"I visited Munchie's Cafe with a few co-workers to get some lunch. Munchie's is nothing out of the ordinary, but is a lunch spot where you order at a counter. They have dozens of options at Munchie's that are available for order - they are listed on the overhead menus. Once you order, you get a slip and pay at the front. Towards the front they have a number of cookies and candies at the checkout and a TV, too. When checking out, it took a little while to get my food, but after a little bit of a wait, it came out.I got the portobello mushroom panini, which was a pressed sandwich of portobello mushrooms mozzarella and pesto. There is not a ton of seating inside Munchie's. Therefore, we ate the sandwiches in Independence Square Park and the sandwich was nicely wrapped and still warm by then.Altogether, Munchie's Cafe is nothing spectacular, but it is a decent lunch spot in Philadelphia."
"Bower Cafe on Walnut is a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Coffee, friendly service, and early hours? I'm down.Sit window-side and people watch, or relax in their main dining area. High ceilings, natural lighting, and artistic touches add up to a welcoming space. Bring a date, bring friends, or talk business in a corner. There's room for a light crowd, so don't be shy.Besides coffee, you can find cold drinks in the fridge - think sparkling water, draft lattes, etc. Hungry? They've got pastries and sandwiches made-to-order.Find Bower Cafe at 1213 Walnut. Credit accepted, including contactless.FYI they're currently soft opening so review details may be inaccurate."

I had the Greek omelette and while very tasty was a bit runny for my liking. I upgraded to a small side salad rather than toast. It was fresh and delicious. I would definitely go back and if I ordered another omelette, I would just request it be cooked a little bit more. Definitely worth a visit!!"
"Two Eagles can be found in a quieter section of Point Breeze, not found along any major roadways. So, make it a point to go over there - it's worth every second.I like the aesthetic of the location: it's small, quiet, but still has a decent amount of seating for the space it occupies. It's decorated nicely, and I enjoy staring at everything on the walls. I stopped in, ordered some avocado toast and a latte and some other small items, and was very pleased with my total cost at the end. I feel like I've made similar orders at cafes only to pay much more for what I paid for here.I've been there a few times now, and I've been greeted by a different person each time, and they're all incredibly warm and friendly. This also makes Two Eagles that much more appealing.Highly recommend."
"While Christmas shopping I was looking for a place that was quick, a good selection and some seating to recharge and eat! This cafe fits the bill, perfectly. Order at the kiosk and grab a seat in one of the tables. Ordered Spicy Philly Panini which lived up to the billing. Quite a bite of heat with this sandwich of spicy chicken, bacon, avocado and cheese. A big meal for $11. The chicken shawarma wrap is fresh and flavorful. Great cappuccino and cafe Americano. For a quick bite that is quality, you are here!"
"Went there for the first time and had brunch. Good experience and great service. Had a good chai tea latte as well. The building was very cute with the exposed brick and they had merchandise to sell. Would def recommend."
"Had an awesome breakfast, friendly staff, French toast - the crunchy kind was excellent and so was everything else! Will be sure to return, so nice there is a great breakfast place around- my compliments to the whole staff & owner!!"
"Omg I LOVE this little gem. I'm a huge fan of Korean fan and to find a place that sells kimbab is a huge win. The snack varieties are off the charts too. I will be back next weekend, and make it here every chance I get. Great customer service and the food is really good! I got kimbab, and some sweets."
"Nice to see a bubble tea shop inside the mall! Friendly service! We got the strawberry sherbet smoothie- pretty good but you can def taste the yogurt. Cost about 5 bucks. Also there is a $5 min for credit cards. They have a variety of items on the menu as well as small snacks you can purchase. There can be a mini line esp since there was only one person working the day we went."
"Great little spot down the street from my childhood friends place. Family run for espresso, salads and a sandwich. Super friendly customer service and several tables to sit while enjoying your food and beverages. Top notch customer service. Treat yourself you deserve it."
"Nice coffee shop with excellent coffee. I wish they had more offerings. Almost no cookies or anything else. I was a bit disappointed I wanted something besides my ice coffee. The cold brew was as good as it gets but it was almost $4 for a pretty small cup. The service was very good and the space is very pretty."
"This is absolutely one of the best breakfast spots around! The staff is nice enough and they have outdoor dining on those nice days you feel like some fresh air with your food. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is a favorite of mine. They have a lot of healthy options and the pricing is reasonable. I love coming here."

Great earlier hours as many places closer to Broad don't open till 11 AM. Refreshing healthy and flavorful smoothie for a super hot day. The kitchen and staff area is particularly small and no real privacy. I presume this place has a bathroom if I needed it but I didn't see one.Staff are friendly:Pastries are reasonably delicious with different flavors to choose from.

