"I have never head an issue buying a delicious chicken and rice halal meal at this truck. The price, also, is always right, especially in this area where you typically pay an arm and an a leg for lunch. $5-6 dollars for a meal, including a drink? Who can beat that? And... the people here are super nice!"
"I have to second what someone else said, this pizza from Gopuff also made me and my girlfriend sick. It doesn't taste terrible, but isn't really worth the cheap price if it messes with your stomach."

"Easily one of the best food truck secrets in all of Philadelphia, for now? When I first read that the slightly unknown food truck was going to be in attendance during the Connie's Ric Rac 10 Year Anniversary Show, I instantly checked their website and had my minds eye flowing with meat perfection! And upon seeing the execution I have to consider the closest thing possible to having Fogo De Chao within a food truck! In fact it comes from a Brazilian born chef who spent time working in Fogo, Chima, and Na'Brasa (https://foodjunkets.com/2014/07/31/new-brazilian-steak-truck-coming-soon-to-philly/). So it goes without saying that he knows a thing or too about full on carnivore glory!Unless you're vegetarian/vegan, when you find yourself looking at a menu filled with sirloin, rib eye, sausage, chicken, and kebob options, for $10, it's easy to find yourself craving all of the above. Especially if you catch its scent as its being intricately cooked upon a hand turned spit rotisserie style (Inside the food truck!), and have the bulk of those meats served sandwich style with either lettuce/tomato/onion, or a good sized chunk of pineapple that's also cooked a bit upon the spit.Upon seeing the menu options my mind was singing to it Freddie Mercury style (https://youtu.be/hFDcoX7s6rE)! But with clearer reading the true winner turned out to be the Leme, which had the most succulent chunks of chicken that I've ever had, WRAPPED IN BACON, and stuffed into a flaky and slightly toasted roll alongside a good sized chunk of that aforementioned pineapple. And it goes without saying that that sandwich gods were smiling down upon me that afternoon! For now (Change request submitted!) this listing is perfectly misleading since Rio Brazil(ian) is a food truck and not a steakhouse, and 34th & Market is supposed to be where they're parked during the week when their not catering or doing special events. But if you're a meat eating sandwich lover who sees this truck (Facebook may help - https://www.facebook.com/riobraziliansteaktruck), do yourself a favor and get some!"
"Sometimes you expect to find great food in great and expensive restaurants or go in the search of a decent lunch to restaurant. Sometimes food trucks have great pictures and a lot of buzz but when you get their and order you are able to see that restaurants are in mortar and brick. In this case, I must tell you... It is NOT just hipe. This place delivers such great quality and quantity at a supper affordable price, almost everything in their menu is 6bucks. Which they should keep because is a great hook once you taste the food and realize that is truly amazing. This little food truck should definitely be in one of those food network episodes about food truck eateries."
"I'm hardly an expert on Pizza but I have been to Difaras in Brooklyn so I have the benchmark to compare any Pizza to. In Philly, nothing beats Beddia but getting a pie there is no small feat. If you want to get close to the Beddia experience, it's as simple as following Ramblepizza.com to see where they will be (coincidently sometimes parked just a few blocks from Beddia in Fishtown.)I ran into Ramble at the Wissahickon Brewing Co, this weekend and while I enjoyed the beers, the pizza really stood out. Kudos to Lauren and Ben for keeping it simple and focusing on making fantastic Pizza. Definitely a food truck to seek out."
