"I somehow accidentally placed this review under the University City location. We dined at the Wayne location. We had intended to have brunch at White Dog Cafe Sunday 9.17.23 to celebrate a special occasion after visiting Chanticleer Gardens. I was concerned about that choice reading some of these reviews. However, we had a fantastic brunch. Service was well paced and attentive via our server Caroline. Ambiance was cozy. We had no complaints. We had some leftovers and ordered Mac and Cheese to go so dinner was covered as well.*Honey Cornbread, Salted Honey Butter, Strawberry Jam*Yellowfin Tuna Tartare - Avocado, Sriracha, Sesame Soy Emulsion,Micro Cilantro*Eggs Benedict - Canadian Bacon, English Muffin, Hollandaise, Yukon Potato Home Fries*Felafel Burger - Feta Cheese, Green Goddess Dressing,Sprouts, Red Onion, Tomato, Mixed Greens (This was DELICIOUS!)*Persian Cucumber Salad*Mac And Cheese - To Go*A Lil Vino :)"
"Volver is a José Garcia restaurant located in the Sidney Kimmel Center. It's a really cool restaurant/bar for before and after performances. In fact, they have food specials for shows that go on. The bar is a cool half circle space with a robust menu. We ended up with a Cab sav and Pinot Grigio which were pretty tasty. The service was quick and the bartender didn't kick us out even though we stayed past closing."

Place is clean, though in the summer time the mosquitoes tend to linger by the seating areas, hard to fly out of those plastic dividers once they're in, I got bitten several times and there is nothing I can do to get away, I had to end my dinner early to take home and finish eating. The food is amazing. I give it 4 stars overall for taste and quality as well as quantity. The mussels were very flavorful. Unfortunately I'm not the biggest Mexican southwest fan, so I can't judge the taste of their food compared to other establishments of the same type. They have a window where you can order and pick up to go. Besides having a clean establishment with some solid list of food choices, I also think it's important for the business itself to have some form of ethic. I found my car one closing night when they pushed their heavy trash filled bin right in front of my driver side door. Luckily I'm able to slide myself in, otherwise I would have to climb in through the passenger side. Obviously the message I'm getting here is: don't park here. I understand that it's a business, but it's also in a residential neighborhood. Due to covid they are already taking up space from their outdoor seating, like other restaurants out there. If you're going to use space, at least be mindful of the situation: it's hard to find parking in this neighborhood. People gotta get home. There is so much corner space on the block to put the trash. Or against the wall/back door. Why would you thrust it up someone's car door?"
"Stopped in to experience the Happy Hour because of the mixed reviews, I didn't want to commit to a reservation! The Happy Hour begins @ 4p! The cocktail offerings are $10 and the beers/wines have a discount of $1-3 dollars off regular price! The food offerings are light fare: bruschetta; flatbread; sliders; fries and lamb lollipops. Those prices ranged from: $7-18 dollars! The lamb was cooked with basil pesto...delightful taste! The bruschetta was fresh and enjoyed the sauce that was drizzled on top! My friend ordered off the dinner menu and had the Linguini and it was ok..The service was adequate and I experienced what many commented on in their reviews...the noise and chatter isn't from the patrons it mainly comes from the service staff having ongoing conversations amongst themselves! They are distracted by their personal conversations and become neglectful of the guests they are servicing! The costs are a bit pricey for average Italian food but I know the neighborhood so I guess it works out!"
"I wanted to keep this place a secret because of how great of an experience I had here. I came here on a Tuesday and it was quiet. Angel, our server, was extremely kind and attentive. The couple of appetizers we had were fantastic. I can't wait to return and try more of their food. The drinks were great too! Angel so awesome, we closed the bar down with her! Glad I found this place so close to home."
