"really fun place for drinks and billiards (duh). we didn't play but there were tons of tables. some cool cocktail selections along with nice beer selections. great music playing, fantastic waitstaff. can't wait to come back and play pool!"
"After a long journey on Amtrak from Boston, I arrived in Philadelphia completely famished. Fortunately, Con Murphy's was near the hotel I was staying at, so I decided to drop in.Upon entering, I noticed the restaurant was completely packed. Nevertheless, I was promptly seated. Based on the recommendation of the server, I went with the Shepherd's Pie. Despite the restaurant being completely full, my food came out within a very reasonable amount of time. Surprisingly, the Shepherd's Pie was actually made of lamb, not beef, like some other restaurants I've been to. Overall, the pie was seasoned very well, and the salty gravy complemented the mashed potatoes perfectly. For dessert, everything on the menu looked good. My server recommended the bread pudding, which according to the menu, was served with whiskey infused sauce. Nevertheless, I barely tasted the whiskey. My dinner was pretty good, but the disappointing dessert at the end keeps this experience at 4 stars."

The food is not anything I'd personally order -mac and cheese and burger fare. This place can get wild when a game is on. The quizzo had left something to be desired - I am pretty much on the historical / science trivia quizzo gal, and this was mainly pop culture and music. They allow teams of 20 people here, so there's no real point in playing. Sigh"
"Great place for lunch for burgers, sandwiches, and even fries. Big portions for good prices. Loved how they gave me the pork juice with my sandwich."
"I just got take out but when I walked in it definitely felt like a fun bar where everyone talks to each other. I made the blackened chicken salad a wrap and it was really good! It was smaller than I expected but it was a great size for me. It was also WAY healthier than expected which was also great."
"We decided to take stroll in Chinatown and find something to eat. We had no luck either restaurants didn't look appetizing or they didn't let us order when we walked in. We ended up ordering Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse via Uber Eats. We ordered BBQ Wings, Mozzarella Sticks, and a Chicken Quesadilla. The wings were ok. I wish they were fried hard and then tossed in bbq sauce. The mozzarella sticks were oddly huge and there was way too much cheese. Plus the itty bitty marinara sauce they gave us was laughable . I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken quesadilla. It was awesome. The sautéed chicken, caramelized onions, and three cheese blend sent my palate to places I'd never think bar food could. The quesadilla was massive and stuffed to the brim. For bar food this place is expensive."
"Don't forget to check in on Yelp to get 10 percent discount. My husband and I came here to watch Liverpool game. There are many TVs so everyone can enjoy watching the game.Paul the bartender is very good and attentive. Drinks came out right away.My husband had Bloody Mary but it was not good because it was a bit frozen.Fried pickles: good portion size, enough for sharing with 3-4 people. The batter was light and crunchy, similar to funnel cake. The pickle itself was paper-thin and small, probably almost the same size as a quarter. The batter stayed in tact, perfect for dipping. Highly recommend.Buffalo chicken salad: a lot of strips of breaded chicken breast. The breading didn't fall apart and soaked the flavor of the buffalo sauce. The buffalo sauce had perfect balance of acidity and heat. I really enjoyed it.Sliders: cute presentation with a slice of pickleAnd tomato on top. The meat wasn't dry. It comes with fries."
"Love the servers and the drinks. Love this spot because it's an older crowd and it's safe. Food is good. Always a party."
"This was my first regular visit to Top Tomato at the corner of 11th and Sansom, right across from the Jefferson medical center. Last time was for a special Yelp event upstairs. I sat at a quad high top in the bar. It wasn't too busy for a midweek lunch - a few peeps at the bar and only a few tables occupied by hospital staff on break. I thought about trying their Jersey Tomato Pie, but ultimately went with the Eggplant Parm Sandwich. Solid choice. It was a big torpedo roll loaded with thin sliced nightshade, that appeared to be pan fried before filling the bread handle, ladled with good red sauce and covered with melted mozzarella. It was very enjoyable. In fact, the roll was exceptional. Crunchy and pleasantly chewy. It reminded me of a similarly rolled sandwich I had previously eaten, but I couldn't place where. I asked my superlative bartender/server, Tabitha about its source, so she went back to the kitchen to inquire. It was from Ba Le Bakery, the Vietnamese ovens on Washington Avenue in South Philly. Of course! I have had several Banh Mi sammies there and nearby pho joints. They were always memorable. French style with thinner crust than Italian, but still crisp shell and airy middles. Worked just great as the edible container for the eggplant, sauce and cheese. Score a big 5 Stars for Top Tomato, who took the chance to change up the expected bakery choices with an even better cultural diversion. Very cool!"
"$5 cash-only cover with ATM inside the door. Good music but incredibly crowded. What's the point of having good music if you can't move at all once you're inside?"

