Parker's Barbecue

A solid 4. I grew up on Parker's. Great fried chicken and the barbecue is eastern nc style ...as it should be. Now the yellow grated slaw may weird you out at first but trust me it is a perfect compliment to the barbecue. The chicken is crispy and juicy. Yes. Even the chicken breast has that crackly skin and moist inside. Are there better bbq joints in this part of the state? Sure! But Parker's is a staple and you can still get corn sticksAnd shout out the Brunswick stew! I haven't found a better version than Parker's. Before you ask why I got boiled potatoes- nostalgia. It's what I grew up on when we didn't have all these side options.

There are a couple of Parker in town but this location is the newest and cleanest, for dine in I prefer this location for those reasons. I would never order fried chicken from a Bbq place so I always stick with their chop bbq sandwich or dinner plate. Their bbq is seasoned and well flavor without any sauce, always consistent anytime of day. One mouth full of bbq and then follow by some potatoes or stew would be a great. Another good thing about Parker's is that they are against tips. Tipping is getting ridiculous and it is nice to come to a place that is against tipping.

Came here off a recommendation and of all things I ordered oysters. The oyster plate was small and they were rather tasteless just like the sides. I hate fast food chain bbq places and though this is a local one the food here sucks. There is much better bbq all around here so you can avoid this place.

Good choice for BBQ. I Particularly liked the pricing for the amount of food I received. Compared to other BBQ locations nearby, the quality and price was pretty good -- I have definitely paid more for equally decent BBQ so overall a good choice for supper.

We came during a very busy time in a Sunday afternoon and the manager Hector received us and helped us find a table for 15 people. I really want to shout out that he made our lunch an amazing experience because he showed genuine care and paid attention to our needs.I recommended this location if you have large group of people because they mobilize very fast to offer you a table. I ate the dinner combo with chicken and shrimp, I loved the shrimp and for desert apple crispitos were very yummy and hot.Thanks again Hector and all the team at Parker's at Arlington Avenue

I am a big fan of Parker´s fried chicken. Nice batter and extra good when its right out of the fryer.

So we came to Parker's because a lot of locals had recommended it to us. We just moved to the area, so we are on the hunt for the best places. Anywho, we were not impressed. As we place our order we are told that they do not have any coleslaw (none was made). For real? I almost turned and walked out then but I decided to give them a shot anyways. Both of us in the party ordered pulled pork, we also had a side of fries, fried okra, green beans and Mac and cheese. The pulled pork was ok. Definitely had a lot of fat in it. No real depth of flavor to it. We could tell they had their vinegar "sauce" on it but we couldn't really taste it. Mac and cheese was so so. It was made from scratch though, it did not have a taste like it was from the box. The green beans were amazing! I would definitely recommend them. Fried okra was fresh and was good. During the middle of the meal some coleslaw appeared. It was mustard based. Not our cup of tea. Overall we will not visit again. Nothing really stood out to us and made us say,"we've got to come back for such and such".

Wow! Both times going through the Drive-Thru the food was so fresh. They are very quick to serve. They package the food perfectly. Like that the small chicken dinners comes with 3 sides. The kids BBQ or chicken dinner is plenty for an adult at lunch. Kids dinners comes with 2 sides for a little over $5.

The chicken is cold! The fries are cold! Why would you think people don't want hot food?! I'm disappointed and disgusted! Yuck!

You were highly recommended. I grew up in NC eating Eastern NC BBQ. My husband and I lived on Hatteras Island for 10 years. We are very familiar with how Eastern NC BBQ should taste. Your barbeque is the worst we have ever eaten. The pulled pork was NOT smoked, had absolutely no seasonings and tasted like it had been soaked completely in vinegar. It was very bland except for vinegar. The slaw is delicious. The potato salad is very good. The Hush puppies are very bland. The Brunswick Stew is ok. I paid almost $200 for a substandard meal. I also had to pay for the packing.. unheard of. I will never recommend Parker's barbeque to anyone. I will stick to Smithfield's. I recommend you improve your recipe. SMOKE your pulled pork, use less vinegar so it is palatable to eat. Add some seasonings to the Hush puppies. All in all, we are very disappointed in this $200.00 meal. BBQ Dinner Plate
