I am a sushi connoisseur. I love sushi! So when walking down Española Way and seeing Paperfish boast about being the best sushi, I had to come and try it. Off top, the ambiance and aesthetic of the place drew me in. It's decor is inspired by Tokyo with an open indoor-outdoorConcept. We sat on the covered patio.I ordered the dragon roll and the salmon avocado Handroll as my entrees. The food DID take quite some time to come which was surprising considering it wasn't that busy when we arrived but when it did come it was soooooo good. Some of the freshest sushi I had. I really enjoyed the Handroll which was basic and simple but so delicious. The salmon was fresh and tender to the taste. The dragon roll was also really nice. I opted to get a side of eel sauce but to be honest, I didn't need it because it already had a pretty good amount of eel sauce on the roll itself. As a visitor from Atlanta, I'm wishing they had one nearby so I can indulge again

Went to Paperfish with some girlfriends for an early dinner during their happy hour. The vibes here are excellent and the place is super cute. We were able to be seated immediately on their patio. We ordered two rolls, ceviche, the salmon tiradito, nigiri, and edamame from the Happy hour menu. We also got lychee martinis for $8 each. The lychee martinis did not skimp on the alcohol but they were bad. Clearly whatever booze was in them was bottom shelf. The food was decent but the portions were soooooo small. We literally laughed at the ceviche when it came out. It was insulting - like 3 pieces of fish. See photos for reference. Salmon tiradito was also extremely underwhelming. The rolls were yummy but not a good deal - they were 5 pieces while the regular portion was 10 so the happy hour was basically not a deal at all. Service was meh bordering on bad; our server was pretty rude and unengaged. Auto 20% tip is annoying because she clearly did not care about doing her job well. Overall wouldn't return even though the food is okay.

Great sushi and ambience. Highly recommend the Paper Tuna roll and the shrimp tempura app. Our waitress Sasha was the best!

I had an incredible time catching up with an old friend at this spot. You won't want to miss their happy hour! ***LOCATION***This hip sushi restaurant is located on Española Way. Española Way is a pedestrian street, but you can drive pretty close to the restaurant. The walk is about a minute from a car drop off. There is another location in Brickell. ***EXPERIENCE***I came here just in time before their Happy Hour ended. You won't want to miss out on their amazing food and drink offerings during this time. As of Jan 2024, this location has Happy Hour everyday We also ordered some things off their regular menu. Here's what we got:Passion Fruit MartiniThe perfect sour passion fruit kick, it was a bit mango-ey for me too. A yummy cocktail.Lychee MartiniLoved this, the lychee shined here and the actual lychee on the toothpick was yummy.Sashimi Chef's SelectionDEEEELICIOUS fresh fish. I adored the selection and quality of the sashimi.Salmon NigiriOne of my favorite things we got. I am a huge salmon fan. This one was high quality and had me drooling at every bite.Spicy Tuna RollMy friend liked this roll a lot.Classic CevicheThe ceviche was good, but I liked other dishes more.Pork & Shrimp GyozaThese were so tasty, I wish it came with more. I should've just ordered more, but I can't wait to just get them next time.Miso SoupMiso soup goes well with everything, always a must at a Japanese restaurant for me. Their take on this was yummy.Handroll ComboThese were hard to eat. The seaweed was really tough to break with our teeth, so it was messy. They were yummy, but messy. I'd just order a roll next time.Chocolate Candy BarThere were too many things going on here. We weren't fans of this dessert.***PRICE***We split the bill and paid about $70 each.***BATHROOM***They had single stalls here.***CONCLUSION***I'd highly recommend checking this restaurant out for their Happy Hour. They have good deals, great food, and amazing drinks.

Made reservations on a Thursday for happy hour for a group of 14. We lucked out as they were able to accommodate our reservation but under two groups of 7, which was fine with us. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very sweet hostess who was so nice and actually made room for us to all sit together in the outside area. We were so appreciative of that as we were there to celebrate a birthday so we were pleasantly surprised that they could keep our group together. Our visit was made even better by a wonderful server by the name of Joy. She was attentive and kind. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Food was good - everything came out in waves, we ordered in three sections and oddly the second half of our table got their round ll items before we got our full order (seated at the end). We were a larger group and it was HH but there also weren't many tables filled outside at the time. For those visiting - walk if you are able to. If you are not able to, try to look for street parking otherwise you could always park at the nearby ramp (Parking garage at 420 Lincoln Road) for $20 for the first 5 hours and walk to the restaurant which is 2-3 blocks away.Would we come again? Yes, but for HH only.

Wouldn't seek out this place. Salmon hand roll was good but the seaweed was super hard to chew. Should be crispy. Got the sushi w yellow tail tartar. Flavor was ok and again seaweed hard to chew. Drinks were good had the blueberry lemon drop martini and wasabi martini. Also not really much air inside. Wouldn't be back. Maybe try the other location.

Food: fish is super fresh and the nigiri was top tier! Ambiance: I loved the design of the restaurantService: this is the reason I'm giving the 4/5. Our waiter took awhile to come back to us after giving us the menu. Felt like he forgot about us, almost wanted to leave.

We went to Paperfish for Happy Hour on a Friday. The space is nice, large, and comfortable. It's right in the heart of Española Way and as such is a buzzing area, but there are plenty of tables both inside and outside. We were seated right away, and I was pleased to find out that happy hour specials are available at the table. They have outdoor seating which I'd recommend for people-watching, and indoor tables if the weather is iffy or if you want something more intimate. The happy hour specials are great! A lot of stuff to choose from and reasonably priced with each item costing $7.95. I will say the portions are quite small though. We went for dinner and we had to order quite a bit of happy hour items in order to satiate us. The happy hour would probably be better suited as a pre-cursor for dinner, rather than the dinner itself. That being said, the small portions enable you to try a bunch of things! The happy hour specials on drinks include a couple different wines, beers, and cocktails priced at $6.95. We tried the dragon mule and the passionfruit martini, both delicious, sweet, and fruity. For food we tried just about one of everything, including the edamame, the pork and shrimp gyoza (dumplings), tiradito apasionado (highly recommend!), three of the sushi rolls, and the chef's sampler sashimi. We also tried the crispy rice salmon appetizer and the crispy truffle fried rice entree from the regular menu, both delicious and very well seasoned! We ended with an order of mochi for dessert, which came with three mochi balls cut in half, perfect for sharing. One of the flavors was caramel, pretty unique and quite yummy. The server was attentive, and given the amount of food we ordered everything was perfectly timed. Overall, I would recommend and return to Paperfish. It was a very nice experience and the food was tasty. Also bear in mind service charge is already included, as it is many places in South Beach.

I was originally going to another happy hour but the hotel looked like it was shut down/closed. I went back to Paperfish after it caught my eye when I was walking down the street. The look of the restaurant was beautiful! I'm sooooo happy I went here! It was soooo good and especially for me not to read any reviews prior to. For the HH menu, everything was $7.95-Lychee martini-HH dumplings (it was only 3 in there, it definitely should've been a couple more in there!)-Dragon Roll -Spicy Tuna