"We went for Sunday brunch around 11am. We actually called that same morning for a reservation on a very busy weekend and we were surprisingly able to get a table for 8. If you didn't know, this restaurant is attached to a really stylish boutique hotel. It doesn't have its own bathroom. Instead, you have to go to the second floor of the hotel for the restroom which is accessible via elevator or stairs. The host at Square 1682 was extremely friendly as was our waiter. Our party maybe waited 10 mins to sit. I ordered the Wings and Waffles with a side of eggs and Turkey bacon. Those wings?? So good. Crispy and moist with a nice little zing and spice but not overwhelming. You only get 4 wings, but there should be more! And those waffles. Amazing!! They have little sugar crystals inside so each bite is crispy, but soft, warm, and deliciously Sweet. I didn't need to douse it with syrup. I as able to just dip eat bite and have enough flavor and sweetness. Im not from the area but when I return for a visit, ill definitely be coming back for brunch."
"Yelper Timothy W. of Virginia claims Sassafras doesn't have any food-not even appetizers. I wonder where he actually went? While the place isn't going to win a Michelin star for comestibles, they serve appetizers as well as entrees. Many is the afternoon or evening where I have come and enjoyed good, basic food as well as well crafted drinks, served with panache and good humor. The burger is respectable and filling. If pierogies are ever on the menu, go for them as well. Here's the menu, Timothy W., should you ever deign to return to this allegedly foodless business. "I burst through the doors of Frida Cantina with my friend Zack and we had a purpose and it was fueled by tequila. We made it just in time leaving out jobs early to make it to the 4-6 happy hour that offers $5 drafts and $8 margarita made fresh on point! The atmosphere was inviting with a rustic charm and colorful decor. Especially the most beautiful bar in the city. See photosUpon arriving, we were promptly greeted by Perez, who was friendly and accommodating. He asked for our preference of an assortment of FRESH margarita flavors, and Zack chose mango while I chose classic. We were enamored by how authentic and delicious the drinks were, as always. The tequila was smooth and well-balanced with the other ingredients, making for a refreshing and satisfying beverage. For starters, we ordered the ceviche which was fresh and flavorful, and it was inhaled by the two of us in no time. For our main course, we ordered the suadero tacos, which had a perfect combination of textures and flavors, while Zack ordered steak/chorizo tacos, which were juicy and full of flavor. After happy hour was over, we decided to explore the drink menu and were imbibed by mojitos and mezcal margs. The mojito was made with fresh mint and lime, and the mezcal margarita had a smoky and complex flavor that was perfectly balanced with the other ingredients.Overall, I highly recommend Frida Cantina. The quality of the food and drink is top-notch, and the service is exceptional. We spent $20 plus an Uber ride because we knew Frida does not f around on their quality of food and drink. This happy hour went down in history as a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine and drinks.Note happy hour is 4-6 Monday -Friday Uber/Lyft highly recommendedGreat for date night Authentic Margs made with all fresh ingredients like agave."
"The food at Maxi's is surprisingly good. They have decent pizza and a delicious chicken parm sandwich.Beyond that, it's terrible. The bathrooms are ... unbelievable. I'd rather go out to Liacouras Walk and cop a squat right there than use these bathrooms. It's also usually impossible to find a place to sit, and since they serve alcohol the crowd is often there to guzzle beer. What I'm saying is the ambiance isn't great unless you're there to party, but the food is good to-go."
"So good that we came back a second time...in the same day! My fiancé and I were meeting some friends for dinner nearby and decided to stop in New Wave and grab a few beers before heading to the restaurant. We were very surprised to see that despite the small facade, the bar was very large and had plenty of seating including covered outdoor sidewalk seating. The interior is very warm and definitely has a dive bar feel while not having the "locals only" feel like some other dive bars seem to put off. They have a large selection of beer, liquor, and even fruit soaked vodka/tequila jars, which was wonderful because my fiancé a little picky when it comes to choosing a drink. The service was fast and friendly which is always a plus!I wish I could speak on the food, but seeing as we were about to go to a dinner we stuck to just drinks. Needless to say, just the smell/look of the food that people around us ordered impressed us and we knew we would be back another day to try it out. After the dinner we decided to hang around the area a bit longer and invited our party back to New Wave. The owner greeted us and told us about some of the bar history, including a fun fact that he was on Jeopardy at one point! Suffice to say, I will be back the next time I'm in the area to try some of the food from their unique (for a dive bar) menu."
