Pappa Charlie's Barbeque

The brisket is amazing. As are the chicken Diablo. Collard greens to die for. I will go nowhere else. Ordered twice from there door dash and the food is delicious!Run, don't walk to get your feed on.

We had some really good bbq here last night. They had live band and beautiful lighted outdoor space which was very enjoyable. Brisket, sausage and ribs were all delicious but the side dishes were ok. We had Mac and cheese and cream corn and They could use a little modifications to the recipes. We did have fried okra and it was delicious. Although we were very full, we had to try their Peach Cobbler and it was very good. Overall, great neighborhood place. We will go again.

Food was ok ribbs didn't have good flavor.. the waiter was not tentative at all.. probably would have drank more beer..Brisket was good.

Not only was this place fast serving it was delicious and hot. My Baked potato was out of this world I'm absolutely stuffed. Will definitely come back !! The Fried pickles portion was huge and not salty and the Mac and cheese bites were so big and worth the price! Couldn't even snap a picture of the bites they were gone in minutes. Our server Mathew was very attentive and had good answers to our questions since it was our first time Glad I chose this place !

The pluses: great chill outdoor area -- if you're there with the fam, you can enjoy food and music while the little ones have a little freedom. The minuses: the food is totally undistinguished, like an ad for Sysco. My peppered bacon cheeseburger had an obviously pre-made and not fresh patty, leathery bacon, and a borderline stale bun. The other two dishes our table ordered included below average barbecue and nothing else that made them stand out. Beer selection was pretty good. Service was pretty terrible, overall.If you're looking for a place to have a couple of cold ones on a nice night, this could be a good spot, but if you're hungry, there are any number of places in the area to get much better burgers and barbecue for the same prices.

Wow!! I am a snob with it comes to bbq or frito pies lol but this is the spot to go! I ordered the frito pie and it's one of the best I've had in Houston for a long time. The chili is smoked and has such a great flavor! Next visit I'm trying the pork belly!! Yum! Also the drinks are pretty damn good!!

This is the same place as Cypress Hideout so I'm gonna match my review. They've earned it! I can't say enough good things! We were looking for somewhere to go eat that we could bring our dog. When we got there it was over 100 degrees outside and the owner accommodated us like we were his VIP customers. He made sure we had the best coolest spot on the patio with plenty of fans he even opened up the back gate to let in a cross breeze. They brought our dog a bowl of water. Joe was our server and he was so great! Very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations. We had the chicken fried steak (so incredibly tender) the cream corn was the best we've ever had, smoked chicken Caesar salad was scrumptious, brisket and ribs phenomenal, mashed potatoes so creamy and everything was seasoned to perfection. Fried pickles were perfect! Pork belly bites amazing. I could not be more sad that we live so far away from this gem of a place, but we will be back!!!

My in-laws are in town and wanted to try some good Texas BBQ. Based on other Yelp reviews, we checked out Pappa Charlie's. Joe welcomed us in, assured us we have found great BBQ. He gave us cheerful service, happy to answer all of our questions and give recommendations. We had pulled pork sandwiches and pork sausage. All were great. Thanks to Yelp for the review and Joe and the Pappa Charlie's kitchen for the tasty grub!We're also grateful to be inside and enjoy the AC.

What a surprise. Never heard if Pappa Charlie's but got a rec from a friend for lunch. Super solid service by Zach. Had a two meat plate brisket and sausage. Delivered fast and tasty. Though we were there for lunch it looked like a good after work brew spot as well. Good job. Definitely coming back!

Papa Charlie's is a great place to go. Especially if you have dogs. Sitting outside is great. Food is good. Beer is cold. All in all it is a pleasant experience. They have many more entrées, as well as barbecue. Service is fast most times.
