We dined at the Wayne location.We had intended to have brunch at White Dog Cafe Sunday 9.17.23 to celebrate a special occasion after visiting Chanticleer Gardens. We had no complaints. "Volver is a José Garcia restaurant located in the Sidney Kimmel Center. It's a really cool restaurant/bar for before and after performances. In fact, they have food specials for shows that go on. The bar is a cool half circle space with a robust menu. We ended up with a Cab sav and Pinot Grigio which were pretty tasty. The service was quick and the bartender didn't kick us out even though we stayed past closing."

Place is clean, though in the summer time the mosquitoes tend to linger by the seating areas, hard to fly out of those plastic dividers once they're in, I got bitten several times and there is nothing I can do to get away, I had to end my dinner early to take home and finish eating. The food is amazing. I give it 4 stars overall for taste and quality as well as quantity. The mussels were very flavorful. Unfortunately I'm not the biggest Mexican southwest fan, so I can't judge the taste of their food compared to other establishments of the same type. They have a window where you can order and pick up to go. Besides having a clean establishment with some solid list of food choices, I also think it's important for the business itself to have some form of ethic. I found my car one closing night when they pushed their heavy trash filled bin right in front of my driver side door. Luckily I'm able to slide myself in, otherwise I would have to climb in through the passenger side. Obviously the message I'm getting here is: don't park here. I understand that it's a business, but it's also in a residential neighborhood. Due to covid they are already taking up space from their outdoor seating, like other restaurants out there. If you're going to use space, at least be mindful of the situation: it's hard to find parking in this neighborhood. People gotta get home. There is so much corner space on the block to put the trash. Or against the wall/back door. Why would you thrust it up someone's car door?"

"Stopped in to experience the Happy Hour because of the mixed reviews, I didn't want to commit to a reservation!The Happy Hour begins @ 4p! The cocktail offerings are $10 and the beers/wines have a discount of $1-3 dollars off regular price!The food offerings are light fare: bruschetta; flatbread; sliders; fries and lamb lollipops. Those prices ranged from: $7-18 dollars!The lamb was cooked with basil pesto...delightful taste! The bruschetta was fresh and enjoyed the sauce that was drizzled on top! My friend ordered off the dinner menu and had the Linguini and it was ok..The service was adequate and I experienced what many commented on in their reviews...the noise and chatter isn't from the patrons it mainly comes from the service staff having ongoing conversations amongst themselves! They are distracted by their personal conversations and become neglectful of the guests they are servicing! The costs are a bit pricey for average Italian food but I know the neighborhood so I guess it works out!"

"This post is long overdue. I love this place! Let's first take note that last year one of my favorite seafood places in Germantown got shut down for their health code violations which just shocked me after I read it. I couldn't believe I ate there. So I of course checked the health code for soulfed and there were ZERO violations. I came by myself, one Sunday after church. The music was playing and there were a ton of young servers but were eager to help. Since I was alone, I sat at the bar in the back and ordered my food. My favorite is the tang special: fried fish & shrimp with over fries and crab meat with a special sauce. They have specialty drinks but there's no prices on the drink menu so FYI they may fluctuate.Anyway, my servers name was "moo", a young kid but pretty cool. He was professional and worked fast. The main reason I'm writing this is to annotate how calm and professional he was with a nasty customer. Her and her boyfriend (50 year olds at least) came to the bar. The female walked up with an attitude and just started "barking" orders at him and when he made the drink she ASKED FOR, she got even ruder calling it nasty amongst other things. I just kept looking at her like wow. And "moo" kept his cool the whole time until she left. I gave him credit, he didn't let her piss him off or change his professionalism."

"We went for Sunday brunch around 11am. We actually called that same morning for a reservation on a very busy weekend and we were surprisingly able to get a table for 8. If you didn't know, this restaurant is attached to a really stylish boutique hotel. It doesn't have its own bathroom. Instead, you have to go to the second floor of the hotel for the restroom which is accessible via elevator or stairs. The host at Square 1682 was extremely friendly as was our waiter. Our party maybe waited 10 mins to sit. I ordered the Wings and Waffles with a side of eggs and Turkey bacon. Those wings?? So good. Crispy and moist with a nice little zing and spice but not overwhelming. You only get 4 wings, but there should be more! And those waffles. Amazing!! They have little sugar crystals inside so each bite is crispy, but soft, warm, and deliciously Sweet. I didn't need to douse it with syrup. I as able to just dip eat bite and have enough flavor and sweetness. Im not from the area but when I return for a visit, ill definitely be coming back for brunch."