"XIX! Booked a resy for Sunday brunch to celebrate my mom's birthday, and it was amazing! While the food was delicious and the view was chefs kiss, it was really the service that made our meal so special. From our reservation confirmation call to the happy birthday mini cupcakes, our host Chris was so thoughtful. We took his recommendations and ordered the eggs benedict, strawberry cheesecake french toast along with the egg breakfast. We ateeeee. Lol We also ordered the mimosa carafe, which easily had 6 servings. Extra points for Chris giving us the drop on the best spots for lighting so we could take pictures. There were so many good photo ops we couldn't choose just one. Noting: Our reservation was for noon, and the place was superrr chill."
"I have been to Milkboy a handful of times for shows and it is a pretty fun venue for an intimate show. I have never eaten here but the drinks are always good and they have a decent selection of beers to drink on tap. The music venue is actually upstairs so it is not handicap accessible as far as I know. (please correct me if I am wrong). The venue is long and skinny. There are always good vibes. No coat check but I always just hang my coat on the hooks on the walls in the back and no one has stolen my coat. The stage is at a good level so you can see if you are further back.If I get another chance to see a show here, I will definitely be excited. Tickets are usually around $15-20. I have bought online and the venue uses Seetickets. Hopefully I will be back soon!"

Volver is a restaurant by Chef Jose Garces, and our party came here for an early dinner, as we were in the area.We started off with some small plates:+Chicken & Dumplings - Parm and corn dumplings, poached chicken, seasonal root veggies, Parm espuma, and cilantro (which we opted out of); this was a little sus, as the filling seemed very undercooked+Grilled Octopus - served with crispy potatoes, romesco, black olive aioli, and red chiles; these were overcooked and rubbery, and we weren't fans of the romesco sauce, and it did not complement the octopus+the Burrata - with marinated roasted red peppers and basil chimichurri+'Tinned Fish on Toast' - tinned fish, cape gooseberries, tapenade, sundried tomatoes, and herb salad; wasn't a fan of this, even though I was excited to try this rotating toast out+Brie & Leek Empanada - with triple cream French brie, melted leeks, black oli aioli, and chimichurri; the leeks were super mushy, but we liked the brieFor our mains, we ordered:+the Scallop Risotto - with diver scallops, sweet peas, mushrooms, pine nuts, and a sherry-shallot jus; could have had more scallops+Grilled Hanger Steak - with hasselback 'nuri' potatoes, black truffle hollandaise, and shishito pepper escabeche; the steak was cooked well, but the shishito pepper escabeche wasn't necessary+the Braised Short Rib - served with white polenta, glazed veggies, black demi, and a beef fat & horseradish gremolata; extremely dried out and had no seasoningThe decor of the restaurant is bright, with floor to ceiling windows and an open kitchen.Service was friendly.Parking can be found by pre-paying for the theater lot nearby.+friendly service+pre-paid parking available at the theater lot

We sat at the bar and the service was amazing . I have to say the happy hour specials are great for this city. I've attached a menu. My partner is a taco aficionado so for her to say the tacos were good, well then they are very good. You can get your tacos with a choice of soft or hard taco shells. We got the chicken and steak fajitas. They were very good. Two recommendations would be as follows: I would like to see more vegetables in the fajitas and how about giving your customers four tortillas up front vs having to pay $1.50 for additional tortilla. The tortillas come in groups of three only. I think this place has some really good happy hour drinks, especially cocktails and great food specials. Check it out I think you'll be glad you did. I was.