So I've been hanging around this place for over a decade. I know a bunch of people that work here and one of my besties has worked here for years. I've probably been here more times than any other bar in the city. So why am I just now writing a review? Because in my opinion the reopening has pushed it to a 5 star bar. Before COVID I was a bar rat here simply because I knew everyone. The crowd was unsavory but the chaos out front every night was appealing. There was always a fight outside or someone that needed to be put out the door. A lot of arrogant white dudes with caps on forward when they came in and backwards when they were leaving. It was an old city sports bar. The food was great the service was ok and I probably couldn't have done more than 3 stars. So I just couldn't review it. I didn't want to write a review that would hurt stop my friends from making money. Now let's talk the reopening. The playlist is solid. It's not a bunch of white bros on a Saturday night. The staff is the best team I've seen there in years. Super attentive even though they were clearly outnumbered. Just awesome to chat with. Everyone was super friendly. The crowd took a drastic change for the better. You're average douchebag fratty sports fan has been replaced by what appears to be art students and fashion experts. It's the first time I've ever felt under dressed in there. To top it all off people apologize when they bump into you! Kindness has taken over! I think it's a younger crowd than it used to be. However I'm also older than I used to be. So that tidbit may just be a personal perspective thing. The food is now outsourced. It's not a full bar menu anymore. You get pizza or wings and the servers walk down the street and get it. This description might not sound appealing but seriously it works. Last night for example the bar is packed and we got two pizzas. One pepperoni(which has a tinge of a sweet heat sauce) and one regular, 20 minutes we had it. It was still too hot for me. I burned the roof of my mouth. The pepperoni was really awesome too. The wait list for the pool table still takes a while because you've got the "pros" that show up. Like the guy last night that had to have had the table for hours. He put on pool gloves and brought his own stick. He tried so hard to impress the chick he was playing with. At the end of the night she disappeared he was walking around the bar looking for her. Anyway, even if you've been here before try it again. Also you aren't getting in without a Vaxx card or a photo of it. So don't be an asshole and argue with the door guy. Don't be a jerk off and photoshop your shit. Stay home. The rest of us just started to feel comfortable going out again. Don't ruin this for us America.

We were staying at the Windsor so it was super convenient. We ate here multiple times because well it was good! Brunch I had a chorizo potato frittata--- wow it was great!! Lunch one day had the grouper sandwich --also delicious I don't think you can go wrong with anything Service was good depending on busyness which is understandable. We were in no rush so it was fine

Came for some quick food and left satisfied. Service was great, we just had a slight misunderstanding but it was sorted out quickly. The kitchen pushed out food quickly for all ten of us and I ordered the smashburger which was really good. The smashburger's meat is substantial and all of the ingredients were present and neatly stacked and bundled so well that nothing slid out, each bite had each ingredient in it. I also wasn't expecting the fries to be so crunchy and satisfying too.For a quick bite, it was worth coming here!

Nitty's is a great spot with good people and good vibes! It was described to me as your mom's at-home cooking, and I'd say it lived up to the hype.We ordered the eggplant caprese grilled, instead of fried. It was phenomenal. SO flavorful and a generous portion. We split the white pizza with grilled chicken for our entree and it was huge. We took plenty of leftovers home! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked extremely good, so it truly does feel like a place where you can't go wrong no matter what you order. The bartender was also great! He was quick and helpful with the menu - just a good guy. If you're in south Philly, check our Nitty's!

