The best bun bo hue in philly!!!If you love spice and pho, but don't know what bun bo hue is, look it up! It's life changing. After discovering my new fav noodle soup, i've been on a mission to find the best in philly, and this place can't be beat. Their meat is so fresh and the broth makes your tastebuds do cartwheels. Even though the broth is great on its own, their chili oil takes it to another level. Their banh mi is also p darn good, and their lemon drink is super refreshing even in the winter. But forreal, you can't leave here without getting the bun bo hue.

This place is casual but great. If I lived nearby I would probably come here very often, but it's a place that I would not make a drive just to get food here. Everything we ordered was tasty but the banh mi was a little bit dry overall. The highlight was the Bun Bo Hue - packed with flavor and so hearty on a cold winter day. They were very nice to also accommodate your spice levels for the soup if you can't do too spicy.

I have been going to Cafe Nhan for years and have always enjoyed my meal here. There's only a few places in Philly that specialize in bún bò Huế and there are some things that make Cafe Nhan stand out. The đặc biệt option contains pork blood (a must) and they also have shrimp paste and chili sauce on the side if you want to add any. I love adding both as a salty and spicy girl, although the bbh is great as is. Service is good, although I find that appetizers usually come out after the main meal which doesn't bother me, but might bother someone else. Currently, this is my go-to bbh restaurant. This is a super casual restaurant with friendly staff.

I've heard many recommendations about Cafe Nhan from friends. At first impression, the place is very clean and small seating around 10 parties. The server was very friendly and fast. Ordered two noodle dishes along with a summer roll and the total came out to be $40 excluding tax. The bun bo hue soup broth felt like it was missing something. For the other noodle dish, there were too many noodles that we didn't end up finishing it. Additionally, the summer roll was packed with noodles that it canceled out all the flavors of the herbs and meat filling.

Tiny little pho shop with great food. It was a cold winter day and the BBH absolutely hit the spot. Although small, all the waitstaff were so nice and attentive. Someone came in to pick up an order and I watched them absolutely melt over her black lab and it was the cutest thing. The flavors are legit and if I lived closer I would be back!

This place exceeded my expectations as I'm spoiled by amazing Vietnamese food in the Bay Area. BBH is my usual order at any Vietnamese restaurant because I like to see how it compares to one of my favorite spots. Surprisingly, this place is pretty high on the list for me and is even better than some back home. I ordered the BBH with pork blood and it was flavorful and had a kick to it! I find it rare now a days because most places don't spice theirs as much but this definitely has the spice. Meat was very tender and juicy. Wish they added more cha Lau ( Vietnamese sausage). My bowl did have quite a bit of just fatty pieces instead of meat, but overall no complaints as everything else was up to par.Service was quick and it's a nice cozy little restaurant. Will definitely be back when I'm in Philly again

This place is amazing. While it is a very small space, you realize quickly how great this small restaurant is. There was a line out the door to get a seat. The owner was present and did a good job making sure everything ran smoothly. I had the Ca Ri Ga which was very tasty. I liked the use of coconut milk and chicken pieces that were attached at the bone. The chili oil was amazing. It was house made and didn't taste like the normal chili oil at restaurants. The use of chili oil made the dish the perfect amount of spice (head spice without a crazy amount of hot). The bread option is cheaper than the options with rice/noodles but the rice/noodle dish was bigger.

We were craving phở and wanted to mix it up (we, like most Philadelphians, have our favorite spots for Vietnamese noodle soups), so we finally took ourselves to West Passyunk Avenue to try Café Nhạn.Never mind its impeccable service (ready with menu guidance, as requested) and (relatively easy) street parking in the early evening on a Friday, we were impressed by the flavor packed into the Cha Gio (mixture of minced shrimp and pork rolled in spring roll paper and deep fried) and the variety of bánh mì, rice dishes, phở, and more on the menu. Both the Phở Dac Biet (beef based soup with sliced round-eye steak, beef brisket, beef meatballs, and tendon) and the Phở Dau Hu (tofu with phở broth) had great depth of flavor. When they learned we liked our food with some zing, we were given house-made hot pepper sauce, which really packed a punch! We noticed a few diners were greeted as regulars: like them, we intend to return!

Small spacing that gets rapidly packed and cramped during the day. This family run business shines in both the quality of their food and the respect they show their customers. The servers are nice and prompt. The food cooked and not preserved. They're the only Philly restaurant that serves ca ri ga (chicken curry), whether in ban mi (bread), rice (cum), or noodles (pho) variety. Note that the ban mi dish is smaller but cheaper. If you enjoy spicy dishes, request their in house chili sauce. This plus hoisin sauce adds an explosive spicy bundle of flavor that keeps you sweating but digging in for another bite.

One of my go to Vietnamese restaurants in the city. I usually get Bun rieu when I go but they're most known for the bun bo hue. Broth is so flavorful and always hits the spot. I don't really recommend the chicken or pork rice dish as the portions seem a bit small. They also chop up the meat into bite size pieces which is different than other Vietnamese restaurants. The summer rolls are definitely my favorite there!
