"I visited Munchie's Cafe with a few co-workers to get some lunch. Munchie's is nothing out of the ordinary, but is a lunch spot where you order at a counter. They have dozens of options at Munchie's that are available for order - they are listed on the overhead menus. Once you order, you get a slip and pay at the front. Towards the front they have a number of cookies and candies at the checkout and a TV, too. When checking out, it took a little while to get my food, but after a little bit of a wait, it came out.I got the portobello mushroom panini, which was a pressed sandwich of portobello mushrooms mozzarella and pesto. There is not a ton of seating inside Munchie's. Therefore, we ate the sandwiches in Independence Square Park and the sandwich was nicely wrapped and still warm by then.Altogether, Munchie's Cafe is nothing spectacular, but it is a decent lunch spot in Philadelphia."

"I somehow accidentally placed this review under the University City location. We dined at the Wayne location.We had intended to have brunch at White Dog Cafe Sunday 9.17.23 to celebrate a special occasion after visiting Chanticleer Gardens. I was concerned about that choice reading some of these reviews. However, we had a fantastic brunch. Service was well paced and attentive via our server Caroline. Ambiance was cozy. "This place solidified that I need to move here.First, let me tell you about the truffle fries. They do NOT disappoint. Even when I go during happy hour, I always ask for the full basket because I put those puppies down in minutes.Drinks are amazing. Wide selection and they always have specials.It's a little more on the expensive side, however, the food and the servers make it worth it, ESPECIALLY if you get to sit out on the patio during the summer. "What an awesome dinner. Southwark had been on the list for a while and we were finally able to go. Perfect night to dig out back in the courtyard. Cocktails are great and clever. Wine list is small but solid and appropriate for the menu. The beef tartare toast appetizer was great, but the grated horseradish was a little too overpowering to appreciate the tartare. The duck was PERFECT. I say that rarely and it was perfect. Enough fat to want to eat the crisp. Little enough that fat wasn't your entire bite. Perfectly cooked. The chive mezze rigatoni was in a fantastic yet simple sauce, you'd want to drink it. The double cheeseburger was solid but the fries really stole the show. Ended the night with the corn soufflé cake which is both the weirdest and most delicious combination of flavors. So impressed with the meal. Can't wait to come back."

"Volver is a José Garcia restaurant located in the Sidney Kimmel Center. It's a really cool restaurant/bar for before and after performances. In fact, they have food specials for shows that go on. The bar is a cool half circle space with a robust menu. We ended up with a Cab sav and Pinot Grigio which were pretty tasty. The service was quick and the bartender didn't kick us out even though we stayed past closing."

The meal itself was tasty and but they were limited on what was available. Obviously they get busy during brunch and they just run out of things. That's ok. The cocktails were.... Too darn good. But then again, for the folks who decided to drink a pitcher of mimosas... May the odds be in your favor! Elise, their social media content creator, was adorable! She really created a nice vibe for those who wanted pictures or videos of the day. It suits their dynamic of group fun. All in all, we had a blast. I can see why this is a local dining staple. "It's a rainy Saturday morning game day of US vs Netherlands. This place was already crowded with soccer fans. TVs were everywhere so everybody could watch the game. The potatoes were my favorite. Super crunchy but not burnt.Breakfast: I ordered breakfast burrito, which according to the menu had salsa in it. I barely tasted it. It's packed with scrambled eggs and breakfast sausage. I wished it had more salsa.Bloody Mary: my husband loves Bloody Mary. When it was served, it looked like ice tea because there was no garnish at all. However it tasted better than it looked.Our waiter spill some guiness on me a couple of times but he was very apologetic."

