Solid. They have your greatest hits, the price feels like it's stuck in 2000, and they even have these salt-battered, fried chicken gizzards in spicy tomato sauce that I'm pretty sure no one orders, but they really should, because it is BOMB.Seriously, get the chicken gizzards. Chewy, salty, spicy goodness with white rice.

You see a Chinese restaurant in this neighborhood maybe every 4 blocks-- but as far as post-bar food goes, this place is pretty great! The hours go well with late night munchies, and the menu has something for everyone, with some consistent quality. Don't let the bulletproof glass and cutouts in the window fool you! You can watch them cook the food in the back. Cash only! They cook fast, and you can pop into The Barn next door and grab a drink or play pool while you wait! This was my first experience with the Philly phenomenon Yat Mein, and I fell in love! The general tso's was a good texture and flavor, and the egg rolls pretty large and satisfying. Pretty great prices and portions!

Good, solid Chinese food - made to order - with fresh ingredients. This is what I look for in a takeout place, and they hit the nail on the head. I stopped by when in the area, on my way home, to order some Mongolian beef and General Tso's chicken. I kind of assumed they'd have it in the back and would just shovel it into a container and I'd be on my way. But I actually waited for a good 15 minutes while I watched from in front of the counter as they stir fried the veggies and beef, deep fried the pieces of chicken, and mixed everything together. I immediately gave them more street cred than I had anticipated when I walked in. I'm not going for 5 stars here, only because I feel like they could put a little more work into the front of the store - maybe use some new photos on the menu and provide a bench or some chairs for while you wait. It seems like a lot of their business is people coming in for a drink or a cigar, too, so I know it's a balancing act of what the majority of their customers need and what some other customers may want. Overall, they're doing great work, they're polite and kind and - yes, when we got home and ate - the food was delicious.

I was hangry and had a hankering for Chinese food. I've lived in West Philly for 15 years, but never made it here. I walked in and immediately thought it would be terrible. 3/4" glass window, smokes & blunts & ear buds for sale, people buying loosies, photo menu was faded and hard to read, and not a seat to be found. The Hunan Chicken took longer than expected to cook. That was when I found hope. They were cooking fresh vegetables and clean meat. I was pleasantly surprised about how not-greasy the food was. Will keep this one on my radar for the future.

As far as takeout Chinese in west Philly goes this was one of the worst, I'm sorry to say. Service was fine, the man at the window was very nice which is why there are 3 stars instead of 2. Egg rolls were nice and crunchy and have potential to be very good, which is saying a lot for me because I'm not really an egg roll fan, but only had cabbage for filling. Breaded chicken was good but general tso sauce was weird. I had hoped it would be good, the reviews seemed ok. It's hard to judge when there's so few.

For your typical greasy chinese joint this place is pretty solid. I used to like best china inn the best but thats no longer the case. Peking Inn has wayyyyy better lo mein. The fried rice is ok (does the job when you're drunk). The general tso's tofu is good too- and they can prepare it without frying the tofu (which all chinese places wont do) so thats a plus. Definitely grab the lo mein. Oh and its super cheap too

Really good!! Doesn't look the most appetizing from the outside, but the food is cooked fresh and hot and the tofu dishes are cooked just right, with a great texture. One of the best in West Philly for sure. Highly recommend!