Excellent brunch, terrible service. We stopped in here for brunch during the home and garden festival. There was over an hour wait at our favorite spot. We sat outside along the side of the building in the shade and got to people watch. Initially our server seemed great, friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered two salads and an omelet altogether. Food was slightly on the slow side but we didn't mind waiting it was a beautiful day!Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the squash salad with chicken which was really tasty and fresh. My mom really enjoyed the Italian avocado salad as well. Our server never came to check on us, never refilled our empty water glasses and after being done eating for over 30 minutes we had to ask someone else to get him so we could get our check. So service wise, no ideal but the food was great!

Corner Indian restaurant with a long bar and lots of TV screens. Chill place to have dinner, drinks, and watch hockey. I ordered the Baingan Bharta, which is a vegan eggplant dish. You can customize the spice level, medium was spicy but not uncomfortable. It's the best Indian eggplant I've ever had, spiced and smoky and gingery. We also tried the cheese naan and chicken samosas which were excellent. My partner enjoyed his goat curry as well. Service was good as it wasn't too busy but we did have to wait 30 min for our food. Would return for sure. Underrated and deserves more than 4.2 stars!- Pay in cash to save 4%- The kitchen may close earlier depending on the pace so call ahead

Walking aimlessly around Philly is amazing. The people watching is superb. Worked up an appetite laughing so I dipped into this spot! Omg it's restaurant week! Score! Open kitchen with all the smells. It was a solid find. Salad greens with shrimp was fresh and amazing! Loved the eggplant parmesan too! Diamond took great care of me! The combination of quality cuisine, inviting atmosphere, and perhaps a touch of serendipity made stumbling upon it a great dining experience.

We visited Sassafras on a Saturday night while in the area, looking to kill some time. Despite the small, packed space, our large party of 8 was seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. The bar has a fantastic atmosphere reminiscent of an old-timey prohibition-era spot, complete with classic bartender wardrobes and decor. The drinks were delicious, and the bartender, possibly named Mike, was outstanding. He crafted each drink with meticulous attention to detail yet remarkably quickly, managing to make three different cocktails in about two minutes. We shared some fries and wings, both of which were tasty, and the rest of the menu looked promising. Sassafras is highly recommended for an intimate date or pre-night-out drinks with friends.

If you want to get good drinks without spending too much , come here Monday- Friday before 6 for happy hour. I had mojito and it's perfectly refreshing. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Good and spicy red salsa served with chips.Guacamole is ok. Carnitas burrito is mediocre. Had little pieces of pork mostly fat.I ordered salad with shrimp. They asked me how many shrimps I wanted. Shrimps are big and perfectly cooked In summary, I recommend the drinks but not the food.
Visit Restaurant Page"I attended a private event and would highly recommend! The space is a refurbished pump house so it has an industrial vibe. The patio has a beautiful view of the waterfront and Ben Franklin bridge. The food was delicious! Some places have a event menu that isn't up to par with their regular food. Not here! The cheese board was above average with the most yummy homemade potato chips. The butlered hors d'oeuvres were excellent. They were served hot with a nice presentation. The fried cheese curds and steak with mashed potatoes were my fave! The shrimp cocktail and falafel were also yummy. The service was too notch with friendly servers. One server even brought back a plate for me when the tray was empty before I got one. Bathrooms are gender neutral with common sinks. Honestly this makes it so much easier. Street parking is available with a public lot nearby."
"Vegan vegan vegan. With only one review on here using the word, it's time to draw attention. There are vegan options here. The veggie burger, vegetable wrap, and red pepper hummus with pita are all vegan. Yay!If you're into meat, you've got loads of options. Food spans a cross between gastro pub and dive bar (read: soups, chili, wings, steak tip sandwiches; quesadilla, nachos, and a variety of sandwiches.) Prices are reasonable and sandwiches come with fries or salad. The beer list is pretty long for a neighborhood watering hole. I snagged a pint of a great black lager, and also tried the Fiddlehead white which was nice too. There were about eight brews on draft and double that number in cans and bottles, plus ciders. Sitting under a tree trapped up in fairy lights on the outdoor patio was quite nice. Indoors is dark wood and a long bar and TV screens. Good place for sports fans or biergarten lunchers. Friendly service too. G'ahead, give it a try."
