"My go-to gyro spot.I love, love Greek food, and this hits the spot every time.I'm pretty sure it's family owned. The services is great. Food is great. Nothing to complain about here!"
"Great place to have some delicious food, and then shop for some goodies to bring home. Had a mezze sampler, and beef shwarma. Mezze included generous portions of bannaganoush, hummus, dolmathes and the white sauce like tzatziki. Plenty of pita bread to scoop with.My schwarma was delicious, and ample. Had to share the mezze plate, can't eat that much anymore.Counter order, friendly guys, they bring to the table, in our case, quickly. The store is so stocked with everything one needs to cook middle eastern at home. Clean store. Will be returning."

"Dee-licious Jordanian food!I love that Scottsdale has so many choices of places to eat. De Babel would be one I would consider to be near the top of my list. It's moderately priced, outstanding food, and some beautiful food. You will walk away full, satisfied, and looking forward to more food to eat the next day. It's very family friendly, too.The pita pockets are obviously handmade, thicker than I am accustomed to, and filled with good stuff: your choice of meat, cucumber, tomato, pickle. Several members of our family went with gyros meat. I picked one filled with grilled halloumi. We were all very pleased. The fries are beyond heavenly. Not only are they their own fresh cut potatoes, they are seasoned beautifully. We got two side orders of fries and could not keep our jaws from dropping when they arrived. Super crispy. Huge. One of the orders was the amazing truffle cheese fries. These are beyond reproach. All in all, two orders were more than 6 of us could finish, even though we tried hard. But yes, get them anyway! And definitely bring them home for a second and even a third chance. We ordered a mixed sampler, the Mixed Mezza, a beautiful, generous platter, which came with hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, and pickles. The baba ganoush was so smoky good, the stuffed grapeleaves were moist and flavorful. We added a side of okra that made me giddy. It is stewed with tomatoes, garlic, and cilantro until very tender. I need to remember to cook it that way at home now that I tasted it.The only thing that I regret was not getting to taste the fried cauliflower and their crispy za'atar pita chips. Well, I guess lamb and lentil soup might have to be in consideration, too. I guess that is for when we come back, which indeed we will!"
"Delicious gyro and lemon chicken soup! My gyro has a little too many raw onions and tomatoes, but the tomatoes were finely diced and the onions were thinly sliced. The gyro meat was beautifully grilled and was not compressed meat, but still had the texture of real meat. The pita was warm and wrapped. The soup is comfort to the max. Rice cooked down to a porridge, flavors of chicken accented with the zing of lemon. It is an elevated Chicken Soup for the Soul. They won't seat until your whole party arrives."
"You have to try this place to believe it.Family owned and operated , great local restaurant that serves the freshest and tastiest shawarmas. They also have a cute patio.Service is warm and friendly.Love the gyros, souvlaki, Baba ganoush, Greek fries.I'm a fan of the secret shawarma sauce and tzatziki All the dips are full of flavor.Don't forget to grab some baklava for dessert.Cheers!"
"Hubs and I worked up an appetite after watching a movie nearby. We decided to check out Phoenicia Cafe. We were greeted and seated right away. The space itself is quite spacious and bright, with plenty of available seating. We ordered the following:Arabic coffee $4.99Shrimp ghallaba $18.99Gyros pita $10.99Baklava $2.99The coffee was fantastic. It was strong and unique. I really liked it. My entrée was the shrimp ghallaba which had shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes, carrots and rice and hummus. It was flavorful. The portion was quite generous, and I had to take some of it to-go. Hubs had the gyro and he said it was okay. Before leaving, I just had to try the baklava - we ordered it to-go and proceeded to eat it in the car on the way home. It was delicious! In fact, we wished we had ordered two!"
"This place is an incredible hidden gem ! We had the chicken / beef kabobs with rice and tzatziki sauce.. wow ! Cooked to perfection, the rice was so flavorful and fluffy , the sauce was incredible.... I will definitely be going back and I'm so excited to have discovered this! I am going to try the baklava this week ! The owner was there and such a great guy & personable ! Love when small businesses are so fantastic."
"While out and about on Saturday afternoon we decided to stop by west gate for some drinks and possible food. Our first stop was a dud and the music so loud our ears needed time to calm. We saw Opa Life and no wait so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated right away. The noise level was great and a few TV's at the bar were playing sports. The menu is small, but had some great options. We weren't too hungry as we'd ate earlier in the day so we decided to share the chicken souvlaki skewer which comes with two sides. We chose the Greek salad and rice. We ordered some beer and water. Beer was cold and water refreshing. Our food came out quick and was plated phenomenally. From the first bite to the last it was all delicious. I'm so surprised at the lack of customers. It's bright and clean inside, service was good and we had no issues. The other patrons inside seemed happy as well. This was our first time here and of course I've not tried other menu items, but I felt portions were huge and enjoyed it. The servers I will say looked bored, one sitting chatting with someone not sure if customers or owner, others just grouped near the front. Hopefully it's not this slow everyday."
"King Gyros is an an excellent place to go for food simply because of the portentous portions. I got a gyro plate with no onions: it included two pita breads, some tomatoes, a small salad, fries, and lots of gyro meat. I am not a fan of salad so I was pleasantly surprised by how great the salad was. I thought the fries were average. But the gyros and sauce were excellent. I tried out the deep fried zucchini and it was above average. Overall, I couldn't even finish the gyro plate because there was so much food. My whole order came out to $18.46."
"I went with the gyro and it was fantastic. The meat was flavorful and moist. The pita bread and sauce were very flavorful as well. My table was a little dirty from the previous guest so hopefully they can check the dining area more frequently in the future."
"Greek salads & gyros are our favorite here! Authentic Greek food. So yummy! Only complaint is you get a very small container of dressing for a large salad and to get a second small container, are $1 each. A little high for such a small amount. However it won't stop us from going back!!"

