"I'm not sure why Happy House was a 4-star review last year, so just updating this to 5 stars!Still my go-to Chinese restaurant in the area!"
"This is my number one roast duck in North America so far, it's very delicious, another recommended dish is beef brisket noodles"

"Solid to go lunch options and one of the few prices point you'll still find for under $10 for lunch. No frills take out joint. The lunch egg roll has been downsized a bit here to more of a spring roll. The fried rice is passable but not the best out there."
"I've been coming here a few times this past year already. There are several Chinese-American restaurants locally, but China Star stands out because the portions are quite generous and plentiful. It's located in a small plaza and the inside is more like a casual deli. If you like General Tso's chicken, this place nails it quite well. Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken area also popular options, far better than Panda Express. You can order on DoorDash, but their prices are usually cheaper on the parent site or in person. The food is also prepared pretty fast, usually only taking about 15 minutes or so. As for the lady who knows it, English isn't her first language but she's fast and she takes care of her regulars pretty well. You can eat-in, as there are a few tables to dine at, but most people just order out. Of note, they are closed on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly."
"Just moved and was super lucky to get it right the first time. Food was fresh and delicious. They were super nice when I went in to pick it up. Said they had been.l there for years. Dumplings where a bit thick but I ate them all and they were yummy. Good solid Chinese takeout and delivery. Will definitely order again soon."
"This review is a four overall but more like a 3.7 I will start off by saying that brand that China buffet has probably the most options out of any buffet that I've experienced. However am I paying the options that were available were just okay. There were some stand-out items like the salmon which was seasoned and had a wonderful sauce on it or the sushi which was pretty solid and the seafood options, Even the hibachi station was cute. But overall most of the options just fell a little short. Bad enough our table wobbled badly and when I asked if we could move I was pretty much met with a, "no" Even though it wasn't super crowded and they were tables clearly available. One of my favorite items was definitely a little shrimp cakes they make. I definitely want to try them when we aren't rushing to go somewhere else and we can actually sit down and experience more of the items. I definitely tried about 10 to 12 different things and only two of them were really good but the rest I didn't finish. I usually like to go to buffets on weekdays when there are a million people in there which is why I definitely want to go in on our last busier day."
"Ordering a substantial portion of Peking Duck from Sang Kee Peking Duck was the highlight of my last trip to Reading Terminal Market, and perhaps the entire trip to Philadelphia. I love observing skillful usage of a cleaver."
"Lunch with my vegan bestie today. She recommended Jasmine Asian Bistro for the extensive vegan options available, and I'm so glad she did. It was such a nice place to sit and catch up over a delicious meal in a charming restaurant with unique carved wood decor and attractive table settings. Our waiter was friendly and service was great. He may have been the owner - not 100% sure. Hot oolong in a fine stone teapot and Chinese fried noodles with duck sauce were automatically brought out to start us off. Water glasses were kept fresh and full of ice water. We were checked on periodically but not rushed. It was perfect. We loved our vegetable dumplings and pineapple fried rice but the ginger mock ham was is my favorite thing today. Temps outdoors were in the upper 90s, so I much appreciate that our server was happy to fill my water bottle with ice water as we were leaving. I took a to-go menu w me as I will absolutely have this place in mind next time I'm in town. YES: vegan friendly"
"The food was decent and quick. The service is awesome they are really good people. Price a little higher than most and parking is difficult. But definitely worth a try!"
"Was able to stop in for their grand opening to try the self serve build your own hot pot. Dozens of fresh ingredients to choose from with many types of noodles, large variety of vegetables, fish balls, meat slices, and other assorted items. Build your own hot pot all you do is pick the broth base at the end: original mala (spicy), mushroom, or tomato. Start by picking up a bowl and tongs, fill with everything you want at the self serve area, and then go to the counter to choose your broth base. You pay and get a number, then sit down and wait for it to cook up until they call you. Price is $13.99/lb for everything, and they also have some drinks to buy as well. There is a separate area to build your own spices cup with chilis and oils. Overall it is very good concept and everything fresh and tasty! Glad the chain opened a spot in Philly. Thanks"
"Take out review:Gorgeous restaurant inside, beautiful decors and interiors. Their menu also broad like other Asian restaurants, includes variety of dishes with beef pork duck, chicken, seafood and vegetables. We put in a take order with them. The order was prepared within estimated half an hour time. We liked the beef dishes, thin noodles. Triple crown (shrimp, scallop, chicken) was also good. The royal crown duck was disappointing. It was on the dryer side, not enough seasoning on it. The pancake was deep fried too much. They were very generous with us, gave us lots of side dishes, utensils and fortune cookies. Loved their FC, as its mixed with chocolate."

