"Made a special trip to this new-to-me spot in QV and really enjoyed my time! Had a 3 star experience during my visit, but I think we caught the staff here on an off day and that it isn't normally as chaotic as what we experienced. It was President's Day so lots of folks were off and looking for their coffee / sandwich fix. I will go back during a less hectic time and hope to update!A few things to note:+ Music in here is a little too loud to work or study, for my taste.+ Go early if you want something specific. Most bagels were out of stock by the time I ordered, and I ordered a sesame but still got served a whole wheat that was...a little suspect and not my first choice. Super dry (though the sandwich itself was bomb) and would have been nice to be alerted that what they told me they had available they did, in fact, have available. + Staff could not keep up with the orders that were coming in and it lead to a really unpleasant ordering experience. The team here was part gossiping, part taking phone orders, part handling incoming online tickets, and part taking our orders. I had some questions about the menu that ultimately weren't answered but a good lesson for myself to come better prepared next time!+ The cold brew here was either way oversteeped or whatever beans they use are simply not too my taste. I LOVE a strong and bold cold brew, but this packed a punch to the point of being really unpleasant. Even when my partner diluted with milk it was more or less undrinkable and we ended up tossing it.All that being said, the sandwiches are phenomenal! My boyfriend had a breakfast burrito that was one of the best he's had and my BEC was jam-packed with goodness and Heinz ketchup was readily available - which I always appreciate. The side of potato salad is a nice touch and really good as well.I am looking forward to a return trip next time I find myself bopping around QV!"
"Very quick service - to the point where it was a bit scary. We order and within 5 minutes all the food was out. We skipped drinks - pricy but looked good. Enjoyed the decor. Top dishes were the eggplant , the mushrooms sliders and the crab cakes Strongly disliked the dry edamame dumplings. Meatballs were ok but the star of the dish was the focaccia"

Visit Restaurant Page"This was such a great restaurant to stumble upon. I had never been into the Market at the Fairway and while I saw a variety of restaurant options, I had to patron a veg place bc I can eat everything!Sure I wanted the whole menu, so I settled on the Pinocchio Cheesesteak (since I never get to eat the real Philly kind). When I picked up my plate, the first thing I said was, wow, this chef truly believes in his food. It was beautiful AND delicious to boot!!I'll be back, there's so much I want to try"
"I have been eating at Aman's for many years now. The food is always delicious and fresh. I prefer to eat vegetarian dishes here.I especially love their Samosa, garlic naan and Vegetable Manchurian...little vegetable balls in a not too spicy, tomato-based sauce. Their mango lassis are the best, as is their chai tea.I have never had a complaint."
"Let me tell you how this place speaks for itself without speaking. I was walking by and noticed the ceiling to floor windows and patrons dining right at tables next to the window. The place was packed and I knew the next time I was in the area I had to check it out. And that's just what I did. As soon as I walked in I felt warm and like I was in for a great experience. The ambiance is inviting and beautiful, I almost thought I was in an art museum. The lighting is just right. There's plenty of space and seating top to bottom. Friendly staff. And who doesn't appreciate a well kept restaurant, it was spotless including the rest room. The food is spot on. Best green curry in town. Best tom yum soup. Pad Thai spot on. One thing I've always appreciated with Thai food in general is that it's well seasoned. All the flavors came together well. I didn't feel like anything was missing from any of the dishes. Each dish hit the right notes. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes here really. Especially since you can request your level of spice. One thing to remember here is there's a 3% card processing fee applied when paying by card. Which some restaurants have started to do these days. If that doesn't bother you fine, if it does, make sure you bring plenty of cash to avoid the extra charge.Chatayee is a must visit and multiple follow up visits."
"Fantastic all around: decor, drinks, food, bartenders, staff, vibes. My favorite kind of spot that totally owns its originality and makes anyone feel welcomed and at-home.I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, wings, and parmesan pepper tots. The tots are addicting comfort food that I absolutely recommend not skipping. I appreciate that they have great vegan options and imagine the whole menu translates really well to takeout, if that's the kind of vibe you're feeling instead. The sandwich was super filling and not overly spicy, if you're a spice hesitant person.I grabbed a cider on tap and also tried the Cosmo Cloud cocktail, served with cotton candy and an absolute treat. I don't think I could do more than one (especially since this drink comes with a shaker full of cocktail remains...so it almost drinks like two cocktails) but I highly recommend giving it a go if you're in a sweet tooth kind of mood.Cannot wait until my next visit to South Street and Tmoms! Follow along on their social for all the fun and collabs they cook up all year long."
