"This review is for take out. I was looking for a highly rated place for Philly cheese steak nearby and found Tony G's. I picked up their 12" Philly cheese steaks with melted provolone and grilled onions for $11.50 each and also pub style fries and onion rings. Two people can easily share a 12". The cheesesteaks were good and overstuffed; I'd rate them a 4.25 and the fries and onion rings were greasy (as you'd except) and I'd give them 4 stars. Prices were reasonable for the oversized portions. The place itself is an awesome looking dive bar. The type of place locals swear by. I'm sure I'd rate it higher if I had a drink and food onsite. Will have to try it another time. Parking lot and outdoor dining area."
"Different Cheesesteak #1146. This is why I'm allowed to complain about paying more than $14 (including tax in Philly) for a very good cheesesteak. I got my usual Cheesesteak with fried onions, mushrooms and american cheese. It came on the best Liscio's roll I ever had. Authentic looking Italian lady sitting at the counter overseeing everything. This was a very good cheesesteak but the fried onions overpowered everything a little bit. The mushrooms looked very good. I would have liked to taste them more. I am very interested in the Chicken cutlet. The specials (dollar dogs and NBA) are amazing."

The wings are big and meaty and the sauce is on point. They have tons of sauces but I stick with Buffalo and the Cam Newton (Carolina BBQ & Hot Sauce Mixed) Always great for the games. Just sucks they do not open until 1PM on Sundays. i like to not miss any of the game. Cheesesteaks are very meaty and well seasoned. The roll which makes any sandwich is crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. With the right amount of fried onions and cheese makes for one tasty meal. If in the area give them a try, I am glad I did."
"We were staying in the building next door to City Pizza. The service was fast and friendly. The food was good. Loved the chew of the crust. We ordered a medium pie which easily made 4 servings and a Caesar salad. There was seating inside as well as bistro tables outside."
"I mean, I'm sure the food is good but it's hard to taste it over the insanely loud terrible service you get here. There's a big difference between bad customer service and intentional rudeness. I'm so sorry, Larry's, to have offended you for coming into your business to spend money on food they make better at Wawa to be treated like an irritant for not knowing you don't accept credit cards in 2022. Maybe if you concentrate on at least being civil to your customers you will make more money and have less of a terrible reputation."
"Heaven! Best cheesesteak in Philly! Tried all the hype but Sorrentinos is the real deal. And real Philly soft pretzels! I'm planning on proposing to the lovely lady who made my sandwich! So good."
"Terrific place for the money and location! If you find yourself in the area and crave a good ol' fashioned cheesesteak, then Philly Cheesesteaks will hit the spot.Very friendly service. The person working the counter said she was the owner's daughter. She told us about how she had gone on a cross country road trip, trying to hit as many states as possible. They have license tags from various states hanging up. It was a cool environment and super welcoming. My sister and brother in law were visiting from Kentucky, and she just made them feel right at home! The onion rings might be the best onion rings I've ever had. I'd go out of my way to get those onion rings again. Outstanding."
"Honestly speaking, on the path less travelled, Jim's West Steaks is a great find. I had recently read that Jim's West was an experiencing a rebirth under new leadership so off I went. This cheesesteak was L-O-A-D-E-D! After placing my order the chef got started on my order and seeing how much steak she loaded onto the grill, it was definitely impressive. She just grabbed a handful of steak over her head to the grill and started cooking asap. I asked for two steaks, one with provolone, mushrooms, and onions, the other with wiz, both came filled to the brim with steak. Definitely go for a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper at the end for better flavor, and surprisingly, for me anyway, I was asked distinctly if I wanted mayo, so I said why not. A dash of ketchup was the final addon to this Philly treat. The final verdict, tender chopped juicy steak, no gristle, not too cheesy (which I prefer), nicely cooked and not overdone. I definitely rank this is as a Philly best. For about $12-$14 a steak this was not just tasty but economical as well. Now, this was a bit off the beaten path for sure and the neighborhood, well, get your steak and go. There isn't much eat in space anyway. The good news is that a great cheesesteak will stay a great cheesesteak for a while."
