"After a long journey on Amtrak from Boston, I arrived in Philadelphia completely famished. Fortunately, Con Murphy's was near the hotel I was staying at, so I decided to drop in.Upon entering, I noticed the restaurant was completely packed. Nevertheless, I was promptly seated. Based on the recommendation of the server, I went with the Shepherd's Pie. Despite the restaurant being completely full, my food came out within a very reasonable amount of time. Surprisingly, the Shepherd's Pie was actually made of lamb, not beef, like some other restaurants I've been to. Overall, the pie was seasoned very well, and the salty gravy complemented the mashed potatoes perfectly.For dessert, everything on the menu looked good. My server recommended the bread pudding, which according to the menu, was served with whiskey infused sauce. Nevertheless, I barely tasted the whiskey. My dinner was pretty good, but the disappointing dessert at the end keeps this experience at 4 stars."

"I think urban saloon is a good bar, it's just not my type of bar. It's huge. The service is fast and good when it's not crazy. The food is not anything I'd personally order -mac and cheese and burger fare. This place can get wild when a game is on. The quizzo had left something to be desired - I am pretty much on the historical / science trivia quizzo gal, and this was mainly pop culture and music. They allow teams of 20 people here, so there's no real point in playing. Sigh"

We ended up ordering Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse via Uber Eats. We ordered BBQ Wings, Mozzarella Sticks, and a Chicken Quesadilla. The wings were ok. I wish they were fried hard and then tossed in bbq sauce. The mozzarella sticks were oddly huge and there was way too much cheese. Plus the itty bitty marinara sauce they gave us was laughable . I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken quesadilla. It was awesome. The sautéed chicken, caramelized onions, and three cheese blend sent my palate to places I'd never think bar food could. The quesadilla was massive and stuffed to the brim. For bar food this place is expensive."

"My boyfriend and I wanted to try this spot for brunch. When we arrived we found parking on the street nearby. We walked in and gave my name for the reservations and decided to sit at the bar. Del was our bartender and she was ok. For drinks we got the $5 mimosas and they were good. For entrées we got the chicken and waffle sandwich which was good. The DJ was bumping and they had the derby and bball game on. We had a good time."

Drinks came out right away.My husband had Bloody Mary but it was not good because it was a bit frozen.Fried pickles: good portion size, enough for sharing with 3-4 people. The batter was light and crunchy, similar to funnel cake. The pickle itself was paper-thin and small, probably almost the same size as a quarter. The batter stayed in tact, perfect for dipping. Highly recommend.Buffalo chicken salad: a lot of strips of breaded chicken breast. The breading didn't fall apart and soaked the flavor of the buffalo sauce. The buffalo sauce had perfect balance of acidity and heat. I really enjoyed it.Sliders: cute presentation with a slice of pickleAnd tomato on top. The meat wasn't dry. It comes with fries."

"This was my first regular visit to Top Tomato at the corner of 11th and Sansom, right across from the Jefferson medical center. Last time was for a special Yelp event upstairs. I sat at a quad high top in the bar. It wasn't too busy for a midweek lunch - a few peeps at the bar and only a few tables occupied by hospital staff on break. I thought about trying their Jersey Tomato Pie, but ultimately went with the Eggplant Parm Sandwich. Solid choice.It was a big torpedo roll loaded with thin sliced nightshade, that appeared to be pan fried before filling the bread handle, ladled with good red sauce and covered with melted mozzarella. It was very enjoyable. In fact, the roll was exceptional. Crunchy and pleasantly chewy. It reminded me of a similarly rolled sandwich I had previously eaten, but I couldn't place where. I asked my superlative bartender/server, Tabitha about its source, so she went back to the kitchen to inquire. It was from Ba Le Bakery, the Vietnamese ovens on Washington Avenue in South Philly. Of course! I have had several Banh Mi sammies there and nearby pho joints. They were always memorable. French style with thinner crust than Italian, but still crisp shell and airy middles. Worked just great as the edible container for the eggplant, sauce and cheese. Score a big 5 Stars for Top Tomato, who took the chance to change up the expected bakery choices with an even better cultural diversion. Very cool!"

"Another review that I've been meaning to pull up from the annals. Upon first walking into Bonnie's you won't be won over by the lavish beer and drink selection, the elaborate decor, music playing from the jukebox, or anything of that nature (which coincidentally happens to be what usually draws me into a bar for the long haul). But what Bonnie's doe have that wins you over is the fact that Bonnie's is an old school South Philly family bar with infinite charm.After walking in with Meredith, Jenna, and the rest of the book clubbers after discussing Shadow of the Wind, I had no clue what to think. But that was because we skipped over South Philly Tap Room which was packed to the gills, and by comparison it was a completely different world altogether. But so long as that world features a hilarious and cool bartender, a good unassuming spot to watch a Phillies game, and cheap Yuengling, I'm cool with being a part of it. The lipstick stains of old-lady regulars on glasses is something that I can do without on the other hand, which is why Bonnie's gets 4 out 5."

