August 2022 Edit:I've been coming here every couple months for the past year and I'm really sad to see the quality and service declining with each visit. The chef selection for the Sushi Sashimi platter seems to have less thought put into it with cheaper fish. From photos you can see that the salmon is no longer torched, there is no ikura topping, and there is no longer any scallop served but rather thinner slices of white fishes. I always order a botan ebi on top of my meal and it had a stronger fishy taste during my recent visit.Service has also declined. Most recently, I was not even able to pay at the end of the meal due to some system error (not related to my credit card). I even had to help translate instructions of how to pay another time from Mandarin Chinese to English to another customer. We only returned the next morning to pay for our meal out of respect for the owners and how many times we've been here. This used to be my favorite sushi spot in the area, but now I'll really need to think if I'll be returning.

Fresh wasabi and fatty tuna? Yes please. This is without a doubt the best sushi i have had in a long time. The restaurant is tiny and tucked away just behind mainline seafood market with just a dozen or so seats mostly at the sushi bar. However what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up with its excellent selection and quality of sushi. The menu is not extensive with any entrees so if you are looking for a place that has bento boxes or tempura udon look else where, but if you are in the mood for an intimate sushi dinning experience where the fish is the star attraction look no further! We had a selection of rolls and sashimi and everything was delicious, however what impressed me even more than the seafood was the fact that they had real wasabi served with the sushi. Of all the sushi restaurants I've eaten at, this is only the 2nd time I've had real wasabi. The restaurant is byob but does close early on weekdays so just keep that in mind. A perfect 5/5. I can not say enough good things about this place.

What a treasure! Best sushi outside of NYC! I can't say enough good things about it! Cozy, no frills sushi bar, very clean and great service. A BYOB for eating in and many take out. It's for sushi eaters who know the good stuff - menu doesn't have complicated extras or Chinese foods. It's just perfect!

Very high quality sushi. Fish is coming from Samuel & Sons which is where all the top places in the city get their product.Price is fair and good mix of traditional offerings with some fancy rolls that probably attract their base demographic in the upper mainline. They own the fish market next door & seems you can eat at either location. Hoping this place stays around. Beats driving into the city to eat at Zama. Show them some love. Better than anything else in the burbs...if you're serious about sushi.

The restaurant is inside a fish market. When you enter the smell of a fishery is disconcerting and off putting. We sat down despite this bc we thought the sushi/sashimi must be super fresh bc the fish market is right there. The sushi/sashimi was passable but very low quantity compared to the price. A plate with 12 pieces of sashimi was $35 and the sushi while very good had such a small amount of rice that you couldn't feel full also for $35. Service was ok but very pedestrian. I didn't mind pouring my own water but they gave us plastic cups.

Came here around May 2023 and it was not as great as before. The fatty tuna rolls did not taste great and were very expensive.

Authentic Japanese food did not Americanize at all. If you are looking for cheaper options for Japanese sashimi and sushi, go somewhere else. Charles, the chef, spent years in NYC at one of the most prestigious Japanese restaurants as a sushi chef. You are coming not only for the quality of the sashimi/ sushi but also the knife skills he deploys to process such a delicacy.