Ok, where do I begin. I have eaten here many times...in the restaurant/bar area and outside and have gotten A LOT of take out. I think this is one of my favorite places to eat outside in the spring/summer/fall. Why? Because it's not on a busy street and the food is just good. And there is parking! There is no traffic you just sit outside and enjoy the amazing food. They have a covered tent if it's not the best weather and a huge patio. And the crowd is mostly local and low key.The menu isn't super extensive but they do good food. Service is always on par - whether you are a in big crowd or with small kids or just by yourself. So what have I had:- Hilltown Flatbread - when you get it - it doesn't seem like a lot but it is so yummy. The short rib and cheese on there in addition to the aioli -so good.-Fish Tacos - Yes - they are very meaty and so delicious. and normally I'm sorta iffy about the pickled cabbage but its a must here.-Chicken Fingers - absolute YES. They are fresh and juicy and not out of a freezer bag. When you have these - you never want any other chicken fingers from any other restaurant. and the kids menu has the same chicken fingers - just less of them (if you have kids).-Wings- not fatty, crispy and just how you want wings - meaty.-Hilltown Burger - I almost ALWAYS have someone order this when I go there if I don't order it myself. I just love it - juicy and delicious.-Crispy Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich - Again - you cannot wrong with this one. The chicken is just so so meaty and juicy. This is how you want a chicken sandwich to be. We also ALWAYS get this.-South Philly Fried Chicken Sandwich - Similar chicken to the above - just different toppings - while I prefer the above - with just the pickles/mayo/slaw - this is a runner up to that.-Black & Tan Fish & Chips- So much fish, so good, meaty and not greasy. This is great if you're craving fried fish. Also great during Lent.-Shepard's Pie - the only dish I'm not a super fan on. It's just ok. -Desserts - I've ordered the red velvet and oreo cake - once- probably won't do it again. They don't excel on their desserts like they do their food.I'm attaching pictures of our most recent take out from Hilltown Tavern - takeout really doesn't do it justice but I'd like you see the pictures.

Honestly....I'm shocked I'm rating this 5 stars. Came here with a friend to watch the Phillies, and as a cocktail bar kind of person whose not big into sports, I had such low expectations.Right away I liked that they were managing the crowd size. It was full but not overly crowded inside. We were the last ones in before they started managing the crowd, and a line quickly formed outside. There was tons of seating inside, but we got there late so stood at the bar. If we get there earlier next time we could definitely get a seat.Service was great and we were easily able to order. We both just got seltzers. The food all around us looked great too, nachos and such...and next time were back we plan on getting some!

The first time I came I had the Hideaway Fries and a friend had the chicken wings. The cooks know what they are doing. Another time I enjoyed the $1 shrimps. I'll try something different next time and will be sure to update you on my experience. Street parking. Service is good. Take cash - it's just easier.