"Service: super nice ladies who run this food truck. I couldn't comprehend this drink she mentioned to me, so she gave me a sample of it. I thought that was nice and a good sale on her end.Food: al pastor was juicy and infused with flavors! Chunks of tender meat along with chunks of pineapples on top! Love that they gave roasted jalapeño and a slab of nopales.Ambiance: surprised people don't line up for this joint but it's literally on the corner of 8th and wolf, across from the school.8.9/10"
"My friends ... can I call you friends? It was hot ... the steam was rushing off the blades of grass along the campus of the University of Pennsylvania enveloping those walking Philadelphia's streets with another layer of unneeded moisture. It was high noon, the curbsides littered with aluminum shelters and colorful delivery trucks providing pedestrians with a global array of aromas. My chosen mission, after bidding a friend with a temporary residency at U of Penn's hospital adieu, was the discovery of a quality lunch of distinction from amidst the array of options. No, I did not desire a lengthy searching process but after smelling, staring and snooping along the streets I discovered the right choice on a very hot day!An extensive menu with small and large plate options greeted me as did a clear path to the truck's open window. Ahh tropical heat ... I needed the islands JERK was the answer and as my head inched its way into the window I could smell mouth watering delights. My "man" in the truck was losing pounds by the moment in the heat but his greeting was warm. The conversation between strangers friendly and he smiled at my choices ... JERK chicken, which he affirmed by saying "you are going to really like it," some sweet yams and greens.I watched him scoop my very large lunch (I ordered small) into the styro box and it looked oh so good! The money exchange didn't hurt my wallet either. It was ungodly hot outside so to enjoy my meal I returned to the confines of the hospital's air conditioned lobby to indulge! He was right ... I really loved the bite of the jerk seasonings that had me licking my fingers in public! The greens and yam combo was awesome! I wanted more even though this delicious lunch filled me (And, there was no way I was walking back on those hot sweaty streets!).So where is Star #5? Well, as others have noted the chicken was a bit tough and warm not hot. A curse related to food truck cooking where the food awaits the diner versus being freshly prepared in the kitchen. Minor complaint because next time I am on Philly's hot streets at lunch time in close proximity to food truck heaven I will be looking for another visit at this kitchen on four wheels!"
"The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Tangs's: Fresh. The second? Super friendly.I came across Tang's during my usual stake out of food trucks during lunch hour and decided to order a beef and broccoli over brown rice. What I was expecting was the run of the mill Chinese take out version of beef and broccoli: semi tough beef and overcooked broccoli swimming in grease and a large quantity of brown sauce. To my great delight what I got was the complete opposite - the beef was tender and the broccoli was a lively green and incredibly fresh. There was a light and just right amount of sauce and great helping of chili oil. The lady running the truck is so friendly, welcoming & nice (a stark contrast to the lady at Yue Kee). The wait is short and the prices are impressively cheap. Looking forward to coming back and trying the other items on their expansive menu!"
"Gouba Grub is the real deal when it comes to Mediterranean food. The platters are healthy and bountiful. They are so tasty you might want to pick up a few platters. The ingredients are always so fresh and that makes for a fantastic product. The staff is very friendly and professional, and they are very helpful in explaining what is included in every dish. I stop by when they are parked on Bustleton Ave. right off of Cottman Ave. If you haven't checked them out yet you don't know what you're missing. Yes it is a food truck but you will receive a restaurant quality meal and for a reasonable price at that. I would not steer you wrong. You need to check these guys out if you are looking for a quick, affordable, homecooked meal. There is plenty of parking in the lot right behind the truck so it is quick in and out."
"Maybe this is irrational to say but the UCity food trucks were one of three things that kept me sane during my undergraduate career and to them I owe the world, much less a 5 star Yelp review. Yes, this was my first time at this particular truck and no, it wasn't distinct from any of the other halal trucks I've frequented, but hey. Cheap, quick, tasty, could probably last two meals but I was feeling woozy so I ate it all at once = all a girl can ask for. Thank you, I love you, and good night."

This is my go to spot for lamb over rice. For $5 bucks, you can get lamb, rice, and a salad topped off with red sauce (spicy or mild) and white sauce. Line can get a little long, but it moves pretty quickly. I've been going to this guy for a few years now and he's a nice guy - so give him you money!

Possibly the best food truck in university city. Fabulous meats. Try a different meat each time you come by. It's just fabulous. The picana beef to die for. Rice and beans with salad. Chicken wrapped in bacon. Grilled pineapple.