"This is spot is located in the Deco Food Hall. I've only tried it once. I tried "the problem" on the advice of a coworker. It's pretty large so good for sharing with someone or saving for leftovers. The taste was pretty good but think the kale on top could have either been chopped up more or possibly grilled/steamed. The rest of the ingredients are cooked. Overall pretty good, and I'm glad when I can find unique veggie options. They also have a chickpea tuna sandwich that I need to try soon!"
"Delcious vegetarian restaurant. They have a easy online ordering site. Its a unique little place. I love the food, its a generous portion size and taste yummy!"
"What a gem!I came to meet up with an old friend for brunch. We were asked to sit wherever we wanted and was greeted immediately. There's plenty of sweet and savory dishes on the brunch menu. I ordered the roasted garlic sopes and oh my heaven. The flavors were not lacking. The mushroom chorizo was perfectly seasoned as were the beans. Admittedly, I do not follow a vegan diet, but am strictly dairy-free. Enjoying a meal here that has "cheese" without the worry of feeling ill afterwards was a bonus. My friend ordered the french toast and enjoyed her meal as well. Our server was also very attentive and personable. We cannot wait to return for a dinner soon!"
"We were walking around in the area looking for a restaurant to stumble into and once we saw how crazy the line was for monster vegan, we decided to follow the crowd lol Tables had a 90 minute wait but bar seating was open and of course that's what we chose. The ambiance reminded me of '70s and '80s horror movies, which I adore. They were playing black and white horror flicks on a big screen and the tire place was decorated like you stepped into a futuristic Halloween party. We ordered some horror movie theme drinks that both basically tasted the same. The drinks weren't bad at all but it basically was a rum punch type taste. .I ordered the vegan burger and fries. The fries were pretty tasty and the burger wasn't bad but not as put together as I would like. I feel like the condiments kind of outweighed the burger itself but it was still a solid burger. The price point is what you would expect for a center city trendy bar restaurant. Because of my love of horror movies and alternative eating options, I would definitely come back for happy hour. :-)"
"Grind house has vegan baked goods from Crust bakery and they are delicious! The cinnamon rolls are so soft!!! Definitely want to come back to try their sandwiches and coffee."
"Yummy! I had sabich & my friend had a Falafel sandwich. I was in Israel recently & this place is as good!"

Stopped in here randomly for a quick breakfast and was really glad I did. It can be easy to miss if you don't know where to look. Inside, the vibes are really cute and quirky. There's a lot of fun artwork on the walls.I ordered a breakfast burrito and blackberry latte to go. At first I was a little annoyed at the price, but burrito was huge and delicious and worth it. The latte was a unique flavor and I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but it grew on me. The service was also very pleasant and cheery, especially considering it was first thing on a Monday morning. This would be a great place to enjoy a quiet breakfast and coffee with a book- something I fully plan on doing in the future.

After a handful of visits I figured it was time for a review! I've been for both weeknight dinners and a Saturday lunches and have always been met with friendly and quick service in the charming space. I do love that that menu is changed out seasonally and if I'm being honest the lunch menu has been my favorite! I've never had such a great plant based omelette before and the avocado toast is delicious! Cocktails/Mocktails are creative and very enjoyable! Such a great spot to stop into during a stroll down 4th St if you're lucky enough to grab a seat, highly suggest a reservation!

Omnivore here. The flavors and textures are spot on. So glad to have this spot in the neighborhood. I've also heard great things about the weekend chefs selection served at the counter. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

I'm not from Philly but every timeI visit I have to come here. Their pork belly pad kee mao is my favorite. Their pad thai and pad see ew are amazing as well. Staff here is incredible! They are always welcoming and attentive. Their cocktails and mocktails are great too. If you have a chance, be sure to check this place out!

