"Very nicely stocked little grocery store inside the Philadelphian building on the Fairmount Ave side. They actually do have a pretty good selection despite the smaller size. Produce is decent price and fresh. Prices are a little higher throughout but that's fine as it's a convenient spot for the neighborhood. And also support a great family owned and friendly shop with great staff. Great assortment of pretty much anything you'd need even lots of ingredients (spices, canned things, etc) to take home for cooking. Also has a deli counter. Thanks"
"Omg I LOVE this little gem. I'm a huge fan of Korean fan and to find a place that sells kimbab is a huge win. The snack varieties are off the charts too. I will be back next weekend, and make it here every chance I get. Great customer service and the food is really good! I got kimbab, and some sweets."
"This place is very home-y. Love the prices, the way the produce and products are organized properly. The food selection is always fresh with safe for multicultural options as well. I am not sure what these other reviews are saying about service of the employees because I was always greeted with smiles and people always were willing to help. I will come back to shop at supremo for all my grocery needs :)"
"Heaven! Best cheesesteak in Philly! Tried all the hype but Sorrentinos is the real deal. And real Philly soft pretzels! I'm planning on proposing to the lovely lady who made my sandwich! So good."
"This was the only place that carried the defense vitamin water flavor for quite sometime. Curses R for getting me addicted to it! They have a really wide selection of both nonalcoholic and alcoholic. They have the curiosity sodas and they have my fave dirt cheap asti spumante. Verde, is a perfect spumante for mimosas. If you can find it in delaware or a BJ's in NJ its under 15 for the huge bottle and 10 for the smaller. It's worth it if you are making champagne cocktails. It's priced higher at spruce, but it's nice to know I can go buy it there in a pinch. They also have quite a variety of everything in their aisles. My other have thing is the small package of ground beef. It's perfect if you just want a hamburger or to make tacos."
"We love stopping into this store. Everyone is super friendly and you always get that small town feel here. Just had some chicken tenders and a turkey and cheese hoagie. Yum!!!4/30/2017. Update. Had them cater a few major items for my party. Food was great and everyone loved it."
"Stopped by with my dog to order an Italian hoagie a few months back and was stopped by the lady at the cashier's counter. Silly me didn't realize dogs were not allowed inside. Even though we couldn't go inside, the lady at the counter offered to take my order at the door. While we waited for my hoagie order to be made, my dog and I went for a short walk. We came back 15 minutes to pick up my hoagie. As we waited by the front door, the same lady asked if I would like some dog treats for my dog, which I thought was super sweet! She gave me a couple of dog treats and my dog gobbled them up immediately. After we got back home, I unwrapped my hoagie to eat it. The bread was not thick (like Primo Hoagies). The hoagie was stuffed sufficiently and not to the point where the sides would burst. It was the perfect size and with each bite, I got a bit of everything. I could taste the freshness of the cucumbers between the cold cuts. I was gonna just eat half a hoagie, but I couldn't help myself and ate the whole thing. Can't believe I've been sleeping on 3J's all these years. I'm definitely adding 3J's to my rotation of weekday lunches."
"I think this Yelp page is outdated bc this spot is now H & B New York Style Deli. Wanted to leave a review in case people find this looking for info about the new one. It's a mostly Peruvian menu and the food is incredible (and super affordable). I went in this morning expecting a standard corner deli and was delightfully surprised to walk out with a delicious order of arroz a la cubana. The space is clean and the people are nice. I'm excited to have this place in the neighborhood and hope they do well!"
"I stopped in this market more for just the food. No matter what time my day it is, The mood is always peaceful and welcoming here. There's always a nice line for the buffet and understandably because it's one of the few places that really makes home style, Middle Eastern food and you can do some grocery shopping. Today I ordered lamb with rice and mixed vegetables. I hadn't been by here in a while but everything is just as good as I remember. I can't say enough how awesome it is to come here and get food and to have conversation with fellow patrons and staff. It's definitely a treasure to have a 24 -hour market like this in the neighborhood."
"Best homemade chicken salad. If you go early, you have to ask if it is made yet, and once it is gone, they don't make another batch until the next day. You can get it on a sandwich or a hoagie roll, or buy it by the pound, it tastes better than any store bought chicken salad, you wouldn't at the supermarket. They have great breakfast food, for a low price. You can basically get a meal out of there for under$10."