"Great find! We were hungry after a long and underwhelming experience at the Philadelphia Wine School. We noticed SPTR has a kitchen that's open late, and we were fortunate enough to get a table (around 10:00 PM). This place has upscale bar food and cocktails. The four of us ordered a few items to share - Vegan Cheesesteak, Crispy Brussels, Wings, Roasted/Buffalo Cauliflower, and a killer Peanut Butter and Jelly dessert that knocked our socks off. Everything was delicious! Our server was super funny and chill. He made great recommendations and checked in on us regularly. So glad we happened upon this place!"
"Not bad. I wasn't very impressed with the sandwich, but the drinks were good. The place was loud too. I tried the passion fruit and blackberry libations and ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. The service was average. I intended to order another drink, but the waitress didn't check back with me, so I decided to leave after finishing my meal."
"The food quality was good, portion sizes were large & the service was excellent. We had a large group with multiple families and required multiple checks. Very accommodating & the price was reasonable."
"For some reason I thought this place would be light bright but it's a very dark pub bar sort of feel. I opted for just the empanadas which isn't really ground chicken as described on the menu but more pulled. I reallyyyy enjoyed them. My friends had the quesabirria which they liked - very filling. It's been awhile since I've had a good margarita and this place had some good ones. I had the pineapple jalapeño. We also did 6 shots of patron ($90) which was a wee bit pricey but to fair they were pretty hefty shots. Id come here for drinking and apps again but not for dinner."
"When we're on Drexel's campus we have to have some Ramon noodles. The students are just returning from Christmas break do the restaurant was not busy.We were seated as soon as we arrived at a nice table. Servers were all very attentive. We ordered the suggested Ramon dishes. Don't forget to add the marinated soft boiled egg. Save room for desert the green tea ice cream is worth saving room for. The best part is the cost . With green tea s Ramon bowl and desert we spent about $20 per person"
"I like this place a lot. From the decor to the food everything was excellent. I love that they play 90s music videos on their TVs. The menus are old albums. Mystery beer. The food is real cheap and real good. Scrapple bites. Kung PO tofu. $5 nachos that could feed a family. The place wasn't packed and it wasn't too loud. I like my friends. So when I go out with them I want to be able to hear them talk. That's the measure of a good bar to me. Server was excellent. Anyway I was really impressed. I'd go back in a heartbeat."
"One night recently, my husband brought me here begrudgingly. I say that because of "brew" being in the name and I don't like going to places where beer is the main focus. Then when we walked in and sat down (no hostess stand), the server seemed put out that we sat at a 4 top (since only 2 of us). She stated if a larger group came in she would have to move us to a smaller table but that we could sit there for now. Uh ooookay, that didn't give me the warm and fuzzies. We went ahead and moved to a smaller table we hadn't seen initially and avoid being moved. But things looked up from there. My husband ordered a bottle of wine (half off on Wed) and I ordered a really yummy hibiscus cocktail. We split the fried green tomatoes (stuffed with goat cheese), roasted garlic cauliflower, and shrimp and grits. I also redeemed a yelp check in offer for a free glass of champagne with app purchase. We loved the apps and were mixed on the grits. Flavors were good but the grits were very runny/thin. I was confused at first but the provided spoons were very necessary. That said, I would still order again. I checked out the brunch menu which looked good too. The $5 brunch drinks are a draw from me too! Total bill for dinner was approximately $70 which $30 off that was a bottle of wine and cocktail. I'm glad my husband took me here....I'm looking forward to returning!"