One of regular takeout options, I particularly enjoy mainstay items like the Fried Rice, Lo Mein, won ton soup, egg rolls and General Tao's chicken. Some dishes like the Lemon Chicken can be a little hit or miss. I've had when it's excellent and when it's not quite right. The Beef and Broccoli can be a similar hit or miss experience. The staff is very friendly.

A very plain, very clean storefront in a tiny strip mall with a mid century modern sign that once may have had neon. Three chefs working hard and the owner managing things. He told me is dad ran the Pepsi/Happy Garden, which was so popular in Chinatown back in the day, and he worked with his father at several establishments. The food is tasty, non overly sweet or salty, and the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Without disparaging the other Chinese food purveyors in NW Philly, none makes high quality Cantonese style food of or even near this quality!

I love pickup at this place. It's not a dine in establishment. The food and service is amazing, it never disappoints. I can recommend the shrimp mei fun, shrimp egg rolls, and fried rice and steamed veggies. I keep coming back.

Ordered some General Tso's chicken, chicken lo mein, fried pork dumplings, eggroll, and pizza roll. Food was okay, your run of the mill fair. Did not like the dumplings, though. Skin was thick and filling was not good.

$18.99 on a Saturday for adults. Seniors get a 10% discount if you show your ID. A drink is $2.79. This buffet has the most variety out of all the ones in the area. I like that their food is not overly salty here. The wait staff here can get a bit rude. If you leave a whole plate of food, they will tell you not to waste and ask you to pack it to go for $5.99/lb.

