Hidalgo Restaurant

I mean I guess shame on me for not reading the description of nachos on the menu but never realized it would just be beans and cheese with chorizo but possibly the worst excuse for nachos I've ever ordered.

We just love it at Hildago. The owner is terrific and everything is made fresh and with love. Don't miss their seafood dishes (anything with fish or shrimp is always good here!). The guacamole is so good, too.If you are lucky, the owner will sing (opera) for you!

Went on a Thursday night with my mom and wife, the owner greeted and seated us. She was a delightful woman and walked us through the menu. We had delicious ceviche, pico and queso to start which were all outstanding. For our mains I had the puntas xochimilco which was wonderful beef tips in stew, great with tortillas! My wife and mother had the chicken enchiladas which both very much enjoyed. For desert we had the tres leches which the owner told us she made every day fresh. We have been looking for our go-to Mexican place and we believe we found it at hildago.

Stopped here on a quick walk waiting for an appointment. The food was great. Better than expected. The guacamole was sooo perfect! And great size serving. The steak on my tacos was tender. Owner was very friendly giving the place an even better ambiance and service was just perfect! I felt like I stopped by my aunts house for lunch.

We came here for Dining Under the Stars. They only had two staff waiting tables, so they were quite behind. The ceviche was the best appetizer that we got . The queso with chorizo was very chewy and not like a dip. You had to use a knife to get it to be bite size. The owner was impressive in that she gave three live singing performances in Spanish. The margarita mix is virgin, so you can bring your own tequila. It is served in a very generous size mug!

If you want legit, authentic Mexican cuisine - this is it! Every meal we've had there was fantastic. Fresh, full of flavor, and the top notch service and atmosphere make it the best spot in Media for Mexican cuisine. If you drink, bring your own tequila or mezcal for a fantastic margarita, and if you're lucky they might sing to you! Not that typical chain restaurant "happy birthday" stuff, some beautiful operatic authentic Mexican songs. So make some plans to dine at Hildago and enjoy!

The food was delicious! The service was wonderful and the singing was a pleasant surprise. We brought our own tequila and the margaritas really are brought back in a giant mug. I wasn't really ready to drink over four shots in one sitting but when we got our tequila bottle back it was half gone and the 2 of us only had 1 drink each. I just wished she had asked if we wanted all that.

Authentic Mexican food and great service!and you just might get serenaded!!!Highly recommended

Dinner took 2.5 hours to receive guacamole and two main courses. Being from Houston, Texas, this was among the worst Mexican food we have ever had.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The food is incredible and so flavorful, the margs are divine (BYOT!), and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. This family-run restaurant is a gem of Media. Also if you're lucky you might be serenaded by the beautiful voice of Soledad. She was a terrific host. I can't wait to return.