"The food hall is pretty darned awesome. This is a high end supermarket and it's been executed well in such an urban location. I've seen markets like this with Marks & Spencers in the UK. Pretty cool.Three stars because the beer tap room, that looked pretty amazing, ended up being pretty strange. First, it took three associates to figure out assigning my wristband. I don't know if it was my "foreign" drivers license from North Carolina or what, but they took ten minutes to get me started. Then, they've done something really weird with the taps - these blue inserts for sanitation? It would be awesome to understand that before I wasted three ounces of beer spraying all over. And finally, the tap room itself is loud with two TV's echoing throughout a marble space. It's very distracting when I was looking for a spot to have a chat or even do some laptop work.Yes, there's a free wifi that worked well but no power outlets.Figure out the tap room and make it more intuitive, they'll have a winner.[Review 17770 overall - 571 in Pennsylvania - 1291 of 2022.]"

Klein's somehow manages to have everything I need in their small space. Fresh lunchmeat, prepared foods, produce and just about every name brand pantry item you can think of. The employees are friendly and shop is clean. Klein's is a great way to shop small but without sacrificing any of your favorite items!

Food, service, and ambience were awesome. They moved next to Songsan and have added a lot to their menu. Everything from jajang dukbokki (for those who can't eat spicy) to tuna kimbap to fried chicken was delicious! Of course the mango bingsu was the highlight!

Supremes is the most trash grocery store, I'm sorry to say. I've been coming here on and off fr the last 13 years and even more so now that 40th walnut Fresh grocer is closed. The good - I have noticed they've increased the amount of vegan/ veg friendly products near the produce section. The continuous bad - it doesn't matter what time of day you come. But expect to wait in line for an average of 30 -45 minutes. Today there was ONE person ahead of me and I started waiting in line at 258pm. I am still waiting and it's 315pm When the line is long around 5/6pm rush hour - the line wraps around down the freezer section and around the meat aisle If you have a choice - dont g

My 450th different cheesesteak!! I am very happy that I had my 450th different cheesesteak in a historic building. The two young men working could not have been nicer. I like that my Cheesesteak was $8, there was inside seating and a bathroom to wash my hands. I liked the roll even though I think it was too big for the amount of meat. It was a good amount of meat but the roll felt empty. I would have also liked more cheese and a little more flavor. Overall it was a good cheesesteak experience.

Local living? If you're in a pinch, or just too lazy to walk to 10th & spruce or 20th & Market where the larger grocery stores are, then Spruce Market is for you. They have basically one of everything, for full price. You won't get a lot of variety here, but if you need something last minute, you can find it here. For example, I forgot bagged lettuce for my taco salad, went to Spruce Market, they don't have bagged lettuce but they did have a full head of lettuce that I chopped up. You need a bag of chips? You can get it here, but you pay the stamped price on the bag. No discounts. No sales. You need flowers? They sell several different varieties here, but they also are not cheap. The craft beer selection is also nice, and there's a few tables to sit down inside in the beer section. Overall, good to have locally nearby, but I would never do my prime grocery shopping here. I'd be broke. Small purchase? Check the credit card minimum. Its either $10 or $15, so bring cash.

Pretty darn good breakfast sandwich. Fresh off the grill and you can pick your own bagel. I gotta give love to a place where you can get a hot breakfast sandwich, Bernie's Pretzels, Corropolese tomato pie, and some homemade chicken cutlets all in one shot.

Great neighborhood market and takeout spot. Big selection of beverages. Order ahead, as they get busy. Steak sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, deli... they'll cook when you can't be bothered. We enjoyed the bulgogi cheesesteak. They are open pretty late. It's a friendly, reliable neighborhood shop.

Excellent little mom-and-pop store featuring produce fruits Italian Affair sandwiches and many Frozen in imported goods
Visit Restaurant Page"Great prices on seasonal produce. You'll pay much less for a ripe tomato or asparagus than you would at acme. Selection is pretty limited though, and you can't do your full grocery shopping here. Their fresh pasta (local brands) are priced WAAAAYYY below acme though. You can buy some top tier pasta for a steal here. Sandwiches are good although I haven't had many. Service and friendly attitude is an A+ though. I once left abruptly with my tantruming kid and they chased me down the block to give me the tomato and garlic I forgot. Let that sink in: they chased me down the block in the dead of winter because I forgot $1.69 worth of produce. That's pretty damn friendly. The dipshit teenager at acme wouldn't chase me down even if I forgot the kid at the store."