Ordered pick up via DoorDash and food was ready at the expected time! Located in a small plaza and is split between a market and restaurant in the same space. Very casual and low key. Friendly service.Got the kabab combo and the meats were all tender and great. Some pieces of chicken were dry but others good. Big portion for 1 so could be 1.5 or 2 meals for some. Rice was nice and fluffy. Wish pita was thicker and softer. Arabic salad and hummus were delicious.Good option if you're nearby. Not my fave for middle eastern food in town but close second!

Not only have I been following the fabulous reviews for De Babel for awhile, but I'd tasted their hummus at a friend's house too, so I was excited when an opportunity arose to try it firsthand...My husband and I made our way in for a spontaneous dinner date last night after dropping our kids at nearby Soccer Lab for a session. We saw some friends when we walked in and talked to them for a bit and then I ordered at the counter with the help of the owner and another employee. Everyone was extremely warm, welcoming and helpful.I landed on ordering a Schnitzel Plate with a side of hummus and chopped salad and a Tawook Plate with a side of baba ghanoush and fatoush... Now I know better as this was way too much food for the two of us, but we gladly took home our leftovers! As others have said, this restaurant is fast casual, with high quality, fresh and healthy Middle Eastern cuisine. Prices are very reasonable, portions are very large, and service is super friendly. We will absolutely be back to support this wonderful local business!

What a hidden gem! I love good customer service and this place was great. The greater who sat us at our table was a sweetheart. Our waitress was also great. Made sure we had refills in our coffee. The food was great! I had the corned beef hash and it was good. Different from what I was used to. The corned beef was cubed? Looked like ham but tasted like corned beef. But I didn't mind. I still ate it. lol My husband has eggs bacon and potatoes. He asked for salt on his eggs and potatoes which he hardly does but that's just preference. I'd rather my meal not be overly salted! This place reminds me of what old school Dennys use to be like. It was crowded on a Saturday morning. But the wait was less than 10mins for 2! Looked like everyone around us was enjoying their meals. Will go back again when I'm in the area. Love this kind of mom and pop shops! Good job guys.keep up the good work.

This remains a hidden gem of Chandler for me as the food is ALWAYS solid, customer service is great, and if it's not so hot, the patio is the ideal spot to enjoy your lunch. Always look at the specials as they offer a nice twist. This time around it was lamp chops so a few of us jumped on them. They were excellent & the portions didn't disappoint. Good food, another great experience, and will continue to return.

We were Looking for new places to explore, and options to dine in. Wanted to try Mediterranean and came across this little café in Gilbert. It was a week day and was pretty packed. There was a lot of orders for GrubHub and other online deliveries. The customer service was excellent. We were welcomed greeted and explained about all the menu items. We went with Greek fries, chicken Shawarma, and Philly cheese Shawarma.Everything arrived fresh and looking absolutely fantastic . The Greek fries was pre-loaded with cheese and ranch. We thought it was all right. The Philly cheese Shawarma was the best of all, the sauce was excellent the chicken cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty. Overall, we had a good filling meal. Upon checking, realized that this business has been there for 19 years and they have another branch in Tempe. We ended our meal with homemade baklava. Everything tasted good. The pricing is not bad and with tons of food, they hit ball out the park.