""Wait, which is the pizzeria everyone loves? Lorenzo's in the Italian Market or Lorenzo & Sons on South Street?""I think it's the one on South.""Oh yeah....Hold on, I'm thinking of Lazaro's on South Street. I'm confused."And so we set out to try them all on a pizza crawl. We shared a cheese slice at each stop in order to pace ourselves. Lorenzo's was our last stop. I don't think I'd ever had their pizza before. After the gargantuan slices oozing with cheese at the other two places, Lorenzo's slice was aesthetically the least impressive. The slice was a reasonable portion--I can't call it small--and was just $2.50. (An XL 18" pie is only $14.)But what it lacked in looks this slice made up for in flavor. We both liked it best of the three. The sauce was the secret weapon. I found something comforting and familiar about it. It wasn't sweet and had more tomato flavor. You could also see the herbs and spices on the slice, which improved the flavor. The crust was a bit thicker than the others but was crispy and good."
"Stopped by with my dog to order an Italian hoagie a few months back and was stopped by the lady at the cashier's counter. Silly me didn't realize dogs were not allowed inside. Even though we couldn't go inside, the lady at the counter offered to take my order at the door. While we waited for my hoagie order to be made, my dog and I went for a short walk. We came back 15 minutes to pick up my hoagie. As we waited by the front door, the same lady asked if I would like some dog treats for my dog, which I thought was super sweet! She gave me a couple of dog treats and my dog gobbled them up immediately. After we got back home, I unwrapped my hoagie to eat it. The bread was not thick (like Primo Hoagies). The hoagie was stuffed sufficiently and not to the point where the sides would burst. It was the perfect size and with each bite, I got a bit of everything. I could taste the freshness of the cucumbers between the cold cuts. I was gonna just eat half a hoagie, but I couldn't help myself and ate the whole thing. Can't believe I've been sleeping on 3J's all these years. I'm definitely adding 3J's to my rotation of weekday lunches."
"First time in Philly. I have a client who's born and raised here. I asked her where I should get a cheesesteak since I was only in town one night...Pat's or Geno's she said neither. Dalessandro's was her recommendation. She said it was the best in town. I got a mushroom steak with American cheese and Whiz and I added sweet and hot peppers, a little mayo and sautéed onions. It was the best cheesesteak I've ever had in my life! I also enjoyed a delicious Hanks, orange cream soda to go with it. Loved it! My wife ordered a pepper cheesesteak with onions, the sharp provolone and mayo. She did not get the sweet peppers that she ordered. She felt that her sandwich was pretty bland and she was disappointed. I offered her a few bites of my sandwich which she loved and regretfully stated that is what she should've ordered because her sandwich was very bland."
"Amazing spot, tons of great options. This is so needed for my family who all wants something different. Our go to spot."

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Best sandwiches we have had on our entire vacation. These are huge, packed with flavor, and the meat is tender and juicy.Service was incredible! The food was made fast. The owner/chef came out to check on how we liked our meal. The bartender was upbeat and cheery. They gave us tons of helpful info about where we were headed next on our trip. Ambiance is nice little mom and pop kind of vibe. Very relaxed environment. Great people and wonderful food! If you are around the area you have to stop in and try these sandwiches!!

Outstanding wings. And I mean, outstanding. I had a neighbor recommend Not Just Wings to me - they said they're the best wings in Delco. That sounded like something I had to see for myself. Had to argue. The first time I had Not Just Wings, it was a day that a Cat 1 hurricane rolled up the coast, and Greater Philly was about to experience heavy rain and high winds. I was home alone this weekend, so I decided to try Not Just Wings before the weather got bad. Put in my order for Hot BBQ, got them home *right before* the weather arrive, sat down at the dinner table, the rain and wind began, and I couldn't have cared less. I ate those wings as if I were a starving dog. Which was ironic, considering that my dog stared at me and drooled the entire time.Best wings I've ever had? Hard to say. But definitely in the conversation. They were big, thick, and robust. The sauce was good and sticky and just hot enough (could probably go a little hotter, tbh).4* because they're too pricey, IMO. But not too pricey to enjoy on occasion!

