What's a girl to do when one of Yelp's top chocolate chip cookies in the COUNTRY is steps away, calling my name after any minor inconvenience I encounter? I am a mere cookie-loving mortal!Everything is so good here you're not gonna go wrong. There's probably going to be a line whenever you go (and there is a 100% chance of a line on weekend mornings) but don't let that deter you! It moves very quickly and you can even order online for pickup if you're looking for added ease. I tried their BEC for the first time, ordering it ahead and enjoying it on a park bench in the square, a course of action I highly recommend. The staff here is as sweet as the baked goods and truly nothing I've tried has missed.The classic chocolate chip is the star of the show but my underrated favorite is the gorgeous lemon ricotta cookie. Next on the must try list? Breakfast items like sticky buns and their lunchtime sandwiches. Thank you for existing, Bakeshop on 20th!"

I decided on the sandwich the firebird. The young lady said it was a new option there. It is made with pork roll, egg and cheese, chipotle mayo and hot sauce. They have many bread or bagels to decide from. You can never go wrong with the everything bagel. I got a few pastry for later on that day. But the real draw at Essen is Plessis' iconic Chocolate Halva Babka.Her intimate Jewish bakery no longer offers indoor service, you can still order takeout from the commercial-grade window built into the white-brick building. Wooden patio furniture is arranged outside if you're intent on digging in ASAP.My partner and I arrived for weekend lunch, and a queue trailed down the block. The trim menu is geared toward being prepared quickly, so the staff steadily churned through the line. Unsurprisingly, we loved our slice of babka -- despite the dense, chewy texture, it pulled apart with ease, and each fold was generously laced with rich dark chocolate. We also enjoyed the Za'atar Crossaint, served cold and layered with tangy labneh and a sliced hard-boiled egg. The croissant itself had a flaky exterior but a flat, somewhat dense interior. While I enjoyed the strong flavor profile, my partner commented that the combination was about as simplistic as a DIY avocado toast.Our bill worked out to just over $10, and we agreed that splitting the small items left us both hungry. Nonetheless, the stellar babka is reason enough to visit Essen. If I had the time and/or appetite, I would strongly consider investing in a whole loaf just for myself."

"I stopped here for a quick coffee and bite to eat in the morning before heading into work. I just ordered the house coffee and a breakfast sandwich on a muffin with cheese, bacon, egg, and spinach. The sandwich and coffee were good. If I were a picky coffee person I bet I would have loved this place, but I'm not. This is more of a 3.5 star for me and provides a minimalist approach. Eg there is a small bench inside, no real tables just end tables, and a few chairs stacked up in the corner. Not a ton either on the hot food menu but the pasteries looked very good. Service was quick and friendly with some locals who are regulors here. Would recommend this place for a quick stop to pick up and take in on your way to work."

The store is clean and bright, so we got carried away a little and bought 10+ bakery items. The ones we tried are all pretty nice.Now some not-good parts, when we got in there is already a long line and it was moving pretty slowly. The ordering process is not efficient, as you can see from the photo, the food display is on one side but you need to order on the other side. So if you are ordering a lot of items, it's hard to remember all. And someone else will be bagging your item, which can introduce the wrong items. The price is also a little on the expensive side...."

"Attractive space in this King of Prussia mall location, is true even on a rain soaked Friday morning. Strong Java is likewise the case with obviously well curated and roasted beans to choose among. I bought a half dozen (vanilla, maple, strawberry & cream, banana foster) for a king's ransom, thinking I would be rewarded with excellence in donut baking skills. Well, not quite. Apparently, baked the day before, each was semi stale on first bite. There was little to distinguish between the vanilla and maple variants in flavor, and both textures were past their prime, drying and lacking freshness. The philo layered banana and strawberry pastries had a decent flavor with pleasant light creams, but the delicate layers were hardening and the bite was tougher than it should have been. Rather than cleaving smoothly, my teeth caused the structure to collapse. Disappointing. Flavor without proper texture is less than half satisfying. It teases of possibilities, but delivers only empty promises."

"It is one of my favorite bakeries and pastry shops that I visited recently. My friend took me to this place. And it's definitely impressive with the collection of croissants, cakes, and pastry options. And everything came right on time. The service is fantastic and the staff is friendly. The Danish tasted great and will try this place again. "Musette is the perfect cafe to spend a Saturday morning at with a good book. The cafe is small with tons of plants and natural light. It feels like a green house. The cafe has a good amount of seating but it gets packed if you don't come early enough. The coffee was really pleasant! I enjoyed it a lot. The food was good too! I ordered the shakshuka which was very chili flavor heavy. The egg served was a fried egg. I also got a salad that came with trout, green beans, and a soft boiled egg. It was a delicious salad! I wouldn't never have thought to pair those salad ingredients together but it worked well with the dressing! I was impressed by the salad. The food is pricey for what you're getting. My total bill was $50 for 2 coffees and dishes. Kinda steep for a cafe but it's fine since I was able to catch up with friends :)I wanna come back and have a slow Saturday here!"