"Amuse usually means to entertain or charm; however, this Amuse is the sorely-understaffed-but-with-totally-charming-staff Le Meridien Hotel lobby bar and restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. My advice is to not consider it a destination for food and drinks ... unless that objective includes a guest room in the hotel.Because I was staying here for several nights, I definitely found Amuse convenient for a late-night cocktail (or 6) as well as some nibbles to help pass the time. Nothing was horrible ... and nothing was delightful either. I could easily order the Classic French Onion Soup ($8) with 3-cheese Gratin or the board with French Brie and Prosciutto ($14) plus Dried Fruit, Candied Nuts, and Stoneground Mustard again ... or not ... either way, really.Because the service was sooooo slow, I quickly learned to double-up on orders with Makers Mark Old Fashioneds, Bombay Sapphire Gin Mules, and bottles of Dogfish Head 60-minute IPAs satisfying me while my mates opted for Cranberry and Vodka cocktails or classic Tanquery Gin and Tonics.I don't hate Amuse and you really shouldn't either ... as long as your already at the Le Meridien Hotel. Otherwise, Amuse really wasn't charming or entertaining, or staffed enough to be a destination restaurant or bar."
"This is my favorite bar! Can't believe I've never reviewed it before. It's better during the week than on the weekend. I'm not sure why. But super chill spot, great food, people are friendly. It's a great neighborhood spot with a full parking lot. It can get crowded and or noisy on Friday and Saturday nights but usually it's not hard to find a spot at the bar or a table in the back. Worth popping in!"
"Great food, great service. It DOES get noisy, but that's not McCloskey's fault."
"Absolutely love this place. Wonderful hidden gem in Olde City, tucked away at the end of - you guessed it - Race Street, practically under the bridge. I don't live in Philly but it's one of my go to places when I'm in the city because it never disappoints. It's a gorgeous small space with dark wood everywhere that adds to the atmosphere. There's also a wood burning stove (real or gas, not sure) that was a welcome sight after stumbling in from walking in 28 degree weather. Came here for dinner last night with my girlfriend. Every table was filled so it was a nice atmosphere, but it wasn't super loud or crazy. We each had a beer from the excellent list of draft beers, and she got the brisket sandwich while I got the meatloaf sandwich. They came out quickly and we loved them both. We will be back!"
"Forgot to take any pics! We stopped in last night for a few old fashioneds (yum) and a few appetizers. We shared the pastrami egg rolls and the French Onion soup dumplings. As others have said....the dumplings are out of this world ridiculously good. Tastes just like french onion soup and then you also get some crispy dumplings. How could it get any better!Have been before for a yummy breakfast and will be back soon for a full dinner."
"Great outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. Can't go wrong here if you get any of the margaritas. Great flavors, but I urge you to get top shelf!"
"Yes please! I'm a sucker for good German food/beer. Was actually walking to another restaurant and saw the sign, German food and tons of craft beers on tap.... Yes please! Bartenders were super attentive, my Wurst plate was the best I've had! Yep better than that other large German restaurant that starts with an "H". Only thing that was missing was a good creme puff... but loved the Plank Dunkler Weizenbock too!"
"My friend and I stopped by today for happy hour and cannot wait to come back! It was surprisingly very empty even though the happy hour food and drink deal is incredible!Multiple $5 city wide specials, a lot of good food deals, huge dive bar inside and 2 tables outside. Plus the friendliest most attentive server.Best thing we had were the Greek nachos, which were so unique and delicious. Had all the Greek salad toppings paired with fried pita chips. Came with tzatiki sauce and tasted even better when hot sauce was added. I'm sure paying extra for meat would've elevated it. $6 during happy hour!Second best thing we had were the Dolmades. I loved the fresh pita that came with Skordalia. The puréed mashed potatoes were delicious, but honestly the pita bread that paired with the dish was the star. So warm and fluffy that I wish it came with more! That dish was also only $4 during happy hour. Last thing we tried were the $3 chicken skewers. Nothing mind blowing, but juicy meat that was grilled to perfection and not dry whatsoever.I cannot wait to come back!"