Watched a Sixers playoff game here, Phillies regular season game (because you know they NEVER freaking make the playoffs), and an Eagles game here. Probably one of the best environments in town to watch a game. Also been here for a night out. Got bottle service and partied til last call. Saw a couple celebrities and Philly sports athletes. Even got to see the infamous air cannon over the dance area. Good times, highly recommend!"

"Used to be my go to dive bar three years ago - You can smoke here, there aren't any real set prices (the bartenders just make them up and they pour generous hard liquor drinks if you are a regular), they have a juke box, pool table upstairs, dart board.Unforunately, the pandemic and times are changing this old staple - you can now no longer smoke here which they blamed on the pandemic however the bartender on Saturday informed me the establishment is seeing how "things" go with the no smoking and the updated bar. Which means to me they are panning to the new wave of customers and changing their dive bar waves (seeing if this generates more money $$$).I didn't have it in me to dock them more then 1 star but what I have learned in my life at the age of 38 is know who you are, know your values, don't force anything. To me it looks like this old time dive bar is changing and I do not like the changes being made.I will miss you Brownies. Good luck with your future business and customers, you will always have a spot in my heart.P.S You can still smoke at Paddy's pub which I immediately went to afterwards."

I mean, it was so odd that all of the restaurants seem to close so early on a weekend night in a major metro city?! Pretty frustrating...Anyways, this was a sight for sore eyes. We ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls which I found were so good, until I sorta got turned off by the very last one seemingly being filled with "grissle" and almost being inedible...? But, the wrapper and the steak filling was well seasoned and I appreciated the peppery sauce that was on top.My chicken ranch wrap was honestly one of the best I've eaten. It was the perfect amount of chicken, that was well seasoned and cooked... great ratio of tomato and ranch dressing... the wrap itself was good. No complaints on the wrap, but the garlic parmesan fries were extremely salty. I liked the consistency and bite of the fries themselves but will keep that particular flavor option away.. it was just loaded with it.My sister loved her seafood dillas that came with shrimp, crab, and lobster. It seemed like all the real deal to both of us... no imitation, so that was impressive.We ordered ginger ale, which was super watered down... I guess they forgot to add enough syrup the fountain.On another note.... the bathroom was stinky and disgusting, which was really a turn off when I went to wash my hands before my food came... a note to management... They just have hired a new chef in recent years because while this place has been around forever I don't remember it being the culinary destination it is today. While the crab legs are the main event their apps are great too. I especially love the Buffalo shrimp and fried ravioli. Great accompaniment to copious amounts of crabs. When I can't get out or don't feel like it, the Lep delivers! I've gotten their Cajun chicken and Cajun shrimp pasta delivered and it's always hot, delicious, and enough for about three meals. In a neighborhood full of great dining destinations this is one of my favorites!"

"I went here a few weeks ago for my friends birthday. It's like a hidden gem, I've passed here many times and never noticed it because it's in a industrial area. They had a hour and a half wait for bowling due to a birthday party. We chose to eat first due to this. The burger I had was a little spicy but it was good, leave it to me to order something I have no clue what it is. This came with tots. I had the house tequila and they surely didn't hold back, it was good. My friend was accidentally sent the wrong type of taco, they let her keep it and replaced it with the correct one. You can pay on card or cash for your food and drinks. For bowling you must pay in cash, they have an atm machine inside. We did two rounds of bowling and it was fun although I came in second place. I would certainly go again."

The truffle pairs nicely with the cream and it doesn't taste too fatty.The meat is perfectly cooked too. The meatballs and fried Burrata was delicious! Their tomato sauce is nice and acidic which pairs well with the Burrata and meatball. It provides a casual vibe as well! They provide outdoor seating which is really nice as the weather warms up. Their service is good too! I need to swing back here soon! This is one of the better Italian places in Philly!"

There were also 2 additional floors with game room, outdoor bar, and show space where they had drag shows which was cool, but didn't attend. The drinks were were pretty good. They had a frozen rose and pretty strong drinks. Price was higher, but worth it for the alcohol. The atmosphere was great and patrons were lively. Definitely will be going back!"

What I love about Green Room is that the most casual Saturday afternoon or Friday night can turn into the most unexpectedly fun time. I feel like every time I visit it's for a casual night with friends, but it never ends that way. This past Friday, friends and I wanted to have a very low key early Friday evening and then a few rounds of Green Tea Shots later... well you get the idea. We got to Green Room around 8 PM and it was packed because it was the nicest Friday weather-wise in a long time and that means people want to drink outside. We grabbed a table inside and ordered drinks from the bar.I'm always hesitant to get an elaborate cocktail at a neighborhood bar, but I am obsessed with the Watermelon Margarita. Yes, I did make it a double. My friends got draft beer and ciders - they have the Downeast Blackberry and they also have Guinness. There is truly something for everyone here.After about an hour we decided some food would be required. We got the Chicken Tenders and the Chesapeake Fries. The tenders are unreasonably good, such a generous portion, so many sauces. YUM! When we were deciding what to get, we thought about the Chesapeake fries and thought it might not be the right place to order something with crab... how wrong of us to judge. The fries were perfection and no one got sick.It is always a great time at Green Room! They have touchtunes, a pool table, and an ATM because it is cash only. The bathrooms are downstairs and are usually clean enough. Plenty of seating both inside and outside."