This was an impulse purchase after a long day at work and a tweet from BreweryARS. Ramble parks outside BreweryARS on Thursdays so I saw a tweet from ARS promoting this crazy pickle pizza special. I live in Kensington - so a good 20 minute drive away from this place but this Pickle Pizza special was worth the effort! My husband called in the order and had no issues picking it up. I will say I had the pizza about 1-2hours after we picked it up (see long day at work). My husband kept it in the oven on warm and it held up well. When I got home I was more than stoked to see him pull this gorgeous large pizza out of the oven. It tasted just as good as it looked! The pickles were fresh and crunchy and the tzatziki sauce with dill was a perfect compliment. The crust was thin and sturdy - like it didn't flop around and wasn't soggy at all. This was some bomb pizza and even though it's far, I'd make the trip for this pizza again. It's just a bonus you can pick up some great beer right next door.

Super friendly customer service and great food! This was another one of my experiments with trying a completely random taco truck. And a successful one at that. I had a steak quesadilla and it was well crisped and stuffed with sautéed onion and cheese. I will admit that I was initially confused by the inclusion of pasta salad as a side dish, but I googled it later and found out it's actually really common throughout Mexico and Central America. Grateful for the learning experience; I would definitely eat here again.

Haven't been the Gigi's in a while but I definitely love the fried whiting and potato salad from here! I'll have to pay them another visit in the near future; but I definitely used to come here all the time! I recommend calling ahead of time because the wait times a little bit of a hassle, but needless to say the food speaks volumes!
Visit Restaurant Page"I frequently work at the convention center in Philadelphia, right across from the Reading Terminal Market. I've explored nearly every food vendor within the market, but Ma Lessies consistently had lines stretching down the corridor. That level of popularity has to mean something special, yet due to my limited time, I never had the opportunity to wait in line--until yesterday.I can tell you now the hype is entirely real; Ma Lessies is nothing short of exceptional. The chicken is remarkably tender inside, boasting a delicious blend of flavors, and comes with a beautiful, crispy exterior. They fry basically everything--chicken, fish, cod, shrimp, and more--and each dish comes with a choice of one side. I've heard people saying that a single side is not enough, but for me, it was more than plenty. For my lunch, I got the chicken breast combo with their Mac and Cheese. Being a mac and cheese enthusiast, I can tell you that it was soooo good. I couldn't resist adding the cornbread to my order, and it lived up to my expectations--it's homemade, by the way, but be aware that it's an additional cost.Ma Lessies takes pride in crafting everything from scratch and preparing each plate to order, so be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times. Nevertheless, I've learned a local's trick to avoid the long lines (which worked perfectly for me). The place opens at 11 AM, so arrive about 10 minutes early to secure your spot in line and get your food promptly. Despite not being a fan of an 11 AM lunch, the exceptional flavor of the food makes it entirely worthwhile.I'm eagerly looking forward to trying their Chicken and Waffles, which is, essentially, their signature dish."
"This cart is run by a sweet couple. Great food options between classes. It's become the go-to place for food before, in between, and after classes. PLEASE USP/PCP/USciences (whatever the heck you want to call yourself), save Linda's Cart!"
"I was craving a bahn mi for lunch, but working in University City typically leaves me without any bahn mi options. Rather than venture into center city for my fix, I decided to wander around on campus at the lunch hour. I happened upon Chez Yasmine at 37th and Spruce in front of Vance Hall and was immediately excited to find tofu bahn mi on the menu, along with a number of other veg-friendly options. Woo, that was one spicy sandwich. I asked the food truck chef to go light on the spice and he obliged, but I also made the mistake of biting into one of the jalepenos. Yowza. It was delicious, overall. The spiced ground tofu, slices of cucumber and shredded carrots were nestled inside of a delightful crusty baguette. It was very nice, and I was especially excited to have a vegetarian sandwich to add to my work lunch options. I'll definitely come back and try out one of the other vegetarian options like the Gretchen quinoa salad or the Vegetarian Couscous. The owner/chef was very enthusiastic and warm. He took my picture for his facebook customer album and it made me feel very welcome."
