Absolutely disgusting! They are selling expired products. I bought a pack of charkri (murukulu) in June 2018 that expired in 2017. You can se the expiry date if you look closely at the grey numbers.

We were getting a faloodah at Agha Juice across the street and the friend my sister and I were introducing to the Mahatma Gandhi District was interested in visiting a grocery store in the area. Well, we walked out and we saw the name of this place and it was a sign. We drove the short distance and had a fun time trying to find a parking spot. We ended up finding one around the back of the shopping center where all the back doors for the employees were. As a note, there was a shopping cart lying snack dab in the middle of the road of the parking lot. Major negative points for that. When we left the store, a lady who was backing out of her spot accidentally hit it with her car; we ended up dragging it out of the way so she could back out without getting out of the car to remove it herself. Back to the store! It's a pretty good size and I was excited. I usually go to another Indo-Pak store so I was curious to see what other stores offered. It was a little more crowded, perhaps because we were there in the middle of the day (most of my grocery runs are at night). The store's cleanliness was okay. They had a fairly decent selection of foods but I noted that they had a distinct lack of vegetarian - Jain vegetarian in particular - choices. This saddened me since we're vegetarian but don't eat onion and garlic, so that meant we couldn't eat most of the food. Their flours and spice choices were fine, but not the best. They had a good amount of snacks as well. There was a booth giving out samples of some snacks, which we were offered despite being the only non-south Asian people there. Yay! I also liked the small section in the back that sold various wares for cooking/serving. Despite it all, it wasn't my most favorite grocery store, perhaps due to the lack of variety of food I could eat (where are my Jain samosas?). Although it is a good size, it isn't the largest and it seemed like the aisles were closer together, giving it a comparatively more cramped feeling. This also meant that though they had a decent variety of stuff, it wasn't as extensive as my usual store. Other than the two people giving out samples (I'm sure they were sent by the company and not employees of the store), we didn't have any other interaction with the store's employees. It was okay, but I probably wouldn't stop by again, especially with the state of the parking lot. However, it is somewhat convenient to get back on 59 - just go out the back past the Whataburger onto the feeder road. This is awesome if you don't want to get on crowded Hillcroft and to save some time.

This store is a total delight.Every time I have sought out an ingredient, I have had no trouble finding it here. A really great selection, and super clean.I can't say it is easy to find things, but I am not familiar with the items I'm shopping for often, but I always end up finding what I am looking for.On a recent trip, I was offered unsolicited help, and it made my shopping so much easier.Yeah the carts are in the parking lot, to the person who complained about that, must have never been to a parking lot. They have carts in the parking lot, what a silly thing to complain about.

As far as Indian grocery stores go, this place really doesn't stand out in terms of its overall selection or the freshness of its products, has stale smell, and it feels very dull and lifeless inside compared to other stores I've been to. However, it does have an excellent selection of incense, including one scent I've been trying to find for at least a year now with no luck because nobody seems to stock it anymore. Though that was the only positive part of my experience, and even that became a source of disappointment by the end of my visit. That being said, the customer service here is what stands out the most. It's like they don't want people's business or something. When I went to the cashier with my intended purchase it seemed like he thought my being there was somehow inconveniencing him and as I was about to pay he wouldn't let me complete the transaction because I didn't have any cash on hand and intended to pay with my card. He said that there was a ten dollar minimum purchase and that I would have to buy more stuff if I wanted to get what I actually intended to buy. It just felt pretty scammy and I wasn't interested in spending more than I had to so I ended up leaving empty-handed and disappointed. I later read online that this store also has a reputation for overcharging its customers, so I'll be sure to only use cash if I ever come back here, which will only happen if I'm unable to find what I'm looking for elsewhere.Overall, this place truly felt like it was on its last leg and lags behind other Indian grocers in the Houston area. So unless there's something here that you have to have that nobody else seems to sell, I would suggest skipping over this place entirely and taking your business elsewhere. Otherwise, Parivar Grocery is simply not worth the time or money.

Store looks good. Lots of variety for food. But poor customer service. When I reviewed the receipt after coming back home, I found out that they have charged me 14.99 for a product whose price is 2.99. When called the manager, the person is rude and told that no point in arguing and it can not be refunded on phone. I need to check what you bought and get the product and receipt with you! I told them I live far and I want to use the product although I can send you the picture of the receipt and product so I can atleast start using it but he did not agree. I wonder how many other people also got fooled and missed reviewing the receipt.

My favorite part of Parivar Grocers is the location. It's at the center of many fine Southeast Asian restaurants and stores in Gandhi District. I often stopping by to get something I just ate at few Indian restaurants. I could never get enough of poori and masala from lunch. So, I come here to buy ready to eat or cook a little bit for a meal at home. Recently, I learned dishes that are not just delicious but also caused me to study on them. I always have good experiences with the employees, either at cash register or the stockers. Never miss a beat. Clientele is fairly friendly toward non-Indians. Because I came with a group of tourists. We were not looked any different.

Its a big Indian grocery store with varieties of food and fresh produce. It's super clean and prices are reasonable unlike nearby keemat store which has unreasonably high prices. Highly recommended.

This is a well stacked grocery shop with helpful service. There was ample parking space and enough shopping carts around. The fresh vegetables and frozen stock had a large diversity and reasonably priced. Exit counter was quick and efficient. The helper packed all of our groceries really well in a box. Will definitely be going back !!

Most items are good but had a bad experience with a coconut that had gone bad. It would be great of stock is checked frequently for freshness and remove older ones.