I see why one of my friends loves this place. I was hoping for the special teri beef sando sandwich but no luck. Vegan sweet bbq wings and reasonably priced cool cocktails are nice here. This is a cool place and reminds me of older South Street except it is still around. They support the community here and have good food and drinks. What more can you ask for?

I went to Wilmington for a weekend date ...and guess what? THIS WAS THE BEST MEAL I HAD THE ENTIRE WEEKEND!!!As much as I liked the food, I have to shout out to Tamara, who was working the kitchen. She was chatty and fun to talk to despite the fact that we were still waking up. She knew the food she was making and answered questions like a pro. I don't know if she's the owner, but she was an excellent host. Thank you Tamara!I highly recommend the "Boss Burger". Vegan burgers can vary, so I'm always curious. I'm not sure how to describe this, but unlike so many burgers that just taste "good", this was an explosion of delicious flavors in my mouth. My girlfriend had the "Sweet Pineapple BBQ hot pocket". Also good! If I had to choose, I'd take the burger, but I'm not complaining. Both portions were large, so it might seem "expensive", but it's not (I'm 6' + 190lbs.). :-)The restaurant itself is in a food court with a bar and places for coffee and other interesting-looking food.

Came across this gem last week and we are HOOKED! We are not even vegetarians! Everything is so fresh and delicious! I do not even need or notice theres no meat in my lunch! Customer service is absolutely amazing. Love the option to substitute items. Keep up the great work, guys!
Visit Restaurant Page"Gotta give props to Pietramala...not only a great destination for vegans, but for omnivores alike. If you are not a vegetarian or vegan, I would still highly recommend trying this spot out. It's a cozy & quaint, storefront-esk type of dining experience. We had the pleasure of sitting at one of the booths, which comfortably sat 4 of us, right at the front window. We had great views of the entire restaurant, open-air kitchen, and plenty of opportunity for people watching on busy 2nd street. Their menu is pretty impressive - nice variety and creative offerings. They tout a focus on seasonality, fermentation, and preservation - and that is easy to see. While the food itself was good, I was most impressed by the appearance. It felt like each plate had vibrant color combinations and overall eye catching plating techniques. They recommend 2-3 plates per person, so as a party of 4, we just ordered one of everything + dessert. We found that it was the perfect amount of food for your group. Some of my favorite bites:- Honeynut Squash: I thought their pumpkin seed tahini was really innovative, and really matched two earthy flavors together nicely. The touch of habanero was the kicker here - gave it a great level of spice. - Golden Beets: Loved the sweet and sour combination - Sweet Potato: Their house hot sauce was delicious! - Tagliatelle: the "ragu" of the woods was tender and did a great job of holding the tomato miso sauce. The only real hang up we had was on their corkage fee...a little funny that they are a BYO and then charge people to open the wine. To be fair, I think we had them in a bit of bind by bringing multiple bottles (some of them pre-opened and a mix of wine/liquor) so they just charged us $20 for the table. I would just inquire about this before heading in - they made it seem like it only applies to wine (& perhaps just one bottle.) All-in-all...solid dinner!! Don't hesitate to try it out."
"The food here is really delicious! I was pleasantly surprised from my first visit to now my fifth. The black bean burger, the cauliflower and chickpea tacos, the jammed yam, and the sushi bowl are all winners. I am a meat lover, but I find myself completely satisfied with any of the vegetarian meals I mentioned here. In fact, if I had to give up meat, this would be one of my go-to meal places. It's that good! Everything looks and tastes good really fresh and, I kid you not, will put a smile on your face."
"It's a small but very clean restaurant, with polite and helpful staff. I've only been able to try a few things on the menu so far (egg rolls, lo mein, and fried rice), but all were well-prepared and delicious. Prices and portion sizes are quite fair, and I'm happy to have this place in the neighborhood. For what it's worth, they have a clean Department of Health inspection report from February 2022; available online."