"One of my favorite parts of moving to a new neighborhood is getting a chance to explore all its corner bodegas and delis. So in my new space, Wawa is only a block away..... but if I'm going to level with you, it definitely isn't my favorite hoagie in the city. (Please don't throw batteries at me!!)I've passed Jay's a bazillion times and finally looked it up on Yelp. I love you guys. You didn't steer me wrong. Ordered an Italian hoagie. Got a beautifully constructed sandwich. I'll post that cross section for y'all. See how they put the lettuce between the mayo and meats so the meat & cheese don't slip and slide right out the roll with your first bite? It's the little touches, man! They also used some quality meats. The prosciutto was extra tasty. Can't wait to order many, many more hoagies from Jay's."
"I gave my support. I ordered half if an Italian hoagie. And no prosciutto.Pepper ham instead. The pepper ham was $3.00 extra. 12.46...Clean, and friendly. One and done for me."
"Palm Tree market never disappoints. Today was my first time in their NoLibs location, which is about twice the size of their other markets.Ordering at the deli counter was quick and easy, and by the time I grabbed a couple snacks and headed to the register, my wrap was already ready. I love that each location offers very consistent products. The deli meats and salads are always fresh and delicious, and the employees are always friendly. You also cannot beat the snack options. I'm amazed by how much they manage to stock in these stores! Don't sleep on the cold cases, which have a nice variety of fresh fruits, veggies, cheese and other staples. The fresh cut fruit is always delicious year-round. I'm not a big fruit person but even I can get on board when Palm Tree does all the work of chopping it up for me!"
"I wish I could tell you about the sandwiches, or the selection of snacks, but I don't know anything about that. What I know is that I promised to provide ice for a party nearby (a necessity for any party, and something that will get you in just about anywhere), and I was late and frantic.Olde City may not pick up the phone...ever, but they sell ice for $2.50/bag, they have plenty of it, they are conveniently located, and the guy at the counter seemed nice enough as I ran in, grabbed ice, and threw money at him. Thanks to them, I have not been disowned by my family."
"I've been wanting to go to an Asian Market for quite some time. Little do people know they are the best places to get meats, seafood, and all kinds of yummy noodles and sauces. I love how ample and clean this location is. Plenty of rows of frozen fish, seafood, wonton wrappers, etc. They also have fresh fish area where the clean, gut and cut your fish. The prices are amazing. I got 2 salmon fish heads fir a little over $2. The produce is fresh with a wide array of Asian, Caribbean, herbs, root vegetables and fruit. They also carry good knives and bowls for soups, soy sauce and saki containers. Parking is ample and staff is very helpful. I'll be back for sure!"
"Gag. 0 Stars to the infinity. Seriously. Stay away, if you value your innards, you will do yourself a favor and keep your distance from this bodega. I don't know if I can even recommend buying a pack of gum from here.Items here are rarely fresh (I mean, you can take one peek at their produce section and ascertain that for yourself) and shelf items (milk, too!) are almost always past their expiration date. Freezers and fridges don't even appear to be at the right temperature (and on several occasions their freezers have appeared to be broken, or emptied because they're broken)I'll recount one experience that still makes me throw up in my mouth a little when I retell it. A desperate day few months ago I was not feeling well, I just wanted something bland. So I went to the museum deli to get a box of rice and a box of pasta. Simple enough. Came home and made the rice absentmindedly. Once I started eating the rice, it was clear something was wrong, it tasted dodgy. I went back to the box and poured out some rice into a bowl and found hundreds of small teeny black bugs swarming the rice. GAG!!! I know. You threw up a little, didn't you? I then quickly opened the pasta right after that and found the same infestation there, too . Blechhh. Needless to say, I've never returned."
"This time around, we tempered our food court ordering and got Bulgogi Fried Noodle from Da Pan (perfectly al dente noodles, crisp cabbage, bulgogi, mushrooms, and scallions, all kept piping hot from the stone serving platter) and Kimchi Ramen from Mari Mari (a zingy, acidic broth), plus another cheese bulgogi inari and an eel inari. We managed to make it through the grocery store portion post-lunch without requiring more than the four reusable grocery bags we had equipped ourselves with. And we got Tiger Sugar boba on our way out: the bestselling #2 (which would've been perfect sans jelly cubes*) and the coffee-laced #4.P.S. If you want gimbap (especially on a weekend day) you'll want to get there earlier still than 12:30PM, as the gimbap table was already empty upon arrival to H Mart!*should've trusted my instinct re the jelly cubes knowing my dislike of jello."
