Takumi Bistro & Bar

An excellent addition to the local Japanese/sushi connoisseur scene. The decor is beautiful inside. The tables include a small lamp which you can adjust the brightness on individually (aka perfect photo lighting) which I greatly appreciated. Our waitresses were friendly but I don't think prepared for the busy night. I only noticed two in our area, and we needed to wave them down each time we needed more drinks, water, main course, etc. Not their fault necessarily so not a huge deal to me. The food was delicious! Although my sisters bf didn't feel the $40 wagyu fried rice was worth the cost, I was very pleased with the freshness of my sushi rolls. And the pork gyoza were some of the best I've ever had! The truffle ramen was very tasty, but I've had better broth. Prices are expected for the mainline overall. Overall it's definitely added to the list, and I believe will only excel in service as they grow!

Takumi is a beautiful new restaurant that has the nicest staff and freshest sushi. Staff was very accommodating and present through the meal.I ordered the creamy kimchi udon. Of note: THIS HAS SHRIMP which is not noted on the menu. This dish was a highlight for me. Every component was fantastic. The sushi was unbelievably fresh. I ordered the fiery roll and a roll (forget the name that had rock shrimp, kani salad, mango sauce, lime zest).Can't wait to return and try some apps and ramen!

I went to Takumi for the first time, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! The quality of food, the PRESENTATION of food (down to the utensils and plating), service, interior design, and cleanliness were all top notch. I have tried many sushi places, and I can say that Takumi is now one of my favorites in the suburbs of PA. I got the salmon tartar and the Out of Control Roll, which were both delicious. The tartar is probably the best tartar I've ever had; it was the perfect blend of citrus-y and savory flavors with very fresh ingredients. The sushi roll was also very fresh and presented very nicely. I got the green tea cheesecake for dessert, which was very flavorful in matcha flavor. I highly recommend Takumi if you're looking for a chic sushi/Asian food spot. Also, Takumi just received its liquor license, so they will be serving cocktails and other alcoholic beverages very soon!

Service was very friendly. The ambiance was very nice. The food was impressive. Every dish was arranged nicely. The sashimi, sushi, crudo, tartar and carpaccio were all very fresh. It was quite pricey though. This was my second time there. I would go back again. The noise level was quite loud the second time, but I am not sure how that could be prevented.

There's nothing bad to say about this place. The staff was great. The place was cozy and clean. The food was amazing. Quick service. Made a reservation at 5:30 got there at 5:15 and was seated immediately with a booth which we preferred. Went out on a Tuesday night for my husband's birthday, so it was not crowded at all around that time. They even surprised him with a birthday dessert, which was awesome. Definitely will be back.

We had dinner here the other night outside. Service and food were great. We started with Salt and pepper Squid lightly breaded and very good. Had for dinner 2 small rolls sweet potato roll and EEL Avocado roll. And 3 of their specialty rolls Summerlicious , Zesty and The Real deal. All were very good and especially their specialty rolls. We will be back

What a disappointment, on so many fronts. We came to Takumi upon the recommendation of our friends at the Main Line Food Group and we had high expectations for the service, menu and overall experience. Unfortunately, the entire experience, from the food to the service was highly disappointing. Upon being seated, we waited 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. No one arrived so I had to ask if someone would be serving us.My wife ordered a glass of wine and the pour was less than the standard 5oz. I couldn't believe that when the bill came that the charge was $14 for such a tiny glass.When the meal came, no one brought soy sauce containers and after waiting almost 10 minutes for our waiter, I got up and had to request containers from another waitress. Both my sushi and my wife's sushi was prepared incorrectly. No one came to check on how our meal was and we had to request the check from another waiter as our waiter disappeared sometime during our meal. The worst part? The owner/manager promised to make the situation right by inviting us back. Despite 5 follow-up attempts, he has yet to respond and has made no effort to rectify what was a horrible dining experience. Do yourself a favor - save your time and money and enjoy one of the many other Main Line sushi spots instead.

Takumi surprised us with their impressive services and the freshness of their food especially the sashimi and sushi. Overall Takumi is a solid 4.5 from the food to ambiance but the consistency needs a bit of work. Their spicy creamy tum yum seafood soup was a good spicy level on one night and wasn't during a lunch service. We enjoy spicy food and hope it will be consistent with each visit. It's great this restaurant makes their food without any or much MSG.

Once again, I am back! This time, I brought my two cousins to indulge in my favorite happy hour hotspot. The star of the night were the Salmon Dream and Crispy Spicy. A visual masterpiece. A delight for the bite. One feedback to the restaurant though, every time I'm here, I feel like I always ask the waitress what a Salmon Dream and Crispy Spicy consists of. A description of these items on the menu was be helpful! Nevertheless, they loved the experience, and I continue restaurant knowledge respectability.

**IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES PLS READ** Went here with my friend who has severe food allergies. He told the waitress about his allergies, explicitly, and she assured him that his order was safe for him to eat - she even repeated back his allergens before putting his order in. After severing the order and letting him eat it, she comes over to inform him the item "might" have one of his allergens. Panicked, he asked to see the ingredients. When she came back with the ingredients not only did the order item have that allergen, but it also contained another one of his allergens- one that is more severe. We had to leave promptly as he began suffering from an allergic reaction. Thank god he had his epi pen. Make sure to see the ingredients for yourself.