I ended up in Malvern and was very happy to see Julie Anne's Place's 4.7 google maps rating. I haven't had the best luck in Malvern but things may be starting to change. 1st, $5.43 for a scrapple, egg and cheese on toast. You know I love that. And, that is after an 18 cent non cash surcharge. Very cheesy. Everyone was very happy. Cool bathroom. Video of bathroom in full video. Now if I can get Dave Bramwell to return my calls life would be good.

This is a wonderful treat for Point Breeze, Albanian at heart, which is quite unique, but with a ton of other American favorites like cheese steaks and breakfast sandwiches. The food here is fresh and consistently good. Today I got the chicken breast club, which was huge and delicious, and the fries reminded me of Belgian frites - they were still crisp and hot after I brought them home. The family that owns this restaurant are super friendly and the service is always above par. They treat us like friends every time we go in. The front dining area is super cozy and comfortable, and there is an expanded dining area in the back. I always look forward to coming here!

One of the best matcha lattes I've had in the city! The bulgogi wrap was also amazing. There was a little bit of a wait, but I didn't mind because the food was great. Can't wait to come back!

Food, service, and ambience were awesome. They moved next to Songsan and have added a lot to their menu. Everything from jajang dukbokki (for those who can't eat spicy) to tuna kimbap to fried chicken was delicious! Of course the mango bingsu was the highlight!
Visit Restaurant Page"tl;dr this quaint West Philly cafe hosts a daily assortment of empanadas and Argentinian pastriesJezabel Careaga's store-and-cafe has been widely lauded by critics and amateur foodies alike. The multi-purpose space expands across the first floors of 3 adjacent row homes, accentuating the intimate and homey feels of each room. The space is minimalistic, with unadorned white plaster walls, sleek wooden furnishings, and accent planting. Afternoon sunlight blasts through the large bay windows. Stick to the bakery display room to grab-and-go, or venture into the further rooms to sit and snack. The middle room is highlighted by an open kitchen -- designed for cooking lessons -- with a large center island surrounded by industrial ovens and tall shelves of ingredients and glassware. Wooden booths are complemented by velvet pillows, and the tables are each decked with a woven napkins basket. Further inward, the third room is sprinkled with home goods and local crafts. My partner and I arrived for late lunch on a weekday, and the air was quiet and relaxed. We browsed the pastry counter and opted for a variety of that piqued our interest, including empanadas, mafaldas (medialunas with ham and cheese), Escabeche de Berenjena (Italian pickled eggplant), and chimichurri. Of note, the 'menu' was unclear, even within the restaurant -- our strategy was to guesstimate an appropriately filling assortment of goods. All of the pastries were heated to order, recapturing a warmth and flakiness at the expense of drying out -- a risk soundly mitigated by the sides. The moderately large bowl of chunky eggplant, peppered with spice and served cold, provided a nice acidity to balance out the rich empanadas. On the other hand, the chimichurri was strongly cilantro-y and, while adding a pleasant texture and aroma to pastry-heavy bites, was otherwise forgettable. Each empanada sported a unique, intricate wrapping design. The Fugazza (leeks, sweet onions, and cheese) was the highlight of our meal, with a dynamic array of flavors and textures. In a close second was the Humita (spicy corn and cheese), accented by the pop of sweet corn complemented by rich, stringy cheese. Less memorable were the Carne (spicy ground beef) and Pollo (spicy shredded chicken and olives) varieties; while both were stuffed generously with meat, the flavors were less innovative. Finally, the mafaldas were loaded heavily (or, as generously as a small medialuna can withstand) with slices of sweet ham and cheese, then baked until melty. The service was friendly and laid-back. As a whole, our items ranged from ok to great, and our meal fell short of being truly satiating. At $28 (after tax and tip), our check totaled on the pricier side for cafe fare. While the relaxed vibes and authentic eats are well worth an occasional visit, I don't see Jezabel's entering my regular routine."
"Small cute restaurant in North Philly, pleasant cashier. I ordered a veggie egg white omelet and pancakes. My omelette was wet that was fine, pancakes were burnt in places I had to cut off the burnt parts. Here's my thing batter is cheap and pancakes don't take long to make throw the burnt pancakes away and make new b beautiful ones. I would try them out again I like the idea that they've put a beautiful place in a not so eye pleasing area. I recommend this place!! Oh! I also like that they have vegan options!"
