Tre F. "I didn't know Korean chicken was a thing. However, it's definitely it's my thing now. I was doing some work at the coffee shop across the street and noticed the place and on a whim I said, let me try it and take some home to the family. The place is fairly small, not a lot of tables, but I do believe I would like to try the food there next time. It's a 20 minute ride home, but still it was really good. The chicken is really moist and the crunchy. How do I truly explain the technique.......uhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't know but it's good. They have a few sauce options. I felt they took it over the top. My family did not need the sauce, so it's just a bonus. The order was quickly ready and the gentleman taking my order was extremely helpful. Overall, if I am in the area, this is tops on my list of options"

Percy N. "I have been coming to this home-style Korean food oasis for almost 10-12 years.True definition of a hole in the wall place - in a good way.Family run. Ethnic clientele, authentic food. Next to a Korean grocery store and dry cleaners. Excellent! They give you tons of Ban chan. There are always 5-6 different times or maybe more. I love the (what I presume are homemade) pickled greens and kimchi. The stonepot bibimbap are awesome. I would love to say I have tried everything on the menu but it is hard to steer far from the spicy pork and spicy squid when they are perfected.I usually place my order, then tell them I am going to shop at the grocery store next door and viola - my order is piping hot and ready when I return.Sure, they may not have the spicy raw crab (you may have to go to NE Philly for that) but with the new Korean fried chicken place next to Pho Nam Thai you can kill 2 cravings in one."

Bryant S. "I visited here with a couple of friends at Philly. Although the location is little bit away from the main H-mart area, you can easily find the location as it follows along the K-town in Cheltenham street. As you enter through the restaurant, you may get an impression that place is small, but that is not the case as there are plenty of seating areas as well as there is one more floor downstair.I've been to quite a few Korean restaurants around this area, and this place is one of the best yet as it has three components that all deserve 5 stars: (1) many variety of foods, (2) a great service, and (3) great foods. You can find almost any traditional Korea food that you can wish for, including a peculiar one like pufferfish pancake. Or, you can find any typical Korean food like soon doo bu (spicy Korean soup with soft tofu and other ingredients) and bibimbap (Korean style mixed rice with vegetables). But you can also get the Korean grilled BBQ like the one I dined in called Chicken Kalbi, which is essentially a Korean BBQ but made out of chicken with spicy paste sauce. Chicken Kalbi was just spicy enough, and it is a beauty to see it getting stirred with rice cake, yum, and other veggies. Topping that on the top of your rice and gulping down that through your mouth, you can taste the delicious chicken that happily flies inside your stomach. The service was excellent as well. Korean cuisines are famous for multiple side dishes accompanying a single order. And this place was no exception. About 8 different side dishes came together with our order of Chicken Kalbi, and the server gave another few foods to try out.I will definitely visit this place again, you should, too. Be sure to checkout my other reviews as I travel around the different parts of United States's cities to review the restaurants, cafes, etc. Thank you for reading."

The dining area was large and the sunny hostess sat us right away. (Ordered lots of dishes to try - our waitress kindly didn't tease us for over ordering, we really wanted to bring a lot home, so it was on purpose.)Everything came super fresh, piping hot in a stone pot, w lots of control over the spice level which we really appreciated. The kimchee was tasty, my bibimbap was excellent and my daughter got great advice about what soup to choose and how to eat it traditionally from a beautiful mother at the next table. She said this place makes the best Kimchee Soon Du Bu and my daughter totally agreed. The pickled radish w jalapeño was also amazing and she told us about how easy it was to make at home, which my daughter loves to do- try to cook things at home. (This generous woman stopped at H mart down the street while we were finishing our lunch and brought her back some radish to try and prepare at home! Unforgettable.)The whole lunch experience was the perfect rainy afternoon and we were so blessed to have shared in the culture of people so proud of their delicious food who took such care of us!"

The whole place, while small, is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated with a unique personality. Love the creative inari, and the ramen was very good as well. See my photos. One of the highlights is their fruit punches that come in funny-looking plastic bags (that reminded me of IV bags). There were yuzu and pineapple punches. Yuzu was the best!"

The woman took our order and did everything - I thought she was actually cooking the food in the kitchen too (she might have been) until I saw a man come out of the kitchen after we had finished our meal and they were sharing a hard-boiled egg together. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.I took off a star just because I felt like the experience was good, but not amazing. We came on a Saturday night and for the 2.5 hours we were in the restaurant, only one other person came in to have a meal alone. There was no music playing in the restaurant and it was a little eerily quiet. Other tables that weren't occupied by customers had lots of papers on them and clearly weren't for customer seating even though they were in the middle of the restaurant. It was my birthday so we showed up with a cake and the woman was very kind to let us put the cake in their fridge until we were ready for dessert. We ordered 3 meats for Korean BBQ: pork, seafood, and beef. They were all marinated well and were tender and flavorful. We also got the kimchi pancakes, steamed dumplings, and japchae noodles. All the food was delicious!"