My fiancé and I were meeting some friends for dinner nearby and decided to stop in New Wave and grab a few beers before heading to the restaurant. We were very surprised to see that despite the small facade, the bar was very large and had plenty of seating including covered outdoor sidewalk seating. The interior is very warm and definitely has a dive bar feel while not having the "locals only" feel like some other dive bars seem to put off. They have a large selection of beer, liquor, and even fruit soaked vodka/tequila jars, which was wonderful because my fiancé a little picky when it comes to choosing a drink. The service was fast and friendly which is always a plus!I wish I could speak on the food, but seeing as we were about to go to a dinner we stuck to just drinks. Needless to say, just the smell/look of the food that people around us ordered impressed us and we knew we would be back another day to try it out. After the dinner we decided to hang around the area a bit longer and invited our party back to New Wave. The owner greeted us and told us about some of the bar history, including a fun fact that he was on Jeopardy at one point! Suffice to say, I will be back the next time I'm in the area to try some of the food from their unique (for a dive bar) menu."

While the food was delicious and the view was chefs kiss, it was really the service that made our meal so special. We took his recommendations and ordered the eggs benedict, strawberry cheesecake french toast along with the egg breakfast. We ateeeee. I have never eaten here but the drinks are always good and they have a decent selection of beers to drink on tap. The music venue is actually upstairs so it is not handicap accessible as far as I know. (please correct me if I am wrong). The venue is long and skinny. There are always good vibes. No coat check but I always just hang my coat on the hooks on the walls in the back and no one has stolen my coat. The stage is at a good level so you can see if you are further back.If I get another chance to see a show here, I will definitely be excited. Tickets are usually around $15-20. I have bought online and the venue uses Seetickets. Hopefully I will be back soon!"

"I attended a private event and would highly recommend! The space is a refurbished pump house so it has an industrial vibe. The patio has a beautiful view of the waterfront and Ben Franklin bridge. The food was delicious! Some places have a event menu that isn't up to par with their regular food. Not here! The cheese board was above average with the most yummy homemade potato chips. The butlered hors d'oeuvres were excellent. They were served hot with a nice presentation. The fried cheese curds and steak with mashed potatoes were my fave! The shrimp cocktail and falafel were also yummy. The service was too notch with friendly servers. One server even brought back a plate for me when the tray was empty before I got one. Bathrooms are gender neutral with common sinks. Honestly this makes it so much easier. Street parking is available with a public lot nearby."

He was bringing over sesame sticks to enjoy with my happy hour rosè when my dog basically jumped at the table out of nowhere and knocked my wine over. We went ahead and moved to a smaller table we hadn't seen initially and avoid being moved. But things looked up from there. My husband ordered a bottle of wine (half off on Wed) and I ordered a really yummy hibiscus cocktail. We split the fried green tomatoes (stuffed with goat cheese), roasted garlic cauliflower, and shrimp and grits. I also redeemed a yelp check in offer for a free glass of champagne with app purchase. We loved the apps and were mixed on the grits. Flavors were good but the grits were very runny/thin. I was confused at first but the provided spoons were very necessary. That said, I would still order again. I checked out the brunch menu which looked good too. The $5 brunch drinks are a draw from me too! Total bill for dinner was approximately $70 which $30 off that was a bottle of wine and cocktail. I'm glad my husband took me here....I'm looking forward to returning!"

Nothing was horrible ... and nothing was delightful either. There's also a wood burning stove (real or gas, not sure) that was a welcome sight after stumbling in from walking in 28 degree weather. Came here for dinner last night with my girlfriend. Every table was filled so it was a nice atmosphere, but it wasn't super loud or crazy. We each had a beer from the excellent list of draft beers, and she got the brisket sandwich while I got the meatloaf sandwich. They came out quickly and we loved them both. We will be back!"

As others have said....the dumplings are out of this world ridiculously good. Tastes just like french onion soup and then you also get some crispy dumplings. How could it get any better!Have been before for a yummy breakfast and will be back soon for a full dinner."

"Yes please! I'm a sucker for good German food/beer. Was actually walking to another restaurant and saw the sign, German food and tons of craft beers on tap.... Yes please! Bartenders were super attentive, my Wurst plate was the best I've had! Yep better than that other large German restaurant that starts with an "H". Only thing that was missing was a good creme puff... but loved the Plank Dunkler Weizenbock too!"
