I went there and ordered the shrimp the next 3 day's were a nightmare. I lost 2 day's of work because of food poisoning. So in total that shrimp plate cost me $510.00. Heck seafood can kill you be careful.

I'm surprised that Perico's has a 3 star rating. I really am. My dad and I just went there for breakfast. The food was really good and authentic. You do have to know a little Spanish, but if you're not turned off by that, go try it out.The first thing I look at in a quality Mexican restaurant is the salsa, and they've got good salsa. The red salsa was chunky and not overly tomato-based, and the green salsa was as good as any taco truck salsa verde that you would find in Houston. Not as spicy as some green salsas that I've had, but tolerable for most people. We both got the Desayunos Pericos, which is chilaquiles, eggs (we got them over-easy) and refried beans, which you can get with beef or chicken fajita. Delicious. The beef could maybe be a little thicker cut, so that it doesn't get too tough, but other than that, great flavors and properly cooked eggs and chilaquiles. The refried beans were really well done. I usually have to add salt to my refried beans at other places, but not here, and they were also not runny.Unpopular opinion alert: I think that with some restaurants, particularly Mexican, you have to eat what they are good at to get the best experience. It's a bit unfair to say that one restaurant is bad because their Tex-Mex food is average, when their authentic food is the reason you go there. A lot of the Tex-Mex dishes in many Mexican restaurants are on the menu to appeal to the gringos, while the Hispanic community wants the authentic food. This is not meant to sound degrading, but I've ordered food from a restaurant based on the culture of people that are sitting at the tables or waiting the tables. If I need to speak in their language so I can order, I'm going to get something from their culture, but if a waiter/waitress speaks perfect English to me, I'm going to get something more Americanized, because that's what they do. I'm a firm believer in reading the restaurant before I read the menu.Ok, soapbox over.Great job, Perico's! I will be back.

My husband and I have been going to Perico's for 20+ years. It is always good and reasonably priced. I love the green sauce that is served with the chips. I could drink it up it's so good. Since we live out of state now, we bought a container of it to take home with us.

Happy Hour - Monday through Friday 3pm- 9pm. $5 large margarita $3 domestic beer & $3.50 imported beer. The food was descent but the green salsa was so spicy! Lover their breakfast tacos but still want to try their soups. So many people ordered soups.

This place reminds me of an Arandas, but with quicker, friendlier service. The food and setting are just about the same. I enjoyed the Fajitas off the sizzle plate, though I would not recommend the shrimp add on. The flautas and burrito are also tasty. The margaritas are smooth, but strong. If you need a quick bite at a bargain, or just want a different Mexican spot, give this place a shot!Update: added a 4th star after remembering how good the green salsa was.

Cute little casual standard Mexican restaurant, with great service and edible food. It was very clean inside and service was prompt. The ladies we had helping us were extremely sweet and on top of it, they were always around if we needed anything. Pretty standard pricing, my sister and I got cheese enchiladas for $12 each. They were absolutely SMOTHERED in cheese, I love cheese but it was almost inedible until moved the top cheese off. The food was good but not mind blowing or the most delicious thing I've ever had. It had me feeling like I had a brick in my stomach for like 5 hours after but what else was I expecting with a huge portion of enchiladas, rice and beans? The salsa with the chips was really good and they give you a very generous amount limes to squeeze on your food as soon as you sit down. It's a straight forward, basic Mexican restaurant conveniently right off the highway, that's really all there is to say.

The food was amazing the chips were salted perfectly and warm. They even gave lemon with my child's small plate. Service was a bit slow - but we will be back!