"In Philadelphia for a work conference, with time to eat my way around town! A search on Yelp brought me to Cafe La Maude. It was almost 2 a two mile walk from where I was staying, near Liberty Bell. The streets are narrow and parking is limited, fyi. Walking in and sat immediately at the open table near the window. Solo travel for the win! I wanted to have something local so I opted for the Baklawa pancakes. Not only are these pancakes a pleasure for the tastebuds, they are also a work of art! No butter or syrup were added or needed for that matter. The pancakes were fluffy and moist, each bite paired with a sprinkling of crushed almonds in between. Now listen, hear me out, have you ever had a moment of complete defeat? This was my moment. I had maybe a quarter of these pancakes and could not continue, they were so filling but I did not want to put my fork down. The location is in a residential area, without very many shops or much else to do, that I saw. But the hood was cute. As I was writing this review, I had to check out their website, they are on Yelp's top breakfast & brunch list for 2024. Go get some!"
"Love this adorable local coffee shop!I am doing a show at a theater a few blocks away and this has become a go-to for me and my cast. The service is always fast, there are a good amount of seating options, and everything I tried is delish! It is a great spot to grab a coffee, bring your laptop, and get some work done. I had the iced latte and avocado ricotta toast at my most recent visit. The latte was great as always. I LOVE their avocado ricotta toast! The olive oil and red pepper flakes are a nice addition and it is beautifully presented. I would get this again and again!"
"Such a cute new coffee shop in the Queen Village neighborhood (connected to the new Yowie Hotel). We were visiting Philly this weekend and just happened to stumble upon it while walking around the area, and I'm so glad we did! It has a super clean minimalist design with some great coffee and toast options. We tried the iced ube latte and the salted caramel latte -- we both really enjoyed our drinks! We also tried the summer tomato toast with ricotta and the smoked salmon toast which were fresh and delish. Overall a great little cafe and addition to the neighborhood!"
"Amsale serves the best Ethiopian food I've had in Philly. Very small and casual. We had the Door Que Wat- which for me was the best. I couldn't stop eating it and I'm still thinking about it. The flavors were deep and well developed. We had the lamb tibs, which comes with a dipping sauce. We also ordered the Kitfo- raw, but with spices and ghee- which is served with a side of farmers cheese. You can also order it cooked. We also got a ton of veggies- cabbage, lentils, peas, carrots and beans. And tons of Injera which tasted like it was really made with teff. Dinner for 4, plus a 2 year old came to $87- so affordable these days. I wish I remembered to take pics. We will definitely be going back."
"YUM! Stumbled into the Tasty Toast and I am so glad that I did. I got the Rainbow Mermaid which was a peach, strawberry mango juice (I think I'm missing another ingredient) but it was so delicious! It was sweet, refreshing and they put banana and strawberries slices in it! So good. Also, not pictured... my sandwich that I devoured. So, I got the bacon melt and it was also amazing. Eggs, bacon, creamy melted cheese. You can't go wrong. The service wad friendly, but just a little on the slower side (they had a ton of online orders). Would highly recommend this spot, just order ahead!"
"Good food and friendly staff. Waits can be longer when the weather is nice, but that just speaks to the quality of the food."
"We dropped by 260 Bridge Cafe this weekend and it's a nice bakery and coffee shop. They have a good selection of bakery items and coffee drinks. The store is clean and bright, so we got carried away a little and bought 10+ bakery items. The ones we tried are all pretty nice. Now some not-good parts, when we got in there is already a long line and it was moving pretty slowly. The ordering process is not efficient, as you can see from the photo, the food display is on one side but you need to order on the other side. So if you are ordering a lot of items, it's hard to remember all. And someone else will be bagging your item, which can introduce the wrong items. The price is also a little on the expensive side...."