Amazing Mediterranean food! This local shop has been run by the same family in the same strip mall spot for 20 years. We came for takeout gyros plate which came with gyro, pita, saffron rice, pita, tomato, onion, and sauce. The food was fantastic! I'm getting hungry just writing this review. I need to come back to try the kebabs, a gyro sandwich, and baklava!A few tunes to know:- The saffron rice comes with optional raisins and almonds. I recommend trying opting in! - I read online that there is a stewed lamb special on Fridays and Saturdays. I am not sure if this is still true.- This restaurant does catering

"We ate here the first night in the area. We had the basic gyros and the baklava. The gyros were priced similarly to most Greek restaurants. The size of the gyros was large. Definitely got our money's worth. The staff was ver personable. The restaurant is decorated in a modern vacation-like motif. Very clean. The baklava was decent. I'm not a connoisseur of baklava. We are in the area for the winter. We plan on visiting again soon."
"Updated my review. Have not been here in a while. Ordered dinner for offspring and myself. I had the the lamb gyro. Offspring had chicken tenders and the Italian beef sandwich plus two orders of Greek fries.Large portions, excellent flavors and great value given the state of everything. Place is clean and excellent service. Put this one on your list and let's support small local business."
"I eat here quite a bit with both family and colleagues. Nice casual atmosphere with good food and outdoor seating when the weather is right. The Avgolemono soup is fabulous. I'm trying to figure out how to replicate it at home because I love it. So bright and delicious. They also have a good selection of salads, bowls and classic Greek fare. The flaming cheese is fun and delicious as is the baklava cheesecake. Yum!I've always had good service and good experiences."
"I've been wanting to have a gyro at George's Kitchen for some time and finally was able to experience it.I was a little surprised to learn that you order at the counter, take your number, go sit down where you want to, and the food will eventually be brought to you. I guess I didn't do my research beforehand to know that this was the case, but no worries, the food is good!I ordered a gyro and side salad. The meat was a little crispy, but I like it that way, so I enjoyed the gyro and ate my entire side salad. Of course, I was pretty full by the time that I'd eaten everything! They do have specials daily that do look very interesting that I would like to try when I'm not in the mood for a gyro. There is also a lunch menu. It's a great casual restaurant to grab a bite to eat with a diverse menu (not just Greek food)."
"I like this place we come here often. It is one of our regular restaurants. The ambiance is quite, they used to play music but not in my last time. Customer service is good. The food is really good specially the Greek fries. The prices are reasonably because this is not just a gyro stand is a real restaurant. Plenty of sitting tables and parking lot space."
"We stopped in on our way to Flagstaff. The location was great for an easy hop off and on the highway. The restaurant has a nice indoor dining area and some outdoor seating. I had the gyro meal with came with fries and a drink. I chose unsweetened ice tea. My husband chose the chicken gyro meal. The service at the counter was quick and efficient and it was nice that they brought the order to us. We'd definitely stop in again."
"I ordered take out back to back days and forgot to take picsThis place is delicious!!!!My fav item was the Lamb Gyro pita. My second fav was the beef shawarma pita. The cuts of beef was juicy and tender. The French fries are average. The hummus is AMAZING!!! I tried all three. The house, roasted pepper and jalapeño The jalapeño was the BEST hummus I have ever had. Love this place!"
"This is one of the nicer fast casual places to eat in the Tempe Marketplace food court area. The food court is located right next to Harkins Movie Theatres. It's All Greek to Me has a variety of Greek dishes to choose from. Menu consist of Greek favorites like Hummus, Shawarma, Falafel, Kufta and Gyro. Pick a protein and make it a wrap or plate. Make it a combo and get more than one item. They will even put your protein on top of hummus with a pita. I got the Beef Gyro Bowl and appreciated all the meat that they piled on my bowl."
"First time trying their food, and won't be the last! We called in a to-go order about 4:30pm on a Saturday. We were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. We drove over from Buckeye, which took 20 minutes, and our order was just being finished up. I had a Greek salad with gyro meat. It was fantastic. Everything tasted fresh, the greens nice and crisp. There was lots of meat. I would definitely get this again. My husband had the gyros plate, and he thoroughly enjoyed it, too. His whole container was loaded with meat and fries!"
"Came in to this place for lunch and work- which was great because they had wifi. The place itself is decorated with middle eastern vibes/modern- cute. The place wasn't super busy and the service by the man at the front was kind and tentative. I ordered a platter to try a couple of things and I was very happy with it. The meat was cooked just right- not over done or anything"
"I was craving a Gyro, and so glad I found this place.Super tasty and tender. Looks family owned and you can tell they take pride in what they do.Will definitely return to try some other items."