Happy to see a pizza shop back in the neighborhood. Even better since their pizza is really good! The pizza crust is a perfect thickness, the sauce is nice and flavorful and it's topped off with the right amount of cheese. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a great pizza in Phila.!

Was curious to try this place off of TooGoodToGo. I didn't realize there were multiple locations. I am guessing the St Joe's one was first but maybe Rising Sun was. Only this particular location seems to do TooGoodToGo . The steak was tasty. The seasoned/slightly spicy mustard was fine but not like omg gotta have it sorta deal. Parking is street parking. Service is quick and the staffer didn't want me to wait 21 minutes and trusted that I would swipe. English was not his first language but we were still able to communicate the necessities enough. Hard working people and very busy here. Great location to serve the local neighborhood here. They get 5 stars because I got a randomly good deal. I sense Del Rossi's cheesesteaks are better based on what I've read and heard but this place ain't too shabby. The regular price of a regular sized cheesesteak is around $16 and the deal was for $6. The quality I got for $6 randomly I consider phenomenal.

My 450th different cheesesteak!! I am very happy that I had my 450th different cheesesteak in a historic building. The two young men working could not have been nicer. I like that my Cheesesteak was $8, there was inside seating and a bathroom to wash my hands. I liked the roll even though I think it was too big for the amount of meat. It was a good amount of meat but the roll felt empty. I would have also liked more cheese and a little more flavor. Overall it was a good cheesesteak experience.

Best cheese steak I've had in Philly and I've had probably 10 different spots and this is by far the best Super friendly staff for our food quick and with a smile! Not much seating but was very clean I got a wit wiz and it was incredible! Will be back for sure makes the drive it is absolutely worth it!
Visit Restaurant Page"I'm sure these are not the only cheesesteaks in the Reading Market, but they were the ones I had and each bite was delicious. Lots of add-ons available. I opted for jalapeños, pickles, and banana peppers. Try to find a place to sit while you're waiting to pick up your sandwich."
"Pagano's is one of my favorite cheesesteak spots in Philly. Star ratings here could never really do it justice. I get the feeling that outsiders have always just viewed it as a neighborhood spot that sold darn good cheesesteaks and hoagies. To me is it better than some of the more popular touristy type cheesesteak places? Yes (looking at you Jim's, Pat's, and Geno's). Is it better than some of the very best cheesesteak spots in the City of Brotherly Love? (Ishkabibble's, D'alessandro's) It is hanging right with them. The steak is so flavorful and juicy. Seasoned just right and a lot of meat. Like among the most offered in the city that is also good. My order is "wit with wiz and provolone, add Mayo and ketchup." The cooking is perfect and watching the griddle cooks work is like watching Basquiat paint. I love the Philly straight to the point type service too. Very direct but always with respect. But I buried the lead, the cold hoagies are also on point! My favorite is the tuna hoagie with all the accoutrements. Just so damn good, especially the mayonnaise heavy moist tuna made like how my grandmother use to make (rest her Philadelphia native soul). I only wish that they offered fried fish or griddled salmon "cheesesteaks." The prices are set for us working class folks to truly afford. All the primping and extras are 86'ed to bring an authentic North Philly classic hood (the best of what "hood" means -- family ties, friends, respect, looking out for your neighbors, great food, good times, and uplifting culture) experience. Two lines once inside, one for hot food one for cold hoagies. You can see all your sandwiches being made with is like performance art. Don't pass up the dessert display either. I can certainly afford the prices but not the extra calories of dessert, so I passed. Clean interior (clean griddle too) and hospitable staff...as long as you are not holding up the line. If you need a moment or help, ask precise questions or step back in the line. Regulars know their orders and can get "impatient" if you gum up the works.North Philly stand up. Pagano's slid through and earned five stars. In my D.C. accent asking my Philly college attending son "let go down that Pagano's jawn" is as touristy as ever. But it is our thing. Five stars, easy!!!!"