As a Delco native and current Philly resident I can say for sure that delicious dining is few and far between in the Interboro/Ridley area but this place takes the absolute cake. We came here last night to celebrate birthdays and the food was absolutely phenomenal. I mean some of the most complex, delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked, absolutely beautiful flavors I've had in a while. Ordered by my party: Myself - Oysters (so fresh and delicious) & octopus salad special with artichokes, capers, and black olives (see picture) that was huge and charred to absolute perfection - so tenderOthers (all had rave reviews and were HUGE portions) - Chicken parm - I was told the sauce was divine and it definitely needed a box for leftoversSpecial steak and shrimp asian-style pasta dish - I forget the name but the "appetizer" size was ordered and basically came with a whole filet of steak (perfectly cooked btw) and needed a box for leftoversPork belly special with pumpkin ravioli, apples, veggies, and cranberries (my husband now requests that I learn how to make these raviolis as he described they melted in his mouth) Soups - lobster bisque, clam chowder, & mushroom soup (apparently I need to learn to make this, too haha)Dessert - tiramisu & creme brulee cheesecake. The tiramisu was absolute perfection (I stole a bite) and not overly sweet. Creamy and divineI wish I had more characters to write about how absolutely amazing everything was. There wasn't a single dish served that was anything less than stellar. It's BYOB and the prices may seem high but don't be fooled, the portions are so so so big that you'll absolutely have leftovers and the flavors and ingredients make every penny worth spending. I was so pleasantly surprised, deeming myself a bit of a food snob, that I may actually go visit my family more often just as an excuse to come here. Final note: If you have any food allergies/aversions I would suggest asking for the ingredients. While pleasantly surprised and absolutely delighted for the complex flavors/ingredients there were some that ended up on plates that weren't listed on the menu (cranberries & capers for example). "We went for Sunday brunch around 11am. We actually called that same morning for a reservation on a very busy weekend and we were surprisingly able to get a table for 8. If you didn't know, this restaurant is attached to a really stylish boutique hotel. It doesn't have its own bathroom. Instead, you have to go to the second floor of the hotel for the restroom which is accessible via elevator or stairs. The host at Square 1682 was extremely friendly as was our waiter. Our party maybe waited 10 mins to sit. I ordered the Wings and Waffles with a side of eggs and Turkey bacon. Those wings?? So good. Crispy and moist with a nice little zing and spice but not overwhelming. You only get 4 wings, but there should be more! And those waffles. Amazing!! They have little sugar crystals inside so each bite is crispy, but soft, warm, and deliciously Sweet. I didn't need to douse it with syrup. I as able to just dip eat bite and have enough flavor and sweetness. Im not from the area but when I return for a visit, ill definitely be coming back for brunch."

I had a meet that ended in the late afternoon and came with my colleague (and friend) to grab dinner. Long story short, she felt very sick and couldn't even sit in the chair. She ended up sitting in the corner putting ice on herself with the staff bringing sugar, water, coke and more ice for us to try to get her better. She probably sat there for 45 min. So my deep appreciation to the staff for being helpful and understanding!Okay, now to the food... we got the white cheese and cherry toast, one of the raw items (it had peach in it), tomatoes as the veggie, corn with ricotta pasta, eggplant small plate and sea bass. All the food was really good! My favorite dish was the eggplant - I'm a sucker for eggplant after all - it was outstanding!Because of what happened I didn't get the dessert... but looking forward to next time!"

"I will go over the items that I ordered and eaten, then we will discuss customer service. For a soul food restaurant this comes closest to 'some' home cooking that serves soul food. What I find often and am very disturbed by is not just Visions but many soul food places do not served 'BAKED' macaroni and cheese. I was served homemade but cooked on a stove top 'mac n cheese', it was okay but not what I am looking for. You will find 'BAKED' macaroni and cheese three stores down at Coconut Breeze. But back to Visions! Their fried chicken is crispy and well seasoned, I don't particularly like the taste of salt so it was a little much for me but not for most people. Their mashed or whipped sweet potato(yams) are pretty good as well as the cabbage, string beans and meatloaf. They use to make a very good chicken cheesesteak with real chicken breast but I don't think it is on the menu. The collard greens are some of the worst I've ever eaten. People you 'cut the bitterness with a pinch of sugar' not a CUP OF SUGAR. Time and time again these greens taste like sugar greens not collard greens.Now lets discuss service. Yikes it is the worst!!! It doesn't matter if you call in your order or place it in person, go get a pedicure and come back. THEY ARE SLOW!!!! How are you that slow when ALL of the sides are precooked and so are most of the meat and poultry products. Oh you better not say anything you are met with a blank stare and a 'well we are busy'. Guess what 'SO AM I'. Too busy to try this again."