"Love the Greek food at this restaurant! The gyros are cooked perfectly. Nice and thin and a little crispy on the edges. Can't wait to go back.!"
"We had both been sick and we're finally getting our appetite back. We decided a trip to the Pita Cafe was warranted. One of the staff was rearranging chairs outside when we arrived. He nicely opened the door for us to enter to cafe. Their staff are the best. I started to try a different dish but was talked right back into my standard chicken shawarma pita order and a gyro pita to be different. I added baklava to the mix and was told it would be 5 minutes. In the meantime I had a cold glass of sparkling water while I waited. As always, they brought my take out to the area I was seated. Staff showed me how to identify the gyro from the shawarma. Very clever (see pix) as they wrote gyro on the styrofoam box with dotted lines below the word. Staff explained that was where I could find the gyro without having to unwrap it. If you look at the pix of the meals you'll see how chocked full of protein both are. They are very generous with their succulent meats. True to form, the pitas are absolutely delicious with moist tasty meats. We love these pitas and keep coming back. Forgot to mention that the baklava is flaky and dripping with honey. Yummy dessert. Shared parking spaces."
"Unassuming Mediterranean restaurant located in shopping center. Menu board above the register. That menus has more traditional items. Additional menu items are posted on the window next to the drink refrigerator. These are mostly sandwiches, burgers and sides. Specials may be seen from the front window as guests approach. Portions on the gyro plate are large. Flavorful rice was topped with gyro meat. Meat was not dried out. Another compartment had a small salad. Vegetables in the salad were fresh. Pita bread was lovely. Bread was pillow soft inside with a bit of a chew. Taziki had a slight tang to it. Hummus was the only part of the plate I did not particularly care for. It was more chunky than I prefer. My husband had the chicken shawarma pita. Chicken and vegetables were wrapped in a pita. Chicken was well seasoned and tender. Vegetables were fresh. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Inside has a large TV. At the time of our visit, sports were on the TV. I like that the outdoor seating is along the side of the building. It feels less like being in a strip mall."
"I've eaten inside Athena Pita 4 times so far, always combo #1 of gyro, fries, and a drink. Have zero complaints. The counter staff is always friendly and speedy. The food comes out hot and tasty. Their fries are to die for- so crispy!Seems like the poor reviews are coming from folks who used delivery services. Just go and eat there! This type of food doesn't travel well."
"Good food although service. Nice employees and seems to be family oriented. Great Greek Salad and the Gyro Pita was delicious; very tender meat.Decent bar with all the basics. Spacious and clean."
"Okay this review update is to help my future self! Yes we conquered yet again. We are that crazy to drive all the way from Surprise to get a salad from here! One of mine and my mom's favorite places to go!Customer service was awesome once again. You can see they really try hard. We realized after this second visit it is their sweet tasting balsamic vinegar dressing that makes their salads the bomb! So, note to self: arugula salad with balsamic dressing for me, for mom: cobb salad minus the corn and also balsamic dressing! It was funny to see as we too joined in on the adventure with many others picking up salads on how to get our salads by dropping one of us off at the door and driving around the block for a quick swoop to save $4.00 on parking for a well worth it salad. I don't mind at all, but my mom just can't get past it. Many food service drivers were parking right in front under the no stopping here sign. Haha I picked up my mom playing Judas Priest (Breaking the law). If this place ever has issues with foot traffic, do not close just relocate!"
"I wanted to update my review to show my all time love for JJ's. The portions are huge and the freshness is incredible. Did I mention the great friendly service?! All and all whether you are ordering a salad, a pita or even desert JJ's is a must stop for a great meal.!"
"This place is incredible!! Anytime, my friend I come here the same girl is here taking orders, she knows exactly what we want and she is soooo friendly! Today, we called in our order, but we arrived a little later than expected. It was still really good. I would recommend only calling in your order order five minutes before you arrive so that your food is in there sitting and waiting. They do tend to get a little busy in the afternoon, but it's never anything super terrible. It's always clean and tiddy."
"This is a DIVE, only one table outside, wild dogs running around and a drive through liquor store next door, can't get any more "whole in the wall" than this. The food is great so don't be intimidated by the location of this place. Everything is fresh and made to order. The gyro plate is outstanding.Parking may be tricky but again the food is great."
"Always a good dinner spot as they're quick and a good value. We came on a Friday and barely a wait."
"Great stop for fresh 'fast' food. I had the steak platter and I loved everything about it. The rice is great as is their tzatziki! Nice, big portions so it fed me for a couple meals. Will come again!"