This location that am rating is located inside Philly's Reading Terminal Market. The Peking duck is absolutely to die for - even better than the famous Peking duck served at Peking Duck restaurant in Falls Church VA where you see thousands of pictures of famous people plastered to the walls. The duck here is fresh, extra crispy, meaty and not fatty, super deliciously seasoned. It is the star of several of their dishes: Peking duck and shrimp wonton noodle soup, Peking duck with vegetables and rice which we ordered. This place is unpretentious, very affordable, comes out hot and delicious!
Visit Restaurant Page"I have ordered through them quite a bit, and one thing I can say is they are timely and have done a great job with the no-contact delivery. I have had a few dishes that were better than others (the crab ragoon the last time I had it was chewy), but for the most part they are pretty consistent."
"You see a Chinese restaurant in this neighborhood maybe every 4 blocks-- but as far as post-bar food goes, this place is pretty great! The hours go well with late night munchies, and the menu has something for everyone, with some consistent quality. Don't let the bulletproof glass and cutouts in the window fool you! You can watch them cook the food in the back. Cash only! They cook fast, and you can pop into The Barn next door and grab a drink or play pool while you wait! This was my first experience with the Philly phenomenon Yat Mein, and I fell in love! The general tso's was a good texture and flavor, and the egg rolls pretty large and satisfying. Pretty great prices and portions!"
"Collegeville is lacking a good many things, and a decent takeout Chinese food place is definitely on that list. Well, perhaps no longer. I honestly had no idea Rice House was there, and it seems as though they are very new to the area. I tried it today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised!Ordered online for in-store pick-up. Their website could use a bit more work, but it allowed me to order online easily and quickly. Got the job done for sure. Order took about fifteen minutes and was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Service at the restaurant was pleasant, though I only spoke with the one girl who took my payment. You can pay in-person or online, but I chose in-person this time. Restaurant itself is small, basically purpose built for takeout in the traditional "small front area, ordering counter, and huge kitchen in the back" layout. Order was a lunch portion of General Tso's with pork fried rice, some beef on a stick, and tangerine chicken. It was all delicious! Ok, the beef on a stick was average. Good flavor, but it needed to be cooked hotter or longer. No caramelization on the meat at all, and that really gives it some extra flavor. But very tender. The General Tso's and Tangerine chicken were both delicious! Lots of flavorful sauce, good cuts of chicken, and crispy! So many takeout chinese places in the area, you get the food, the chicken is soggy. Rice House's offering is crispy and crunchy even after I got it home, which I've been desperately missing. The pork fried rice had lots of flavor, but was not greasy, so a pleasant combination.Overall, this may be my new place for Chinese takeout, though I hope they improve the beef on a stick. That being said, if you like takeout chinese, definitely give this place a shot!"
"Food is fresh & tasty! There are many varieties of dishes including an excellent sushi bar. Service is friendly! Ambiance is pleasant! The place is large with special room for large parties."
"It was past midnight when my friends and I wanted something to eat, but thank God our hotel was within walking distance of Chinatown and Ho Sai Gai stays open until 4 AM on Saturdays. We walked in right before a late-night rush (presumably of people on their way to/from clubbing) and were seated immediately. Their service was fast and friendly, and our server answered all of our questions with a smile. As for the food, the Spicy Hunan Wings were bussin' and had a nice kick to them without the spiciness being overpowering. I also enjoyed my honey coconut pineapple shrimp; however, for its high price point I feel like it could've come with a side of rice and the shrimp could have been de-tailed before being cooked. It was a messy process taking the tail off of shrimp with such a heavy coating of sauce, but they were delicious nonetheless and a side of rice wasn't that much extra ($2-$3 I believe). All in all, Ho Sai Gai was a pretty solid place to grab a late-night meal."
"GF friends, delight! Noodle 88 offers a specific GF menu which highlights what can be made gluten free, and their adjustments are delicious (Copy of Gluten free menu from fall 2023 included in pics!). I had the sweet and sour chicken, which came with broccoli; it was the most delicious sweet and sour chicken I've ever had! Everything was extremely fresh and tasty. Will certainly be back to try more."
"Authentic Yunnan style noodles soup located in Chinatown Philadelphia, It's a chain originally from New York I believe. The name Shi Miao Dao is a transliteration and the meaning of it is "arrived in 10 seconds" which doesn't mean the food arriving in 10 seconds after you ordered but you can feel like you have arrived to Yunnan after 10 seconds of tasting the food. The most popular dish is of course the rice noodles, there's are different type of soup bases and toppings. For beginner I would recommend the chicken or beef, I personally love the spicy hotpot broth or the Sichuan peppercorn broth with fish fillets. They do prefer cash as a result there's a surcharge for card like many other places."