"We had the set special A with galbi, finger rib, inner ribeye, and spinallis. The finger rib was really good - flavoring is great and the meat is tender and juicy. Galbi is cut off the bone and is softer than what I expected. The other rib cultus were also good but not flavored so I preferred the finger rib and galbi. We also had the soy garlic Korean chicken wings and they were excellent as well. We didn't order any sides and I would say that we probably could have added another item, maybe more chicken wings or some more meat. Ambience is very cute. Each table is set off with clear curtains so it feels like you're in a little pod. Service is great. They also help you get started with the cooking. The restaurant has its own parking lot so parking is easy. Overall food is very good. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for Korean bbq in the PA area."
"On a Sunday afternoon , I went to lunch with my family here. The pictures don't do this place justice it's really pretty in the main dining room, but it's also warm welcoming giving a very inviting ambiance. We were greeted and seated immediately, the service was very engaging and warm, & the service was prompt. The menu had a lot of variety which I enjoyed, we ordered a salad and the Bada Bing Shrimp. I enjoyed both very much, the shrimp does have a lot of sauce which I enjoyed but I only mention it because one person in our group found it intense. Since we were just getting lunch I chose the Grilled Chicken BLAT. I found it delicious and the Cole Slaw was yummy too !! The dessert tray called my name and I answered lol!! I chose the chocolate, chocolate cake ... yummmmmyyyyy! I thoroughly enjoyed it here and cannot wait to return !"
"This IS my Must Stop when I go to Philly. Awesome Food. Ice Cold Beer. AND THE HOSPITALITY IS BEYOND COMPARE. If you come to (or through) Philadelphia, you must come to Nick's. Chris is a phenomenal bar tender. He goes above and beyond to ensure your drinks are COLD and food is expedited from the kitchen. DONT FORGET THE MAN BEHIND THE SCENES: Alfredo is a Grill Master. I'm first generation Italian and never had a Beef Sandwich like THIS. OMG. Perfect combination with the sautéed spinach, beef and provolone cheese!! AND I COULD NOT HAVE HAD SUCH A GREAT NIGHT IF THE OWNERS DID NOT CARE SO MUCH ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND PROVIDING AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE. Thank You Joe and Nick for welcoming us into your place and making us feel right at home!!!"
"Ambiance: great ambiance and music. Not too loud so easy to converse and a good date spot Service: great professional service. No wait to get seated for two on a Saturday night. Food: I thought the steam egg was okay. Prefer the ones at KBBQ more. Their house made soy sauce was perfect and not too salty. Love the fresh wasabi and recommend adding a bit to each bite. Worth treating yourself to the A5 wagyu with uni on top. The salmon one is good and packed with fish. The lime zest in the scallop was a nice touch. Definitely get the miso cod one, came out nice and hot. Toro mushroom was just okay, not much flavor from the shiitake mushroom. If you like uni, definitely get that one. Lobster one was okay as well, did like that it wasn't super over dressed with sauce, more meat. Drinks were a bit lacking in option. Would be nice if they had cocktail options or hot tea/ lemonade. Overall worth a try or for a special occasion!"
"Love the low key hipster old school Fishtown vibe. This place hasn't changed in 15 years or more which is much appreciated. I got the short rib which had mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The half chicken was excellent with great flavors. The blackened octopus salad was probably the best octopus dish I've ever had. The salad was refreshing and the octopus had so much flavor and large portions. The ginger rush drink was kinda sweet and had rosemary and a blood orange. It was very good! We had a great time and will be back again when visiting the old stomping grounds."
"I'm always looking for places where I say..."If I lived here...this would be my regular place." and this is it, in Philly.Stopped in on a very busy Thursday night and snagged 2 seats at the bar.Staff and even other customers at the bar were very friendly. (I think they have a steady stream of regulars)Drinks were good, and ended up ordering the pork tenderloin and I loved it.Thinly sliced and nice and moist. The bartenders were really cool and attentive. The entire block in this section of Sansom street is cool and you can easily move from place to place. I will return."