"I'm often at work, forgetting my lunch in the fridge trying to explore options nearby. While I've been met with disappointment on a few occasions, CityView has been a saving grace. I wish I took pictures of all of my meals from here over my time in this new location, but I haven't. I appreciate them, the excellent service I always receive, and quality food."
"This is more of a convenience store that happens to sell food. It is owned and managed by an Asian family. It is located in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood and is close to the airport. There is a private lot off to the side of the building that the store is located. There is also street parking located within a reasonable walking distance. The staff there was friendly enough, even though my interaction with them was limited. The store has all that you would want in a convenience store including scratch offs, beer, soda, juice, chips, and candy. It appeared very cluttered and dirty. There were boxes all over the floor. You will find a couple of booth tables in the store's small dining area. The booths were in bad shape and I had to weave between some boxes to get to them. It was nice to have the dine in option though because I had caught a bus to get her from my hotel. This place serves burgers, sandwiches, wings, fish, fries hoagies and steak and cheeses. I ordered the Jerk chicken cheesesteak sandwich, with a side of fries. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my food. It was fresh and and delicious. It was packed with flavor and there was a ton of food. While I was there, they were receiving a a shipment of drinks, which caused them to leave the front door open. On a normal day this would not have been an issue, but it was a very cold day and I was freezing while I ate in the dining. area. I finished my food quickly to get out of there. This place has some very good food, but the location and cleanliness and order of the place is purely wretched. I was willing to accept that, but some people may not and so this review is just to make you aware."
"While visiting the City of Brotherly Love we asked our Uber driver where the best cheesesteak is located. She told us we had to go here. All the locals say to stay away from the two famous ones (G &P) as they are not good just tourist traps! Duly noted so we went here! This is our second experience as our first was at a place in Old Town. This place stuffs the hoagie full of freshly cooked piping hot delicious meat! This was much better than the other one we had tried and cost was better too! Down side is there is extremely limited seating inside. Two counters that have four barstools at each counter but you would be really squished and eating with your elbows touching if you sat four people there. We took one whole counter for just the two of us and it was a good amount of space we didn't feel squished at all. Over all I definitely recommend this place and I can confidently say, you won't be disappointed!"
"We visited Little Italy and stopped at the Visitor Center and asked the lady there where the locals go to eat their Philly Cheesesteaks and she mentioned this place as the place to go to. This is not a sit down restaurant, they have a window where you order your food and then you either take it to go or you find a sidewalk table or bench to have you meal. We chose to go around the corner and just sat at a church stairs and have our lunch. My girlfriend ordered the tripe sandwich and I went with the Philly Cheesesteak. Both sandwiches were unbelievably good. My cheesesteak was so flavorful and cheesy with onions, and my girlfriend essentially said the tripe was similar to the way she makes tripe at home. Bottom line, the next time I go back I will hit this spot again!!"