Mike N. "It's a very good Korean/Japanese restaurant with sushi bar. I felt the price was generally more expensive, but they're probably just reflecting where it's located. Oh yeah, I was asked if I had a reservation...server went back and came back to tell us she'll get a table ready in a minute. There was only another table occupied, so I felt a little funny. I'd recommend to make reservation if you're eating here. Also, dining-in, take out and curveside pick-up are available. Atmosphere was very good with quiet ambiance and subtle decorations. It was not too crowded when we had our dinner on Tuesday evening. I think we heard some drum beats coming through from neighboring brew house that was totally out of place, though. Service was generally good. Our glasses didn't go empty. The young server repeatedly called us "you guys." I felt it was somewhat out of place especially addressing seniors like us. Oh well, I'm getting old.Food--was very good. My katsudon had a nice flavor with a generous portion of pork cutlet. It was a good cut of meat and cooked well. Scallions could've been cut in to thinner slices. The rest of the table really enjoyed dolsot (hot stone bowl) bibimbap. They said individual ingredient was flavored well and put together very well. You can control the heat with the amount of gochujang sauce you put on. There was another sauce without any heat for those who don't want any spiciness. It was altogether very enjoyable dining experience, and everyone was happy we came here."

The servers kept helping us change out the grills and bringing more and varied meats. There was something for the whole family here, from toddler to adult. Last time I had the salmon bibimbop, which was pretty tasty, and I'm picky about bibimbop. I think I might have liked my soba noodle salad with tofu and spicy dressing this time even more though. The salad is super filling so either order when you're really hungry or if you like having leftovers. My partner can confirm that the yakisoba noodles with tofu are also very good, but the curry yudon tofu is GREAT. I have to admit I was a bit envious when he got that the last time we ordered. I was thinking of getting it this time but decided to go for something lighter. Now he's declared loyalty to curry yudon tofu for all future visits so I've lost my chance. Guess I'll just have to try japchae noodles instead next time..."

Anna S. "What a hidden gem! This is my all time favorite Korean restaurant. The name DuBu actually translate to "tofu" so this place specializes in tofu dishes. I'm a sucker for tofu so I got so excited when I saw all these options that included tofu. Usually at Korean restaurants I either go for the spicy squid, tofu soup, or the galbi ribs. I can't believe they have the spicy squid with tofu option. That's like two of my favorite protein in one dish, of course I cannot resist! We ended up ordering the spicy squid tofu and my partner got the spicy pork kimchi tofu. I like how the sauces are different in both of the dishes. They lean towards of a sweet and savory type of sauce combo. I definitely like the squid one better. It is also not spicy which is good because we're not the best with hot spicy. Okay let's talk about the bonchon. They are unbelievably generous with the complimentary side dishes they serve. They came out with marinated short ribs, fried fish, broccoli, side salad, and kimchi! You can also ask for unlimited refills on any of the dishes and the staffs are so friendly and nonjudgmental. Although items like the salad and broccoli are kind of a strange Korean bonchon, we still enjoyed those vegetables. The short ribs were so good my partner couldn't stop talking about it. The entree portion sizes are huge! You can easily share one of those entree with two people. We ended up taking half of it to go which was the perfect amount for another meal. Some of the bonchon we didn't finish so we also packed that to go as well.Side note on the water they serve - it's infused with barley tea. That's why is has an ashy taste! (Barley tea is healthy for you and good for digestion) This place is located right next to the HMart so if you're ever shopping for your Asian grocery, this is a place you can't miss! I ordered the bibimbap which came out in an iron skillet bowl that was crackling and steaming fresh from the stove which was super impressive The food was pretty tasty and the portions at first felt small, but the density made up for it. We ordered Set B, which serves 3-4 people, and added on an extra order of egg souffle and some seafood pancakes. The banchan were unlimited, and the staff refilled them upon request. The meats were fresh, high-quality, well-marinated, tender, and not overly salty. All of the food was so good. It was a lot of food, and we were so satisfyingly stuffed. If everyone is extremely hungry, then Set B is good for 3-4 people. Otherwise, Set B with some add-ons is a good amount for 4-5 people. Despite it being super busy and short-staffed, the staff did a great job. The service was a little slow, but they were really great about consistently changing out the grills. They also helped with grilling and cutting the meat.So Korean Grill is located in the same plaza as H Mart and is super convenient for getting groceries and a meal in one visit. For 3 people we ordered the following for takeout, which was enough for us:* large half & half (20 wings, honey garlic & hot king) - I loveeee crispy fried chicken rather than wings that have a super wet and messy sauce.