"I had been dying to try this place for such a long time! I always found myself in the area on either Monday's or Tuesday's when they're closed so it took me a lot longer than I would've liked. Finally made it to this 100% plant-based, super chill, kinda earthy, mother/daughter owned space in Germantown. I chose the 'pick a few' option so I could taste multiple dishes on my initial visit. Here are the prices: Small (choice of 3) $12Medium (choice of 4) $16Large (choice of 5) $20 I went a small which was piled high with BBQ mushrooms, the "tuna" made from butternut squash and seas greens and the chickpea chili. Completely shocked by how much I enjoyed the "tuna". That was definitely my wild card pick and I'm glad I decided to go for it! The consistency was great and didn't freak me out at all. A slightly "fishy" flavor, but not too overpowering. Easily eaten with just a fork!I loved the chickpea chili and could easily eat an entire bowl of it! Warm spices, hearty bites...perfect for a cold day The mushrooms were my least favorite of the bunch. Good. Just not "wow" like I had wanted. I saved leftovers for hubs and he agreed. Just a tad off from a BBQ flavor. I couldn't leave without a dessert to bring home to the kiddos (ok, I may or may not have had a taste). I went with a slice of raw vegan cheesecake served with thick gooey, sweet strawberry sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The creamiest vegan cheesecake I've ever tasted with a date and nut crumbly crust. It was coconut based and did taste like it. Non coconut fans will want to skip this one and try another one of their tempting treats. Space was large and filled with greenery. Calming. I really enjoyed speaking with the owner, the mother, about her business and veganism in general. We're all soul-sisters in a sense. Can't wait to return when I'm in the neighborhood again on the correct day :) Bring those quarters. Old school meters on Germantown Ave.Check out the bulletin board for local happenings and workshops."
"PHILADELPHIA, PA/Point Breeze: a new South Philly location of this popular restaurant, LUHV FOOD has the delicious vegan food that you have been looking for.An amazing selection of sandwiches like a reuben, bacon, egg, and cheese, cheesesteak, ch'ken parmesan, tuna salad, and so much more, along with hearty salads, soups, sides, and dessert....all at REASONABLE prices! Hey, Luhv, can we get one of your locations in New Jersey?! They even have a deli where you can buy items by the pound and Luhv's own branded products. This location allowed us to dine inside with Brie (leashed dogs allowed) and there are 2 spaces: a small downstairs area and a surprisingly big upstairs space. You can also dine at their outdoor tables. A cute spot with great food and makes the wallet happy."
"I love this place and hate their prices. Everything is vegan, customer service is excellent, and the brazil nut milk is made in-house.I had the elvis smoothie, green fiend juice, and almond butter blueberry muffin. The muffin is impressive - dense, moist, and flavorful. I'm usually not a fan of vegan muffins, but I'm now a convert. The elvis smoothie and green fiend juice were refreshing and energizing. I wished for more almond butter in the smoothie and more green apple in the juice, but both were otherwise good."
"What else can I say about new Delhi?!? One of my favorite buffets in West Philly and the food just keeps getting better. I noticed On some nights for dinner buffet they don't have samosas but everything else is available. I don't know what they did to the chickpea recipe, but it's so much better than I remembered. I also love that they have drink specials everyday ranging from $4 glasses of wine to $7 mixed drinks. I love me some dry wine with the spicy food that's for sure..I'm getting old these days and I can only handle about two plates at the buffet LOL My summer goal is to definitely do an unofficial Yelp. Hang out here with some cool folks one day!!"
"I ordered Hibiscus via Uber Eats. I wanted something fresh and healthy. I haven't eaten at this place in a while, so it was a perfect choice to get back to loving their food. They give good portions and good flavors. I ordered the super powers smoothie, garden wrap salad and salmon platter with veggies and jerk sauce. I definitely could've bought two of the super power smoothies because it was so refreshing and tasty. The super power smoothie contains, blueberries, strawberries, antioxidants, gogi berries, sea moss and rice milk. I was initially interested in ordering it because it has the added bonus of sea moss. The smoothie is a beautiful dark red or purple color and has a thick consistency. I couldn't wait to drink it from the look alone. I'm definitely thinking about getting another smoothy soon. Maybe one of their green goddess smoothies. The salad is a very simple and delicious. It has fresh crunchy lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and avocado and a side of sesame vinegarette dressing. It was wrapped in a tortilla and cut in half. The portions was enough for one hungry person. I also ordered the salmon platter option with brown rice, sautéed veggies and jerk sauce. The jerk sauce was a good flavor and little spicy. The brown rice was accompanied with brown beans and the salmon cooked well. I was given a lot of salmon, enough to share a piece with someone else. The meal was so filling I couldn't eat it all. Wish I lived closer get smoothies everyday. I've never actually went into the store. This is my first time ordering via Uber eats and the previous time someone ordered it for me. Will visit soon!"