"I feel like I owe M&M a review based solely on their hoagies. The only spot where I'll order a hoagie in Manayunk and the guy gets it right everytime. Don't sleep on their hoagies!"
"Really great sandwiches! Small clean hole in the wall sandwich shop. Most people ordered ahead which I would recommend to avoid the long wait. The chicken cutlet is clearly the star of the show and was excellent, but I will say it was hard to appreciate all of the flavors of the sandwich because all you could taste was the chicken cutlet (which was also a little bit heavy). I would probably try one of their non-chicken cutlet sandwiches next time. Will definitely be going back!"
"$4.50 are you kidding me!! This is a good cheesesteak. Two more slices of cheese melted through completely through the meat and this is a very, very, very, very good Cheesesteak, anywhere, anytime, and any price. The two young guys working at the mini market could not have been nicer. The grill man kept a very neat clean kitchen area. $4.50, good cheesesteak and nice people, what more do you want? Two more slices of cheese, a place to wash my hands and maybe a place to sit? Sorry I had to. Overall very good Cheesesteak experience."
"Whoa - expensivoso! But very friendly nice Korean lady at the counter and GORGEOUS looking stock - a copious amount of produce and groceries stocked floor to ceiling. Reminds me very much of some of the NYC mini-markets I used to frequent.A nice addition to the nabe.We got a nice container of chunked mango for $4.00 and they threw in a free banana."
"You guys! This place is kinda cool! I'm a sucker for a good ethnic market and this is certainly one. Not only does it have "regular" market food, it also has:-A fantastic variety of Russian, Uzbek, Bulgarian and other Eastern European gems. -The largest smoked salmon department I've ever seen. -The largest variety of apples. I've never seen so many different kinds. Not even at an orchard! Some I've never even heard of! -Rare'r' fruits like pomegranates, kumquats, persimmon and HUGE tubs of pomegranates seeds! At a steal too! -Caviar selection to make "The Rich & Famous" jealous -self serve, pay by lb. frozen pirogies and dumplings of all kinds. -Over a half a dozen soups from Borscht to cabbage to the kind that grandma used to make. -salad bar with all sorts of amazing, unique cold healthy salads. -hot to go bar for a quick din in a pinch! (If you enjoy the Uzbek restaurants this area is known for, you'll notice some of your favorite dishes in the to go section here! Fried potatoes with mushrooms is my fav!) -any kind of fish you could imagine. -fresh baked breads of all kinds!! -drool worthy pastries. -thick, cut to order bacon for you bacon lovers out there. -a very impressive honey and tea section! Fellow veg-heads, steer clear of the meat department!! Beside the normal bloody meats, I happen to unfortunately see skinned rabbits, turkey necks, veal tongue and cow feet. Ugh. Almost vomited. Prices were very fair! Tuesday's are 10% off for seniors. Slight language barrier, but not a big deal. If you're local and are used to Bell's Market and some of the Uzbek/Russian restaurants up this way, you'll be very pleased here. I will definitely be shopping here again when I'm in the area. Kiddos ate their .89 round seeded loaf in 2 seconds flat. Hubs enjoyed his almond cake too. The salads I sampled were delish!"
"When you're married to an Indian woman, you have learn where to get the items that she craves from home. For instance, one day in the beginning months of her pregnancy, she was craving jal jeera masala. Apparently she used to drink it as a kid, and it helped settle her stomach. After a description of what to look for, she sent me here to see if they had it. Yep... They had it. Rangoli is the closest Indian store to where we live, so we are semi regulars. I've personally been to Indian stores with far greater selection. This store will never be able to compare with places in Edison, NJ for instance. But they do very well for a store of their size. Plus, they're my hook up for when I need Parle G biscuits. When I visited India in 08, we drove past the Parle G factory in Mumbai as it is located close to where my wife grew up. Now, Mumbai tends to be polluted and smells like it. But at that moment when we drove past, Mumbai smelled like cookies and it was glorious. So when I want to relive that moment, it's nice that I only have to go to Clifton Heights instead of buying a $1500 round trip plane ticket."