"If you're in the Rittenhouse Square area, Vibrant Coffee Roasters is THE PLACE to get your coffee (then walk it to the park if it's nice outside; this is not really a place you sit inside at, and while there are a few tables outside you're literally just a minute from a nicer atmosphere then "generic city sidewalk").I can't speak to any of the baked goods, there weren't any vegan options. The Signature Lattes are where they shine (seriously, look through other reviews), and they change with the season. When we first came it was early summer, and we tried the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte and Cookie Butter Latte both iced with oat milk and an extra shot of espresso. SO GOOD. When it comes to lattes, personally I think you've always got to add an extra shot (in this case, the drink as is comes with two shots - again, that's just not enough caffeine for me). It adds more of that coffee flavor (and Vibrant roasts an exceptional bean - I regret not buying a bag!) and cuts back on the sugaryness of the flavoring. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte tasted like the milk leftover from a bowl of cereal! The Cookie Butter Latte was somehow both sweet AND savory, and for sure my favorite of the two. Our drinks took a little longer to come out than other folks in line (again, because of all the espresso) and there's no real place to wait, so we were just sort of in everyone's way. It seems like regulars here don't mind though, they're in and out so fast. I appreciate there was a bathroom to use while we waited too!"

And I have to say that of all the good things I received my cake was the star of the show.I've had my eye on this cake for a few years ever since a friend posted a picture of hers on Instagram. I don't indulge in sweets because I have a milk allergy but for this occasion I made an exception and it was absolutely to die for. Sweet, tart, lemony and moist, if you like lemon bars or the like you will want this cake. You don't have to special order it because it's available daily but you should call ahead if you want an inscription. And don't be ridiculous and get the small one, just hand over your 30.00 for large and thank me later."

It was lightly toasted and warm. Next time I would ask for a double toast (not sure if they do that). What I believe is a normal amount of cream cheese is applied which might not be enough for some people but I loved it. The bagel was very flavorful and I would definitely get them again. There was a long line for at least an hour after opening on a Saturday. I think it's worth the hype!"

It was generously stuffed (yes, fully stuffed!) with light whipped cream and bits of candied orange. Chef's kiss. ＊Mushroom Danish**I always prefer savory pastries so this one was right up my alley. Loved the golden twist they made. It balanced the buttery aroma from the pastry and savory umami from the mushroom filling.＊Double Pain au ChocolatSoooo flaky! I seldom get pain au chocolate. Here they might have used dark chocolate so it was on the bitter side, which made me in love with it. ＊Orange Cardamom Morning BunWe were surprised by how flaky it was even we ate it on the next morning. A pity that we could taste neither orange nor cardamom flavor. It just tasted straight up like a regular morning bun.＊LatteWe got the coffee at Two Persons Coffee next door. It was difficult to find the cafe as there are no signs and they aren't listed in the Franklin Commons directory. Barista who served me seemed antagonistic towards friendly customer service and customers in general unless they wanted to go on an aimless search to discover them. I wouldn't mind coming back every now and again to experience as they evolve their product offering; however, the attitude I got was customers should be happy to experience us and we don't care to make it easy for customers to be served or find us. Probably not the most effective culture for a small business in growth mode.Self-service coffee was ok.. maybe a bit more concentrated flavor than Wawa, not burnt, but definitely not the boldest, some aftertaste flavor at the end. If you are a coffee snob, you can find the service and talk here to match, but the ready made coffee is working towards the highest echelons of snobbery. Good luck growing this business - it has a lot of potential to serve the north side of PXV! I enjoyed walking the halls to see all of the beautiful artwork. Worth coming here to see that while sipping on some coffee.Edit: I updated this review with an additional star after the owner's reply. It took a lot of guts to be so candid, and the context and receptiveness really was appreciated, went a long way, and gave me a sense that this business isn't just 'tude-forward. It made me feel a lot better about the experience as my allergic reaction was towards the service which created a trap for the product. I look forward to visiting Heart Stone in the near future."

The grilled lemongrass pork spring rolls were to die for. Not many places add the crispy fried egg roll skin into the spring rolls but these had it included and makes it 10x more enjoyable. Fair priced and quick. Plenty of different food and drink items to purchase made to order or set out in the heat lamp areas or fridges to grab and go. There is nowhere to sit and eat so you'll want to plan to take this to go at the park or home. They do take card but will add a fee for electronic transactions so bring cash if you can. This will remain my go to stop for quick take out viet snacks. And parking is always a plus."