"I am a, "Certified Soycrafter" , and, I am looking for a job in a, " Tofu Shop" , in the State of, New Jersey."
"Visited here with some friends prior to a cake-decorating class! The vibe is quite cute and eclectic - it has a great breakfast and lunch feels, so it was perfect for our brunch. They easily accommodated our large party, and service was pretty good despite our big group. We loved that all the mugs we got our coffee in were different and felt like a home-y vibe, and the servers also resonated that feeling. The menu is so vegetarian / vegan friendly! I'm not vegetarian, but I like to dabble in alternative meats / proteins, so I was quite pleased with the options. I opted for the vegan breakfast sandwich - it included a veggie patty, alternative egg, tomato, spinach, and a lovely hollandaise all on a toasted sesame bun. The flavors were so similar to meat, and I really loved the sauce on the sandwich to bring it all together. I really appreciate the side of fresh fruit rather than potatoes, etc. - loved the healthy approach to all their menu items. It was the perfect amount of food to keep me sustained. My friends all enjoyed their dishes as well, getting a variety of sweet and savory and breakfast and lunch options. The coffee was nothing to write home about, but it was a great wakeup for the day. The prices were pretty reasonable, but maybe a bit steep for the area. Overall, Green Fork was a great brunch for a large group nearby our event space. This is an extremely vegetarian-friendly spot, so I highly recommend for anyone looking for these options and for healthier options!"
"The food is out of this world! Looks like maybe one should avoid the Jicama wrap, but otherwise, everything else I've seen and had is excellent. The beef and cheese empanadas are out of this world! I mean they alone are worth having as your only meal and traveling from Philadelphia just to have- they are that could. Juicy "meat", flavorful dough- just all around crispy and tender and oh-so-good! You don't have to be a vegetarian to go ecstatic about this. It's one of Wilmington's latest best kept secrets. Some may say the preparation time can be like 10-30 minutes because there is so much care to the food and a lot of orders. This place could definitely use some more staff than one person if it's feasible. The strawberry crunch cupcake is flavorful and familiar cupcake textures. The samplers I had at an event beforehand doesn't do justice to capture the quality of flavor and texture of the cupcakes served here. Strong strawberry flavor with a sliver of jam (not too much but just right) and the flavored crumbs complementing the cupcake so well. The smoothie was a healthy blend of different juices and I couldn't have enough of it.In a market that typically only locals might visit because Wilmington doesn't stand out as a city to many, the market itself is beautiful with local musicians who do acoustic performances of your favorite modern, 90s or older cover (you don't usually get to choose), and maybe some local originals depending on the band. Clean facility, visually appealing, clean and plentiful bathrooms, finding the location can be a bit tricky as the windy roads to find downtown can be a bit awkward to an outsider. The garage actually has 3 levels and not two levels like I originally thought, as the basement level "entrance" is at the end of the ground level parking. Don't drive? "No problem!" Take that d@m# regional rail to the Wilmington stop, and then walk those 18 minutes or so to the other side of town to eat here. You won't regret it!When you go in, if you don't notice the elevator to your right, there is another one across the hallway on your left, then if you took the one on your left, you have to cross the big lobby area to get to the market. Also, I received a Chancery discount card at a Yelp Elite event and it had a QR code on it. The code did not apply a discount at all and RootAF told me only certain vendors took this discount and they weren't one of them. The food here is too good and also of anyone needs to get docked, it is the Chancery market for such a gimmicky card and not RootedAF.You know if it's a bit hard to get to and locals are still coming out that it HAS to be good. Rooted AF fits right in!11/17/23 addition:#ThankYouThursday for having a place that offers quality, flavorful food at reasonable prices and even in a less noticed venue for non-locals. Making a healthy alternative delicious and not feeling like I am eating medicine!"