"Everyone's got a taco truck they swear by, but very few have tripe, and even fewer put cheese on their tacos. Enter Tacos El Rodeo.Stopped by here on a remote work day (for legal reasons, during my lunch break) and opted for my safe bet when gauging a place: steak tacos and a jarrito soda to wash it down. She told me it would be a 10 minute wait and it ended up only being about half that. Steak was juicy and flavorful and I appreciate that they didn't dump a week's worth of cilantro and onion on it. Side salsas were tasty and spicy, but the melted cheese in the taco was the kicker. So few places do this and I don't know why. I know it's not tRaDiTiOnaL, but cheese makes everything better, let's be honest. It was pretty pricy for three tacos and a drink but I imagine that's just good ole' inflation these days (I don't get out much)."
"Love! Get it every time I see it. The owner is also soo kind! Highly recommend for a private event."
"I'm always greeted with a smile and a "what can I get for you, sister?"The friendliest food truck in the area, big enough portions that I usually get a full meal and a little snack from it. Can customize what you order and they do it with a smile. It's in a great location with really good hours for those late dinners, and every time I walk on that corner, when I weigh the options of all the yummy places, the food truck usually wins out. Try the fish over rice, if you usually get chicken, it's fried and delicious. They give you a drink with your food and are always clean. White sauce is tangy and I drench my chicken over rice in it, and the hot sauce is a good balance of flavors and slight spice. Try it next time you want some street food. Even the cheesesteak is classic!"
"This little halal cart is located across from the Whitman shopping plaza. Honestly, you can't beat the price for $8 rice platters with a drink. You can also call ahead to place your order for pickup at 267-699-8572. The guy is super nice and friendly. Although I came around 5pm on a weekday, there were a few people ahead of me so you know that this is a good spot. The food itself is okay, I think portions are on the smaller side but definitely worth trying. It gives you plenty of rice and meat. I was a bit disappointed in the salad as it wasn't much. Otherwise this is a great spot for a quick to go meal."
"I continue to be amazed by both the quality and quantity of food provided for less than $10! They even throw in a drink. This food truck offers sandwiches, platters over rice, or platters over salad (or a combination of rice and salad). I opt for the platter over salad every time, switching between lamb and falafel. They put white and hot sauce to your preference.I do not know there formal hours, but I typically catch them right before they pack up between 7 and 8pm. The cart is quick with extremely friendly service. Check them out!"
"This place is my go-to for grabbing a quick lunch during work. I always get the Kimchi Fried Rice with beef (you can also get chicken or tofu instead). For $7, it's a great deal. The portions are very generous with lots of kimchi and beef, topped with a fried sunny side up egg. It's very spicy but so good. I have tried the tteokbokki also, which is spicy and delicious too. I have dabbled in the other menu items a bit, like the bibimbap, but nothing is as satisfying as the kimchi fried rice. Totally recommend getting the kimchi fried rice here! For the price, you can't beat it. Like a typical food truck, they accept cash only. However, they recently started accepting Venmo! So that makes it a lot easier."
"This food truck really reminds me that there are good people left in this world! Jay is one of the most sweetest person ever! Once a month he has free food for anyone which, is something I didn't know until last week when me and my co-workers went to get some food. Not only does he do this but when you pay for the food vis Venmo he comments on everyone of them thanking his customers! The food itself is super worth it as well. There are two options either chicken which, is $5 or the pork which, is $6. The meal comes with water so you dob't have to worry about your beverage. On top of the meal you pick he offers to put onions and hot sauce which, is something I recommend because it just makes it taste 10 times better. The food is good and the customer service is fantastic!"