"The buffalo chicken pizza love their pizza and all the variety. Love that you can order your fries extra crispy, crispy perfection even when doing takeout. The plant filled interior is bright and always smells delicious"
"Dinic's Pork & Beef down in the Navy Yard is unbeatable when it comes to a juicy roast pork sandwich. I crave it almost on the daily - it differs from the Reading Terminal Market location in that it also offers breakfast and has cheesesteaks on the menu as well. I have also tried their cheesesteak sandwich and it's also really incredible (I would say one of the best in Philly too when it comes to overlooked places!).The roast pork sandwich is huge, and comes with heaping portions of sliced pork that is just dripping with flavor. Definitely be prepared with a ton of napkins. Also, make sure to order it with their sharp provolone and homemade horseradish - the combination really can't be beat. The pork is tender and has a nice peppered flavor to it as well. The price for what you get is amazing, and it's perfect to takeout during the pandemic. I would say however try to eat it on the spot if possible - the bread does get soaked through pretty quickly with how juicy the pork is. If you're getting cheesesteaks, you don't have to worry as much about that. I would trek all the way down to the Navy Yard literally just to pick up their sandwiches the next time I have a craving. I hope the other location is just as good as they are, and will definitely have to try the Reading Terminal one, but I do slightly prefer this location again because of the greater variety on the menu."
"We found this no frills, small kabob restaurant off the highway on one of our road trips to DC when we pulled over for gas. If you know about kabob spots, you know little spots like this pack that flavor! We decided on the Chicken Tika and Beef Kofta With rice as well as the Chicken Tika which wasn't on the menu but they were kind enough to accommodate since the wife doesn't eat beef. Our meals were wonderful, as expected. The spices were perfect and our dishes came with two different types of rice. The most memorable to me was the cilantro rice. As a Latina who loves cilantro, I've never had rice like this. It was sooo flavorful!! Overall, the service and food were delish!! We'll always stop here on our trips if we pass through Delaware."
"YOOOOOOOOOO If you are looking for a great sandwich at a good price, head on down to the works. There sandwiches are delish and fries are awesome. Tried them for Lent for their Tuna Hoagies. Hoagies were more than filling and the bread they used was fresh. Also had fries and they were seasoned, really didn't need any ketchup. Will patronize again; definite recommend...Will include photos of our sandwiches."
"Small parking area in front; strong Philly vibe! Extensive cheesesteak options. I went with the "Franky Cheech" (mushroom, fried o's, longhots, aged provolone) on a sesame seeded torpedo, that may have been Liscio's. The shop itself was brightly painted with large sports mural on one wall. Service was equally bright and cheery and patient while I eyed the list of names and descriptions of the steak and cutlet sandwiches. It was still hot when I unwrapped it at the kitchen table. I cut it into quarters to share with lovely bride, squirted a thin stream of ketchup on top and dove in. First bite told the tale. Large load of chopped beef mixed with onions and longhots with cheese across the bottom. It was steamy as I took the plunge; fogging my glasses instantly. Taste was quite good and the ingredients revealed themselves to my tongue. The ketchup did add a nice tartness, even though I knew I was breaking the rules about adulterants. Didn't care. My meal after all. Would definitely run back for another. Surprised the drive was less than 20 minutes."
"Quiet possibly the best kept secret in West Philly. When I became a pescatarian I thought I'd never eat anything else that came close to the delicious taste of a cheese steak, but I was wrong. The salmon cheesesteak here is next level. The bread is always delicious, although you never know if you're going to get wheat or white bread. There is also a special sauce that they add in that really sets the whole sandwich off to another level. I can also vouch for the Mac and cheese. It's super cheesy and very well done. There's also always a bit of a crispy layer of cheese on top which is a sure fire sign that you're getting authentic baked Mac and cheese. I honestly can't vouch for anything else on the menu because I've ordered from here about ten times and I only get the salmon-cheesesteak and Mac and cheese. But if those dishes are any indication of the rest of the menu, then you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!"
"I've been a fan of Delassandro's for decades. I try to make there every time I am in town. This trip my coworker said I really should try Mama's. So we went there for lunch and I have to say I may have a whole new number one!We got the half or small size which as you can see is huge!! Their bread is probably the best I've had!! The ONLY thing that is keeping me from rating the best is they have a proprietary cheese blend they use. I like a combo of cheese whiz and provolone so I missed that flavor. But make NO mistake this is one outstanding sandwich!!!"