"A unique and mission-based addition to Main St that serves zero proof drinks (that taste real though) and vegan food. We came here to throw our friend a little sprinkle, which was perfect so we could enjoy some specialty drinks altogether. As someone who enjoys cocktails and eats meat, I still had an enjoyable experience, especially with the kind service. The one con we experienced was the cleanliness - our table was sticky upon arrival and many of our water glasses had to be returned due to being dirty."
"I don't take 5 stars lightly, but this place left me with a (grind)CORE memory. I didn't see the sign outside that said "All Vegan" and from the food you wouldn't even be able to tell it was! I got a latte here with non-dairy milk (of course) which didn't cost extra (in this economy??) which was really good. I got the basic sandwich which was tofu on a Philadelphia roll. I'm not sure what sauce or cheese or seasoning they use, but it was amazing! Seriously may call them for the recipe. Everything was super reasonably priced (especially for it being vegan). There are a few high chairs at the front, but wouldn't bring a laptop or sit-down work. They have a bathroom in the back which was small, but clean. The baristas were really nice and very hip. Overall, this place is on the GRIND and it's definitely working for them. Will definitely be going back!"
"This place is so incredibly interesting....and delish! Jamaican influenced vegan soul food? Count me in! Stopped by for a takeout lunch while I was in the area. I may make a habit of being close by more often after tasting what Nile has to offer!I walked through tons of lush greenery after I entered the open yet welcoming, uber casual space. Half of it is designated for various items for sale including oils, clothing and percussion instruments. What a nice surprise it was to be treated to a drumming sesh while waiting for my food to be served up. Awesome! There's a pretty small menu and platter deals such as 1 main and two sides or 1 main and three sides and so on. I went with the first option. Torn between the BBQ "chicken" and the Jerk "chicken", the kind gentleman who has been vegan since 1980 and provided amazing conversation steered me towards the jerk. It was amazing!! Full of flavor, a hint of spice and an awesome meaty texture!! Definitely give it a try! *They offer both wheat and soy proteins and list them clearly on the menu board for anyone curious. I was originally a tad disappointment they were out of cornbread as a side option later in the afternoon by the time I visited. Because hello, vegan cornbread! I went for brown rice and collard greens instead. Boy was I wrong thinking the brown rice would be a boring side. It was topped it with the most insanely flavorful gravy!!! Wow! The collards were perfect as well! Intrigued by everything this gem had to offer, I took some chickpea salad, black bean soup and snickerdoodle cake to go also. I just wanted to taste it all! The chickpea salad was an awesome pure protein substitute for a potato salad, but had the same consistency and a similar taste. It was filled with diced crunchy veggies too! The black bean soup had a little heat to it and was filled with big chunky stewed veggies. Delish! The girls gobbled up the cake. It was a nice thick slice and was moist. The vanilla frosting was super creamy and it was drizzled in a delicious sweet, sticky caramel like sauce. Yes, I had a taste! I HAD to! My girls did mention the icing tasted like butter. After tasting I will have to agree while it is delicious, if you're used to the vegan butter Earth Balance, you may just say the same. I don't know for sure that's what they used but I would be extremely surprised if they didn't. All and all, it was an awesome first visit and I look forward to many more! From great convo and hanging out with "my people", to incredibly tasty food, and free entertainment too...there wasn't much not to love from this simple pay at the counter joint with some funky flare. There was an awesome sense of community here and I love being around other people with such a love and passion for animals and Mother Earth. It's a definitely a feel good kind of place vibrating with pure positivity. *They use all filtered water for their cooking and have a filling station. If you have bottles, bring 'em. **Check out the table with flyers for local business and events!*** There's a small parking lot in the back with no line markers, but it's safe to park there, or so I was told by the staff at the restaurant. I had no issues."
