I like the check out service, very fast and somewhat friendly, but I deducted a star because there were 2 open boxes sitting on shelf and I was told don't look inside by an employee working off their u-boat. What is it an old ancient Chinese secret why I wasn't allowed to look inside a box sitting on the shelf??? I felt bad being spoken to like that. The place stinks and I think they may even be selling expired products.

I usually go to this place to buy some fruit and sticky buns. The prices are pretty decent. I am not going to disagree with the reviews below that the place is dirty, it is. Something happened today in the market though, that was truly disgusting. A customer started coughing all over the corn and then spit in the garbage can next to the corn. That was absolutely gross and unhygienic. I am considering calling the health department on this supermarket after seeing this. I told the cashier what happened she said she would address it. I do not know how true that is. I doubt that I will return to this supermarket. Yuck!

This supermarket is dirty and the stuff are not as fresh as other supermarkets. I only go there once in awhile bc it's closer by, when I have more things to buy, I wouldn't come here. Today they refuse to sell these 3 packs of beef for me bc according to what they say, their scale was broken and that's not the correct price. I ended up paying full price for it, $11.99 per lb. I just don't think it's fair bc whatever that's priced they should've honored it.

It used to be, to get Asian food or produce you had to go to South Philly. Now there's a great Asian supermarket in northeast Philly. It has a huge selection of fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, herbs and roots. The prices are great and the quality is excellent. It also has a big selection of meat and fresh fish and seafood. It's as big as any Acme or Giant, but the selection is Asian--- Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean. My last trip there I picked up Yucca, Pummelo, Chinese Okra, Chayote, Jicama, Turmeric and Papaya. In previous visits we've picked up different kinds of Asian melon and squash, like Winter melon, and fish sauce. And their price for Sriracha sauce is the best. And they often sell fruits and vegetables in season by the box or case. Like when I was there yesterday, they had boxes of persimmons.

This Asian grocery, butcher, fishmonger, green grocer has been open right off Roosevelt Blvd @ St. Vincent Street for several years, having purchased the former 1st NE International Market in 2015. It is very similar to the supermarket at 6th and Washington in South Philly. It has just about everything you need for the complete Chinese kitchen, including pigs feet to fat green frogs, and dozens of vinegars and soy sauces for any dish imaginable. True, the odor of fish on ice and tanks full of lobster and talapia can be pungent, but that is part of the experience and brings me back to the street markets all across Southeast Asia. If you need it, they likely have it. If they don't have it, think twice whether it is really necessary. Even found those Japanese versions of KitKat Bars in strawberry and green tea flavors!

This is a great addition to northeast Philadelphia instead of venturing to Chinatown to get Asian food. I love the variety from meat to veggies. They have fresh seafood and fruits. As for the stress of finding parking, there is a parking lot so don't fret! The only drawback would be that items are sometimes priced a lot higher than if you were to venture to the city. Overall, a great option to do food shopping.

Been going to this grocery store for years. Prices vary quite a bit but it is on the cheaper side. ( I had an argument with the lady at the register cause she double scanned a pork dumpling bag assuming chicken bag was same price. She got really frustrated with me and told me SAME PRICE!! Then she scanned the chicken one and it was $2 cheaper. No apology nothing! I can't even imagine how many people she rung up like that) Place is really dirty and meat not good quality just barely ok. People working there especially at register are extremely rude and don't even say a word to you and if they are talking to you it's insulting you or frustrated complaining. My experience last night was the former, and she didn't even bother pushing the groceries down for me to reach I had to reach into and behind her glass shield to collect my groceries. I found it extremely shunning and disrespectful. She just dropped the receipt too and I had to go fetch it. The difference between hmart and this grocery does is a complete 180. I'm about to abandon this grocery store. I don't need you to be nice to me but be polite that's all I ask. I'm also not asking for 4 star service either. Just respect and politeness.

It's about food. The produce is excellent and inexpensive. The seafood is the best in North East Philly. You can get stuff there that you can't get in other places like nattō, kelp, and a bamboo matt for rolling sushi.

Love this supermarket because it's not far from home. It's freezing inside during the winter months. I guess they don't want to pay the electric bill. It's also next to impossible to find parking unless you're the first one there first thing in the morning. Anyhow, the first time that I went inside, I had a hard time finding things because the items weren't translatable and the isles are so small only one person with a cart can get through. I can't complain though because I was able to find most of what I was looking for so I'm happy! :0)

Always buying fish from this supermarket and the service at the fish department is terrible. Not helpful , disrespectful and ignorant. The guy did not cut my fish the way I ask him to cut it ,he took caviar out of my fish and the to sell it for cash , I didn't have cash with me , so I ask him to put the price so I'll be able to pay at the register he was regretting that I ask for the manager and he start screaming and saying bad words . I hope the store will hire someone more nice and respectful.
