Joy H. "As the other Yelpers have mentioned, the sweets here are a bit of a splurge. But to me, they're worth it.Personally, I'm addicted to their slammers with lime Italian ice. I'm also a huge fan of their popular gelato custard with vanilla ice cream and mango Italian ice. On a hot day, there's nothing more satisfying than having a smooth, silky, and refreshing vanilla custard ice cream along with the sweet and tangy mango Italian ice. Service here is pretty quick. Even when there's a line, they don't take too long to serve each customer. And since it's a take-out only spot, don't expect to get a seat inside their shop since there isn't one. Fairmount is a beautiful neighborhood with lots of scenic areas to enjoy your icy treats though."

I was THRILLED! Made my first batch of cold brew with it and it was awesome !!! Thanks for having it available there ,"

Morris B. "I've been wanting to try banana mousse forever, but everytime I drive by there's a long line outside and I finally found out why! The menu was limited but the options were interesting ranging from peanut butter flavors , cinnamon toast crunch to cookies and cream. They sell to-go pints and sundaes, but the owner suggested I get the milkshakes since I was traveling a bit to get them home. She was really sweet, too! I ordered the cinnamon toast crunch milkshake as well as a chocolate milkshake. I'm not the biggest chocolate ice cream person (don't judge me) but theirs was pretty rich! I also did enjoy my cinnamon toast milkshake having actual cereal at the bottom. I might start randomly putting cereal in my icecream to entertain my inner child. The $10 price point was a bit "wow" but overall I'll def be supportive!"

It's never overcoooked or undercooked and they usually get your pizza out to you in lightning speed. Their cheesesteaks are also pretty good, not to mention super cheap for what you get! I don't think I've ever been disappointed in anything I've ordered here, and let me tell you I order things from here a lot. 5/5 great pizza, truly one of my favorites of all time!"

Brigit B. "I was in Malvern right? The Main Line? I bought ice cream for 5 of us and my bill came to $18. That alone is worth a five star review! We came on a Sunday night, the temperature was legitimately 7 degrees. Wind chill of -3, what made the most sense? An ice cream trip of course! There was a friendly teenager working along with the owner. Both were great. Not just "oh let's talk weather" just a genuine man getting to know his customers. I loved his energy, the kind of owner who I wish nothing but success! Take my money! Now onto the actual product. I had the chocolate peanut butter banana. UMMM, wow. I had the kids cup and it was a generous portion but I could have easily eaten more! Soft, creamy and full of deliciousness, this stuff was GREAT. A creature of habit I don't think i can stray from that flavor on my next visit, it's too good to abandon so if you're reading this...you know what to do!If this place wasn't already of 5 star caliber I'd say that their "free toppings" would be the closer. I don't think I've ever been to an ice cream joint that 1. had free toppings and 2. It was self serve!Scoops and Smiles, thank you for existing, stay forever please!"

Ice cream is very tasty, food they serve is very typical for a Mexican ice shop. The paletas (ice pop) variety is large and the place is very clean. They need to improve on speed. Located inside the Reading Terminal Market, Bassett is family owned and has been in business at this spot for 4 generations, since 1892. There are several options to enjoy, cones, cup, shakes and pints to take home. The staff was helpful with suggestions but I made my own creation. A vanilla shake with chocolate swirls inside and caramel drizzle on top. That was some real tasty goodness. The line moved fairly quick and the atmosphere was great."

Eric and Maurice I have met, along with a taller male Black employee (perhaps older than Maurice), and they are all very earnest and eager to make sure that I liked my ice cream. Very polite too. Seeing this across multiple employees helped me to see that their boss/owner knows how to hire the right people. It reminds me of Steve Jobs' quote about hiring "grade-A" people. Because if you hire grade-B people, they will soon make grade-C decisions, with grade-D consequences, and eventually your business will be a grade F. They work very hard when no one is looking over the shoulder. That is not common these days in the service industry. Congratulations!"

Steven B. "And the battle rages on every summer in Havertown. Pop's is on Eagle road and fifty yards down the street is the local Rita's. When the weather is good they are both mobbed. Among Havertownians it's almost as bad as the Pats and Gino's cheesesteak war! Rita's has the big marketing budget on their side. Pop's relies on word of mouth.I live within walking distance of both and have visited both many times. In my opinion, in a blind taste test, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Gerald S. "Another great small batch artisanal ice cream shop in Philadelphia, this one on West Girard Avenue in the Brewerytown neighborhood. First exposure was via the current Yelp Event granting a free scoop of their available ice cream flavors as an introduction to their amazing panoply of choices. I kvelled for the dual scoop of Strawberry and Carrot Cake creamies, finding the pink berry to be subtle, soothing and delicious, and the matrix of real carrot cake in vanilla bean to be engaging and delightful, although perhaps not as good as they would be eaten separately when the cream cheese icing would dominate. Nonetheless, the visit was rewarding with Mars providing the scooperonis with strong wrist and quick humor. I knew my family would be disappointed if I didn't think of them while in the store and bring at least one sample home. I found a pint of their private label Butter Pecan in the undersized retail freezer, and grabbed it knowing I would be welcomed home a hero for snaring her favorite flave. That was an underestimate of the response received. I couldn't tell which she loved more - the butter pecan dreamcream which was just exceptional, or me! She sure made a bigger fuss about the chill smooth dance party in her mouth, but I can't complain about how she expressed her gratitude to me later on. A win win win all around!"

They were also playing music which put us in such a good mood. We were able to sample a few ice cream flavors, one being the Oreo which was also tasty, before deciding on the Ferrero which they explained was their chocolate ice cream. The flavors in the Ferrero were absolutely delicious, the chocolate flavor was rich and it was very creamy. The outside sign displays that their ice cream is 100% home made and it definitely tasted like it. All of the ice cream flavors were labeled in Spanish so we had to ask what each flavor was before trying it but I would definitely return to La Guerrerense again for sure."