"I absolutely loved it here! It's clean & bright & offers made to order unique smoothies, fresh-pressed juices, & acai bowls. They also have wellness shots, charcoal goods, nut butters, protein bars, & powders, plus other grab & go items. I indulged in a cacao avocado smoothie that was to die for!! It was so creamy & thick!! It was decadent & felt like the biggest sugary splurge ever...but without the nasty unhealthy stuff. You would actually have never known that it was perfect for you, consisting of chicory root, flax, & pumpkin butter! Yum!! What I really love here, & what I've never seen at ANY smoothie place, is the option to sub 1/2 banana with 1/2 cauliflower!!! Amazing!! The smoothies are pricey. I paid $9 plus for a small, but it was really plenty. It was the perfect treat for shopping the square.I look forward to having it again!! I also bought my girls mint chocolate hemp bars they loved. Again, pricey, but worth it for the quality. Such an excellent addition to the square! It's located right near the fire pit! The staff was fantastic, helpful, & friendly."
"I had great expectations about The Tasty for it was named the number one vegan diner in America in the recent Veg News Best of 2024 issue. On a recent trip to Philly I stayed a short walk from The Tasty. When I went here to refuel post-yoga practice a little past half past 12pm on a Sunday afternoon had mixed emotions for the restaurant was packed so was happy so many folks were enjoying all vegan cuisine and also bummed because there was no indoor dining since they closed at 2pm. I had no alternative, but to take whatever vegan delight I ordered to go. I ordered the deluxe breakfast burrito aka tofu scramble vegan cheddar tempeh bacon jalapeno and red onion all topped with vegan sour cream and spicy vegan mayo. It came with a side of home fries. I found the service friendly and prompt. Happy that this all vegan diner was popular. I took a walk home to enjoy it and it was very tasty. 5 stars for the food and 5 stars for the service yet am deducting a star due to not being able to dine in which I love to do when dining out and experience the ambience. The only caveat is the restaurant is small and not much dining. Pro tip- Sundays are the busiest day here so if you want to dine in go on an off day aka Wed or Thurs or get there early on Sat or Sun otherwise you will be left getting take out like me. So I went back here with a friend. We had brunch together and were able to dine in. Excellent friendly welcoming service by Parker. All staff were on point. Ambience here is wonderful. It is small so get here early to dine in. I love the creativity of art in the diner. I had the Tempeh Deluxe Reuben with a side of Caesar Salad. Both were tasty and nourishing. My friend had the deluxe burrito that I previously had and French Toast that I tried and enjoyed. All in all we both loved our meals. Five stars if you can arrive early and land a table in the limited indoor seating. I pursued the baked goods that looked quite alright. A must try if in Philly!"
"What an adorable cafe! This gluten free, vegan cafe is delicious and the staff are knowledgeable, sweet and helpful. They helped direct me to a warm elixir for my cough and took pride in each item they served. The Chickpea based waffles came with absolutely delicious maple ginger syrup and fresh bananas and blueberries."
"I must start off by saying Arnold's is definitely NOT going to be for everyone. It can seem kind of cult-ish. Like the kind you would find in the desert in Cali in the late 60's. Not the Manson following kind, the "we're going to change the world one vegan and a time" kind. And I gotta give it to them, they help out A LOT of people with all types of ailments. Whether it's high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-cancer, obesity, Arnold makes it his mission to heal. I'm a big believer in "let food be thy medicine", and Arnold actually proves it! Arnold himself is always around. Whether he's actually behind the counter cooking up a storm, simply ringing people out, or just chatting about his many books he's written over the years that line the shelves in the space, he's bound to be available. He's an absolute character, and conversations with him can be inspiring. His passion for veganism is obvious and enjoyable to witness. Follow him on Instagram as he interviews patrons and friends, and post coupons! Everyone who frequents Arnold's seem to know at least somebody else, and everyone is always super friendly, striking up plant-based hippie conversations with one another. I personally enjoy the community. Some may just want to come and eat, and mind their own business. I say embrace it all. Like an experience, not just a meal. After all, raw vegan is a lifestyle, not just a diet. They often host 30 day raw vegan challenges, all you can eat nights at such a reasonable price, and pot luck dinners too! If you're a newbie to the raw vegan food movement, definitely start by indulging in one