"Sorry for the lack of pictures. The wonton soup was very good but not hot. The pecking duck was tasty but the skin wasn't as crispy as it should have been with a good amount of fat between the duck and the skin. The shrimp in black bean sauce was the favorite of the table as was the fried rice. But all the food came out warm not hot. Service was fair due to not checking in or filling water glasses. The restaurant itself was nice and they have a large takeout business."
"Great service as I called in for a takeout order. My order was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. Everything was perfect when I got the order home. Shrimp walnut sauce was cooked to perfection and tasty. The green beans were seasoned properly and they went down easy. Spring rolls were crispy and went down easy."
"Very yummy! Nice ambiance and the service was great. Very fresh vegetables and well cooked meat!! Sushi delicious"
"First time ordering and the food was extremely delicious!! They delivered FAST. I ordered the pepper steak and the pork fried rice and it was delicious. My boyfriend also loved his shrimp and broccoli!! Definitely ordering again!!"
"I have visited the other locations of Danny's Wok and this one is in a nice location, so I decided to check it out for the "famous wings". The wait wasn't long - the service was good and the wings are the same - pretty good - that Danny's Wok flavor!I would say that that you know what you are getting at Danny's Wok - wings are always consistent no matter the location. I can't speak to the other offerings-but maybe listen to your fellow yelpers and heed what they say!"
"One of my favorite restaurants when I am in the mood for Chinese and sushi! Love it every time."
"During 'pandemic 2020' where most of the Chinese places are closed! There were like only 2 places open within delivery distance, this was one. Luckily it was in the area of most of the places we usually order from,I don't know how we missed it before. I guess since there were so many to choose from, and we had our regular go to places. Anyway delivery time was ok and food was good enough and well presented."
"Small takeout place in the Marchwood Shopping Center. I call this genre of food as "cheap Chinese" - simple and not too expensive. Egg rolls - goodKung Pao chicken - not spicy enough and too saucyMoo shu pork - excellent and they give you TEN pancakesDumplings-homemade! And yummy"
"Get the Chef's Tasting menu! Totally worth it for all the food you get to try. $55 per person. Pork pao was delicious and crispy. Wagyu beef satay was tender and juicy. Chicken wings were decent, some pieces were a bit dryer. Crispy duck was a HUGE portion. The duck was good and crispy. Crispy laksa prawns were crispy. The laksa was very light in flavor. Singapore mai fun did not have a strong curry flavor I was hoping for. This dish was also a big portion. We were given mini ice cream cones for dessert."
"You could taste the ingredients in each bite! It is very tasty! The egg rolls are made fresh. It is a true "Mom and Pop" place - the chicken tasted like chicken and not just sauce. If you around - try it! Only four stars because no delivery, 3 percent charge for Cc and you have to add the tip when you pick up. It is a take out place only,"
"Very fresh sushi on Main Street. We just moved to the area and were craving sushi! We arrived around 730 on a Friday night and were immediately seated outside. We started with miso soups and a sashimi Tower. The miso soup was decent. We also got the coconut shrimp and edamame. Coconut shrimp was delicious! The edamame was okay. Nothing special. We all ordered a bunch of rolls. Hard to remember which ones but everything was delicious and tasted extremely fresh. We're happy we were outside as inside was hot and very loud. Service was average. We will be back for our sushi cravings!"
"Exactly what you'd expect when you get Chinese takeout. It's a go to spot for a good quick meal. The standard stuff you get is all good but haven't really branched out."
"This is our favorite Chinese place in the area. They have all the classic Chinese food options and everything always tastes delicious. We typically order general tsos, beef and broccoli and egg rolls. The food is so flavorful and the egg rolls are always crispy. The staff is always friendly and greets us every time we come in. We've always had a great experience ordering here."
"I went here on a Friday night because the other place I was going to go told us to wait an hour. We were the only ones there on a Friday night (more did come by in the end). The service was prompt and fast. The server was nice. I ordered shrimp fried rice and all the other people ordered sushi rolls. The food itself was pretty average. Nothing newsworthy, but nevertheless a solid dinner choice with good service."
"I agree the decor is not that great but when I was visiting in Philly walking through the Chinatown section I decided to check this place out. Typical chinese "take out" or just good for lunch specials type place. I got the general tso's chicken and chicken with broccoli together as combo type deal. It was not that expensive and it served its purpose. I was pretty hungry. I missed out on the other food option I was really looking forward to in the Terminal Market but this was a good last minute replacement just to eat something. I am sure there were much better chinese places around (Even some that had the PEOPLE LOVE US ON YELP STICKER) but this was good just for the money value though. Defintely not that attractive looking inside to sit down and eat."
"Good Chinese. Sometimes too busy to answer the phone. Dine in is good. Crispy noodles and tea with every meal. We love the Chicken and broccoli The chicken fried riceThe boneless spare ribsPepper steakGeneral Taos"