"Tried out their dumpling sampler. 6 for $12 seems a little pricey as you'd expect to be somewhat full. There was no way to find out which dumpling was which without biting into one. I couldn't differentiate a couple of the dumplings which I guessed were buffalo even though I know I ordered only 1 buffalo. Flavor wise it wasn't bad for most of them. Some of the dumplings looked more fried than others but it didn't really take away from the flavor. Nothing really bad but I don't think I'd drive out of my way again to have these."

While the food was delicious and the view was chefs kiss, it was really the service that made our meal so special. From our reservation confirmation call to the happy birthday mini cupcakes, our host Chris was so thoughtful. We took his recommendations and ordered the eggs benedict, strawberry cheesecake french toast along with the egg breakfast. We ateeeee. Lol We also ordered the mimosa carafe, which easily had 6 servings. Extra points for Chris giving us the drop on the best spots for lighting so we could take pictures. You only get three so definitely not worth the $19. You can skip those."

"I've never actually dined in here so this review is based solely on their takeout and delivery game, which is top notch! They have a great crowd pleasing menu that ranges from soups and smoothies to chicken parm and all day breakfast options. One of those great spots when you're not totally sure what you're in the mood for...you can basically let their menu kind of decide for you. I've tried their tuna / chicken salad wraps and also their Moroccan salmon salad, all of which have been excellent. Wraps come with a tasty caesar salad and are an absolute go-to. The team members I've encountered here have always been incredibly friendly. If I lived a bit closer to either location I would be here all the time, but for now I really enjoy grabbing lunch or dinner while in the neighborhood, and would absolutely recommend a stop in to anyone."

They started us off with this bread roll that was deliciously sweet and soft, then followed it up with a heaping pile of fish, pork belly, chicken, and lumpia. There were also curried veggies. I thought the chicken was a bit salty but the rest of the food was excellent, especially when paired with the sauces that were given. My favorite was the whole fish, which came off in tender flaky pieces. It definitely needed the vinegar sauce but was absolutely delicious combined with that and the fragrant garlic rice. Service was also prompt, and we got hand wipes to clean our hands before the dessert of coconut chocolate pudding. I left stuffed and the two of us had two big boxes of leftovers that we brought home too. For the $50 pp price, this can't be beat!"

"Words cannot explain how much I'd loved the food here and the ambiance and the service. Just everything! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and some well-deserved promotions at work and we couldn't have chosen a better place on a lovely Saturday brunch-filled morning. .We arrived and we're escorted to the second floor which opened up to a cozy but at the same time tall ceiling Place filled with art and random exotic plants and happy customers eating delicious food. We ordered a few appetizers which were pretty delicious, but the star of the show for me was their spend on a Nashville hot open face chicken sandwich. It was by far the most delicious chicken sandwich I'd eaten in years. The combination of a thick breaded and buttery crust holding very moist chicken was just incredible. I honestly can't even remember what my side dish was or would it taste like even with pictures because that's how focused I was on the chicken sandwich lol My drink was pretty good but I really enjoyed my wife's drink the most because it had hints of elderflower and some really bitter liquor. That was a great balance. I had their take on carrot cake for dessert which was okay.. It wasn't terrible at all, but I wish the portions were a little bigger. Overall, I cannot wait to spend another Saturday or Sunday brunch at the Love."