"If you're looking for a food truck that offers flavorful and authentic Indian cuisine, then look no further than "Bombay Kitchen Food Truck"! This food truck is a must-visit for anyone who is a fan of Indian food, and the weekly specials only make the experience even better. The first thing that stands out about Bombay Kitchen Food Truck is the quality of the food. The dishes are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that are packed with flavor. The menu offers a variety of classic Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, and samosas, as well as some unique creations that you won't find anywhere else. One of the things that sets Bombay Kitchen Food Truck apart from other food trucks is their weekly specials. Each week, the truck offers a new special dish that showcases different flavors and ingredients from across India. Some of my favorite specials include the samosa, chicken biryani and chicken chicken tenders . The specials are always a great way to try something new and exciting. In addition to the delicious food, the staff at Bombay Kitchen Food Truck are always friendly and welcoming. They are happy to answer any questions you might have about the menu or the ingredients, and they are always ready with a smile.Overall, I highly recommend Bombay Kitchen Food Truck to anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine. With its delicious food, weekly specials, and friendly staff, it's a food truck that should be on everyone's must-visit list."
"Ample parking areaBest to call in and place your order but if not you have an area to sit and wait. Workers are friendly and helpful when placing order."
"Finally decided to try this truck through Ubereats. Zero complaints. The chicken and rice are really good."
"If you are a lover of Açaí bowls then this spot should be on your list. It is a great neighborhood spot for a healthy meal. You can order there and the bowls are prepared quickly by very friendly staff or you can order online and pick up. Online orders are easy and make it simple to customize your bowls."
"Today while in University City I needed a quick bite to eat. I didnt want anything heavy, as I past this food cart the prices and menu caught my attention. I decided on the chicken on a stick it was 2 sticks of flavorful chicken garnished with red cabbage, shredded carrots and cucumbers. It also had a side of sweet chilli sauce. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. If I am in the area again I will stop past and venture out on the menu."
"tl;dr at this must-try food truck, you can enter Philly's birria scene without shelling out or waiting for hours Birria is a relatively recent trend in Philadelphia, and multiple Philly food carts and brick-and-mortar spaces have entered the birria game. For the unfamiliar, birria is meat (typically goat, lamb, or beef), slow-cooked with classic spices and seasoning, including chilis, garlic, bay leaves, and cumin. Quesabirria is a modern adaptation of birria, consisting of tacos featuring a layer of crisp, melted chees, served beside a cup of consomme for dipping. Some friends and I recently had the opportunity to enjoy birria from Burrito Feliz's truck at Love City Brewing (aside -- LCB has a stellar HH deal: $4 for any brew on draught). The mint-green truck was unmistakable, featuring Mexico-inspired sketches and a minifridge below the ordering window. Although Burrito Feliz has multiple protein options (including vegetarian options), my eyes and heart immediately locked onto the Birria Tacos. We ordered, then scanned the Venmo code to beside the window. Early on this weeknight, there were only a handful of folks ahead of us, translating to just a few minutes wait.Burrito Feliz's rendition of quesabirria utilized two tortillas per taco, fried crispy with a layer of cheese between. Each taco packed a generous quantity of beef, garnished with onion, cilantro, and a few lime slices. The heft tacos were flavorful alone but reached a whole new level with the consomme. This broth packed a surprising punch, hosting a rich variety of flavors. Even the chipotle dipping sauce on the side was a star, featuring smokey notes and a low, lingering spice. My only critique on the food was that the birria itself was slightly tough and dry -- quickly overcome with a hearty dunk into the consomme. Most of us thoroughly enjoyed our birria entrees, but my plant-based friend also commended Burrito Feliz' tofu chorizo tacos (I tried a bite, and can confirm they were solid). At $14 for 3 tacos and consomme, Burrito Feliz may ring on the expensive side for food truck fare (potentially due to pandemic-related food shortages?). Nonetheless, this limitation is decidedly outweighed by the hefty portions, robust flavors, and notably quick queue. I strongly anticipate craving birria again soon, and when it does, this mobile taquería will be on my shortlist"
"I found myself here after having a meeting nearby, and I just liked the look of the truck and figured why not. There were so many options but I choose the kebab hoagie. Took a good 10 minutes and came with a soda at a nice $8 price point. My sandwich had so much flavor! The nice taste of hot a cold ingredients (the hot kebab vs the cold lettice, tomato, etc) was pleasant. The spicy sauce was pretty tasty and not uncomfortably spicy. The only thing I wish i did was eat the whole sandwich in one sitting because it didn't reheat well. and the sauce soaked the bread. Otherwise, a very good quick meal."