"Sunday morning brunch time- Place is packed!!! I ordered cold brew coffee and my partner ordered OJ.We ordered huevos rancheros and key west omelette. Tasted like sour cream that went bad. I hope it wasn't. I'm just not sour cream person. It was different than I remembered. Visual was good and the server was attentive Food could be better though"
"Super hungry after having dropped my niece off at Philly International, I checked Yelp for a breakfast place and UP popped Sparky's!Yes, It is close the airportYes, It is a hidden gem that in all my travels in that area I had never stumbled upon. Yes, you may freak out a bit on the ride back to where it is off Calcon Hook Road. A bit about that road folks: I was told as a kid to never go on or even near " The Calcon Hook Road". As a kid, the word "Hook" was enough to keep me away. As an adult, the ride on the bumpy road lined with rusted, industrial oil tanks and a creepy cemetery were initially discouraging but I am glad i drove on because the creepiness got even better. As I got closer to Sparky's I saw lots of discarded junk in the fields, abandoned buildings etc. Big Score for the adventure junky in me!!.Thankfully, I had read the reviews stating its hidden location and most of the clientele were students/instructors from the Emergency Service Training facility that shares the same real estate because who would have ever known a Breakfast and Lunch spot would be out here?Once at Sparky's the parking lot was clean and safe.Inside it is no frills but clean. Imagine your grandmother's formica kitchen tables :-) The tables are big with ample space between diners. And yet not so far to not be able to interact with the nice locals. Patrons tended to be friendly and conversive with one another and welcoming to a stranger. Besides servicing the Training facility this was a happy place for many locals. Meal: I had the breakfast special which was 3, Yes Three eggs, delectable homefries, toast, meat- I chose scrapple, and a beverage for $4.99. I chose a soda over a hot beverage on this July day and I was not charged more for my choice. Imagine that!!! I loved my meal. The owner, Who is also the cook is a very nice and warm person. From the interactions I saw he is very intune with each of his customers. He knows their preferences. Me being new, he chatted me up for a bit and it was enjoyable. I loved my breakfast within this friendly atmosphere. I have suggested this place to friends who I know will try and I also will be back. Next time I'll try the $6.99 Lunch Special The moral of my dining story is this: - Don't judge a book by its cover ( in this case location) - Always keep an open mind when dining."
"The Caribou Café has always been a favorite place to stop for a bite in the city. The restaurant is cozy and pretty, the food is always exquisitely delicious, and the service is routinely as pleasant as one could possibly hope. Last night, I was pleased to find that, although there are new owners, everything was just as wonderful as I have always found it to be. Our experience was completely delightful. 3/7/24"
"I absolutely love coming here, it is so peaceful. They have amazing art displayed all over the cafe as well as a Piano and a Guitar for anyone to play. Their bathroom is also spacious, clean and well equipped. We went for our morning coffee today. Tried the cheese danish which was super flaky, buttery and had a mild sweet cheesecake filling. Very tasty if you ask me! The barista went above and beyond by serving it warm - I feel like nobody does that anymore. I also love the fact that she added shredded coconut rim to the White Coconut Mocha - which was delicious by the way. And the addition of chocolate sprinkle on my Mocha! These little details tell you how much she enjoys and respects her work. They are kind of hidden and like another reviewer said, it is easy to miss them if you don't know where to look. I wish they moved to Society hill area, I feel like they will get much more appreciation and traction there which will be good for their business."
"I'm so excited I found the Juice Pod! I have worked in Exton for over 7 years and have struggled to find somewhere with healthy, fast breakfast options nearby. There are a ton of smoothie and smoothie bowl options. I have tried 2 different green smoothies so far and they were both delicious! It's a little expensive, but to find a healthy, good quality smoothie to me is worth it! I tried a coffee last time I was there as well, and I didn't love it. I prefer light to medium roast flavorful coffee, and this was definitely a dark roast. It wasn't bad, just not for me. I did appreciate that they had oat milk and could make me a cafe au lait. They also have great sounding salads, paninis and some other lunch options. Definitely going to give those a try in the future! I think there location is a little hard to find, I found it because I was searching for nearby coffee on apple maps and it popped up. I hope the word gets spread about their location and I think they could benefit from marketing to nearby businesses."
"This Stephen Starr pop-up restaurant opened recently (6/21/2022) in front of the Comcast center, directly across from where my wife works. She said it looked like an oasis--it's surrounded by beautiful trees and plants--and after seeing all the classic French favorites on the menu, I couldn't wait to check it out. Normally it can be difficult to get a reservation, but going on the Friday night of the July 4th holiday weekend certainly solved that problem.Note: this restaurant is only open weekdays!Given the plethora of Parisian plates (some very similar to what Parc offers), I had a hard time deciding what to order first, so I started off with East Coast Oysters on the Half Shell, and have to say they're the best I've ever had! The cocktail sauce had shreds of incredibly fresh horseradish sprinkled on top, a detail that really brought it to the next level. My wife had the Shrimp Cocktail, which looked amazing. I didn't sample it but she said it was fabulous.I followed with a Niçoise salad, a longtime favorite of mine: I still remember my first ever in its birthplace of Nice, France. So I had high expectations and I have to say that this one really hit all the marks. It's quite large so perhaps plan to share it. Alas, my wife doesn't eat anchovies, but let it be said that the anchovies in this salad are the ultra high quality ones you'd actually get in France, with a delicate flavor and none of the fishy saltiness of the normal variety. For dessert, our server told us about three different options: 1) Pair of éclairs (chocolate and vanilla); 2) Creme Caramel; or 3) Strawberries with Chantilly creme. My wife ordered the Creme Caramel and positively devoured it, but that was OK since I was fully enamored with my very ample portion of strawberries on bed of ultra-light whipped creme. We definitely will be going back to try their other offerings . Kudos also to the very attentive, friendly and personable staff."