"Ok so we spent an afternoon here while waiting for our kid to be done with his class. We sat at the bar and the service was great, our bartender was nice and very interactive with us. She took a shot with us as well, and recommended the French onion soup which was outstanding. We had been searching for great French onion soup which has eluded us. The ambiance is cool, very Irish bar vibes with TV's and music. Almost seems cookie cutter nowadays. We stayed to eat as well, and had to say the food was decent. I had the wings which were good not great but still enjoyable. We are planning on going back to do quizzo as well."
"So reliable. Long list of beers and other alcohol. Bartenders are attentive. Come for a game. Come hang with friends. Has never disappointed."
"Chill litte corner spot! Passed it while walking literally all around Philly. There is a special type of drink each day. There is a $10 speciality cocktail menu also.Place looked really clean. Very few spots to sit/eat inside but there were also outdoor seats. All drinks are placed in a plastic to go cup. I ordered a raspberry vodka drink that came with a carbomb shot. I had to take the shot inside but we could take the drinks out. (Pics attached)Bartendar was heavy handed on the pour! They also have food available. Sports bar. Mixed crowds. Across from Fat Tuesdays . This place is a definite return!"
"Been here a bunch for various reasons and it never disappointed. Watched a Sixers playoff game here, Phillies regular season game (because you know they NEVER freaking make the playoffs), and an Eagles game here. Probably one of the best environments in town to watch a game. Also been here for a night out. Got bottle service and partied til last call. Saw a couple celebrities and Philly sports athletes. Even got to see the infamous air cannon over the dance area. Good times, highly recommend!"
"We had a great experience this last time around. I had the best service, the tastiest and most tender chicken wings I have ever had. Round of applause for the cheesesteak with cooper this was my favorite of the two sandwiches. Loved sitting outside/ at the bar when it's nice outside. Pay them a visit for a sports game or just a good place to grab a drink and a solid meal"
"I was starving when I finally found a decent place to eat in Philly on a Saturday night after 10... I mean, it was so odd that all of the restaurants seem to close so early on a weekend night in a major metro city?! Pretty frustrating...Anyways, this was a sight for sore eyes. We ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls which I found were so good, until I sorta got turned off by the very last one seemingly being filled with "grissle" and almost being inedible...? But, the wrapper and the steak filling was well seasoned and I appreciated the peppery sauce that was on top.My chicken ranch wrap was honestly one of the best I've eaten. It was the perfect amount of chicken, that was well seasoned and cooked... great ratio of tomato and ranch dressing... the wrap itself was good. No complaints on the wrap, but the garlic parmesan fries were extremely salty. I liked the consistency and bite of the fries themselves but will keep that particular flavor option away.. it was just loaded with it.My sister loved her seafood dillas that came with shrimp, crab, and lobster. It seemed like all the real deal to both of us... no imitation, so that was impressive. We ordered ginger ale, which was super watered down... I guess they forgot to add enough syrup the fountain. On another note.... the bathroom was stinky and disgusting, which was really a turn off when I went to wash my hands before my food came... a note to management... But, service was friendly and efficient."
"A great sports bar for the locals, many TV screens from every angle. Shout out to Matt, our amazing and hilarious bartender. He was really on top of things. He remembered our preferences and gave us out of towners some recommendations for our visit. Much appreciated! There is also a yelp check in deal for a Washington apple shot. It was tasty! I enjoyed a few Jameson + Orange slices here. It was a great night."
"The Crazy Lep is one of my favorite local spots for sure. I love their all you can eat crab leg nights. They just have hired a new chef in recent years because while this place has been around forever I don't remember it being the culinary destination it is today. While the crab legs are the main event their apps are great too. I especially love the Buffalo shrimp and fried ravioli. Great accompaniment to copious amounts of crabs. When I can't get out or don't feel like it, the Lep delivers! I've gotten their Cajun chicken and Cajun shrimp pasta delivered and it's always hot, delicious, and enough for about three meals. In a neighborhood full of great dining destinations this is one of my favorites!"
"I went here a few weeks ago for my friends birthday. It's like a hidden gem, I've passed here many times and never noticed it because it's in a industrial area. They had a hour and a half wait for bowling due to a birthday party. We chose to eat first due to this. The burger I had was a little spicy but it was good, leave it to me to order something I have no clue what it is. This came with tots. I had the house tequila and they surely didn't hold back, it was good. My friend was accidentally sent the wrong type of taco, they let her keep it and replaced it with the correct one. You can pay on card or cash for your food and drinks. For bowling you must pay in cash, they have an atm machine inside. We did two rounds of bowling and it was fun although I came in second place. I would certainly go again."
"Solid pub fare that includes some Asian inspiration as well. Their wings were perfectly seasoned, brussel sprouts were tasty and just the right amount of crisp and you can never mess up a mac+cheese. Their ample selection of beers is a tribute to their name and the quirky bottle decor makes the place unique and fun. I would definitely come back!!"
""Italian Food Irish Bar" That's how Murph's was described by my friend and I had to check it out!Murph's is everything that you want. It has quality Italian food for inexpensive prices along with your favorite selections of beer. I was very impressed with the tagliatelle with filet. I did not expect the pasta to be so flavorful! The truffle pairs nicely with the cream and it doesn't taste too fatty. The meat is perfectly cooked too. The meatballs and fried Burrata was delicious! Their tomato sauce is nice and acidic which pairs well with the Burrata and meatball. It provides a casual vibe as well! They provide outdoor seating which is really nice as the weather warms up. Their service is good too! I need to swing back here soon! This is one of the better Italian places in Philly!"
"My experience was nothing short of amazing! The restaurants decor is so inviting, so well thought out and put together, the food was delicious. I had the mac & cheese, which was creamy and full of flavor., and I had the brisket burnt end, also full of flavor and tender!!! The hanging bacon was to die forI sat at the bar and got to speak with the owners and the bartender, and I had a such a good timeI highly recommend this place I will definitely be returned"
"The all you can eat $30 option is such a great deal! I love crawfish and it really hit the spot. They have good appetizers/ sides as well! Aesthetically, the restaurant itself is nothing special so you're really going for the food. FYI- Only street parking!"
