Great fast buns. Buffalo and Bang Bang shrimp are good. Gringo chicken is a bit dry. Great lunch spot-- 3 buns for same price as a sweetgreen.

Was looking for some quick food when in Philly recently and stumbled across this place. One of the more unique foods I've had in awhile. Their bao buns are all made perfectly. Super soft and flavorful. I had the hot motha clucka, which was a buffalo chicken style one, and the prime time, which was a cheeseburger style. Both were incredible and loaded with flavor. They are slider style so not super filling, which is perfect because you will want to try more than one.

I'm not a big fan of the Wawa style ordering screen at a restaurant. It made for a weird vibe in my opinion - like "we just want to do online orders and not interact with customers."Anyway, the baos are small - you'll need three, so get the combo. They were fine compared to others I've had over the years. Not the best actual bao buns, but the fillings were decent and creative. I would highly recommend the mango black tea - that stuff was delicious.

This was my first ever bao experience, and I'll definitely do it again! If you're new to bao, maybe the best analogy is that this is the Korean version of a taco. But the serving piece is a really fluffy, rice bread, and the ingredients are fresher, not greasy, and more interesting.Bao Nine was really clean, friendly, and spacious. The menu boards were very easy to understand. The prices were very reasonable. The food was excellent.

What a great concept and such delicious food! Stumbled upon this place as we were in the area looking for a snack. We had the sticky chicky, bao boa, and bang bang. The baos may be small but are packed with flavor. We were pleasantly surprised. The taro chips and Brussels sprouts were addictive too. I'd definitely return!

Overall- fun menu with okay food at a decent priceWe ordered delivery. The baos all looked super fun on the menu, but the flavors were really sweet and more Americanized than I was expecting. The cucumber salad was only okay too. Everything was very sweet. It did travel well though.

Summary: ordered a "threesome" of baos through uber eats. The baos were good - an Americanized fusion of different flavor profiles all tucked into a bao.Bao nine offers a pretty wide variety of different flavor combinations that are a mix of more "classic" flavors with newer Americanized fusion options in there too.The taste was okay/good. It kind of felt like the Bao-equivalent of a taco place that tries a bunch of flavor options, but it doesn't always quite hit its mark. The baos themselves weren't quite as fluffy/soft, but that might be attributed to the Uber Eats time to delivery.I can't speak on the service or the ambiance there, but I will say Uber Eats was pretty spot on with their estimated timing, so it seems like Bao Nine does a good job keeping up with orders in a timely manner.

This is a bao+bowl restaurant. I went for dinner and it was quite quiet. I got the steak bowl. Toppings:Crispy fried shallots - very nice and flavorful with good crunch.Vegetables: Slices of carrots, cucumber, green onions, a radish of some sort or jicama, and lettuceNoodles - These were cold but pleasant. They were rice noodles. Two sauces: There was a fish sauce and a more soy type sauce. Both of these sauces were flavorful and worked well with the other ingredients. The one thing that was off was the steak. So the pieces came on skewers and they had a good flavor on the outside, but I think the cut of meat was weird. It tasted very "beefy" like stew meat. Usually for this, I would have thought it would be thinner cut or flank steak. I think the meat seemed to only be seasoned on the outside. Presentation was OK. They just gave a plastic tray, and I thought that was a little bit disappointing because I was dining in and I wish we had real cutlery. Overall it was decent with an OK price and portions. I think you should just not order the steak.

Ordering here is such a trip experience. The baos have fun pun-names, but it makes you feel like you're barking. The ambiance is nice; order at the counter and take a seat, you'll get served and return your tray when done. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the baos themselves. Although the kitschy, "less traditional" options are fun, they didn't do it for me in terms of flavor.
