign and decided to look Block & Apron up and glad I did. They have some pretty awesome deals. I went for the 20 filets for $99 to give the place a go. I had a couple and they were the best steaks I've had in a bit. So tender and tasty! I went in to get the deal and it was such a cool little shop. It was a quick experience. The person working there was quick and friendly. I will definitely go back! Since I got a bulk deal they were frozen, which is good, but I'll be back to try some of the fresh stuff!! So glad I found this spot! They even have free delivery in town if you spend $99+. Can't beat that!

Been coming here for years to get carne Asada. This place is in ghetto parking sucks but worth finding a spot. If you come here get it ranchera make sure you get the big fat green onions to marinate with steak. Price went up over the years but dang it's perfect. Sometimes you will get some free salsa or tortillas if you buy meat. I usually pick mine up at food city and make my own salsa. Any way it smells so good when you grill it your neighbors will be jealous and hungry lol.

This place is great! Has it all. Fresh meats, lots of homemade salsas and a small produce section. Also has a wide variety of sodas and other shelf grocery items. Very friendly and helpful staff. Glad I found this place. I'll be back.

Really great Ranchera and marinade to make some authentic carne asada tacos at home. Get a few pounds on Friday on my way home from work...let it marinade over night until we bbq on Saturday evening and it's soooooo good. I think 5 of us once demolished 4 pounds of carne and wished we had some leftover. The flour tortillas are also amazing toasted up on the grill...they have numerous brands but they're all good. I don't speak Spanish at all but I did go in prepared with what to say in Spanish for my order. I don't think that's necessary but it's kinda fun to get to speak Spanish and successfully order some meat and marinade to grill up with friends and family.

Wow. We came here today and picked up two ribeyes and some asparagus. Now, it wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. Those ribeyes had intramuscluar marbling that you won't even see on the USDA Primes at AJ's, and the asparagus has tight purple-blue tips that looked like they were ready for a night on the town. And the selection... wow. They have stuff here that you absolutey cannot get anywhere else. And I'm not going to tell you what they have that you can't get anywhere else, because then y'all will start buying it and I won't be able to get any. So you'll just have to do some homework. But seriously- come here and buy a ton of stuff. And help me to convince them to open a sister store south of the 10.