"Tucked away in an adorable courtyard plaza, Gooey Looie's can be tough to find. But it's worth finding-- residual if you're really, really hungry. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge. The hoagie was packed with cold cuts. Husband loved it. The cheesesteak was HUGE. It's not greasy but not dry. It's a reliable cheesesteak.Bring cash. Staff are really nice. They have tables outside of the weather is good and you need to eat ASAP."
"I've come to Bubby's for many years for breakfast and lunch until my job moved to another section of the City. Now I so miss everything Bubby. I happened to be in the area for a meeting and said I just had to stop and get one of my favorites from Bubby's - the chicken cutlet hoagie. You watch the plentiful cutlets being breaded on the spot before being fried and placed in the hoagie roll with any trimmings and cheese you may want. They also do awesome Philly cheesesteaks, hot sausages, hot dogs, and you name the breakfast sandwich and he can probably make it. They also have the sides like fries or onion rings. Or maybe oatmeal or grits. The homemade lemonade is the bomb. Bubby's is so much better than any Wawa. The place is super small and there's no tables...just enough room for about six to wait standing inside the sliding glass door if it's cold and windy or rainy. You have to be patient as lines sometimes get long, but moves quickly. Prices are very reasonable.CASH ONLY! Boy, do I miss Bubby's. I wish he opened up near me! That homemade chicken cutlet hoagie was superb. Yum!"
"This is a good, local Mt airy/Germantown deli that's good for a nice sandwich at lunch. I got the Reuben and it wasn't the best but it was good for what is was."
"What is this, a spite store?! Of all the locations in Philly, Gino's had to open across the street to a place with their title being the "King" of steaks?! I can picture in the business meeting:Let's make our cheesesteaks a dollar less AND accept credit cards! We'll stick it to old man Pat! HahaHey, if you want a cheesesteak then you've come to the right neighborhood. Ginos is like the cola wars, either you like Pepsi or Coke. These options are good to have in the world according to me. And I'm sure there are people like myself who bought from both locations and had a taste test. I did like the packaging from Ginos. The cheesesteak, once again Gynormas! You can feed a family with this sandwich. Me personally? I thought the meat was a little less seasoned than the other spot.Overall, it's a clean spot that accepts credit cards and is a dollar cheaper. There are tables outside if you wish to enjoy your cheesesteak. PS - the Italian market in Rocky II is around the corner."
"Great quality food, friendly service, and fast turnaround. They also deliver. You won't be disappointed."
"Slow service, almost like time is standing still. Standing by the door waiting for the order adds some "nice" ambiance to this place. (Glad to see I'm not the only tourist here!)I had a cheesesteak here a couple years ago, liked it and had no issue with the portion size. Not sure what happened since then, maybe inflation and shrinkflation are at play. Regardless, there was barely any meat on the roll. What else can I say other than "that sucks" and choose not to order there again. Too many other choices to try than to stop here again."
"Extremely pricey and they forgot to give me my side sauces on a late order for a stromboli, but this was the last place open at night so making the journey for the greek stromboli was the only option. I've had a lot of strombolis in the past few weeks, but this one was a great mix of freshness, sauciness, while not being too oily. The size was pretty big, but I've had large 'bolis for way less in price the last few times. Pros are the open hours and the quality, but expect to pay the price for the convenience."
"Great cheesesteaks and breakfast food. I haven't tried any of the other food, so my review is based solely on that. The owners and employees are very nice, and know my orders."
"I was camping with my good lady and fancy getting pizza one night. So we phoned in a order. We picked it up the staff here are very friendly. Got back to the camp site to eat the pizza it was pepperoni and mushroom. Delicious , amazing it tastes so good. Will be coming back here. Great job tasty pizza"
"Solid steaks. Great bread that's pretty thin and hallowed out so you can taste the meat. Steak has smaller ribbons and has a good juicy bite when you go in. Overall, would come back. They also take credit card."