"I really enjoyed Rosy's cafe. Unlike the full restaurant next door, the portions are huge for what you pay. The service is quite quick, perfect for a pre-work bite to eat at a little more leisurely of a pace than the standard food truck or Starbucks bagel and CC. Everything is made on the spot and can out with the most warm, fluffy tortillas--too good. The steak was flavorful and not too heavy, although this is quite a large breakfast compared to most, so come hungry! The coffee was lovely as well, and they have full options for almond milk, creamer, etc. It's a great idea and a great operation, and I'd definitely return when I wanted a quick but not super quick breakfast. Only enough room for about a dozen diners at once, but pretty quiet inside when I visited."
"Delicious food and nice service. Sat outside on such a beautiful day. Good hours. Only place we could find open with as many vegetarian options. So glad we stumbled upon it."
"Easy online ordering process, delicious açaí bowls, and lots of customizations make this SoBol a winner in my book. I haven't tried a ton of the bowl-style chains in the area as I tend to make fairly delish smoothies and bowls from home when the craving hits, but grabbing lunch delivery totally hit the spot. I appreciate the use of agave in their standard açaí bowl - perfect amount for a not-overly-sweet experience. You can add all kinds of things like peanut butter, fruit, etc, but keeping the classic as is was fabulous. I appreciated the speedy delivery and the fact that my bowl was still frozen perfection upon arrival to my home. I imagine they do a great large order service as well in the event you're looking to mix up your office lunch or breakfast. Will order again!"
"On our annual Philly party trip, we lucked up and found Green Eggs Cafe just steps away from our hotel (Royal Sonesta). If I lived in Philly, this would be one of my favorite breakfast spots for sure. We didn't have reservations but we were able to snag a couple seats at the very large bar. Green Eggs is deceptively large, with a whole separate section to the rear. As far as brunch food goes, Green Eggs can't be beat. My friend ordered the French toast sampler and I went for the Chicken eggs Benedict. I've never had that iteration of the Benny, man was that thang GOOOOOOD!!! My friend said the French toast sampler was better than any dessert he's ever had!The reason Green Eggs didn't squeeze a 5 out of me, for one, it's a cash only establishment. Who carries cash these days but they do have an ATM on site. Second, for some mind baffling reason, they have a manned hostess booth OUTSIDE in the freezing cold. Why in the world would they do that? It literally was 35 degrees the day we visited.Other than those two hiccups, we enjoyed Green Eggs Cafe thoroughly and we'll definitely be back next year!!"
"UPDATE: everything else still stands, but the rose and cardamom is now my favorite lassi. GET IT!Also props to the staff member working all by himself being absolutely slammed during porchfest. He was hustling and doing a great job with the food with a line out the door!"
"YUM YUM AND YUM!! Best breakfast meal I've had in years! And the staff was lovely. I wish I had took a pic of the food but I inhaled it. I'll be back for sure! PS- I had the fish and grits."
"I went to Guzo on my birthday on a whim and what a great choice! I was hungry for lunch knowing I had birthday dinner coming up, so my friend and I split the combo platter which was so tasty. Ethiopian food on this side of the Schuylkill river, and close to South Philly no less!! I also loved that she had Ethiopian iced tea; I enjoy Ethiopian spiced coffee but I also limit my caffeine, ha.The interior is right-sized in my opinion. There's a few tables, so we were able to sit down since that's what we were in the mood for, but this would be a really good place to get to-go when you're in the neighborhood, or to hang out at the park right across the street. They have Ethiopian food but also other options including beautiful pastries from Four Worlds bakery, so whatever time of day you go, it's a great pick. Definitely worth checking out and adding into your rotation!"
"I was visiting the area and some family recommended them for a brunch. This place was simply amazing. The atmosphere was eclectic. They had so many knickknacks. It's a place of wonderful bric-a-brac and oddities. The staff was so fast and efficient. They sat us quickly, took our drink orders, and offered suggestions on great local fare. The tables were covered with all different trinkets and great conversation starters. I was so delighted. The food came and was hot and delicious. The portions were huge, so please come hungry. They staff ensured we had plenty to drink and were satisfactorily fed. Nook and Kranny Kafe was so good we came back a second day. I would recommend everyone come and try this place out!"