"No better beef in the valley than Rovey Farms. They have numerous fresh cuts shrink wrapped frozen at reasonable prices. They are primarily a supplier to local restaurants but they are open to the public with limited hours. They also have sheeps milk cheese. That also is wonderful and is velvety smooth. This is a local treasure."
"I was in the area and stopped in today. I'm always in the look out for Braunschweiger for my husband. I didn't have any luck on that front today. But left with a huge piece of garlic jerky, two different types of brats, a summer sausage and a jalapeño breakfast sausage. My hubby is going to be so happy! I was impressed by their huge selection. The steaks looked amazing, and I'll be back for those! What a fun find. I'm excited to try the brats and sausages."
"Was in town for the Phoenix Open and cooking for a large group. Butcher was very helpful with selecting the perfect carne asada and pollo asada. I got about 1/2lb per person. The marinade was amazing even though I could only marinate it for a few hours! Highly recommend. Also picked up some fresh salsa, guacamole, avocados, cotija cheese and tortillas. Hit up the ice chest for the warm tortillas! Best carne asada I've ever had and the group thought so too!"
"I can't believe I've not previously written a review for German Sausage Company! I have been coming here for many years and oh so love it! The shop is small but packed full of goodness! The people working here have always been friendly and helpful. They are patient and full of answers. The parking can be a challenge but its well worth it once you've gotten inside."
"Found a meat shop! They had a variety of things to choose from. Priced decently. One side is a meat shop other side is a deli.SteakChickenPorkSausageBeef JerkyPlus moreI would return. Nice staff and clean inside. I do wish there was a bit more to choose from,"
"Carniceria came highly recommended by multiple friends, so we had to check this place out. It did not disappoint. They sell meats by the pound or made into favorite entrees. We chose few tacos and a chicken burrito. All were delicious and loaded with toppings. The salsa was little spicy for me. The meats were moist and flavorful but there were some ends that were little dry. They also had menudo we wanted to try but they were sold out. Will be back. Highly recommend."
"Small business ownership at its best. I decided to treat myself to a filet mignon and Al's immediately came to mind.I know several people who highly recommend Al's so I stopped in a couple weeks ago to peruse their meat options and prices. They have nearly everything you would want from homemade sausages, fillets, rib roast, rib racks, chicken, pork, chops, anything you could want or need. Even more than most supermarkets.Today I purchased a fillet mignon and asked for it to be butterflied. It was done perfectly. I took it home, brought it to room temperature and put it on the grill. Oh my gosh. it was so tender I could cut it with a butter knife. The prices were on the pricey side but totally worth it. Considering that this is a small private owned business I am more than happy to patronize a business where fresh meats are fresh with NO added anything."
"This place is confirmed halal and the owners are muslims too. We had two whole chicken and beef kabobs. I guess this is one of the best chicken i have ever had. Taste perfectly, it really deserves 10 stars . I think half-chicken is enough unless if you are really hungry. I also tried the beef kabobs. I don't think it was very good, taste fine. That day they didn't cook the authentic Iraqi kabob well. I will order it next time i go there. The store is small and the prices of the restaurant is very reasonable and acceptable. I would definitely come again!"
"Visited Rusty Nail Meats for the first time today as we were visiting friends in the Scottsdale area. Our friends just moved into a home near RNM and it was time to break in their new kitchen! We rolled into RNM and picked up two large boneless ribeyes, filet mignon, salmon filet, and four different sausages. My buddy smoked all the items on his smoker. Rusty Nail Meats has an arsenal of juicy cuts and even a large meat ager behind the counter with some holy grail aged cuts on display for you heavy hitters who make it rain!!!If you looking for choice cuts and are around N Scottsdale Rd and E Shea Blvd get into Rusty Nail Meats and finish the summer strong!!!"
"The deli we had been using recently closed, with Stanley's being close to the quality we had been getting. It can be busy, so expect a 15 minute wait at those times."
"If you are looking for affordable great quality wagyu look no further. They have a variety of choice and prime meats available the wagyu starts at $80 lb for A5 meat. The service is good super clean bright and welcoming."
"I get an old-world vibe from this place. Super small storefront with an old-school butcher style feeling where you can see artisans engaging in their craft. From what I remember all the animals they butcher are local. I also believe they do most everything in-house: seasoning, curing, cutting, drying, etc. Staff is friendly and its in a great location."
"The absolute best carniceria! The meats are seasoned so well you don't even need salsa. Whether you get pre seasoned and take it home to grill or you get the cooked meat they grill on the charcoal outdoor grills. It's the best."
"This is a teeny tiny shop. A couple of grocery aisles, a selection of baked items (we were there for bolillo), and a meat counter. Our first visit the hot food counter was not yet open. The bollilo was very good. Basic, but good. Fresh. We returned sometime later (several weeks) for lunch. I deliberately held off reviewing this until we did lunch since I figured commenting on a bollilo by itself wasn't very useful. The lunch selection is somewhat limited. But more choices are shown on their price list than are displayed in their steamer trays. If you read their small list you'll notice "burro", which is not displayed. We ordered carnitas burritos with rice. I think they misunderstood and gave us carne asada, but that's fine. I didn't see that on their list, but that appears to be exactly what I got. They prepared them fresh. It was probably ten minutes before they were ready. Very traditional, no "enchilada style" or anything. Beef and rice wrapped in a tortilla with a half a lime on the side. The flavor was traditional also. Simple but good. Squeezing the lime added a really nice citrus flavor that blended really well. There are three tables, so it is possible you could arrive and have no place to sit. But it wasn't too busy when we visited. One group of four on one table, and a single on another. We had the last table. If you want a drink you walk over to the refrigerator case and grab one. When you're done you go to the register with your styro boxes (they write the price on the lid) and your bottles/cans from the fridge, and you pay the man. Prices were quite reasonable. Comparable to other small burro shops you find in Phoenix. Cheaper than Cafe Rio or Chipotle, and much more authentic.I think we'll be back."
"Beyond words! This small hole on the wall has some good prices on meats but travel into the next room and your ordering FRESH cooked to order Mexican food. The prices are worth the amount of food you get and will be back!"
"So I finally cooked up the bacon we had bought and it has great flavor! I would definitely come back. I'll have to try other stuff next time."
"And you'll never find another cut of steak like Bob's bee-eee-eef! -BrerrieI've been grilling/cooking the flavor out of meat for nearly thirty year now. It doesn't matter where I bought it: Costco, any grocery store, circle k... the one thing for sure was that it was going to end up dry and flavorless. So when my wife mentioned the Meater probe, I knew it would pay for itself within two meals. Our maiden voyage included two boneless rib eyes from Sprouts, and it was a rousing success!Round two, enter Butcher Bob's...Me, from a year ago, would laugh at the thought of spending $35 a pound just to turn beautiful fillets into worn shoe leather... but it's a new day my friend, and thanks to the Meater, my wife and I are now producing steakhouse quality meals at a fraction of the price!Bob's quality is a cut above, eliciting childhood memories of when my dad was rocking the grill. Even the fat packs a tasty punch. Hey Guy, we finally found Flavor Town!"
"I wish I had more money so I could get all my meat and fish from Nelson's lol. I've been venturing to the Phoenix location monthly for the past year and it's something I really look forward to. The fish is flown in twice a week so everything is super fresh. They even have an email list so you can keep current with what they have an oh my, the options are as endless as they are diverse. I usually have no idea what I'm doing most of the time when I walk into the store but the employees are SO helpful with cooking instructions and recommendations which is so great for a fish novice like me. There are a ton of fresh provisions so if you want to get a quick to go dip, marinade, or spread, they have those too. I think one of my favorite parts of the store is the meat section. The other month I got lucky and picked up Australian Wagyu picanha and I've been dreaming about it ever since. So many choices!!! Nelson's, please sponsor me lol."
"Excellent place! The meat department is well stocked with lots of choices. It was busy today, Easter, but the staff was fast and efficient. We will be back"

"I decided to try this grocery store because I saw it on Yelp and it was close to the house. Super neat and clean inside! A nice selection of products. A huge deli and meat counter. And a nice selection of frozen foods too. The produce looked nice but it might have been just a little on the high side as far as prices concerned. Super friendly service. I will definitely be back."
"Not very glamorous mexican supermarket, but the food is delicious! The whole right side of the market is a hot foods area - tacos, burritos, gorditos, you name it. Prices are super affordable and they cut the meat/prep the dish right in front of you! Salsa is super spicy."