"Visited: Friday - April 3, 2015 - 11:30 AMThe "Market" is a small grocery store with the usual canned, packaged, or jarred consumer food staples. What sets the "Market" apart from its competitors is the superior quality of "take-out" food. I used the term "take-out" but, catering is an important mainstay. My experiences have been nothing short of a five-star rating. Over a three stop visit, I've enjoyed eggplant lasagna, roasted mixed vegetables, chicken soup, stuffed peppers, red bliss potato salad, mashed yams, crab cakes, string beans, and challah bread. Fresh fish and meat are available in the rear of the store. The staff is friendly and accommodating.I enjoy cooking and have served my food to family and friends however, sometimes "assistance" is welcomed. My go-to for assistance is The Market. If my beloved 90 year old parents enjoy it, there is no reason to seek alternative "assistance"."
"best, fresh produce for a great price ! the people working here are very nice. the store is clean and organized."
"Kennedy food market is great. Good selection, polite staff, delicious deli sandwiches."
"Glad it's here - but it is expensive - you are paying for convenience. Also the deli (Dietz & Watson) looked nice - but just didn't appeal."
"OMG. I couldn't believe this small convenience store would have the only chocolate that i was craving for since I moved to the states three years ago. Yes they got MALTESERS. in addition to other cadbury products from UK. This place is amazing and the prices is surprisingly cheaper than what you expect. last night i bought Nestle coffee choice from Walgreens, and i found it at Pac a Deli $2 less than what i paid. The staff is so cool and kind not to mention PAUL, he is friendly and helpful. Since i live across of it i go there at least once or twice a week if not more. Again, if you are addicted to Dairy milk, flake, twirl or crunchie now you know where to find them ;)Three Yelps!"
"I really love having Food and Friends in the neighborhood and don't know what I would do without it. Since moving, I've already used F&F for everything from speedy wine and beer runs, snacks, all the makings of a bomb charcuterie board, and other essentials for hosting and the like. I don't come here for core groceries (that's not it's purpose) but you can't beat the convenience. I also really appreciate that they are open late! They post deals and bargains on their door and also have a really great selection of asian-inspired snacks and prepackaged grab and go options. Between here and Rittenhouse Market, you COULD 100% get by with everything you need, but just know that you're paying for the convenience and some thing's will have a bit of an upcharge. Go forth and grab your little rat girl treats and other essentials from F&F! Thank you for existing and I look forward to multiple trips in the near future."
"Not one to break tradition, I'll open with the obligatory THE COP SHOP!To the best of my knowledge, this corner beer spot had the moniker bestowed upon it as a result of the previous owners being former police officers. This was all before my time but that's the version I've heard batted around the most. Good ol' local Philly lore. What can I say? It's a corner store that's open till 2:00am with beer and an assortment of other necessities. Snacks, drinks, few canned goods. Just about every trip I've made has been completely uneventful (except being able to holler "hello" to John, the clerk). There's something to be said for consistency, advantage Town Food Market. As far are convenience stores go, it's open later than most others in the area so it's a clutch player. The in-store ATM does come with a wallet lightening $2.50 fee but insomniacs & drunks can't be choosers."
"Wow! Finally a clean, safe, fabulously-stocked (and equally highly priced) convenience grocer. The have milk, shrimp shumai, honey candies, go-go squeeze (applesauce) and boar's head deli. All the neccesities.Thank goodness they opened!"
"Gotta give some more love to one of my favorite spots for a quick sandwich and a great place to stock up on some grocery staples! Though I don't get there as often as I'd like simply due to distance from my house, Palm Tree is a must stop anytime I'm in the area. The chicken salad is still a favorite though I've been opting for tuna lately which is always great. I love that there is always a loaf or two of fresh bread available so I can grab a pint of tuna salad to make lunches at home. Their day-old bags of rolls, bagels and croissants for half price also come in handy. I bring them home, slice them up and throw them in the freezer for whenever I need them. The snack selection is amazing - I don't know how they manage to pack so many things into such a small store, but Palm Tree carries all of my go-tos, like Pop Chips, Smart Sweets, Tate's and more. Add in the always-friendly service, plus the recent addition of plexiglass barriers between employees and staff, and you've got a five star biz!"