"I attended a private event and would highly recommend! The space is a refurbished pump house so it has an industrial vibe. The patio has a beautiful view of the waterfront and Ben Franklin bridge. The food was delicious! Some places have a event menu that isn't up to par with their regular food. Not here! The cheese board was above average with the most yummy homemade potato chips. The butlered hors d'oeuvres were excellent. They were served hot with a nice presentation. The fried cheese curds and steak with mashed potatoes were my fave! The shrimp cocktail and falafel were also yummy. The service was too notch with friendly servers. One server even brought back a plate for me when the tray was empty before I got one. Bathrooms are gender neutral with common sinks. Honestly this makes it so much easier. Street parking is available with a public lot nearby."

"Tucked into Villanova's campus, right off 476, Refectory is your place for a beautiful brunch, lunch or dinner. The ambiance is IT and very well put together. They have booths, tables, and a HUGE bar that I hear have a dope HH. What we snagged:-Mussels with Coconut Curry. (One of the best mussels dishes I've had. Mussels were huge and the sauce was flavorful)-Bronzino (Good, with the orzo. Little over cooked, but fine since the Mrs. is pregnant)-Scallops with Spoetzl (Amazing flavor, wish I had 1-2 more scallops)Overall, we'll be back. This joint is perfect for a quick brunch or even a beautiful anniversary dinner. Our waitress was stellar. She was bartending and serving at the same time!"

The veggie burger, vegetable wrap, and red pepper hummus with pita are all vegan. Yay!If you're into meat, you've got loads of options. Food spans a cross between gastro pub and dive bar (read: soups, chili, wings, steak tip sandwiches; quesadilla, nachos, and a variety of sandwiches.) Prices are reasonable and sandwiches come with fries or salad. The beer list is pretty long for a neighborhood watering hole. I snagged a pint of a great black lager, and also tried the Fiddlehead white which was nice too. There were about eight brews on draft and double that number in cans and bottles, plus ciders. Sitting under a tree trapped up in fairy lights on the outdoor patio was quite nice. Indoors is dark wood and a long bar and TV screens. Good place for sports fans or biergarten lunchers. Friendly service too. G'ahead, give it a try."

"I think urban saloon is a good bar, it's just not my type of bar. It's huge. The service is fast and good when it's not crazy. The food is not anything I'd personally order -mac and cheese and burger fare. This place can get wild when a game is on. The quizzo had left something to be desired - I am pretty much on the historical / science trivia quizzo gal, and this was mainly pop culture and music. They allow teams of 20 people here, so there's no real point in playing. Sigh"

"Finally made it to the brick and mortar after years of following on IG when they sold the rolls out of ShopRite. So because it was my first time and fam was in town we decided to do them all. The chicken and beef cheesesteak, the crab, the salmon, the general tso's chicken, the jerk chicken. We also did the sweet combo rolls. We took our rolls and a couple of bottles of wine and headed to our god mother's to surprise here with a night of rolls and wine! It was a hit! She loved the salmon rolls, filled with tons of salmon and so tasty. I loved the beef cheesesteak, general tso's and the crab rolls. One thing about these rolls is they are packed with yummyness and perfectly crispy on the outside and not at all greasy. The dessert rolls were all amazing but those funnel fries were so good! Staff was super friendly and suggested some items and you can tell they love what they do, all smiles. Meer was super sweet and blessed us with the sauces which they have plenty to choose from can't name them all but my fave was the habanero one. I'm due to get back and get me some mo!!! Rolls and wine for the win!!!"

It brings the funk without overpowering.Oatis is a 7% ABV oatmeal stout that drops chocolate bombs on you. A bit too heavy for 16oz, but I recommend 4 or 8oz pours for sure. You could treat it as a dessert beer to finish.Food standouts:1. Pierogies: made in-house and stuffed with potato & pepperjack cheese served with house kraut, caramelized onions & fennel.