"Usually at 33th and Arch St. It was a great food truck cheesesteak. According to an article online the owners are good hard working people. Mr. Happy Sunshine wasn't too happy sunshine when I ordered my ice tea after my cheesesteak was cooked. If I worked, lived or played near Drexel, For $5 I would eat this cheesesteak allday everyday."
"This place is conveniently located and absolutely delicious! It's a regular must-hit for me anytime I'm in town. And Lyn is such a nice and friendly person - be nice to her and she'll be GREAT to you :)"
"Moshava has been on my radar for a while from their popups at Herman's Coffee Shop, and when I saw them at Manayunk StEAT Fest, I shavad mo way through the crowds and got in line, and once I got my food all I wanted was mo to shava in my mouth! They were busy and looked a bit overwhelmed and it took a while to get the food, but it was so good! There were options of 3 bowls- shnitzel, falafel, and shwarma, priced at about $15-16 I think? All came with rice and chick peas, and there were other options for some sides like hummus, fries and tater tots. The best thing we got were the lamb pita pockets- highly recommend those and the sauce was so good! We also really enjoyed the shnitzel and lamb shwarma with bok choy. The green spicy zhug sauce was super spicy! This place israeli delicious, highly recommend following them on ig to find out where you can find them!"
"This place is a gem and all the Chinese people know of its existence on the Penn/Drexel campus. For $3-$5 you can get a carton full of somewhat authentic (depending on the dish you order) Chinese food including a soft drink. It's really busy weekdays during lunchtime when floods of international students and/or asian health science professionals hoard this truck, so if you order then expect a 15 minute wait. They now take phone orders so you can avoid this dilemma. During non rush hour your food is ready within 2-3 minutes.A middle aged couple runs this truck, and they don't normally greet you with bright smiles and extraordinary etiquette; but you're an idiot if you expect great customer service from a food truck. You're paying them $3-5 for quick delicious food.. they don't owe you any extra smiles, and they can afford losing your business if you can't tolerate not being treated like a princess. In all honesty, they're just very neutral but that's understandable considering the level of stress. tldr; cut these people some slack and just order your food and leave.I'm surprised no one has contributed actual food photos of this place, so I guess I'll be the first."
"Finally got to try another water ice vendor in the city! On a scorching hot day, the mango water ice hit the spot. My husband got a beef hot dog and enjoyed it as well as a blueberry water ice. The water ice is on par with Rita's. Don't expect bits of fruit like you get at Pop's. But you'll get an icy treat that is sure to please on a hot summer day in the city. There were several people working in the truck, so they had an efficient system so that folks weren't waiting long at all. Bonus points for having soft pretzels and pizza pretzels on offer as well. (It was just too hot for me to eat anything but frozen treats the day I visited them.)"
"The Mexicali food truck is back. It's back, people. Oh, do you prefer the abundant burrito chains in West Philly? I'm sorry... do you even have taste buds? This place has a seriously creative menu. I'm a vegan and I can appreciate the incredibly long list of veg-friendly options (just hold the cheese to make them vegan). Today, on their grand re-opening day, I tried the new "Tofu Verde" burrito for $5. Everything on it is quality. From the deliciously fresh and soft tortilla, to the chewy marinated tofu, to the cilantro and onion, to the slow cooked wonderfully spiced beans. I inhaled it although the initial plan was to save half for later. My bad. But so worth it.I also highly recommend anything with sweet potatoes or guacamole. The vegetarian tacos are wonderfully spicy, packed with tofu and sweet potatoes and a great deal at $5."