for their famous banana whips aka vegan "ice cream". They have a variety of pre-designed recipes and the option to top your own with healthful add-ins such as cashews, caramel date sauce or cacao. You can even add other fresh fruits such as mango and strawberries too. They are sure to please even the toughest critics of "weirdo veg-heads and the food they eat"I have enjoyed their zucchini noodle fettuccine, thick, filling smoothies and many of their salads. I personally LOVE the open faced "living cracker" sammies best. "Toona" and the "cheeseburger" are my two favorites! They're topped with special sauce, pickles that add the perfect punch, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, and I always add avocado for an addition charge because, well, it's avocado!!! The crackers themselves have awesome texture and it's nice knowing all of the nutrients haven't been cooked or baked out of them. SO YUM! Their desserts are not to be missed either. Raw key lime vegan pie and apple pie are my favorite. The key lime has the perfect tart taste, (but let it thaw a bit), and the apple pie with warm spices and hunks of the fruit with a date mixed nut crust is incredible. I always pick up his kale chips and his "cheese" spread to bring back home, WHEN the cheese is available. It's everyone's favorite! They also sell oils, bulk bags of ingredients such as cacao nibs, coconut oil, hemp seeds, chia seeds, vitamins, Himalayan salt lamps and other health conscious goods, books and foods. The space is inviting and small, but a tad odd. Ordering can be a bit strange too. Order at the counter, pay at the other counter, grab a seat and they'll bring your food out when it's done. Super laid back. Arnold's can be a tad difficult to find as it's located inside a small mall. Bring quarters for meters out front when the parking lot in the back is closed, which it has been recently. I wish Arnold would open a location in the city as raw vegan is my absolute favorite way to eat and this is just sooooo far from Philly. I feel so naturally energized when I eat this way, and I admire the creativity to cook this food so very much. Absolutely worth a try for the slightly more adventurous and open-minded foodies. Food & mission are 5 star in my book. -1 for locale and ambiance. Not sure if that's fair or not."
"This is one of those original places that are few and far between. The menu is creative to say the least. Each item is scratch made from the owner's recipes. Creative and diverse! There is variety in the menu and wow you should see the desserts. You want to be blown away??? Go to this place and have a remarkable meal. It's a walk up counter and seat yourself place but the decor is bright open and as unique as the menu. The food was so enticing I ordered 2 items. DELICIOUS HEALTHY and FUN!!!"
"Vedge has some of the most flavorful and unique vegan and vegetarian dishes I've had. I recently went with a group of my friends, and we had a family style and tried every dish on the menu. My personal favorites were the Smoked Portobello Carpaccio (very fresh and light), Spicy Dan Dan Noodles (definitely does have a kick so be prepared), and the Brassicas Hot Pot with Charred Caullini & Broccoli (the pho broth was so good). The service was professional and our server had great conversation. The old mansion is charming and a great date night place. The prices are on the higher end, so be prepared. Would definitely love to come back again."
"ICreate serves authentic, fresh, healthy, vegan Syrian food. And I couldn't be happier with it. ICreate is couple blocks away from me and I go there once in a while for a quick bite. Such a nice atmosphere, really nice owner and I could sit there for hours. I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates ethnic, homemade vegan food."
"I've been meaning to visit this location for a while because it's close to me. They offer online ordering or in store ordering. It's located inside ShopRite so parking is easy (large lot). I ordered in store and my food was ready in about 7 minutes. I got a tofu bowl and side of spicy broccoli. Both were delish!I'll be back."
"Chilly Banana is the place I frequent more than any other food establishment. I am a deeeeep fruit lover and this hits all the fruity love notes I crave. I know the ice cream space is crowded but save a little space for the immaculate vibes and unique service from this small business.1) the texture of the banana whip is sooo good. So many toppings and choices! I often just go with topping it with more fruit.2) I am so grateful for the authenticity of a Chicago hot dog (you just have to check out my photos for accuracy) that is plant based. You wanna know what's the wildest part. I am not vegan lol. Both my partner and I are that impressed with this hot dog! Also A+ that it wasn't soggy.Make like a banana and split.. your way into this cute shop. Go enjoy the sweet without the guilt! They also have other savory breakfast foods, shakes, and other snacks."
