This pizza is 6/5 stars and was my favorite thing I ate on my trip to Chicago! My friends that live here said this was the spot to get incredible deep dish. They were not joking! They take reservations, which is a huge plus. We started with the cheesy garlic bread and got a large pepperoni pizza to share. There were three of us and we had a few pieces left over, so great bang for your buck! The garlic bread app was super tasty and we were really hungry. The pizza though, was INCREDIBLE! The flavor of the tomato sauce was amazing and the crispy, cheesy crust was next level. I will be dreaming about this pizza forever! SO GOOD!

*Delivery Experience*So this 2-star nightmare is for delivery as the dine-in experience is completely different. So let's start with the good, same good quality ingredients with the potential to taste great. Now, hear's the reality of not eating Pequod's on-premises:It's simply awful as the dough is soggy, and the desired crisp and taste is no longer edible.Unlike other more known Chicago style pizza places, Peaquod's does not know how to package their take out/delivery in a way to preserve their great tasting pizza?! Simply go checkout your other popular Pizza places.Despite keeping it uncut, the aluminum foil made the crust soggy as the sauce and ingredient amounts were too much for it too handle. We asked for plates and utensils but to deaf ears as they were already paid and too busy too care.Bottomline: Just eat there! *AVOID: Take out/Delivery at all costs!*

A Chicago Classic! This isn't deep dish pizza but pan pizza. However, it was delicious and the crust was crispy and the insides were fluffy. Service was slow, but understandable since it takes a while to make the pizzas. Place is kinda like a bar setting. No large tables for a huge group so you would have to split up.

Visited Chicago and made sure I ate the pan style pizza there. My friend who lived there suggested this place and I was def looking forward to it. Came here on a Wednesday night and did not have to wait to be seated. We ordered the medium pan pizza ($21.45) with pepperoni ($3.95) and sausage ($3.95) and it was very good and filling. Very cheesy and delicious. The pie was more than enough for two people and we had leftovers. Of course we had to get Pepsi ($3.45 each). I enjoyed the relaxing and dim atmosphere. There are plenty of other deep dish pizza places but I wanted to try other dishes while visiting Chicago. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for pan pizza. * Street parking* Pepsi drinks (No Coca Cola)* Good service * TV to watch sports* NY/NJ pizza is greater than (sign) Chi pizza

We got he small pan deep dish pizza and one meatball. That meatball was insane. The flavor was stupendous. A little on the salty side but I'll take it. It would go so hard on pasta!I'm gonna be honest about the pizza but take it with a grain of salt bc I am a die hard thin n crispy galIt was good. The bread was good. The sauce was well seasoned. I couldn't taste the cheese much. We got half original and half with pepperoni, green pepper. And onion. Charging 2.50 or whatever PER topping PER half of the pizza. It just wasn't worth it in my opinion

Came by during a weekday for their lunch special. It was pretty busy, but I was still able to be seated. The crust was so buttery and had a good crisp to it. Bummed that the lunch special doesn't come out in a deep dish pan, but it was still very good. Pepperonis were a little over charred. Even though it was only 7", the pizza was a lot for me. I couldn't even finish it. There so much cheese and dough, that it makes it very hearty. There was a person in front of me looking for a pie to go ASAP. Because Pequod's prides itself on quality, they gave him a pizza that was never picked up for free. They tell you that it takes 45 minutes for pies to be made when you order as well. You know you're getting a fresh pie.

Does Pequod's serve amazingly good pizza? Yes! But was this the best pizza in America? No. After a very rainy day, a hot comforting slice of pizza was all we needed to rejuvenate ourselves. We had many reservations a couple weeks in advance since we weren't from Chicago and it really came in handy. We started off our meal with the half order of buffalo chicken wings and it was perfect because deep dish takes about 45 mins!!The deep dish was really good. I loved the crust's crispy bottom and cheese edge. The sausage was also very high quality and one of the best sausages Ive ever had on pizza! The sweet tomato sauce really tied it in together The thin crust amazed me more! I've never had tavern style pizza and I loved how the crust was soft yet crunchy like a buttery cracker. We really only had one slice of each deep dish and thin crust before we had leftovers for 3 days. So why isn't this the best pizza in America? Because it's so subjective and there are so many types of pizzas in America. Pequods may have been my best deep dish and tavern style, but American pizza feels like more of a cuisine with different types of pizza, and therefore necessary to have different rankings of pizza styles!

THE BIG: This pizza shop is situated between Lincoln Park and Bucktown. Dingy looking exterior but good vibes all around on the inside. Street parking is available.THE BLACK AND WHITE: There's one thing you have to try when you go to Chicago and it is their famous deep dish pizza. I was actually distraught when I found out that Pequods does pan pizza and not traditionally deep dish pizza. It just means I have to visit again and try the real deep dish.Regardless, the pan pizza was THICK and it had a nice cheesey crust. It was more bread than I thought when biting in and the small pizza which was only 10" weighed about 10 lbs. If you're looking for your own pizza, I highly recommend getting a personal pizza at 6" to take it down easier.THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for a small pan pizza was around $35 including tax and tip. Pretty good pan pizza if that is what you're in the mood for.

Most recently retried it because of all the hype on instagram. Deep dish the caramelized Crust was very good. But the dough was uneven and average. The sausage was tasty but so much sodium. , doubled up on my meds. Even though it was consumed during later lunch early dinner we were all very full.
