My partner and I stopped by to Dawa for a really quick spontaneous dinner on a Monday night. In the Fishtown area, understandably there aren't a ton of places that you can grab a casual bite to eat that are open, so we were appreciative that they were. It was really quiet, but after a little bit it actually did fill up with other tables. The seating area is cute and the atmosphere is very simple but nice. Even though it's literally right next to the El, I felt like I couldn't really hear the train / it didn't bug us. Service was very quick, we ordered 3 rolls to share (the spider roll, spicy tuna, and an eel roll) and we loved each one. It was all super delicious, and one thing that we noted that was a really nice and surprising touch was the wasabi. You can tell wasabi quality quickly based on texture. If the wasabi is more crumbly, usually that means higher quality and ours was like that.Everything tasted really fresh and we appreciated the complimentary tea, it was super refreshing and we got refills. We also noted that they had mango bingsu; we were too full but next time we'd love to try it. Pricing was reasonable as well. A general tip, if you pay with cash there's a bit of a discount! It was too hot to try the ramen, but we do want to try to come back for that.

this place is sitting at a 4.5 rating from the community as I write this review and I agree with that. wish I could rate half stars. my char siu or whatever it was called on the menu (I just asked for pork ramen) was pretty good. Not a ton of different flavors and was a lil salty but it was good, was a decent price, and I would order again. the noodles also weren't soggy and im weird about that so that was a big plus for me lol. service was decent I think there were only a couple people working in there. ambiance also left a little to be desired but they're working with what they have so that's not a big deal for me. overall my expectations were met. nothing was amaaaazing but nothing about our experience was subpar. Also let me not forget, it was clean in there. that matters more than the food tasting good matters lolside note I enjoyed the way the corn was cut. my dinner partner said that's the tiktok style. I had never had it but it was an enjoyable and convenient way to eat corn. they need to add emojis to yelp *thumbs up*

Came here lunch inside. Nice vibe with the bamboo and wooden walls. Friendly waiter. I tried their chachu ramen. Tasted like tonkatsu based broth. Nice big portion. Broth was tasty. I like the toppings with the corn and veggies. Comes with a full egg too. I thought the noodles and chachu were a bit lacking. Meat wasn't as tender as it's supposed to be and had some chew. Overall, it's good, but I have others I enjoy more in the city.

The vibe was nice kinda giving upscale speakez but hole in the wall jawn at the same time. veggie ramen was Surprisingly Nice. I'd slurp that ish any day. Lack of one star bc the sushi I got the Cali roll kinda blew but the ramen was fiuhh id come back for that itself plus the other stuff on the menu looked good but kinda pricy the ramen was like $10 bucks and well worth it

Located in Fishtown near Girard Septa stop. Excellent cha shu ramen - well prepared and garnished; broth has a nice spicy kick. Sashimi special was fresh and nicely sliced.

***TIP: If you GPS here, it will navigate you to the side door but the sign on the side door will prompt you to enter through the front entrance. If you're facing the side door, turn left and walk around the block and you'll find the front entrance on your right. I had the Cha Shu Ramen and the Roast Duck Bao Bun. The ramen broth didn't have much body or flavor and the pork was dry (even soaked in the broth). The portion was relatively small too compared to many ramen establishments I frequent in NJ. The bao bun was good, no complaints! The bun was fluffy and the filling was generous. I do wish the cilantro was chopped to make each bite a little more even with filling, but that's just me nitpicking. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive though, so I appreciated that. Overall, this place is okay. Not bad, but nothing memorable.

The food here was great and service was quick! I called ahead of time and was told I didn't need a reservation for a Saturday dinner. Tables inside are limited but it seems that they are pretty busy with pick up orders. The fish here is fresh and the menu isn't too overwhelming! I definitely recommend the yellowtail roll and crispy rice.

High quality sashimi is served. They also have ramen and other cooked appetizers. If you look for the omakase experience, please call ahead and book for the chef table. We get a complimentary torch seared toro from chef. Definitely we will revisit. Good service and looking forward to try their ramen next time.

Fabulous restaurant!!! Best Japanese in Philadelphia and South Jersey. Tuna cracker is crisp and amazing. Great sauce and jalapeño on top. Green salad is huge and a great price. It has tomato, cucumber l, orange segments, and onions. Wonderful ginger dressing. Ask for a side of avocado! Duck bao buns are tasty, tender and a little sweet. Ramen noodle soup has corn off the cob and has a beautiful and spicy broth. The pork bao buns are too die for- very tender and such quality pork. My only regret is that I didn't take pictures for you. A must visit place!

Came here on a Sunday night for a pickup order and ordered a few different items. The service is really slow. I put in the order at 5:40 pm and they quoted me 6:05 pickup. I arrived around 6:10. The restaurant was half busy but I still didn't get my order until 6:30, which meant the wait for my takeout order was 50 minutes. As a result; some of the food was cold while others warm.- Crispy Rice (2/5): the portion sizes were really small on this. The rice was chewy and crispy, but I couldn't help but taste the oil in the rice, which made it taste kind of nasty. The fish seemed fresh on top.- Roasted Duck Bao Buns (4/5): this was pretty good! I loved the slight sweetness of the baos and the roasted duck inside was flavorful. However, because of the long wait time, it was really cold, which really detracted from the experience. The place was pricy. The crispy rice of 5 pieces was $18 and the bao buns $10. Would likely not want to return.
